Reviews for Hotel Los Fariones

Review 1:Absolutely beautiful hotel in a fantastic location with helpful staff. The old town is minutes away if you turn left out of the property and the new town is on the right. Can't complain about anything it's just lovely.

Review 2:A fridge in the room would have been an asset

Review 3:Location and landscaped grounds and sunbathing areas Cleanliness Handiness to old and new town areas Lovely staff

Review 4:Not a bad experience - but the sliding doors to the balcony were noisy and I did not open them late at night lest I would awaken guests in the neighbouring rooms.

Review 5:The area in front of the hotel was very beautifully laid out and the view from the balcony was excellent.

Review 6:Felt the hotel was very dated and a bit shabby for a four star but it wouldn't stop me staying again as pools/beach more than made up for it

Review 7:Location was amazing, beach and outside pool areas beautiful

Review 8:Food was poor both in selection and quality. No proper diningroom. Dinner was self service.

Review 9:Bedrooms are very good. Large with good cleanliness. For this reason alone it can be recommended.

Review 10:The beds were very uncomfortable and hard. Our backs were aching every morning. So that is one thing they should look at..

Review 11:The staff were excellent in all respects and we look forward to returning there next year.

Review 12:There's NO kids pool.NO wifi in rooms. And dining room waiters and breakfast chefs are v cross and cranky.

Review 13:The location is perfect. The hotel grounds are heaven.Breakfast was great.walking distance to old&new town.10 mins from airport in taxi.private beach at hotel.

Review 14:Wifi was poor. Didn't retain log-in details. One-towel policy was ridiculous. Felt like I was carrying a wet towel around from pool / beach / gym all week. Some staff a bit sour although most were friendly and helpful.

Review 15:Very nice hotel although a little dated. Rooms need improving. Breakfast was excellent. Pool area immaculate.

Review 16:The hotel is very run down & tired looking. The bedrooms especiallyare very neglected. They badly need to be upgraded. No air conditioning, lack of tea, coffee facilities or fridge is not acceptable especiallywith the high price charged.

Review 17:Location of hotel is good. The gardens & access to the beach, arereally lovely.

Review 18:There was no air-conditioning in the bedrooms. Much needed and sadly missed. There was no hospitality tray for tea and coffee, Also very sadly missed. We did have a fridge but I know other rooms did not. Lack of tea/coffee facilities and aircon are the two things which let the hotel down for me.

Review 19:I loved the location, the layout of the grounds and the great choice at breakfast! We were on a B&B basis. The beds were very comfortable, room cleaned every day and plenty of towels, complimentary toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. All rooms have view over the pool, gardens and out to sea. Beautiful. Hotel and grounds were very well maintained.

Review 20:On the first day I did not sleep in a room with a view of the sea, but they gave me a meal card for 1 day, which was nice.

Review 21:The Staff were excellant and very supportive towards me as a solo traveller and when I need to borrow electrical devices.

Review 22:I didn't like the fact that there was no refrigerator in the room, or enough power points to use our electrical items. Also no Air Conditioning. Otherwise the room was beautiful, with a lovely sea view. They had a good rule about 'not reserving sunbeds' but by 9am in the morning, most beds with umbrellas were already reserved, with some people not coming there until late afternoon. One particular group used to arrive around 4.30pm after 'reserving' 4 beds with mattresses, 2 extra mattresses, 4 chairs and FOUR umbrellas! These were left empty most of the day. There was a notice to say that towels left unoccupied on beds for overlong would be removed, but this was never enforced, and this was my biggest gripe.

Review 23:The Hotel itself is spectacular and the food fantastic. It is right on the coast with a little private beach. They had piano music some nights and the drinks in the bar and terrace were very reasonable. I would go again if the bedrooms were updated and the 'sunbed' problem was resolved,

Review 24:Very little entertainment. However Spanish bar opposite had music every evening from 9.45 PM. There are Irish bars with music all around.

Review 25:Good atmosphere - relaxed! Beautiful terraces. Very good food with healthy options. Helpful staff. Small problem = fixed within 5 mins! Plenty of shade & sunbeds on terraces. NO shade in Lanzarote! Clean towels, hot water. Room cleaned daily incl. Sunday. Honest room staff! Close to old town & harbour although these are hilly for disabled. Close to start of mainstrip of PDC. Close to coach & bus stop.

Review 26:Had no air conditioning but slept with patio door open so was ok. Considering the amount of Irish customers it would be nice to have Irish bacon & sausages .

Review 27:Loved location of hotel. Central to new & old town of Puerto del Carmen. Small private beach was fabulous & sun beds most comfortable. View from room delightful & the sound of the sea was so relaxing, lovely sound while in bed.

Review 28:Yes,it needs some touching up but overall it's a well positioned hotel, within walking distance of everywhere in PDC,has a wide variety of breakfast food, and the dinner buffet is the best I've ever seen.Staff very helpful too.

Review 29:Best location of any hotel in Lanzarote‼️

Review 30:They overbooked so we had to go to another hotel for our first night. It was fariones playa apartment hotel. Would not recommend it. In return we got 2 free meals and 2 free drinks. Staff were apologetic.

Review 31:Beautiful views from the bedroom balcony

Review 32:WIFI issues, poor coverage in the rooms

Review 33:Location is central to the resort. Perfect for short walks to both the old and new towns. 10 minutes from the airport, yet far enough away not to be bothered by noise. Private beach.

Review 34:Location great. Staff lovely. Some entertainment at night in bar would be nice. After rain sun beds wet and smelly.Otherwise a lovely time was had. Thank you we will return.

Review 35:Very disappointed with the breakfast also there should be a parasol available for all guests, because I like to walk early in the day by the time I got down to the the solarium I had no access to a parasol, I found this very frustrating.

Review 36:Location,private beach, as a solo traveller had plenty of people to chat with, felt safe, plenty of walking routes.

Review 37:Fridge was not very clean. Milk gone off two mornings at breakfast. Sun beds could do with a facelift. shower very hard to regulate - very hot and then very cold.

Review 38:Reception staff really nice and very friendly Courtesy room (50) very nice

Review 39:Lack of air condition, poor WiFi reception in Room 410.

Review 40:Location is excellent, food is very good and well presented. Access to small beach is a very attractive feature of the hotel. I hear that the hotel is closing on 31st October 2015 for renovations, I hope that this upgrading won't greatly effect pricing going forward. This was my 3rd holiday in this location

Review 41:People reserving sun beds very early in the morning then not coming back for hours, some days some of the towels were removed but this was not consistent.

Review 42:The receptionist was lovely, couldn't be more helpful. The grounds to the hotel are fabulous, really well looked after.

Review 43:There was only 1 very uncomfortable chair for two guests in the room. Hotel very dated and highly priced especially with no air con or fridge in room. It is not necessary to hear the entertainment in the room., it was very loud

Review 44:I loved the location and the pool area.

Review 45:The staff downstairs in the hotel were mainly lovely and helpful but I thought the standard of cleaning the rooms had fallen off quite a bit. The first cleaner I had was ok but the rest were not good at all - a mirror was left smudged, soap etc was not re-supplied and the balcony was not cleaned at all in the second week. I also lost an item of clothing from the room which I think must have been swept up into bedding to be washed.

Review 46:I love Los Fariones and its superb location and private beach. The rooms are spacious and the view is magnificent. The food is of a high standard and it is very close to the main promenade in pierto Del Carmen. The pool is also well-maintained.

Review 47:We arrived at the hotel at 12pm but weren't given a room until 2.30pm which was a little frustrating after travelling all night and paying enough money to stay here. When enquiring about checking out later due to this happening we were told to be out of the room by 12pm as the receptionist said they were fully booked.

Review 48:Facilities were perfect for couples and families. Nice quiet chilled out area. Private beach is perfect place for a cool dip in the evening. The feriones complex across the road with outdoor Olympic pool, gym and tennis courts also very entertaining. Sea view from room is amazing. Breakfast buffet had good variety although no nice bacon or sausage. Staff were friendly and approachable. Bar snack food was very tasty. Perfect location as right in the middle of the new and old town. 2 minute walk from biosphera shopping centre which was great

Review 49:There's nothing we didn't like it was the perfect hotel

Review 50:As far as we are concerned there was nothing to fault The staff were friendly, the rooms were cleaned daily and the location was great for us, also as there was an added bonus, the hotel had its own private beach. I would recommend this hotel but you will need to be quick as it's closing for a year for a major renovation but to be fair in our opinion it was great as it is

Review 51:I realise that the hotel is being upgraded but the beds have been poor for some time. No air conditioning and no fridge in this day and age is not good.

Review 52:The location and the private beach facilities are excellent.

Review 53:No air-conditioning in the room. A fan was provided with a one hour timer on it, so to use it at night (sleeping time) was not practical. Wi-fi was very poor quality and only worked by the pool and on the room balcony.

Review 54:The location was perfect, pools and beach were excellent.

Review 55:It was very expensive to eat and drink at the hotel and the food at lunch time was not great. The salad was so bad I could not even eat it. No air con for wifi in the room. No enterament in the evenings. Bit overpriced for the room we did not have a great view

Review 56:The hotel was very clean and close to both the old town and the new town. The sports centre was excellent

Review 57:Don't bother wasting money on the half board option. Breakfast was fine, but dinner was awful.

Review 58:The accommodation is located in a great place for easy access to the main strip of Puerto del Carmen and the old town. The room we stayed in was comfortable.

Review 59:The beds were quite firm but the hotel is having a refurb after November 2015. If the beds are changed then full marks.

Review 60:Everything was brilliant. The staff, location was perfect. South facing, relaxed and just perfect .

Review 61:Missed air conditioning although we did get a fan which did help. In saying that would definitely stay there again if we decide to go back

Review 62:Location was great no noise to be heard day or night and reception staff so friendly

Review 63:No Air Conditioning in room or no tea/coffee station in room

Review 64:The helpfulness of all staff, nothing was too much trouble. The pool area and the towels provided for the beach

Review 65:the bedrooms we had to upgrade but that was not great either a total revamp needed sooo badly the rooms are old and dull .

Review 66:i would give 10 out 10 for everything else except the bed rooms

Review 67:Wifi wasn't great at all

Review 68:The location was perfect The grounds of the hotel are amazing The pool area was very clean and spacious The food was delicious The view from balcony was amazing

Review 69:no lifeguard on duty at the pool or private beach , especially if you have young children

Review 70:location, private beach was fabulous with the option of talking a walk along the public beach. Very safe and clean

Review 71:Excellent quiet location, with a fantastic view overlooking the pool area and onto the sea. Most, of not all rooms have a sea view. Very helpful reception, hospitality and cleaning staff.

Review 72:Stayed for two weeks and surprisingly asked to pay in full when checking in Other places credit card details is sufficient Night entertainment was poor

Review 73:Staff and especially reception staff. Surprise birthday cake and champagne Nice outside areas pool etc Provision of towels very hood

Review 74:Not enough umbrellas in the pool area.

Review 75:Very good location. Fabulous outdoor/ pool area and little private beach. Lovely food. Friendly staff. Clean

Review 76:Didn't like that towels were been put on sunbeds from as early as 6am!! Lack of power outlets in rooms. No fridge in room. Uncomfortable chairs on balcony. Some of the bar staff no so friendly. Entertainment or lack of it!

Review 77:Free Wifi was great. Location was great. Reception staff very friendly.

Review 78:Guest can reserve sunbeds with no recourse. WIFI is not that reliable and when asking staff to reset the system they refuse. A lot of the pool tiles and slabs are cracked. They are in the process of replacing but be warned. There are plenty of sunbeds but not many umbrellas. These get reserved very early in the morning.

Review 79:The breakfast & buffet dinner are superb, varied and value for money. Cleanliness of the hotel is fine and the staff generally friendly.

Review 80:There wasn't anything we didn't "like" but it would be unfair to other travellers not to mention that the rooms, whilst clean and functional, are tired looking and in need of upgrading.

Review 81:The whole experience was delightful, the public areas and gardens were pristine. The staff were friendly and attentive but equally left you to enjoy your holiday.

Review 82:No airconditioning in bedrooms no tea making facilities in room very poor 4 out of 10 English breakfast we had ours elsewhere after 1st day

Review 83:Brilliant outside areas on beach

Review 84:Very small item but the food in the bar by day was not great , but this was only I felt the menu could have been better

Review 85:The Staff, the area, the pool, the beach, You got towels from the hotel for the pool or the beach which was very good. We have a 6 year old girl and the staff could not have been nicer to her.

Review 86:We would have liked a late check out as we were both very unwell but couldn't accommodate us after 8 years of staying there twice a year

Review 87:Location as usual was great

Review 88:rooms small, with locks doors and keys from the 1980's. Food OK, but staff give the impression that they wished they were somewhere else.

Review 89:Breakfast and general location

Review 90:had to ask for fridge

Review 91:I liked the location, the friendliness of the staff, the beach, the weather, the variety of food, the locality shops restaurant s and taxis

Review 92:I think when u book a double room it should have at least a double bed , not two singles pushed together and maybe tea or coffee making facilities in the room also

Review 93:Excellent hotel with a brilliant location Staff were lovely and more than helpful Good top class

Review 94:The staff were amazing. Made our holiday the best one yet. The hotel was beautiful and had everything we needed. Amazing hotel and people working there. Thanks so much.

Review 95:Beds Small and very firm, and room could do with a makeover, rather dull , In comparison to rest of hotel ......

Review 96:Loved my cake and champers, for birthday a lovely touch . Thank you very much ....

Review 97:Bedroom standard breakfast poor. Bedroom offered initially poor. View and told we could change to suite for 15 euro a day extra. They were other rooms available with much better views. Can't understand why they give room lacking view when rooms available . Second room had shower issues lack comfort and overpriced 2 star...

Review 98:Lovely location very relaxing .

Review 99:Room was cool, not very well lit and too far from the reception/bar area. Terrace was small and shaded from the sun. Not enough pillows.

Review 100:Pool area, restaurant and reception were comfortable and attractive. Comfortable sun beds & towels provided. Well kept gardens.

Review 101:The bed in the room was made up of sheets and blankets and was not comfortable. We had a junior suite which had good space

Review 102:The size and spaces in the hotel were great as was the quality especially of the breakfast. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The balcony in the room was lovely.

Review 103:The beds and furniture are old fashioned, wish the bed could face the wonderful view. Maybe glass wall on terrace?

Review 104:I love the beach, and being close to the old town. I love how clean everything is. Great cleaning staff.

Review 105:There was no air conditioning in the room, which was ok as I went in April, not sure how I'd fare if it was in the height of summer

Review 106:The staff were very accommodating. The buffet was pretty good. Wi-fi connection was excellent in the area provided. Overall a definite recommendation

Review 107:Hotel rooms dated. Does not cater for teenagers in hotel Inadequate nightly entertainment. Expensive towards other hotels in area.

Review 108:Fourth time there this Easter. Love that the hotel openens out onto the beach and sea. Pool area lovely as well. Staff friendly, kind and helpful. So central. We stayed in the bungalows last three years, kids were younger, great space in them. Stayed in Hotel this Easter 2015, had one teenager with us. Great variaty at breakfast. Will return.

Review 109:Hotel bedrooms in serious need of updating and are actually shabby.Need some money spent here urgently.

Review 110:hotel has direct access to small sandy cove.suitable location for couples, families or singles in need of a rest.Plenty of sunbeds with lovely grounds, view and pool area.

Review 111:There are no teamaking facilities in the room-A surprise as I was told that a high percentage of guests are from UK.I like my morning cuppa! There is no heating in the rooms and the first days and nights were chilly. There is no Air conditioning in the rooms. The book stock is very poor.I could not find one book in English although there were plenty in German.Again this is puzzling bearing in mind the number of UK guests that stay here.We went over to the book exchange up the hill across the road.Excellent..Very surprised to have to pay for the room safe as we had a Junior Suite. These are usually included in the price for other hotels of this standing. The breakfast waiters were very efficient but could be a little happier! The reception was very efficient but again could look a little happier-especially the chaps..The ladies were fine, helpful and smiley.I know this is difficult on a day to day basis with constantly changing guests. But again I say, this is a fine hotel and we will stay again. It just needs a little "tweaking".Hope they do not change it too much with the re furbishment.

Review 112:The location was great. The grounds lovely and well kept by the enthusiastic gardners.Private beaches a bonus. All round the hotel is very well and efficiently run.Room cleaners very thorough and happy.Towels, linen etc changed regularly and sooner if required.

Review 113:We had a really bad week weather-wise, which obviously wasn't the hotel's fault, but one didn't want to hang around the hotel as the rooms were dingy and the common areas inside were just boring.

Review 114:Lovely aspect and beautiful pool area.

Review 115:Overall hotel was good but think the hotel is more based for the more mature couple as many of the visitors to the hotel were over 70 durin our visit...

Review 116:Great hotel. Good location. Great rooms etc.... Staff very helpful and pleasant!

Review 117:Absence of tea and coffee-making facilities in room.

Review 118:Relaxation opportunities, easy access to beach and varied, spacious sun-bathing areas. Breakfast plus constant care and maintenance of amenities.

Review 119:the pool was icy......needs to be heated at this time of year.....this was disappointing to me as I love to swim....

Review 120:I am a regular guest at this hotel for many years past....and will stay again in the future....I like its central location.

Review 121:The Wi-Fi needs updating and in warmer weather AC would be needed. Room keys are now dated. We had a small concern about the reaction to a complaint about noise during the night, which was dismissed in an offhand manner.

Review 122:The location of the hotel is perfect and the sound of the ocean was very relaxing. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of choice.

Review 123:Very poor service at pool bar and cafe. We were waiting over one hour for lunch .

Review 124:Pool area and beach area very private great location between old town and new.

Review 125:Breakfasts rather shambolic at times. When busy fruit juices 'run out'. The scrambled eggs and other food at that station tend to be cold.

Review 126:The location is fantastic. Rooms comfortable. Staff friendly. Access to good gym.

Review 127:The beds are a little on the hard side. The rooms are very clean and functional but they are in serious need of updating.

Review 128:The location of the hotel is excellent. The grounds of the hotel are very relaxing and being so close to the sea is great.

Review 129:Beds a bit hard. Some staff a little brisk. But overall very efficient.

Review 130:The grounds are beautiful giving the hotel a very tranquil quality. The groundsmen do a great job keeping it tip top. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and there are plenty of staff to serve drinks and snacks However busy the resort may be the hotel has its own away from it all tropical paradise thanks to the great landscaping of the grounds: complete with it's own sandy beaches

Review 131:I wont quibble about small matters but the beds are perhaps the most uncomfortable I have ever had to endure. When I complained after my first night and a matress "topper" was added to my bed. This gave very limited relief. I observed the housekeepers with "toppers" in hand going to other rooms. I wonder how long the managers of this hotel have allowed their clients to suffer sore limbs without taking steps to resolve this ongoing problem ? Appears to me that they have taken the most convenient half solution and deserve harsh criticism.

Review 132:Beautifully positioned hotel on scenic beach with excellent staff and good food. The lovely gardens surrounding the pool area are quite beautifully maintained and add greatly to the overall ambience.

Review 133:crowd were very elderly,wi-fi reception very poor from our room and toiletries of a very poor quality.we had to get blankets from the receptionest as nights were cold.perhaps keep them in the rooms?

Review 134:beautiful situation, lovely cove and sunning areas.no hassle getting beach towels.service on patio area has improved a lot.breakfast good, did not eat there at night .the hotel does need to be updated but to be honest who wants to stay somewhere catering for 1,000 guests. we were on the 5th floor, double room plus a good sized living area and balcony. a great advantage is that it is only 15mins from airport.

Review 135:Old fashioned bedrooms

Review 136:Wi fi didn't hold on our appliances. Had to log in every time. Lighting and furniture in bedrooms outdated. Otherwise gardens & location amazing.

Review 137:The niggle is the daily charge for the room safe in a 4 star establishment but..this is common practice in lots of hotels in The Canaries....so "when in Rome.....!" Plus,do the maths..250 rooms x 2.50 a day and....you will see this annual income will not be given up anytime soon!!

Review 138:Its just the ideal location..breakfast buffet super and all nice and relaxed and unhurried with pleasant staff throughout hotel. Gardens Pools and Terrace areas fantastic abd new white sun loungers most comfortable. Il be back again next winter

Review 139:Great location. Clean but had a junior suite could do with a refurb in the bathroom and woodwork..great view..the grounds are fab..nice little beach..only had breakfast..that was ok but could do bit more English, sausage and bacon..yuk sausage..good selection though..staff ok..would recommend,it's advantages out weighed the disadvantages..

Review 140:No faults could do with more Lights in room

Review 141:Staff were so helpful at reception change our room when I hurt my ankle So I had no steps to go up and down . I will rate it 9.5 overall

Review 142:No tea coffee facilities in rooms and no room service for same.

Review 143:Excellent lunch menu. Food very fresh and we'll presented. Breakfast great choice of fruit and cheeses.

Review 144:Clearly marked signs around the pool state towels should not be left on sun beds to reserve them. Sadly this is ignored and bed begging starts from 7am every morning. I think the only way to avoid this is to employ a pool attendant.

Review 145:The staff are very efficient And helpful. Food is excellent with a wide choice of dishes well cooked and presented . We were very pleasantly surprised when my husband was left a birthday cake and bottle of cava in our room on his birthday. A very enjoyable five days.

The Fine Print

Please note that guests staying for 3 days or more have free access to the gym, hot tub and sauna. The rest of the facilities have an extra cost.
