Reviews for Auberge Pom'Poire

Review 1:I disagreed with some of the reviews: the hotel signals it opens at 6pm and staff were there, helpful and welcoming

Review 2:The location was quietly rural but near Azay le Rideau and chateaux Staff were welcoming, helpful and engaging. The accommodation was a great surprise, large comfortable room on ground floor The bathroom was huge, a great shower with accessible features too if they were needed. The evening meal was a culinary delight with inviting mise en bouche The wine selection was good and advice readily given The breakfast out of this world, with extensive home made produce to gratify the taste buds mmmm

Review 3:Nothing.

Review 4:Spacious rooms, comfortable bed, good restaurant serving delicious evening meal with a nice ambiance. Very good breakfast as well. Pet friendly. Welcoming host.

Review 5:The only (minor) downside was no bath; but the shower was excellent.

Review 6:Large room, large and very comfortable bed, completely quiet at night, charming staff, and one of the best dinners we have ever had. The prixfixe menu at €31.50 pp was extraordinary value.

Review 7:6:00pm check-in a bit late.

Review 8:Beautiful location in peaceful countryside. Room and bathroom spacious and clean with view over neighbouring farm. We ate dinner there on 2 nights and enjoyed each meal. Well signposted from all directions. Staff friendly.

Review 9:We arrived to find the hotel deserted. After an hour the manager(?) turned up with no explanation and what is worse,no apology. My advice to other travellers is check with them your arrival time.

Review 10:It is very quiet and peaceful and the hotel is beautifully done out. Nice food and professional serving staff.

Review 11:Hard to find.

Review 12:Great location, surrounded by orchards. Excellent food, with possibility of eating outside. Imaginative breakfast. Family-run hotel. Freindly atmosphere.

Review 13:Limited menu but superbly cooked and presented Excellent local wine list which complemented the food well Very comfortable and peaceful accommodation with a modern luxurious bathroom We shall certainly return!

Review 14:Breakfast was basic continental although with added bonus of nice yoghurt.

Review 15:Friendly welcoming staff and excellent service throughout from this family hotel. Spacious clean comfortable room (we booked a superior room - Peach), comfy bed and nice bedding. Good shower. Best of all is the wonderful food - do have dinner! Location is quiet and rural but ideal for Azay and Villandray. Loungers and chairs outside for nice weather.

Review 16:The food was superb

Review 17:Excellent food, good comfortable room and excellent value for money

Review 18:no wholemeal bread

Review 19:setting

Review 20:Sadly very bad Internet!

Review 21:We love everything about Pom'Poire but especially their evening menus!!!

Review 22:Room on the ground floor opening on to garden great for a pet owner. The meals were first class.

Review 23:Friendly happy atmosphere, excellent food and wine very comforting and relaxing.

Review 24:There is nothing to dislike about this auberge.

Review 25:Excellent accommodation Excellent food Very friendly Host and staff

Review 26:Nothing - hoping to return soon.

Review 27:Comfortable spacious room on ground floor with access to garden. First class dinner and breakfast.

Review 28:I missed a minibar.

Review 29:Quite area, spacious room, really big, comfortable bathroom, comfortable parking place, comfortable bed, everything was pretty new. Very good choise if you want to discover the area, many castles are nearby. I would book it again.

Review 30:While the waiting staff were friendly and quite efficient, the dinner service felt rushed and not very well managed. There is no restaurant manager or family member to lead the service in the restaurant and it desperately requires it even at a basic level to greet/say goodbye to customers. The chef is obviously trying very hard and I do not like to criticise as some elements of our meal were very good but generally the dishes are overly complicated. As a result the quality of preparation (i.e. Langoustines not de-veined) and cooking (meat overdone) is affected by trying to do too much on each plate. That said the other guests seemed to enjoy their meals very much and the next door table practically took the pattern from their plates!

Review 31:Large, very clean and comfortable bedrooms with nice balcony views over the fruit orchards and gardens. Nice quiet, countryside location well signposted so we did not find it hard to locate at all. Good location to explore the Loire area. Very nice breakfast with local produce from nearby farms which was a nice touch.

Review 32:The food was good but alittle too 'Haute Cuisine for its locality. The first impression was poor with overturned and broken chairsin a rather unkept garden area.i

Review 33:The place is a little off the beaten track! However it is well sign posted.

Review 34:Double glass doors from the bedroom led out onto the drive area near to reception, which meant we had to have the curtains drawn most of the time and at night there was no window we could open for fresh air. Minor issue which did not spoil the excellent night spent at this hotel.

Review 35:The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. The room, in a small annex/extension was large for a hotel room and had everything you would expect, including a modern TV. The bathroom was well equipped. At night the environs was totally silent, though it was wonderful to hear a loud dawn corus. Our evening meal, though not cheap, was well cooked and well flavoured.

Review 36:Food was superb. Owner very helpful.

Review 37:No coffee making facilities in room

Review 38:Room was excellent Restaurant was fantastic Service very friendly

Review 39:Peaceful rural location, ability to relax in garden. Truly memorable meals. Excellent room and bathroom.

Review 40:The food is excellent. Out of this world!! We have stayed at Pom'Poire for three years now and will go back next again! EXCELLENT!!!!!!!
