Reviews for Hotel Les Trois Lys

Review 1:We booked in advance. On arrival we looked at 3 rooms before agreeing to stay - for 2 nights vs the 3 we originally booked. It was hot 34when we arrived. Room1 was an oven. Room 2 was cooler but only a tiny high window. Room 3 1st floor, 2 windows facing the street so ventilation ok but got noise too. Breakfast wasn't exciting so we bypassed it. Got charged for it though until I complained. Access to room through maze of restaurant, past kitchen, outside, thru function room to adjacent building, up stairs. Room was clean but Spartan and poor maintenance.

Review 2:Location in town adjacent to Chateau Leaving

Review 3:Location of room was in annex at the back of the hotel on the 2nd floor - no lift and a fair distance through breakfast area to carry luggage. Also only a skylight so not much view. Mattress was foam so although reasonably comfortable it got very hot and so sleep disturbed.

Review 4:The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We liked the central position in the middle of the old town area. A very pretty town with the chateau and river in easy walking distance.

Review 5:Noisy refuse collection in the street at 5am - ask for quieter rooms at the back WiFi signal strength variable

Review 6:Central location in the town close to car parking, restaurants and chateau Helpful and welcoming reception staff Onsite secure storage for bikes Ample and varied breakfast buffet Spacious clean rooms (in new annexe) - everything you needed, nothing you didn't

Review 7:Our room was right on the street and because it was warm, we had the window open- so, it was a bit noisy.

Review 8:Great location in a small but quaint town. Very convenient to castles and many restaurants. Rooms were clean but small. Parking close by and free. Flowers in this town are amazing.

Review 9:Room very small, bathroom had a bad smell, WiFi only worked close to the door.

Review 10:Very close to chateau, in the village centre. Staff speaks perfect English, breakfast was the best we had in France.

Review 11:Very small room, too short double bed. Tiny bathroom, no shower curtain. Room had extremely thin walls. It was possible to listen to the neighbor's phone conversation and we even heard the answers on the phone!

Review 12:Breakfast was OK.

Review 13:Beautiful French village, only stayed for one night as passing through on way to Spain. Liked it so much have booked a week for next summer. Very peaceful, especially at night. Husband, I and 3 children all in same large room, great as children too young to stay in a separate room on their own.

Review 14:Don't even know where to start... The cleanliness (or the lack of it) in the room! Bathroom stinks awefully - lots of mold in it! Furniture is pretty old and pretty beaten up. Door was squeaking like hell was comming on earth, was about to fall apart and was difficult to open - had to hit it hard with my sholder every time! Mattress was deformed, very noisy - you could literary hear the conversation in the next room, walls were shaking when somebody slammed their door in the hallway - walls are like made of cardboard! WiFi was literary missing - I couldn't connect to any of the 3 or 4 AP's of the hotel. Well overpriced! I have slept in many low cost hotels - all of them cheaper than this one and still - by far better in any possible way! Thank God we were staying only for a night! On the other hand, we stayed at P'tit Dej-Hotel Bourges which was on the other pole - one of the best buget hotels, so don't blame it on the brand and write them off completely - it's just this one!

Review 15:Location - close to the chateau. Staff is polite and helpful, but can't compensate for the bad hotel base.

Review 16:Once I found the parking lot... We enjoyed our short walk to the local castle! The breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We liked being smack in the middle of the old town area. Loved being in a small town rather than the traffic of a larger one! It was a good spot to drive to the many chateaus. The accommodations were simple and compact yet very comfortable. We could hear most movements of our neighboring rooms...but we're talking a lovely spot in a building with history :-)

Review 17:Hotel rather worn and untidy.Breakfast was fine if you arrived early but when food eaten no more appeared.

Review 18:Location.Easy parking .Good wifi. Some staff very friendly -others not so.

Review 19:The room we booked, and changed, was situated through the hotel reception, outside and up a flight of steps. It overlooked a patio/terrace. It had a pair of glass doors leading into the room. One panel of which I think was cracked. There was no window and this was the only ventilation, so if we had wanted air, we would have had to have opened the door which meant there would have been no security. The bed was soft, and the ceiling appeared to be damp. It was dark and gloomy. The one criticism I have of the apartment is that there was no smoke alarm.

Review 20:When we complained about the room we booked,we were given the use of an apartment in a different street from the hotel. For us this was an excellent alternative. It was very clean and pleasant, although, understandably we were asked not to use the cooking etc facilities. The bedroom was good with a firm bed. The en suite good, and we were able to make use of the living room.

Review 21:First room allocated was very poor, in the attic very small with concerns re no fire escape. asked to be moved to a different room. Much of the hotel was a shambles, with fire doors propped open, and slippery access slope to the back where the room was located. Wouldn't recommend this hotel .
