Reviews for Apartamentos Los Telares

Review 1:This is a great location for a walking holiday on La Gomera. Walks are well-signposted. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. We also used the bus service to visit San Sebastien and Valle Gran Rey. Great weather too in December when it's so grey in the UK.

Review 2:Food shopping is quite limited in the village. The apartment's shower suffered from very low hot water pressure at times.

Review 3:Nicely equipped apartment including cooker, fridge, kettle and kitchen equipment. Amazing views in a beautiful and peaceful village. Helpful and friendly staff. Good wifi and firm beds.

Review 4:Amazing accommodation....the studio for 2 persons is amazing value....The studio was beautiful, the premises amazing and the views from the balcony wow!!! Not to forget the amazing receptionist who will give you any information you may need on treks or the Island,,,,We will be back soon!!!

Review 5:The only criticism is related to the massage received at hotel.. Was expensive and unprofessional That's not really the hotel's fault but was recommended by owner so just be warned

Review 6:Everything was perfect!! Amazing service at reception, pool was wonderful, breakfast tastey, brilliant views from balcony

Review 7:Bed is a bit hard.

Review 8:The flat was clean. Balcony with view over the valley is great to have breakfast. The lounge is a good place to relax, read, play chess ...

Review 9:If I have to say something that I didn't like is that the owner told our children to be quiet at the pool because he was taking a nap (our children got a bit excited over the cat that was near the pool - they weren't too loud and it was 5 in the afternoon!)

Review 10:Loved the view

Review 11:No one to welcome you, closed Reception, very got, very noisy at night, very small apartment withouut Real doors and living room. Far away from everything

Review 12:View from window

Review 13:The location was amazing! The staff was real friendly. The breakfast was nice as well, and you can eat it in your appartment. They put it outside of your door around 8 a.m. The apparment has all facilities that you require. And we had a good wifi-connection. The overall experience was great.

Review 14:The bathroom smelled quite damp, but then again it's a bathroom! Was spotlessly clean, however.

Review 15:Situated in amazing surroundings, with a balcony overlooking the fields and cradled by mountains. The place was cleverly equipped with everything you need to cook etc. Cute and clean, and the double bed was comfortable. Helpful receptionist who looked after us after hours and sorted a room/flat out really quickly and simply.

Review 16:Nothing to dislike here

Review 17:Nice breakfast (in room) Great location with swimming pool very short walk from the main building. Not too much to do right around the hotel but there is an awesome restaurant just uphill at the roundabout. Food is one of the best we've had on La Gomera!!! Lady at the reception spoke English very well! First time on our 12 day trip. No people checking into the room on day we checked out and were allowed to use facilities for as long as we needed! Great common area for reading a book / playing a small (card)game. (With free coffee and tea!)

Review 18:Dog from (distant) neighbor barking non-stop from 20:00 to 02:30. I didn't even know dogs could bark for so long.

Review 19:Very quiet location (when the dogs are quiet). Nice view over banana plantation with a few goats. Clean. Good wifi. Breakfast delivery was convenient.

Review 20:the room is big and there kitchen have everything you need, they also have a microwave on the hall and all kinds of spices and condiments you may need to cook (shared) i liked the big windows on the rooms. they provided us a crib what is a plus the location is ok for exploring the island, but not many restaurant options checkin was easy as the pront desk was closed and there was a message for us and the key was on the room door

Review 21:We only had dinner in the restaurant once and we were not impressed by the food, although the Spanish-only-speaking waiter was amiable.

Review 22:Picturesque, quiet and well-equipped hostel! Sweet rooms, Lovely garden and a small pool - and extraordinary view over the Hermigua valley! The staff was very professional, gentle and knowledgeable. The written guides in the apartments contained lots of useful information. Definitely wanting to go back!

Review 23:It's a lovely place to stay with fantastic views of the mountains straight from your window. Breakfast is plentiful and very nice with home baked bread. And the staff is very friendly and has plenty of tips to discover the island. I forgot the cheese and ham I had bought in the fridge and Liz at reception was kind enough to send it to me by post. Highly recommended.

Review 24:In february house was pretty cold and feels wet inside. Wifi not always worked well.

Review 25:The owner were really helpful and nice. Kitchen facilities brilliant.

Review 26:The arrival is weird cause you expect a 12 hours opened reception but that's not the case. Rooms are left opened for guests, we found it a bit strange as a welcome. Breakfast could be improve. They make a good try baking their own bread but there are some bakeries in the town with better fresh bread. First day the room was not cleaned cause we left it after 11am. Second day the room was left opened after it was cleaned. We were really surprised that the cleaners dont make the dishes of the kitchen when in any other hotel apartment when there is daily cleaning, this service is included. We booked a large room (25sq meter), and a bit more expensive than the double room, and there was not a single heater. If the light goes, which during our stay happened more than twice every day, you can not cook, charge your phone or camera or do anything cause they dont a generator. The swimmingpool was not opened. Even the hotel is on a side of the main road of the town, you are in the countryside and understand that could be animals or insects, we saw a couple of mouses running the corridors and that was not really nice. We heard other guests complaining about lack of hot water and in the reception they said that could be that the tank is empty in that moment, in our room did not face problems with hot water, but must admit that since we heard that we did shower always in the night. They are not very informed or helpful giving you advise about different trekk options, we found very sad that in the tourist information and every local we asked they have not done the trekks by themselves so can not give much advise.

Review 27:We enjoy the views from the room, they are wonderful.

Review 28:nothing

Review 29:Elizabeth at reception was always extremely helpful and did all she could to make it a really good place to stay. She never seems in any way flustered and answered all our many queries

Review 30:Very comfortable small apartment, with balcony and views down Hermigua valley. Access to other facilities -huge lounge and sun terrace, and pool across road. Extremely helpful receptionist, Elizabeth, with good language skills and suggestions for walks etc. Have the Breakfast delivered to your room, and dinner at La Chacaras!

Review 31:We had an amazing break thanks to Liz's many suggestions. The apartments are ideal for people wanting to get away from crowds, with plenty of great walks within minutes, a fantastic view over the Hermigua valley and lots of good food within the village. We felt like we had started to become part of the family! Thank you so much!!! Hasta luego :-)

Review 32:Everything was exactly as we'd hoped.

Review 33:Beautiful spacious apartment with lovely view, excellent breakfast which provided us with so much food we had enough for lunch and tea as well. Reception staff extremely helpful and friendly.

Review 34:Only very tiny negative was that the size of the room was much smaller than appeared on the Internet and timing of breaKfast availability was very limited .

Review 35:This was a great placd to stay , fantastic location in. True Gomeran town . We would def come back and def recommend to others !

Review 36:Would have been great with egg cups!

Review 37:The owner Elizabeth was very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and fresh, up-to-scratch, with the little extra care taken. It was nice with the complemantary coffee and tea in front of the fire. The garden with the little swimming pool was super.

Review 38:We were staying only for 1 night so we didn't require many commodities. Nevertheless, the building itself is really nice and the rooms are cosy. Had we stayed longer, we would of have enjoyed it much more. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Review 39:Winter weather!

Review 40:Nice guest lounge with good coffee and biscuits. Views across valley. Parking OK when we were there. Helpful staff at reception and advice on local footpaths/walking.

Review 41:I would recommend a car to get around the island.

Review 42:The apartments are really nice and have great views over the valley. The staff are really friendly especially Liz on the reception who has great local knowledge.

Review 43:Scottish lady who was on reception was very welcoming and gave greattips to us on where to go with our 18 month old Properly has so muchcharacter - the photos on the site does not do it justice. Pool andgarden area is very nice and has excellent views Breakfast was very niceHighly reccomended

Review 44:A little hard to find at night (but obvious in the daytime) Parking is challenging but doable

Review 45:Peace and quiet Kitchen in the room Gorgeous views from the balcony An excellent common area with books, games, and free coffee/teat Owners were very accessible and helpful

Review 46:The view from our terrace and the swimming pool was amazing, perfect temperature in a beautiful garden with a breathtaking mountainview. Good location to discover La Gomera and very friendly staff. Overall one of the best holiday experiences and highly recommended!

Review 47:Breakfast to espensive regarding to price

Review 48:Very nice place, so quiet. It is strongly recomended to try dinners: wich are served as a traditional meals with exclusive things.

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:Very nicely equipped appartment with superb view, great location, extremely nice and helpfull staff, breakfast in the room was tasty, defenitely would come back and recommend

Review 51:good staff, great view

Review 52:Very Clean. Private. Efficiency. Arrived late but notice, room and key pre-prepared.

Review 53:Very cozy. Felt like home. Amazing view from our balcony. Just perfect.

Review 57:Great overall experience, superb views, friendliness of the staff. Great for calm and slow stay.

Review 58:Comfortable beds and hot showers

Review 59:Beautiful place to stay, nice view from the balcony.

Review 60:Nothing.

Review 61:Peaceful and relaxing. Views from the balcony are stunning.

Review 62:Extremely helpful staff Very peaceful location

Review 63:Great views!

Review 64:All ok just had very ordinary dinner on first night

Review 65:Location for walking

Review 66:Shower was very poor grubby and smelly. Breakfast delivered to the room was very basic

Review 67:fabulous mountain views from the room

Review 68:Very friendly staff, Excellent room with beautiful view, well equipped apartments. We will return for sure!

Review 69:Excellent location in Hermigua, lovely views from room over banana plantations.

Review 70:The breakfast.

Review 71:everything - the room, the view, the Restaurant, the launge!!!

Review 72:On road but apartments face the valley

Review 73:Very helpful info about la gomera

Review 74:Beautiful surroundings. Spacious apartments. Friendly flexible and multilingual reception Good dinner from mostly local produce

Review 75:Fantastic place with breath taking views. We will return for sure.

Review 76:We were there end of May and weather was terrible, cold, rainy, windy while at the other side of the island it was beachweather. I would only recommend to stay in the northern part for people who don't mind the weather at all or in hot summer. We thought it was really depressing to wake up with the cloud hanging over us and took the puky ride over the mountains every day. In our room everything was damp. Shower was broken and even though we reported it, never got fixed.

Review 77:Its quiet and has pretty views.

Review 78:The location of the appartment The simple but nice restaurant The room is really sufficient and Los telares gives a convenient start for several walks around the city of Hermigua

Review 79:We stayed in two separate rooms, the first one on the top floor was not very well insulated and the room was humid/damp. Nothing alarming but when we moved into the second room which was in the basement the difference was obvious. I must stress this was a minor thing the hotel was great. I would go back and have recommended it to my friends already.

Review 80:Staff are lovely. Hotel is a traditional beautiful building with beautiful gardens and stunning views. Restaurant food is good not greasy like most places, they accommodated my vegetarian diet without problems.

Review 81:If its windy windows are crunching..depends on your mood..You may like it..or not ;-)

Review 82:A stylish inside of this house is worth a visit. Beautiful view from a window.

Review 83:Excellent room with a small kitchen and dining area overlooking a valley of banana plantations. It also has a balcony. Convenient location for walking tours. The "standard" rooms are well above standard quality, and very good value.

Review 84:Throughout my stay, the weather was grey and low cloud crept up and down the valley. The room was quite cold even with the heater on. This is the microclimate which sustains the forest of the National Park. Interesting but I would not choose to stay in this part of the island again.

Review 85:Spacious room with great views across the valley. Welcome half bottle of wine

Review 86:Minor things: a bread knife would have been useful but then we could have asked for one! The inconsistent wifi availability was a mixed blessing! No coffee bags until after 10am.

Review 87:Friendly and open atmosphere yet remaining private Elizabeth in reception is a real asset: engaging, professional and very helpful! Easy parking Easy access to supermarket and restaurants

Review 88:Would be unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems. Otherwise excellent place at the top end of town.

Review 89:Well designed apartments with beautiful views. Big common areas to relax. A trail to the national park starts right by the hotel.

Review 90:Swimming pool could be heated so people can use it all year round. As it is, water is too cold in winter. Pity, such a lovely pool!

Review 91:What a lovely flat, with outstanding views! Possibly the best view of our trip. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend it. Very comfortable, well equipped kitchen (with kettle and even a hand blender), and a nice balcony overlooking banana flields and the mountains of Hermigua valley. A special thank you to the very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 92:Our apartment looked over the beautiful valley and you are right in the heart of nature. Simple but comfortable accommodation and very friendly staff. Very good value for money.

Review 93:We loved everything in this hotel! Extremely helpful staff, superb location, fantastic views of the Hermigua valley right from our window, lovely room and hotel building in general, and a nice breakfast served in the room. The hotel also offered optional set dinner menu which was very tasty and well worth the price! There are very good trekking routes around the hotel. This is a perfect location for those seeking for fresh air, nature and that authentic gomeran feel. We will certainly stay here again when we return to La Gomera (an absolutely magical island!).

Review 94:If you don,t like to walk around , and if it,s no sun , then you get bored

Review 95:perfect location if you like to go for a long walk , Staff was the best , always helpful with everything . Breakfast in my room for 6€ a day perfect

Review 96:The only cooking facility was a 2 ring hob which meant it wasn't possible to cook a meal. This was fine for us but could be a problem if you didn't want to eat out.

Review 97:It was in a lovely position with a balcony that looked out over the mountains. We had breakfast delivered to our room and it was varied, fresh and tasty. The staff were all helpful and welcoming. The garden and communal sitting room were areas we didn't use but looked great if you wanted to relax out of your room.

Review 98:Really friendly and welcoming staff. The apartment is more like a hotel room really but with basic catering facilities and a wonderful balcony and view. It was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The communal areas are lovely, the free coffee station was very welcome and the pool and garden are gorgeous. Excellent location. Couldn't have asked for more. Would definitely stay there again!

Review 99:Our apartment would have been even more comfortable if the "easy" chairs had been better, not comfy and noisy, creakinh loudly with every movement. Not fun for us and certainly not fun for the guests in the apartment below, we'd guess. Don't expect any English language TV channels either, not even BBC World! The swimming pool isn't - it is a Jacuzzi only! Other than that, everything was fine.

Review 100:We had a superior apartment which was very spacious and well equipped with a very nice view out across the valley. The location is a superb base for exploring the island and Hermigua has a great choice of restaurants & tapas bars - indeed you're spoilt for choice - not an English Breakfast in sight, either. No bad thing. A very comfy place for our first stay on La Gomera, we shall be hapy to go back.

Review 101:I have nothing to criticize. It was an excellent place to stay.

Review 102:This self-catering apartment exactly fit our needs, was very comfortable, and private. The view over banana plantations was fantastic, as was the location in Hermigua.

Review 103:No a/c but you can't have everything for such a great price.

Review 104:The view, location, staff. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy your surroundings. The pool is in a lovely garden and is great to chill out at after a day's walking or driving.

Review 105:Nothing!

Review 106:Amazing location. Great swimming pool. Lovely apartment. We explored the entire island and this was definitely our favourite part. Go for one of the superior rooms, the views are spectacular!

Review 107:I booked breakfast thinking it would be a serve yourself buffet. This kind of breakfast gives you a chance to meet other guests and eat what you like. The breakfast turned out to be a tray left outside the door in the morning. If you are vegetarian make sure you let them know otherwise the salami, ham, cheese and fruit all come on the one plate. There is a buffet breakfast but only for groups. I would go back here but I would make my own breakfast using the excellent cooking facilities and local supplies.

Review 108:Beatiful location and very good apartments. Great views and garden and lounge/library.

Review 109:Limited cooking facilities No TV channels in English

Review 110:Location; fabulous views across deep, intensely cultivated ravine Double bed; very comfortable Tea/coffee in very comfortable lounge garden and pool Free WiFi Very quiet

Review 111:Hermigua runs along the valley and Los Telares is at the top. Many of the restaurants are lower down, not walking distance

Review 112:Brilliant apartment with excellent facilities, particularly if you want to self-cater. Wonderful having your breakfast brought to the room, eating it looking over the valley. Very friendly restaurant with home cooked food in walking distance, Las Chacaras. Very quiet and relaxing place. Excellent destination for walking

Review 113:They forgot to put new towels , but we got them straight away when we asked for clean ones

Review 114:Very comfortable apartment everything is very relaxed, we did not have any bad experience

Review 115:I think the walls between the rooms are quite thin as it was easy to hear noises from rooms either side

Review 116:The apartments were spacious with amazing views and great facilities. We found the kitchenette extremely useful and was lovely to be able to cook something in the evening, watch some tv and relax in peaceful and beautiful surroundings after long days walking. If you like peace and quiet, walking and nature Hermigua is definitely for you as everywhere you are the views are just amazing and there is lots to explore. I would definitely recommend people to stay here!

Review 117:No toilet facilities available at the reception area when we had to waitfor someone to come to book us in. Some of normal services were closedat the time of our visit.

Review 118:The apartment was pleasant.

The Fine Print

The hotel does not accept American Express as a method of payment.
