Reviews for Doña Pakyta

Review 1:double bed was, uncomfortably, two singles pushed together.

Review 2:sea front location, fabulous lounge areas, comfort of room facilities. Perfect view of sunrise!

Review 3:Reception cave misinformation about restaurants (recommended and directed to a restaurant 15 km away, which however never is open during this winter season - was not nice surprise to drive there!). The room door and bathroom lamp did not work. The breakfast was poor, and one of the breakfast staff impolite (but the other polite). Hotels should not be given 4 stars just because of the excellent location. The quality of this one is between 2-3.

Review 4:The location just close the beach is very good

Review 5:Waiter in the restaurant (with glasses) seemingly did not like his job. He should change his job or just enjoy his day and be friendly with the guests. Really affects guests... Unfortunately, he was also quite smelly.... Also cleaning lady uses too strong a disinfectant for a such a nice looking hotel....

Review 6:Receptionist on our arrival was super friendly and helpful (she was working on 27th Oct and 1 Nov). Having a secluded beach just downstairs from the hotel was truly great! Great sea views with sunset, sunrise and moonrise :). Good location.

Review 7:We've been going to San José for years and always wondered what Doña Pakyta was like. We were not disappointed. We had a wonderful stay at Doña Pakyta.

Review 8:Doña Pakyta is the perfect getaway break location. Right on the sea - with steps down to the beach and various hotel terraces on the way down. The staff are charming. The white marble floors are spotless throughout the building as was the room overlooking the sea and the bathroom. Walking distance to a really wild unspoilt coastline and beach and a few minutes from the white seaside village of San Jose with many eating possibilities - I had a perfect two day break here.

Review 9:The reception staff were great but the food staff not good Breakfast below standard for the room prices There was no provision of beach chairs/ lounges Parking difficult

Review 10:The room was fantastic with huge terrace Some shade for the terrace should be provided

Review 11:The atmosphere that emerges from the views at the ocean will take our breath. Get up early to see the sun rise behind the rocks. Friendly staff, very helpful and forthcoming.

Review 12:Not "bad" exactly, but the menu choice for vegetarians is very limited.

Review 13:Particularly enjoy the spaciousness of the rooms and terraces, and the general interior appearance of the establishment - plus the views. Stunning inside and out.

Review 14:This was our second stay at this hotel. There is something very relaxing about it, probably the fact that it has amazing views out onto the sea. If you like an intimate atmosphere with good facilities onsite (for chatting, reading and relaxing) this is a perfect spot. It's comfortable but don't expect luxury.

Review 15:San Jose is a little off the beaten path so we were questioning our decision as we drove into town as the sun was setting. But, we were happy to find an excellent hotel with a clean, spacious room and wifi. The view of the sunrise out our window in the morning was amazing. And, breakfast was good as well.

Review 16:Spacious room spotlessly maintained with large sea view terrace.Magnificent bathroom. Excellent food for breakfast and really friendly staff. Incredible value for the money. The hotel is on the far side of the town but this is not a disadvantage because the terraces lead right down to the sandy beach below.

Review 17:The rubbery pillows made my neck ache. Parking could be difficult. The evening meal portions were too big!

Review 18:The staff were friendly, with some english spoken. The view was spectacular, the walk into the town centre easy, and easy access to the beach. There was a good supply of hot water.

Review 19:The sea hugs this region sea food is what defines this region so do the plentiful vegetables & fruit grown in the region why we were served frozen soggy vegetables and frozen fish/sea food on an a la carte menu was lost to me . The food was awful why not serve seasonal food? Stay marred by the awful food!

Review 20:The location ..I cannot fault that watching the sun rise each morning and watching it set before having dinner with family nearby was the stuff memories are made off!!

Review 21:nothing, it was perfect

Review 22:Rooms with balcony are just fabulous Breakfast is pretty ok Staff very helpful Location is perfect Spacious room Huge and confortable bed

Review 23:The hotel is a superb location and has all what it needs to be a top hotel, but too often it is being neglected and not taken care of. Simple things like re caulking the bathroom tiles fixing the path on to the beach so one doesn't have to bring sand into the hotel after he rinses with water from the beach. Keeping updated in these details would help a lot. It seems a bit like it's running itself down. The staff was very very nice and we had a great stay in the end!

Review 24:The fact you shared a balcony separated only by a rope strung between rooms Bed was so hard the floor looked inviting room in need of refurbishing badly The menus was in Spanish no English snd no one could intrperprat we decided to eat out Very disappointed

Review 25:The view was amazing from our shared balcony ?

Review 26:Nothing really the only improvment would be a pool but it's not far to the beach but I prefer a pool with Loungers and sun Brollys

Review 27:Everything Great Hotel great staff

Review 28:Nothing, very spanish, friendly and cute hotel.

Review 29:We had a room called casse grande which was huge.Large bathroom bedroom with separate lounge area and huge balcony overlooking the sea...beautiful.

Review 30:We had a beautiful view of the sea from our terrace. Lovely staff, very helpful. Breakfast was a feast of cereals, pastries, fruit, meats, cheese & yoghurt. Absolutely loved this place, would definitely go back and would definitely recommend.

Review 31:No balconies on the seafront side of the hotel.

Review 32:The position of the hotel was great, right on the seafront. There were a variety of walks in the local area.

Review 33:the view is amazing

Review 34:The hotel was clean and inviting. Staff extremely friendly and breakfast was very filling with a great choice on offer.

Review 35:Lovely hotel, wonderful spot, to nice to tell anybody

Review 36:Breakfast OK but would prefer more prepared fresh fruit. I found the bed hard

Review 37:Location ideal. Very clean. Staff mostly gave good service

Review 38:Hard bed. Old towels.

Review 39:Location

Review 40:As it is a seaside hotel one would expect to have an appropriate and clean bathroom to have a shower in the departure day when leaving the Beach

Review 41:The breakfast was poor

Review 42:The location The beach bar The views

Review 43:the bed, hard and uncomfortable the wifi didn't work propperly in our room or on the balcony

Review 44:the staff was very nice and helpful

Review 45:The location especially, and the high quality of the Hotel

Review 46:Internet was weak except on terrace

Review 47:Great 2 bedroom apartment with 2 baths, private terrace, and sea view

Review 48:Clean towels every day, frequent changes of bed linen. Large well equipt bathroom. View from balcony/terrace superb.

Review 49:Outside areas a little tired.

Review 50:A very good location and a building with character.

Review 51:Restaurant bit disappointing

Review 52:Views from hotel excellent

Review 53:Except for the location this hotel is not 4 star worthy. No atmosphere, simple breakfast, bad rooms etc.

Review 54:Family room was incredibly spacious and very nice.

Review 55:No swimming pool No tea or coffee in room

Review 56:Location Excellent breakfast Clean

Review 57:This was our third stay at Doña Pakyta so we already knew and liked the hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious, simply furnished but comfortable.

Review 58:Location,staff,breakfast,suite with terrace

Review 59:Location and proximity to coastal walks

Review 60:Early season so not a lot of places open, cold weather, wifi not great

Review 61:Location, Cabo de Gata National park

Review 62:Pretty hotel, nice views to the bay. Spacious family apartment

Review 63:The food was extremely variable

Review 64:good location, lovely view of the coast

Review 65:Great veiw

Review 66:overlooked the sea lovely balcony heated when needed

Review 67:Would not pay high season prices. Restaurant understaffed and food served cold as result.

Review 68:Great location

Review 69:quality of food not quite up to the standard you would expect

Review 70:Lovely views Friendly staff

Review 71:price

Review 72:the location

Review 73:Everything

Review 74:We stayed off season so one poor woman had to do it all. But she was very nice, spoke English well and was very helpful. But, when you have to run the front desk. get drinks for people, help in the dining room and check people out it is really too much to ask one person to do.

Review 75:The location of this beautiful place is incredible. It is right on the beach and the beach is clean and wonderful. Our room had a little balcony where we could watch the stars and twinkling lights of the town which is a close walk away. It is clean, it is nicely decorating, it is very relaxing...we loved it. In the summer time it must be glorious but we enjoyed it in the off season too.

Review 76:Very nice and huge room and bath with stunning sunrise view and direct beach access. Parking directly in front of the door. Staff friendly and multilingual.

Review 77:when you get to the beach by the private steps there are no facilities to spend much time there, no sun loungers or refreshments available, it would also have been nice to have coffee and tea making facilities in the room.

Review 78:the view across the bay from the terrace of the large annexe room was excellent as from the restaurant, the buffet breakfast was very enjoyable the staff were friendly and helpful, a short walk down the hill takes you to a good selection of bars and restaurants.

Review 79:WIFI didn't work in my room, which was 109, upper floor, furthest from the reception. But it worked in the spacious lounge area of the hotel.

Review 80:The hotel is spacious, so are the rooms, with a fantastic outlook on the beach. The restaurant has the same view, the beach can be reached by walking down the stairs. The staff is very friendly. They forgot to charge me for my breakfast, and when I told them about it they offered it for free.

Review 81:Very poor command of english so a problem with dining. We ordered hake and chips and got egg and chips! Food moderate. Lovely rooms but could do with kettle and tea making facilities in room and a bit more mattress comfort and pillows especially in Winter. Beds very clean but a bit'spare'. Would defintitely go again if it was a bit more geared to english comforts.

Review 82:lovely location. Friendly helpful staff. great views and comfortable seating areas. very clean. spacious rooms

Review 83:- double bed was a bit uncomfortable (maybe more pillows and double blanket instead of one)

Review 84:- Thoughtful stuff taking care of us (gluten free/lactose free food) - great location & view - friendly atmosphere

Review 85:Christmas eve gala dinner - there were no menus printed in English, which I didn't think would be a problem but it was as we didn't know what we were eating!

Review 86:The wonderful position of the hotel overlooking the beach. The peace and quiet.

Review 87:Breakfast was a disappointment, the rolls were quite stale and generally the produce was quite sub standard.

Review 88:The room was splendid with a view of the sea and we were able to open the window and listen to the waves crashing on the beach. The room was spacious and the bathroom simply huge. It was an easy walk down to bars in the village and a 10 minute clamber along the beach to the resteraunts by the harbour

Review 89:It was perhaps a little late in the season (our choice) a lot of local restaurants etc were closed. But this was not the fault of the hotel etc.

Review 90:Just a great place to relax. The Med was at the doorstep, great for swimming.

Review 91:The terrace was closed, the grounds surrounding the building (mainly on the beachside) were unkept, the floor under the bed was very dirty, and the breakfast wasn't worth what we paid for it. Also, some of the staff weren't that friendly.

Review 92:The location was great, as were the views from the hotel. Our room was also very spacious and the receptionist that greeted us was friendly and helpful.

Review 93:Although on the booking form did not realize we would be put in theannex away from the main hotel. The breakfast was generally fine but would have expected a hotel of this standard to provide prepared fresh fruit and fresh orange juice.

Review 94:View

Review 95:Some staff were good with others being less attentive. I know their can be langauage barriers but when we paid the bill the receptionist didn'd even ask if we had enjoyed our stay.

Review 96:Lovely room and excellent location. San Jose is really nice in particular the beaches in the national park.

Review 97:the breakfast as usual in Spain is ok, but no more.

Review 98:Location, spacious room, clean, atmosphere, access to the beach, free wifi. A special hotel in a special place, the huge rooms are very nicely arranged

Review 99:Beautifully situated beside the beach at the quieter side of the small town. Lovely spacious rooms, and communal areas. Fantastic sea views. Good breakfasts.

Review 100:I didn't like that they ran out of gluten free bread. I didn't like that some of the staff was nog friendly. (the woman who checked us in and out wasn't friendly) I missed international channels on the tv. And I would have liked if some of the staff spoke a bit better English.

Review 101:I liked the hotel and its location. I also liked that most of the staff was very friendly. I liked that they had gluten free options.

Review 102:It was only after I had committed myself to paying in advance, that I discovered that we had been placed in the anexe on the opposite side of the street where access to the rooms was by two flights of steep stairs, and no lift. Not acceptable a) for persons over the age of 78 such as ourslves and b) because this was not made clear in the early stages of the booking process. After questioning this at the hotel, we were offered a room in the main building. Hugely over-priced at the non-discounted rates - we only stayed there because of the special offer of €106 for two nights.

Review 103:Its location with stunning views over the beach and sea. Standard room of adequate size. Breakfast buffet with good choice of items

Review 104:My only criticism would be that down the street there is an elementary school that after 11am there is quite a bit of noise coming from there.

Review 105:We found the room to be very spacious and clean with an amazing view from our terrace. The location was perfect.

Review 106:not much not to like to be honest...nitpicking, could have been more coffee at breakfast, but not really in any way a problem.

Review 107:the space (we were given a 4 people suite); the desk staff were lovely.

Review 108:The worst thing is the lack of parking in the hotel and also the streets close to it.

Review 109:The main point of this hotel is its situation in san josé. I liked the view a lot also. The room is more than correct, and the bathroom is very big and clean.

Review 110:This is a lovely hotel and the staff are friendly and very helpful. We arrived late and the receptionist and restaurant staff stayed back to take good care of us. The rooms are spacious, well designed and clean, huge bathrooms too. The food was good and we enjoyed the buffet breakfasts, simple but good quality in the Spansh style. The hotel is well decorated in a clean minimalist style, high quality and restful. Fabulous views over the San Jose bay and we found the hillside location amazing. The hotel has steps to the beach and a great drinks terrace on the way down. We loved staying here and would definitely stay again.

Review 111:The breakfast was very uninspiring and plain. The restaurant was closedSunday and Monday evening-however we did go in April. The option was toeat at another place some distance away. We choose to eat at lunch timeinstead-it was the same menu. The menu for those staying at the hotel wasnot extensive-just a choice of 3 starters and 3 main courses and coffeewas charged extra.

Review 112:We stayed in a room with a very big terrace overlooking the sea. Theviews from the dining room and lounge are marvelous-overlooking thesea and views of San Jose. Also has direct access to the beach.Wellworth a stay.

Review 113:Restsurant only so so

Review 114:Great location and nice staff

Review 115:Beachside location

Review 116:Great location on a quiet street with lovely views and easy access to beach and the town.

Review 117:Nothing.

Review 118:Superb location with a terrace view of the harbor. Spacious room. Parking right in front. Outstanding value.

Review 119:The location and large room with terrace featuring sea views.
