Reviews for Parador de Zamora
Review 1:The house is in need of re-decoration. The food isn’t great, we would give it a 6 out of 10. Altogether we found our stay too expensive for what’s offered.
Review 2:De location is perfect. The little old palace (1798) itself has great potential. The staff is very friendly (unfortunately only a few speak English).
Review 3:The elevator is quite small for a group of travellers with big luggages. There was no A/C when we wrea there.
Review 4:The atmosphere of the hotel is very nice and breakfast is excellent.
Review 5:It is a pity the frontdesk person is practically hidden behind a high desk and a glass. The accessability of the front desk is also hindered, so that the reception is not inviting.
Review 6:The staff has been very frendly and also helped to settle a parking fine we got on the plaza behind the hotel building.
Review 7:Slightly difficult to find down the narrow streets, but worth the effort!
Review 8:Architecture and history of building and town. Close to square with shops, bars and eating places. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Review 9:Bar shut at midnight when major fiesta happening just outside (not much of a complaint really)
Review 10:The helpful desk staff, very welcoming, kept me well informed.
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:The location of the hotel right in the centre of Zamora. The room was excellent and large. The swimming pool was perfect on a very hot day and big enough to have a proper swim which suited me. The restaurant was excellent and we enjoyed a lovely dinner there with attentive staff. Overall a pleasure to stay in this hotel and would go back like a shot
Review 13:We booked a month before rooms with double beds but got twin bed rooms because of some wedding held there. There was hair in the bathroom.
Review 14:Good comfy rooms in an old palace. Located in the heart of a very nice and undervalued Spanish city of Zamora.
Review 15:If traveling by car you will have limited parking. They have a small garage and they will allow you to park there for a fee (which we did) but it fills up quickly, especially if the hotel is busy.
Review 16:The setting was beautiful and the decor tastefully done. The breakfast was excellent and the selections were wide and plentiful. The staff was very courteous and helpful.
Review 17:Beware of sat-nav taking you down some very narrow streets to find it. We arrived on Palm Sunday, and as the hotel is in the historic centre the pedestrianised streets were full of people anstough to navigate. The upside is the location is brilliant
Review 18:Located in an amazing historic building, the hotel has a truly authentic Spanish feel. The staff are helpful and very friendly, and will park your car for you so you don't need to worry about parking.
Review 19:Unable to use the safe, no instructions. Difficult to find by car, because of one way streets and pedestrian roads. The garage was 'tight'.
Review 20:The location in the old town within easy walking distance to the sights. Staff helpful and friendly. Wonderful city.
Review 21:Had a lovely stay the hotel was perfect and the staff very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the lovely little town of Zamora

Review 27:Very helpful staff and a beautiful swimming pool. The evening meal was delicious! The building is exceptional!
Review 28:Everything; location, staff, food...
Review 29:Glorious old building, as all Paradors. Beautiful room. Great restaurant with excellent taster menu of local delicacies for a very reasonable price
Review 30:no pets policy
Review 31:food was excellent and staff friendly
Review 32:acessos difíceis, parque pago,
Review 33:localização, ambiente, estilo, quarto grande
Review 34:Disorganized check in. No vegetarian options in dining room.
Review 35:Historic building.
Review 36:I liked the location a lot
Review 37:location, restaurant.
Review 38:Everything
Review 39:Air conditioning noisy and not cooling.
Review 40:Location
Review 41:Wonderful building -history, character and comfort. Good breakfast. Helpful staff (but limited English spoken). Nice pool. Located in the old town yet with parking and good access to sites of interest as well as shops.
Review 42:Pool looked lovely but was not open unfortunately. Check in was farcical, the reception staff took a ridiculous amount of time to check people in which led to people getting irritated. Made us trek through the hotel to view alternative rooms in a bid to persuade us to upgrade to more expensive rooms at the back end of the hotel, glad we stood our ground because the double that we originally booked was fine.
Review 43:The building is breath taking. The restaurant was of a very high standard for breakfast and dinner. View from the bar terrace is really pleasant.
Review 44:Enjoyed the historic ambiance and convenience of location. We were walking the Camino de Santiago via the via del plata and had a wonderful luxurious night away from the albergues. Just enough to get us back into shape for the next few weeks walking!
Review 45:Breakfast was excellent, but instead of having a buffet you have to order it, which is slightly inconvenient.
Review 46:The historic building, its location, the ample rooms, the staff.
Review 47:Good restaurant but a little pretentious & maybe a little overpriced too.
Review 48:Beautiful building, full of charm and character. Very helpful and courteous staff (even to a pair of dusty motorcyclists!). Spacious and comfortable room. The best location.
Review 49:The internet connection/computer for guests didn't work and the garden is a bit austere (no flowers or landscaping whatsoever) but these are minor things.
Review 50:Lovely parador, nicely renovated. We liked the good location, close to all the sights but still quiet and with a nice pool.
Review 51:Paradore is looking a bit tired and the food was average. Also the all Paradore over 55 etc. deals, are not good deals
Review 52:Fantastic location to see Zamora
Review 53:Parking was a bit of a pain. Had to park in square and feed meter. It seems that the Parador should figure this out for its guests.
Review 54:Beautiful old palace. Breakfast was very good. Pool was refreshing. Room furnished nicely. Proximity to main town square and castle was terrific.
Review 55:On the website we booked a room with a terras at premium price. Be awarethar the are no rooms with terras in the Parador. Parking only possiblein public parking 10 min away (downhill)
Review 56:The location is very good. The pool is good. The large room for thegolden days deal is nice
Review 57:The Parador's own parking is limited to 8 cars with the alternative secure parking difficult to find with the one way system in the old town. Coffee and tea were cold at breakfast.
Review 58:The Parador is set in the old town close to the Cathedral and Castle. The rooms are very spacious and atmospheric with pleasant views.
Review 59:It would have been helpful to have had a translated menu to hand. We probably would have chosen to eat in.
Review 60:The building and ambiance, also the sympathetic change of use of the building and position. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good.
Review 61:Wifi didn't work during our stay. Arriving at 3 pm the hotel parking was already full and we had to park in a public car park at a cost of 15 euros
Review 62:It has a good large swimming pool and the hotel is in a beautiful building in the centre of town.
Review 63:I couldn´t get the internet connection in my room, I had to go to thecafeteria, but it worked very well there.
Review 64:Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the location was strategic forthe historic area and the room was very comfortable
Review 65:This is a departure from the fine parador service. The staff was not helpful. Also, they have no parking even though the listing claims 8 spaces. You risk getting a parking ticket even if you pause to unload luggage.
Review 66:I was very disappointed with our stay at Zamora. I have stayed atseveral Paradors and frankly the staff at this one need a kick up thebackside. The breakfast waiter glared at people as they went to gettheir breakfast and when I was booking out the male receptionist stoppeddealing with my payment and turned to stamp walkers cards - no apologyand really discourteous. The day before a wedding was taking place and awaitress seemed to think I had no right to be in the hotel. She shoutedat me right in my face so that her spittle was hitting me. Her malecolleague dragged her away. This was a one night stay in a 34 day holand had better service in a 50 Euro hotel.
Review 67:Generally felt it to be a 'transient' hotel and the bar terrace and dining room were very impersonal and not particularly welcoming. Feel a lot more to could have been done to encourage guests to stay in the hotel, but the town offers good restaurants and bars to sit outdoors so perhaps this is a factor.
Review 68:Very impressive building and very close to main square and cathedral and old town - well worth a visit. Bathroom lovely as ever, room comfortable and good standard. but not exceptional
Review 69:The beds were the hardest of our trip of 6 different hotels. The restaurant was pricey, but there were plenty of options to eat nearby.
Review 70:I liked the ambience and the building. The location was central to the old town and easy to reach the museums and attractions. The bar was actually reasonably priced for a night cap.
Review 71:very friendly and helpful staff, speaking German and Portuguese.excellent room, very spacious, wonderful baldachin bed.good dinner and breakfast.
Review 72:The location could not be better. We made the reservation in the Parador as there was a special offer.Normally Paradors are over priced.
Review 73:Very expensive. Neither the dinner nor the breakfast worth the price No wifi in the room
Review 74:Loved the grand old palace
Review 75:Accomodation and hotel was fantastic
Review 76:Historic architecture & location
Review 77:The amability of the personal, especially Zacarías, was great. Everything was nice, clean, a big value. Beatifull building in a great location. Ideal
Review 78:The dinner was à bit disapointing.
Review 79:Very friendly men at the reception, very nice paradores,
Review 80:parking cost
Review 81:Only stayed one night but found it very comfortable and ideal for us
Review 82:No restaurant or services due to general strike
Review 83:Marvellous ancient palace with excellent modern facilities, even pool and garden, in centre of city
Review 84:Rude staff
Review 85:Furniture needs to be renewed.
Review 86:It is nicely located. Staff is kind. Building is quite interesting.
Review 87:Original building was a palace from 500 years ago. It was conveniently located.
Review 88:Especially the romantic Paradors are always a highlight to stay. Sometimes they have fair prices, too
