Reviews for Parador de Cazorla

Review 1:The ride on the dramatic hairpin turns on the road to the Parador were unexpected and terrified me when I was on the outside looking down. It's only fair to say my husband thoroughly enjoyed the drive!

Review 2:This is a classic lodge in the wilderness, favoured by local families. It caters to people who value the style, comfort, and tempo of an earlier era. We totally enjoyed the experience.

Review 3:Location is over 1400 metres above sea level Fabulous drive up into the mountains Comfortable Great views both up and down Food portions where massive and the quality was GREAT

Review 4:The Parador lacked any ambience. Decor was tired. There was a very solemn atmosphere about the place.

Review 5:Location inside the Park. Food very good. Half board cost only 36€ per person per night. That was good value.

Review 6:We booked a twin bed in a standard room, but when we arrived they told us a standard room doesn't have a twin bed, only doubles. We had to upgrade for EUR 20 per night to a superior room (or whatever). Bit disappointing, given an already firm price. The food in the restaurant was bad the first evening, though much better the second, so I'd say it's a bit hit-or-miss. Portions are sometimes way too big and oddly presented.

Review 7:Beautiful location, stunning views, really in the middle of nowhere. You need your own wheels. Good base for walks in the area. Nice hotel, excellent breakfast, we had a very spacious room (but see 'negatives') and considered the overall style as rustic and traditional, certainly not outdated or worn out.

Review 8:We'd not done our homework, so the hotel was difficult to find. For the rest, everything fine.

Review 9:The setting is fantastic and the hotel itself has an antique charm in keeping with the rural location. A good place simply to relax, but they encourage walks in the surrounding countryside, too.

Review 10:Some of the facilities, especially the en suite bathroom, could do with some modernisation. The location is wonderful (a high point) but it is very isolated, dozens of kilometers from the nearest town or village which is a drawback if you wanted to eat or drink away from the hotel.

Review 11:This parador is in a very beautiful location in the Sierra de Cazorla Natural Park. It has a rather 'old fashioned' charm about it. Very good service, particularly helpful front desk, Jesus Hernandez was very happy to help on all accounts. Restaurant is rather formal but standard of cuisine, especially breakfasts, is high.

Review 12:Not a bad experience - but an overwhelming one - the starter I had for the evening meal was 5 times as much pate as we would have in UK - it looked as big as a main course - I couldn't possibly eat it all - it was a waste

Review 13:Location was great and we wished that we could have just relaxed there for longer than the overnight stay we had - also we would have loved to have done some walking.

Review 14:Due to the extreme heat the upper floors were very hot but the receptionist allowed us to move to a cooler lower floor. They could do with air conditioning.

Review 15:A great hotel in a fantastic location. Clean, comfortable rooms. Nice lounges, bar and restaurant. Wonderful terrace to eat on and take in the stunning views. Great food and exceptionally helpful friendly staff. Will go again.Thank you.

Review 16:Once at the Parador there is nowhere else to go or to do, unless you love serious hiking. There is a swimming pool.....outside...but it is only open a couple of months a year..

Review 17:The view from the Parador is lovely. Staff helpful and breakfast is good.

Review 18:Specifically requested a room with views, when we arrived, they did not have one, and had to shift us around to accomodate as they had given the room away earlier.

Review 19:Great location for getting away

Review 20:The cleaner would wedge open the main door to the toilets, onto the corridor when people were using the loos – happened twice!

Review 21:Lots of places to sit and read

Review 22:Very disappointed with the food for evening meal although breakfast ok

Review 23:Peace and nature, mountains, swimming pool, local traditions on menu of restaurant

Review 24:Everything was better than we had expected. Thoroughly enjoyed the night sky experience

Review 25:overall good

Review 26:Location meant not being able to go elsewhere at night

Review 27:Nice hotel, beautiful surroundings, staff very friendly, restaurant good

Review 28:Great location. Impeccable service, as always in the Paradores.

Review 29:Overrated, over priced, poor quality food.

Review 30:Meals were too big...but very very tasty

Review 31:Location, views

Review 32:We were served a grilled rabbit that was off and the waiter resisted to accept. Really unacceptable and not according to the price and the environment

Review 33:If you don't like walking don't go as there is nothing else to do, also don't go if the weather forecast is bad. The hotel is very basic and what you could call rustic. Breakfast was ok but the hot food was cold. Dinner was overpriced and of poor quality but there is nowhere else to eat. Bathroom was very small and we had no view from the bedroom window. We have stayed in hotels for half the price that were twice as good. It's not worth going for one night as it's a long drive to get there.

Review 34:Great location for walkers and lovers of the countryside. Plenty of way marked walking routes.

Review 35:Despite requesting a quiet room on booking- we were given a room next to a family with children and the very young baby cried from 11pm until 4am and started crying again at 7am!! Nothing you can do about that in the middle of the night!

Review 36:stunning scenery - remoteness of Parador.

Review 37:The food is particularly over-priced and pretentiously uninspiring. The wine-list, however, is good. The table-service charming, but lengthy. Rooms small for the cost demanded. As a passing traveller, unless you are seeking a "lost in the forest" experience, and don't mind paying for it, be advised to search the Internet for something of better value.

Review 38:Half a century ago, the Paradors of Spain used to be a safe, comfortable, bet for the budget-conscious tourist visiting different areas. Unfortunately, at times, this is no longer the case, although it varies from hotel to hotel. The Parador of Cazorla, it must be said, is no longer one of the jewels in the Parador crown, except in terms of its location as a woodland retreat.

Review 39:Dinner in the restaurant. The service was good but I do believe that you should offer a more varied international menu.

Review 40:Location was absolutely fantastic and the rooms were very very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

Review 41:The room cost was too high for what we experienced and the food anddrink were very expensive

Review 42:The setting was spectacular and the rooms were well presented andclean, although a little tired. The area is a haven for naturalistsparticularly birds and butterflies.

Review 43:Not really a fault but you need to be aware of the winding narrow access roads!

Review 44:Wonderful mountain scenery and total relaxation. Restaurant food and service were first class.

Review 45:A Great location, up in the mountains with dear roaming wild 20 metres away. The hotel is ideal for some peace and quiet. Hiking routes located nearby. The hotel is well fitted out and clean. Ample safe parking, reasonable restaurant and bar. The area is fantastic and I hope to return very soon.

Review 46:The restaurant was over our budget WIFi not working in the room onlyoutside of our room

Review 47:The area was magnificent our room was perfect as was the wholehotel and staff

Review 48:The access road to the Parador is long and very winding. A difficultdrive if one has been on the road for very long and very scary ifdescending in the fog (as we did on day of departure.

Review 49:The views from the hotel were outstanding and the location (inside theNational Park) was perfect. We were able to walk out the door to trailsthat took us up to the highest reaches of the National Park.

Review 50:We booked the Parador de Cazorla, as we planned to stop overnight in Cazorla, however, when we arrived in Cazorla we were surprised to discover that it is in fact a further 25Kms along windy mountain roads. If we were to return during some of the cooler months, would be keen to visit again.

Review 51:The scenary is spectacular, and the Parador has a beautiful if somewhat remote location. the grounds are lovely, and well kept, with a stunning pool located near the edge of a steep cliff (well fenced off). The night sky was amazing, with millions of bright stars.

Review 52:The price of the menu was not clear, the taste of the menu was excellent.

Review 53:The place of the hotel

Review 54:road at night

Review 55:everything

Review 56:Bar & Restaurant staff unprofessional

Review 57:Relaxing atmosphere.

Review 58:Isolated situation could be a disadvantage in certain circumstances

Review 59:Views,scenery and wildlife

Review 60:insufficient staff in restaurant food in restaurant was below standard

Review 61:location views

Review 62:Great location for walking or relaxing in beautiful scenery.

Review 63:Drive up there spectacular but not for the faint hearted

Review 64:Absolutely stunning location and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 65:A beautiful position absolutely miles from anywhere.
