Review 1：Good location - close to town and off street parking, but *just* out of Begur and on the valley side of the view.

Review 2：A family run business who are all invested and welcoming of their patrons. You cannot ask for better staff! The father was always engaging and gave great advice for travel and eateries outside of their restaurant. Huge rooms and a brilliantly laid out buffet breakfast. We will stay again!!

Review 3：Our room was in the former old stables, high ceilings and tastefully modernised, however the room had not been heated and required a few hours of heat to make it welcoming.

Review 4：Wonderful old building, wealth of character and charm. Restaurant meal in the evening was superb as was the breakfast the following day.

Review 8：everywhere was clean especially our room/bathroom; the Owner and all the staff were genuinely friendly. Dinners were so good, especially the fresh fish, we ate in the restaurant all three evenings of our stay. The walk-to-town location is really convenient and makes it a very peaceful place to stay. our beds were extremely comfortable plus the views of the valley & mountains from our long balcony in room 204 were simply stupendous. We loved our stay and will return.

Review 9：If they had a swimming pool it would make it amazing, however the beaches that were close by were fantastic.

Review 12：For the first time we were very disapointed compared to the 9,1 rating on Booking.com. We upgratede to superior room, because of the terasse/balcony, but the view was poor - mainly view to a fence and Electric wires. The room and terrase a little bit worn out. Cleaning poor - on arrivel we had to ask for a clean over, since the floors and refrigerater was ditry.

Review 14：The room is very average. The bed is very hard and our terrace was not at all welcoming with dead plants and no privacy, hot with rusty umbrella. The toiletries are poor and not replaced.

Review 21：Begur is one of the best towns on the Costa Brava. The location of the hotel was very convenient to the town and to the beaches. It was elegant, yet cozy, with a beautiful renovation to an old country home. We loved all the details. Staff was very warm and friendly, and gave us great recommendations on what to see in the area. Price was very reasonable. Restaurant quality is excellent, one of the best in Begur. Wifi worked well. A very relaxing ambiance with great soft music playing in the main hotel. We will be back !

Review 22：Loved it! Such a beautiful property, good bed, great shower and spacious patio. The staff was wonderful and the owner sat down with us at breakfast to chat and help us come up with a plan for our day. Would definitely stay here again!

Review 25：Nothing in particular. However, I do suffer from back problems and I found the mattress lacked support. An upgrade to a pocket sprung mattress or the provision of a mattress topper would make for a better stay.

Review 33：Our room was located in the middle of a staircase that other guests used to get to the main hotel area. We had no terrace outside with shade like the discription. Other rooms next to us did. Too hot to sit out and not private as people were coming passed where we were sitting. Not as tranquil as described lots of road noise.

Review 59：After I read all the wonderful reviews I wondered if this was too good to be true so I drove by the property to check it out before my husband joined me (he is rather picky about things). The property is just down thw hill from the center of town and at 1st I thought I wouldn't like this but as it turns out it was PERFECT! First, Begur gets loud REALLY loud at all hours of the day with families enjoying everything the center has to offer- the mas offered a quiet retreat away from the centers buzz. Not to mention FREE PARKING! We walked to the center of town daily and it only took us about 5 minutes tops with no effort and very safe. Second, the hospitality and attention to detail at the Mas Galena is superb. They know you by name and put the guests first. From the beautiful (both in food presentation and in vistas) breakfast is a must! The lounge areas around the property made you feel like you were in your own home and that's how they like for you to feel. This was simply a top shelf property with every convenience you can think of. Finally you are litterly about a 5-10 minute car ride from the best beach coves in the area! This place was PERFECT.

Review 60：One staffer was very unfriendly, not greeting us upon arrival and rather cleaning bar glasses until asked if he handles check in. Yes, check in was his job. Cleanliness was poor thus no value to me. My last night I felt like I was being "bitten" by something. When my partner and awoke the next day we both has numerous red marks and rashes perhaps from insects.

Review 63：The town of Begur was absolutely amazing. From the town you can see the beaches of the Costa Brava and the snow peaked Pyranees. The hotel itself was extremely comfortable & picturesque and the staff were all great.

Review 74：What made our stay at Galena was the owner Miguel and his warm and veryprofessional staff. Miguel was very warm and friendly and made us feeltotally at home. He gave us many tips on where to go and what to do. Therooms are not luxurious or ott, rather they are modern, comfortable andfit the aesthetic of the farm house. The restaurant menu is very largeand pretty much everything we had was excellent. Galena is not in thetown (but is a very quick 7 min walk) but to me that's a small tradeoff to stay in a farmhouse with the warmest innkeeper ever....Galena is a very special place and we'll definitely be back the next time we are in Begur. In fact we might just go back to Begur just to stay at Galena :) Oh and i can't leave out this very important fact - we had the best suckling pig there ever!!!!

Review 75：Miguel, the hands-on owner was a supreme host, tour guide and hotelier. The terrace dining area overlooks a beautiful tree canopy. Our rooms were nicely appointed and spacious. Booked for two nights and stayed an extra night.

Review 76：This is a very special place! So comfortable, welcoming and relaxing with delicious, varied meals and plentiful breakfasts. Miguel was so willing to offer advice and tell us about this lovely area. Our baby grandson stayed with us for one night and he loved it too! All the staff are friendly and attentive and ensured that all our needs were met. Miguel told us to treat this beautiful mas as 'home' and we will certainly return.
