Reviews for Parador de Guadalupe
Review 1:Location. The bar, the breakfast and the view from our terrace. we were offered an upgrade on arrival and were taken to our room, don't think I would have found it if not. It was however a beautiful room with amazing facilities.
Review 2:Just bear in mind there are steps especially to where breakfast is, If you use a wheelchair.
Review 3:Lovely room. Meal in restaurant very good. Staff very friendly.
Review 4:Indifferent staff. Rugs and furniture in rooms in need of refurbishing. Can rate the bar food as good. The dining restaurant not so: mediocre meal with a high price tag. Will not stay here again. You also have to pay separate for parking.
Review 5:Historic beautiful building.
Review 6:Pool was not open in the morning until 11am and check out is 12 noon. This is very poor. They should either clean the pool at 6am for availability at 8am. I was very disappointed. The room furniture was a little "tired" except for the bed which was fine. Car parking should be free for guests.
Review 7:Great location, good staff, great pool, good breakfast and beautiful setting.
Review 8:Beautiful old parador with so much character and fantastic view from bedroom, pool great and indispensable! Location fantastic as right opposite the beautiful monastery
Review 9:The location is of course excellent for a quiet and utterly relaxing stay. The parador itself is quietly luxurious and the most wonderful property with good food. What, as they say, is not to like/
Review 10:Swiming pool closed and no where in garden to sit, no where with shade to sit, 26c!
Review 11:Location, room, view, food and wine in hotel. Friendly staff. Room had balcony overlooking the cathedral, magic.
Review 12:Staff at bar during the day could be more friendly. Staff in general was friendly and helpful.
Review 13:right in the center of the lovely town, but still calm and private. The quad is wonderful. Dining in the hotel is also very good.
Review 14:Our room was very dark, but OK - this is a very old building and we think our room was two cells for monks built together - or something like that. The Wifi was very wavering. We did not eat there, as there was no vegetarian options. Also we did not try the breakfast buffet, as the bread looked like Bimbo and we are not keen on the sticky cakes.
Review 15:Smack in the middle of Guadalupe
Review 16:For only 9 euros we were upgraded to a room with a stunning view of the Cathedral. Like most Paradors, it is a bargain considering the ambiance and amenities.
Review 17:WiFi never operational. Parking expensive for out in the sticks
Review 18:Very quite
Review 19:The restaurant/food was terrible. Some of the staff (in the restaurant) could be more friendly.
Review 20:Almost everything
Review 21:none
Review 22:The best location in Guadalupe and very good evening dinner.
Review 23:Tranquillity of parador and the town
Review 24:The pool was closed; water features were dry; very basic rooms; staff just ok
Review 25:Splendid courtyard; great breakfast; parking on site
Review 26:Beautiful restored building ,lots of charm, great food and good value
Review 27:A beautiful Parador in a quaint village surrounded by mountains and farmland. It couldn't get any better for our introduction of Spain.
Review 28:Rooms too old decoration
Review 29:The place and village.
Review 30:Nada.
Review 31:Todo.
Review 32:The beautifully decorated bar unfortunately reeks of cigarette smoke :-(((
Review 33:The luxury rooms have a superb view over the cathedrale. It is very quiet compared to other Spanish hotels. The historic interiors are stunning
Review 34:Paying 12 euros per night fo parking.First night we were parked in a cold dining room on our own due to a function in the smaller warmer room.Service was not good for the evening and no breakfast menu next day. Second night was as you would expect from a parador. Our experience of this Parador was dissapointing
Review 35:Décor and building excellent.wifi good and free.Meals are good in restaurant but there are plenty of cheaper options in town
Review 36:Town is typically hilly with steep long gradiants. Hard work in the heat of the day especially if your not very fit.
Review 37:Fantastic old building with stunning internal courtyard and beautiful views from the room of the hotel, monastry and mountains. Only a few steps from the centre of the town and all the sites.
Review 38:Nothing special.
Review 39:1. Fantastic view of "Convento" from the room subject to it being located in the annex to the hotel.2. Greenery mountain scenery
Review 40:Even though there is free WiFi in the room, connection was poor. we couldn't connect to the Internet at all
Review 41:Excellent location, amazing view, perfect accommodations with balcony big pool, very quiet and relaxing
Review 42:Parking to pay Noise at the swimming pool (children) Lack of clear signs for the lift, reception etc.
Review 43:Location, beautiful Place for diner near the swimming pool
Review 44:unfortunately the pool wasn't open
Review 45:Its a great little town and the parador is in a good location. our room wasn't particularly luxurious but it was very acceptable and its a building with a lot of charm & character.
Review 46:The Parador is beginning to look a little tattered... not what we expected from this chain.
Review 47:Great location. Pretty courtyard - would be nice in warmer weather.
Review 48:When we arrived the staff were excellent and explained that Guadalupe was celebrating its annual fiesta, such that not only was the Parador ( part of the old monastery) available to experience, but also the monastery itself was open to all. The food was excellent.
Review 49:We asked for Non-smoking.... but got smoking.... Terrible food for dinner... potatoes and wedge of frozen king - just heated in the oven.... did anybody say PARADOR!!???? GREAT place to stay - just don't EAT there!
Review 50:Beautifully restored and maintained old building in a lovely village, with wonderful views of the churches, monastery and the mountains. Lovely swimming pool in a quiet part of the grounds.
Review 51:The swimming pool was unattended and uncleaned ( no lifeguard). In temperatures in the high 30's this was unacceptable. I was charged for parking in the "unsupervised" area even though notices differentiated between the "supervised" and "unsupervised" sections. The Trujillo parador operated a different and more acceptable system.
Review 52:The location was excellent - immediately opposite the monastery. Lovely views from room balcony. Food very good.
Review 53:The a/c unit was very noisy. I could not get WiFi and staff was unableto help. The room beds were not very comfortable. Overall, the place isnot worth the money. You can probably do better staying in the nearbytwo star hotel located in the Guadalupe Monastery itself (Hospederia delReal Monasterio). The setting is equally spectacular, food in therestaurant is very good, and prices are lower.
Review 54:The facility is located in a beautiful former monastery.
Review 55:Not much to do.If you have a probelm with walking ask for a disabelroom ,as we had to take the lift to the first floor then walk to theother lift to go to the seconed floor then down five stairs before wegot to the room.
Review 56:Just across from the cathedral.
Review 57:Just like the other parador I stayed in on this trip the bar service during the day was slow and staffing seemed a bit low.
Review 58:The hotel is opposite the monastery and my room had a magnificent view over the roof of the parador and across the monastery. It’s a particularly pretty building in arab style built around an attractive courtyard with horsehoe arches and orange and lemon trees. It has a charming garden at the back on several levels with ornamental pools, trees and a swimming pool. My room was good and I was perfectly comfortable relaxing there for an afternoon when a downpour prevented much wandering about. There was not as much breakfast choice as at some other paradors but the restaurant was good (the chocolate tart was the best I have eaten anywhere) and service enthusiastic.
Review 59:Twin beds pushed together to make a double! Limited menu.
Review 60:Garden. Dining room. Cloisters, bar etc. Quiet (traffic outside didn't penetrate.)
Review 61:The restaurant was scheduled to open only at 20.30. Too late !! Yet no one of the stuff was there before 20.45.
Review 62:It's getting old. There seems to be a lack of a maintenance process
Review 63:Location
Review 64:somewhat pricey for what it is not the best parador
Review 65:beautiful building good location in the mountains good restaurant
Review 66:Costly restaurant and meals so, so
Review 67:Rooms are beautiful, views great. Lovely quiet town. STaff very warm and helpful.
Review 68:Limited parking.
Review 69:Lovely place. Great food and excellent service.
Review 70:Paying for the parking.
Review 71:Lovely pool and out door area. Views and location. Value for money. Room.
Review 72:To ne chargés for car parking
Review 73:It is a lovely Parador in a beautiful city.
Review 74:Lovely room with interesting decor and furniture. Friendly staff.
Review 75:Beautiful gardens and we were upgraded to a room with balconies and views over the gardens.
