Reviews for Le Chapeau Rouge
Review 1:Poor location,no restaurants in easy walking distance.Once parked in the small park!ng area it is difficult to leave for dinner. Slight smell of cigarette smoke.
Review 2:Very clean accommodation. Comfortable beds.
Review 3:Breakfast was a bit basic and the room especially the toilet and bathroom rather small.
Review 4:All towels, sheets were exceptionally clean. The staff were friendly and helpful
Review 5:It won't win any prizes for loveliness as a hotel, but very solid choice if you're driving and need an overnight stop.
Review 6:Best night's sleep. Very friendly staff. Good coffee for breakfast.
Review 7:The restaurant on the main road with the same name that is closed down is misleading.
Review 8:Friendly staff, excellent shower facility, clean and tidy hotel, lovely breakfast with table service. Would definitely use it again.
Review 9:Parking safe but very tight, rooms a bit noisy as door locks make a hell of a racket. Owner a bit pushy to try and upgrade you! Just stick to your guns.
Review 10:Clean fresh hotel, with good location and speak some english. Breakfast nice.
Review 11:The location is convenient a few minutes walk from the Centre of Alencon , The owners take the concept of service to a high level and couldn't have been more helpful .
Review 12:The parking at the side of the hotel was very difficult. We understand that there is another parking area.
Review 13:Lovely welcoming couple One of the cleanest hotels ever stayed in in France! Great breakfast - continental but asked if we wanted more of everything. Great shower.
Review 14:Wifi intermittent. Location - On a busy junction and noisy (if you open a window). Generally not really central and no decent bar/restaurant nearby.
Review 15:Clean room, good shower and bathroom, friendly reception. Brilliant baker opposite!
Review 16:Walls between rooms were very thin, so felt like we had to creep around and virtually whisper to prevent disturbing other guests. We had earplugs so our own sleep wasn't affected.
Review 17:Friendly owners. High quality, comfortable beds and linens. Large shower rooms with quality fixtures and fittings. Heating on during a cold night. Private parking right outside
Review 18:The bathroom was very dark and cold.
Review 19:The beds were comfortable. The room had lovely, big, opening windows. The breakfast was good and freshly prepared at a time of our choice. The town was very pleasant, make sure you visit the lace museum.
Review 20:Location not very well signposted so difficult to find. Rooms had very thin walls. Our sleep was disturbed by very loud snoring from an adjacent room. Shower badly designed
Review 21:Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 22:Comfortable room. Quiet, clean, excellent shower and facilities. Owners were welcoming and made us coffee on our arrival and did not want us to pay for this extra. We used this Hotel on our return journey because of this excellent service.
Review 23:Nothing.
Review 24:The location was good, and the staff friendly. The breakfast was very good. The restaurant in the hotel was closed so we ate at 'Le Boucherie', which was good. Staying at 'Le Chapeau Rouge' meant that we got a 20% discount on our bill.
Review 25:No tea making facilities in the room.
Review 26:This hotel was very easy to reach from the motorway (A28). It had a small private parking area which we wanted. The room was clean and tidy and the manager/owner very friendly.
Review 27:Free Wifi advertised but very poor signal so not able to use it.
Review 28:Flexible check in and breakfast times. Comfortable beds. Friendly and welcoming hosts. Clean and well equipped spacious room.
Review 29:We'd miscalculated how far Alencon was from the ferry so had to get up at 4.30 am the next morning. The staff were happy to provide our breakfast in a bag for us to 'take away' and eat en route. The rooms were clean, pleasantly & freshly decorated.
Review 30:nothing really to dislike although by the time we arrived it was too late to find a local restaurant and the hotel doesnt do food. They were however fine with us eating our macdonalds in the garden area.
Review 31:Clean friendly and welcoming staff eager to help great continental breakfast parking on site nice garden area to enjoy a drink on arrival after being in the car for hours great value for money would recommend and use again myself
Review 32:The couple seemed as though they owned the place. When we arrived, the lady offered us a cup of tea or coffee which we took as a nice gesture, until we got the bill the next day. If she wanted to offer us refreshments she should have said there was a charge, She was not knowledgable about things to do. For example she did not know that the tours were open on Sundays and she also said it was a long way to walk to town (15 minutes). My friend ordered room service dinner for 11.90 euros and it turned out to be a frozen dinner. It took over one hour to be delivered, perhaps they were defrosting it? The breakfast was only one cup of coffee or tea, with one croissant and two rolls and one yogurt. We ordered a plate of eggs and that cost an extra 4 euros. so for 11 euros that is what we got for breakfast. Other hotels had buffet for that price or slightly more. Very dissapointing. I think what was the worst was being offered what we thought was a complimentary refreshments. If we had asked for coffee or tea we would have expected to pay for it but don't offer something in a hostess style gracious way only to add it to the bill. The internet was terrible. I could not get a signal. They thought it was my computer but I had used it in other places with no problem. It was a secure network but the code didn't work. I would not recommend this place.
Review 33:Location was good, parking was next door but very small, a large car would not have fitted in the spaces.
Review 34:Car park rather small Walls a bit thin
Review 35:Very pleasant and helpful owners Easy to find Good to have food available even when arriving late Comfortable rooms Decent bathroom
Review 36:Can't fault anything except the parking was a bit tight but eventhat not a big problem.
