Reviews for Parador de Lerma

Review 1:Tapas overpriced and dishes came individually, rather than together. Cooked breakfast - scrambled eggs and bacon were lukewarm

Review 2:Beautiful palace. Easy parking. Staff friendly. Comfortable room

Review 3:We were half board and the evening meal menu was the same for our stay, which was two nights a choice of four staters and four main courses. We did not enjoy any of the courses provided I definitely would not book the evening meal again.

Review 4:The room was excellent and the staff were helpful. Breakfast as usual at the Paradors was 10/10. Magnificent views of the countryside. On Wednesday there is a nice market in the Plaza de Mayor.

Review 5:if you require a hot shower you have to run the water for 20 minutes before it becomes hot

Review 6:whole atmosphere about the parador the cafe meals excellent location with parking available in the playa del mayor at the hotel door

Review 7:Our room was beautiful with stunning views over the square. Public areas very grand with a feeling of history everywhere you turned. Breakfast excellent. Highly recommend.

Review 8:No hot water in our room. Complaint not very well received and it was still cold in the morning. We stayed again two weeks later and the same thing happened so we will never go to a Parador again.

Review 9:We were disappointed by the breakfast. The staff did their best, but it was very busy. The breakfast bar was not impressive, although the orange juice was lovely. We have had better breakfast and service in other Paradors.

Review 10:We liked the historic building and location. The town was fascinating. Lovely architecture. Hallowe'en week end was a great time to visit to enjoy Spanish entertainment. The hotel car parking was a great benefit to us since the Plaza Major was occupied.

Review 11:Waited for ages to have a drink in the lounge before dinner....no one came. Then realised you to had to ring a bell, which we had not noticed.

Review 12:Impressive hotel, lovely large, comfortable bedrooms. Gorgeous dinner and usual high standard Parador breakfast!

Review 13:Not much to do/see outside the Parador. Not enough made of the history of the place.

Review 14:Standard of accommodation excellent Staff extremely efficient

Review 15:Thought breakfast did not live up to rest of the hotel. Not very welcoming and the small room just had a poor atmosphere

Review 16:Everything except breakfast. Reception very helpful and friendly

Review 17:The restaurant was expensive and the alternatives appeared to be rather limited.

Review 18:Location, comfort, and value for money. The building itself was most impressive and well- maintained, despite its antiquity.

Review 19:Despite requesting separate beds, we were told 3 times that they had no single beds!!! Reception said we had requested a Superior double room and those did not have separate beds. They said they had no other bedrooms available!

Review 20:Very little!

Review 21:Loved the spacious and comfortable room with beautiful view of the town. We were visiting during the festival so all the bars and restaurants were alive with great food, wine and music.

Review 22:Wifi - needed to log on again after a while - it was very slow

Review 23:Location right in the square and close to the motorway - easily back onthe journey from southern Spain through France to uk.Setting and ambience of the building

Review 24:The room was very noisy i.e. insufficient soundproofing. Not all rooms have a sofa. Had to ask for a room with sofa.

Review 25:Convenient location for motorway. Staff were pleasant.

Review 26:the parador is a little out of the way, in lerma; about 20 miles from burgos and there was a bus to lerma but not real often

Review 27:the parador is spectacular; the town of lerma is also beautiful and picturesque

Review 28:Wi fi kept dropping out if device not used for a few minutes requiring constant log in

Review 29:Beautiful superior room on corner with extensive views Unbelievable breakfast selection and presentation Wonderful ambience

Review 30:Lobby as as dead as a doornail with no ambiance. This place could use a workout room

Review 31:Thank the little town of Lerma! I would never have experienced it with =out this hotel being the draw

Review 32:Dinner in the vaulted restaurant was poor. The regional menu sounded great, but my main dish was obviously microwaved with patches of hot and cold. What a shame.

Review 33:Disabled access was excellent and the staff were really helpful. Breakfast was good.

Review 34:The rooms are a little dark, especially the bathrooms, as a non Spanish speaker, I felt ignored in the Tapas Resturant, the food was lovely though.

Review 35:we like the decor, the comfort, the big rooms and the underground parking, the great lounge and the convenience to the motorway South

Review 36:TV had no option for watching programs in original version (as occurs in all other hotels in Spain) Breakfast very expensive and cup of tea dreadful Carpet in corridor had big kink and couldn't be straightened and I tripped over it

Review 37:Large room Easy to park

Review 38:Ninguna

Review 39:La ubicación del Parador, la arquitectura de su Palacio convertido en Parador, la atención del personal, su tranquilidad, limpieza y confort hacen que sea uno de mis favoritos

Review 40:No bad experience!

Review 41:Lerma Parador is well situated in a town just off the E5/A1 Autovista del Norte. Parking is easy and abundant. The hotel is tranquil The hotel has been restrored to an exemplary standard as befits its former use as a ducal palace. The room we stayed in was possibly the largest we have stayed in in any hotel in Spain (322 M2). Facilities in the room were very good and as with our previous experience with Paradors, the breakfast had a wide range of local delicacies (morecilla, migas). Finally, the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful

Review 42:Smokers at the front entrance! Huge flowerpots with sand so smokers could go outside to smoke but at the front door so we had to walk through a cloud of smoke - horrible. We were there in mid May but the air conditioning system had not been switched over from its other role as a heating system so the bedroom was hit.

Review 43:Attractive and impressive

Review 44:The WiFi was none existent and and on calling the reception for help was informed that there was possibly too many people using it. Disappointing as I had to go out in the rain to find a WiFi connection elsewhere. Not good enough for a hotel of this quality.

Review 45:Setting and the building +secure parking

Review 46:Nothing to dislike.

Review 47:Polite, friendly and helpful staff. Fabulous converted palace. We stayed in a large comfortable room with views over the surrounding countryside. The outside of the parador is currently under major refurbishment but we were not disturbed in any way. Secure parking.

Review 48:This is a delightful place. We loved everything - the helpful reception staff who took our luggage all the way from the secure underground car park to our spacious room - the wonderful covered central courtyard where we were served pre-dinner drinks and the superb dinner. We can recommend the house wine from the Lerma vineyard.

Review 49:We can't actually think of anything we didn't like.

Review 50:This Parador did not disappoint: it was warm, friendly, and just so historically fantastic - we loved it and will definitely return. We were returning to France and it was so easy to locate and very close to the main route. Town was quiet but then what do you expect in late January! We had arranged to use the private parking but it seemed totally unnecessary as the town appeared safe & quiet so we dispensed with that idea.

Review 51:We had no hot water they did offer to change our room; but as we had already been told that there was no fault with the system we had no confidence and we had unpacked and relaxed.

Review 52:Beautiful building in great location and on first entry magnificent but cold in atmosphere.

Review 53:The weather !!!

Review 54:Phenomenal building in a nice location ideal for break in travel from Valencia to Santander. Rather expensive but I suppose you get what you pay for !! Wonderful breakfast & ate in a restaurant in the square which seemed to delight in over facing you !!! MASSIVE PORTIONS !!!! Good experience helping to spend the kids inheritance!!

Review 55:The staff were a bit cool, maybe because their English is not good. If you don't speak Spanish it's difficult. But they were very helpful.

Review 56:A beautiful parador in a quiet little town which is interesting in itself and excellently placed for visiting Burgos. The hotel restaurant was excellent.

Review 57:Fantastic ducal palace converted into a luxury hotel overlooking the town's Plaza Mayor. Large, high-ceilinged, cool guest rooms arranged round an impressive central, colonnaded courtyard which is now the hotel's main public area, with comfortable sofas and chairs. Lerma is an atmospheric, old town with a high gastronomic reputation. Conveniently situated just off the main autovia between Madrid and Burgos.

Review 58:The service at breakfast was apalling. Cold fried eggs and bacon and tepid tea. But then to spend 10 minutes trying to find a waiter to correct it was frustrating and we had to leave. Even the kitchen was deserted. 9.15 am !!

Review 59:It is a beautiful building in a delightful location that could be recommended to anyone.

Review 60:Wifi did not work in the room only in the lounge bar

Review 61:Its a spectacular building, on arrival we were offered an upgrade for €30 to a bigger corner room, well worth it. The bar is splendid. Will I stay again, yes.

Review 62:It is overpriced especially the food, so much so, that we won't be staying here again even though we are in the Amigos Club.

Review 63:Have stayed here a few times now due to its convenient and pleasant location. The food is of good standard and its historical interest is always a pleasure.

Review 64:The staff at the front desk was not nice at all.

Review 115:Peaceful atmosphere.

Review 116:Location Ambience Comfort The swifts and swallows circling The storks on the tower Delicious foods and wines. Peacefulness

Review 117:Dinner, very Spanish.

Review 118:The rooms and staff

Review 119:Main restaurant quite cold, air conditioning in floor. Could do with some background music to help create warmer atmosphere, but here again staff wonderful.

Review 120:Beautiful building in a superb position. Very warm and friendly welcome, staff very professional and helpful.

Review 121:The meal was formulaic; the same menu as last year and one of our main courses, the lamb chops barely edible. We have eaten much better meals in Spain at half the price.

Review 122:The building, a ducal palace and the setting are amazing. The bedroom was spacious with far-reaching views . The main salon is superb.

The Fine Print

Children up to 12 years old using extra beds will be charged 25% of the standard room rate per child, per night. The town of Lerma celebrates the Patron Saint Festival between the 30 August and the 9 September, with music and attractions until the early hours. For this reason, the Parador cannot guarantee the peace and quiet that it would usually hope to offer.During the festivities, the Plaza Mayor and Plaza de San Blas will be closed off to parking. You will be able to park at the rear of the hotel or in the hotel garage, with an additional cost. Please note that drinks are not included in the Half Board and Full Board rates.
