Reviews for Hostal Villa Verde
Review 1:Only thing that could be improved for us is the wifi being extended to the bedrooms as we found we could only pick it up in the main building.
Review 2:Location for us was perfect. Extremely pretty, very clean, quiet. Superb views and a lovely breakfast.
Review 3:No air conditioning but not a problem for us at all as the room was nice and airy
Review 4:Lovely location and nice room with view over the rear garden and to the mountains
Review 5:The first night is paid by credit card. The rest needs to be paid cash. The invoice is a handwritten piece of paper...
Review 6:The view is amazing. The breakfast on the terrace is really nice.
Review 7:The breakfast was a bit disappointing, but again, absolutely fine, and the coffee was good! I don't know if there was WiFi, but I certainly wasn't picking any up.
Review 8:I had a terrace with a beautiful view, and that's in a way all I was after. The location is beautiful, and the room (mini-apartment) was absolutely fine. It's a no frills place, but nothing wrong with that.
Review 9:It's far from sound proof. You could here many sounds during the night, from cars, animals and from the village. But we also kept the windows open as it was hot.
Review 10:Very comfortable room and nice private terrace. Friendly owners and guests.
Review 11:The wifi works, but only in the hotel lobby (not in the rooms). If you have problems with mobilty, it might be hard to walk up the steep hill to get to the hotel (it wasnt a problem for us, but i could imagine that it could be for some) Also, there were so many wasps in the courtyard that you couldnt enjoy it ( but that was the same with all of Deia when we were there).
Review 12:Everything was wonderful! The room was very nice and the views from the courtyard ( were you can have breakfast) are spectacular! Really a very good stay, I would recommend to anyone.
Review 13:very uncomfortable beds very poor Wifi connection too much wasp on the terrace it made it very difficult to eat breakfast there
Review 14:The view from the bedroom, the location in a lovely village
Review 15:Nothing!
Review 16:Absolutely stunning location in the heart of Deia. Really convenient for walking along the coast and in the mountains, and exploring Deia itself. Beautiful accommodation with balconies and terraces that boasted wonderful views of the mountains and town. A perfect place to return to after a day of hiking and exploring.
Review 17:WiFi was poor.
Review 18:The location is fabulous, beautiful views from the terrace and easy walking distance to all parts of the village and bus stop to other locations. Although the staff have limited English, they were keen to help with any queries and we had some fun lost in translation moments with them. Excellent shower, which is great after a hike or afternoon on the beach. Will definitely stay again!
Review 19:Nobody was welcoming , or made us feel comfortable. We knew there was no a/c,however, a fan should have been provided.
Review 20:The quaint, clean, room, beautiful setting.
Review 21:The views are amazing. Waking up to the trees and nature, and pure silence was ideal. The room was big and very clean. Villa Verde is in the heart of Deia, so it is easy to get anywhere.
Review 22:Spectacular mountain view from the room. Breakfast included on sunny terrace. Terrace also lovely for evening drinks. Friendly & helpful staff. Table tennis table. Good position near St. John the Baptist Church and village centre.
Review 23:Too hot at night. No air con or a fan made it difficult to sleep. Going later in the year we thought it would be cooler & no need for the above but Majorca's weather stayed hot! Which was lovely but not for sleeping and walking in. As we stayed for a few days we would have liked a little variation for breakfast or a fridge & tea making facilities in the room.
Review 24:We had a lovely stay, the room we had was spacious, very clean and comfortable. It was a great base to explore from.
Review 25:COST !!!! Totally over priced compared to similar accommodation experienced within the same week. Torn sheets on bed. No toiletries in bathroom. No compensation for absence of water & electric.
Review 26:Location & views
Review 27:No aircon, there were fans though.
Review 28:Comfortable rooms, breakfast was basic but more than adequate. Oasis of calm with fabulous views from the terrace. Great hosts. Magical stay.
Review 29:The bedroom had no air con and we found it very hot at night, there was an electric fan and it did feel safe enough to sleep with the windows open but even so it was very warm.
Review 30:The views from the terrace and from our bedroom (1) were beautiful. I liked the atmosphere and antiques, it gave a rustic charm to the property.
Review 31:Lovely terraces and quiet atmosphere. Very close to the centre of the village. The room we stayed in had a great view across the village and to the mountains around Daia. Good breakfast. Daia is a wonderful village and do visit the home of Robert Graves. Thanks.
Review 32:Our twin room was located down below the main building which meant climbing up 50 steps to get to the top and the main building.for breakfast and to exit the Hostal. The breakfast was quite poor fresh bread was supplied on only 2 days out of 7 and no fresh fruit. We had very noisy neighbours above our room who kept us awake. into the small hours.I would not recommend for the mature traveller although the rooms in the main building may have been better
Review 33:Had very good views over Deia . It had a table tennis table
Review 34:Wifi didn't work, and the couple who run the hotel hadn't a clue why it didn't work. No air conditioning (but it is a two star property) so we didn't expect it
Review 35:lovely terrace with great views Very clean, comfortable bed, good size room, older house with character Great location, but it is up quite a steep hill Breakfast simple but fine and no extra charge for it For a 2 star property really nice
Review 36:Wifi was very poor, staff was not to helpfull and breakfest was rather small (very little portions and choice)
Review 37:Views, typical mallorcan design in the room, nice tarrace for guests.
Review 38:Had to go to lobby and terrace area to use wifi. No parking on premises.
Review 39:Really liked our stay here. Had a great room with an awesome view of the mountains. Very quiet and the décor in the hotel lobby, breakfast room and terrace was adorable. Very clean
Review 40:No fridge to keep cold drinks, no facilities to make a drink. We wee concerned that when we arrived we were asked to pay in cash for the remainder of our time there, this should be on the web page, if they do not wish to offer a debit/credit card facility
Review 41:The location and views were fantastic!! The breakfast was basic but extremely well presented and what was offered was lovely.
Review 42:Bed was a little too hard for my taste WLAN was slow and only in the living room area. COnnection outside on the terrace was very weak.
Review 43:Location View of the mountains and the village valley The rustical original Feeling of being in a majorcan village Good breakfast Friendly and helpful host
Review 44:The wifi was a bit slow.
Review 45:Amazing place! The garden is super nice, and eating breakfast here while watching the mountains is just the perfect way to start the day. Very good location just a quick walk from the main street, but still quiet and great views. Also welcoming and pleasant staff. Highly recommended!
Review 46:I spend much of my working life in hotels of all kinds, so I try to beobjective about each one, and I realize that it is unfair to compare a5star luxury establishment at 300+ euro a night, with that of a modestfamily run hostel. However, I do believe in the concept of value formoney, and I do also believe that a minimum amount of service andamenities should be available in today's age when you are payingover a certain amount of money. So, whilst not unpleasant, as rusticaccommodations go, unfortunately, the Hostal Villa Verde manages to hitvery few of the right boxes to make it "recommendable"; Hereis a sample of the main issues that I think could benefit fromimprovement: No parking at the hostel (it is a small hill-top villagehotel so nobody's fault) but what is advertised as free publicparking is usually always occupied by locals, so clarify this with thehostel before booking. There is no wifi in the rooms (Booking.comdescription a little ambiguous on this point) and although I didn'ttry it out, I would want to check that whatever wifi there is firstbefore relying on enough speed to have that Skype video conference youmust attend. There was no tv of any kind in my room, no shampoo or gel, just one (solitary) mini bar of soap for both sink and shower usage.Breakfast is spartan and basic and when I arrived mid afternoon, thestaff was indifferent (preferring to watch south American soap operas onthe communal tv than identify themselves as staff and if I needed anyassistance), though I should add that when onsite, the owner isprofessional in a minimalistic way. There is a perplexing sign in officesaying that they only accept cash payments (they do have a credit cardmachine btw). But none of that would really matter if the pricereflected the level of service - it doesn't, not even close.
Review 47:Location, it had rooms available. Views from the valley facing rooms andgreat terrace views.
Review 48:Deia traffic is too busy for me. This has nothing to do with the hostal however. I think Deia should put traffic bumps at least 1/2 kilometre outside of town.
Review 49:lovely staff and owners wonderful private little porch and table under the grape arbour!
Review 50:Beautifully run by local mallorqians, authentic and friendly.
Review 51:Difficult to find. A little more variety on the breakfast menu would have been good.
Review 52:Simplicity of accommodation and helpfulness of all staff
Review 53:My room was quite big but there are others that are quite small.
Review 54:Location was perfect, breakfast was basic but nice.
Review 55:Beautiful rustic peaceful place with wonderful views.
Review 56:Spacious bedroom with amazing view.
Review 57:No Wi-Fi
Review 58:Excellent location, steep hill to get to but worth the views! Parking close by. Traditional malloracan decor.
Review 59:Great room with a living area and little kitchen. Also a mini terrace with a table. We wish we'd been there for longer than 1 night!
Review 60:Wonderful location signposted from main road. Narrow road to get there. Lovely stay

Review 69:Location,view, apartment was ideal.

Review 82:Loved the location and surrounding. Rustic little Hostal with friendly staff and very cute rooms.
Review 83:Orange juice and coffee at breakfast could both have been better.
Review 84:Good quiet room with great bathroom and shower, good terrace, excellent views from both. Great location. This is close to La Residencia, and one tenth the price.
Review 85:Bed was a bit hard. Coffee at breakfast was not very hot. A bit difficult to find at night with one-way system. Sometimes difficult to find parking space.
