Reviews for Hotel Jerez & Spa

Review 1:Breakfast poor quality, beans congealed on spoon Pay for use of pool Too distant for walking to main shopping area More commercial than leisure

Review 2:Good facilities Free parking Good location for getting to and from by car Nice bar Good reception staff Spacious room and bathroom

Review 3:Choose the hotel as it had Spa and indoor pool facilities but they were closed during the hours of our stay. (Sunday afternoon & Monday morning)

Review 4:Great room. Room service food was good value and very tasty. Big selection at the breakfast buffet.

Review 5:The spa was not open during our stay (Sunday afternoon to Monday morning) and that was a particular reason that we had chosen to book this hotel so that was very disappointing. Spa opening times should have been advertised clearly in the hotel description so we were aware of this before we booked.

Review 6:The staff were very helpful, especially with printing out boarding passes

Review 7:Rooms could be cleaned better and staff need to be more attentive. The cost of the spa needs to be made clearer before booking and the hotel needs to better facilitate booking of spa treatments. Room service needs to offer a more full menu 24hrs.

Review 8:The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Restaurant and bar food is very good.

Review 9:Hotel was very convenient for the town and to get to the airport the next day. The facilities (swimming pool etc ) were good and the room was comfortable.

Review 10:A minor point- some of the sun beds were saggy and could do with replacement.

Review 11:The staff were very kind and helpful. The gardens were beautiful.Room service was swift and reasonably priced. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety. It was good to have free car parking in the hotel car park. The Spa treatment I had was very good. I would happily consider staying again.

Review 12:The hotel had a pervasive odour of sewerage, the room was extremely budget, the availability of a coffee in the morning was restricted, you were only permitted to drink a coffee if you were prepared to pay for a full breakfast.

Review 13:Very little, the location was the only endearing factor

Review 14:lack of vegetarian choices on restaurant menu, way to swimming pool and misinformation about swimming pool towels was a bit confusing

Review 15:breakfast very nice, the size of rooms, parking on site, swimming pool

Review 16:Staff at reception were not particularly friendly Beds & pillows were not very comfortable, difficult to sleep well with these Breakfast poor, carboard croissants, greasy fried offering, but good coffee and continental offering

Review 17:The half door on the shower made keeping water in the tub and not on the floor difficult even with being careful.

Review 18:Staff was very helpful; easy to change dollars to euros with no fee. Pool area was very pretty and clean; well maintained hotel and grounds. The breakfast was sumptuous!

Review 19:There were 2 wedding parties whilst we were there, think this should be communicated to guests before booking. The bar shut at 11.30 every night and they even shut off the lights when we were sat outside!

Review 20:Clean and good value for money

Review 21:Fabulous room. We toured Spain staying in 5 hotels in total and this was the best. Children loved the pool and the best breakfast by far. Will definitely go back as one night was not enough.

Review 22:Cool quiet air conditioning in the bedrooms Exceptionally comfortable & generous size twin beds, clean new cotton sheets (& square pillow & bolster). Delightful pool. Lovely "old school" Spanish ambience.

Review 23:Lovely clean and comfortable hotel with a great pool area. Great choice at breakfast and the yummy dinner deals. Particularly good for families with small children.

Review 24:The hotel was like a little oasis, lovely pool - plenty big enough to have a proper swim but with enough shallow to keep the kids happy too. Staff very helpful and friendly, rooms clean, breakfast buffet very good value. Would visit again.

Review 25:Internet didn't work for first 30 hours. Staff very unfriendly and denied that hotel had a problem and tried to blame my own computer. Breakfast starts at 8, and they kicked up a fuss when I got a coffe at 7.50am. Not enough staff. You have to wait at reception quite a lot.

Review 26:Staff are relentlessly lovely. But there's not enough of them. Pool is great.

Review 27:I did like almost nothing! Not really comfortable, the room was old and out of maintenance, the hotel was the same, very noisy...

Review 28:Basically, the only good point of the hotel is the location

Review 29:Had to ask a 4 days on end to bring us more toiletries (some of them they were permanently out of stock!) so I just went to the shop and bought it myself. There were no bottle opener/glasses/etc in the room, had to ask for them every time, or in some cases even go downstairs if we need to open a bottle. Apparently guests steal a lot from hotel, so hotel management gives you as little as possible to avoid this. Food in the hotel is not great, in 3 weeks being there we used their restaurant only twice, in between breakfast/lunch/dinner time you cannot have anything to eat apart from dry ham sandwich. We had only one nice smiley waiter, that's was very helpful, everybody else - well no point to continue. Reception was helpful most of the time when we understood each other (they have little English, me - little Spanish). They never bothered to correct and merge our 2 separate bookings in one, so one day we found ourselves locked out of the room - as per their system we were supposed to check out and check into same room again. For that same reason when checking out we were informed that they already charged our credit card, on my protest that i wanted to pay with different card, old man in reception said I should talk to accounts department next day (I.e. the day after I leave hotel and country). I told him he could do a refund and charge another card, he granted but finally managed to do it (I bet he never done it before!). The last bit - after staying for 3 weeks in the hotel I would have expected at least 'thank you for staying with us' at the end as one would normally hear all around the world on hotel check out.

Review 30:We had a few weeks stay in this hotel, the location is not central but it served our purpose & was only 20min walk to the centre of town. Pool is nice - that's all about positives.

Review 31:Very stylish hotel near the city center (3 min drive) with private parking. Spacious and elegant room. Staff very friendly and efficient. Wi-fi worked fine.

Review 32:THE SPA WAS TERRIBLE STAFF NOT VERY HELPFUL, BREAKFAST WAS BAD WE ORDERED TWO BREAKFASTS FOR THE ROOM AND ONLY ONE ARRIVED. I USED TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL FREQUENTLY I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY IT HAS GONE FROM A 5 STAR TO A 4 STAR. WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN.

Review 33:THE LOCATION WAS NICE AND QUIET.

Review 34:Hotel let down by its restaurants (one in the hotel open only at lunch time) the other an outside adjoining patio evening restaurant - both have same menu which does not change so not good if staying for several days. Apart from breakfast the restaurants let the hotel down, would have expected better from 4 star hotel.

Review 35:A good hotel only a short bus ride from the city centre (2.20 euros for two). Excellent grounds and pool area would not think you were staying in central Seville. Excellent parking.

Review 36:Waiting and serving Staff seemed overworked and expressionless. Very slow service due to long distance between catering areas and Prep areas. There really ought to be an outside pool bar vendo. Shirtless men in wet shorts queuing at cafe bar for a drink is a little off putting. .especially when eating. The hotel was not particularly busy either. The spa needs to be more proactive in marketing products. By the time I'd received the price list it was too late to book anything. The opening hours need to be longer too.

Review 37:The pool and outside areas. The huge bedroom with free basic mini bar. Helpful reception staff for taxis directions etc. even posted an urgent letter for me. The patio area in the event was beautiful and a free fino very much appreciated.

Review 38:Nothing. NB - if you don't hire a bicycle, it's a long walk into town.

Review 39:Lovely pool and garden. Great breakfast. Free bicycle (plus 15 euros p/day for the 2nd one). comfortable hotel.

Review 40:Nothing really to dislike, our air conditioning did not work on the first night of our stay but the next morning when we reported it the receptionist rang to report it staightaway.

Review 41:This is a good hotel within nice grounds and has a lovely pool, the staff are friendly and helpful. And we would stay here again

Review 42:No bad experience, very pleased with everything.

Review 43:Staff very friendly and professional , clean rooms with good facilities, location of hotel good, pool and gardens excellent . Very good choice at breakfast, definitely recommend

Review 44:When we arrived having booked a superior double room, we were disappointed to find the room had not been cleaned and was much smaller than the one advertised on booking.com. We were upgraded to a junior suite at no extra cost, however the room was very noisy due to traffic and gardeners using loud machinery. There is an additional charge for guests to use the spa and indoor pool, which is not advertised beforehand. The spa bath in the room didnt work, nor did the spa shower leaving dangerous parts sticking out.

Review 45:The room service was very good, and the food excellent.

Review 46:No issues at all.

Review 47:Comfortable, clean rooms, great pool, good range of breakfast food, helpful staff, only a mile to walk into the centre of town. Very good value for money.

Review 48:Construction work on one day. After speaking to reception there was no noise the following day. I spent the day at the pool which was quiet and restful. Overall a very peaceful stay which was the purpose of my visit.

Review 49:The room was very clean and spacious with a balcony overlooking the tennis court.Large wardrobes and nice bathroom with room to spread out. The staff were outstanding...very helpful and pleasant despite my poor Spanish. I felt very well looked after.Breakfast was absolutely lovely!Disabled traveller well catered for.

Review 50:Nothing much to report - breakfast needed upgrading a bit but staff happy to supply fresh orange juice and freshly cooked eggs

Review 51:The swimming pool was excellent.

Review 52:The spa was closed when we arrived (Sunday afternoon) and not due to re-open until Monday 5pm after which time we'd already left. Part of the reason we booked this hotel was for the spa so this was a shame, perhaps the opening hours should be clearly displayed. The door from our room led straight out onto the poolside, the lock was quite old and flimsy.

Review 53:The grounds were lovely. It was too cold to try the outdoor swimming pool but it was of a good size and well maintained. The staff were polite, the rooms were old fashioned and dated but comfortable. We had a view of the pool which was nice although not very private. It was a 20 minute walk to the centre but there is a taxi rank outside the hotel.

Review 54:Wifi in the room had a weak signal but good in the lounge area near reception.

Review 55:Clean and comfortable room with a balcony. Didn't use the hotel facilities so can't comment.

Review 56:It was March and raining and it would have been really nice if we could have taken our 2 and a half year old to the pool but children under 12 are not allowed.

Review 57:A kettle in the room for tea/coffee would have been great. Also be aware it is not in centre of Jerez town, but there are local buses that reception staff can advise on, that take you either to the train station or the main square. Also taxis just outside the hotel, ride to centre was 5-6 euro.

Review 58:Pool area was open already late march, and it was possible to swim. Breakfast options had a great variety, restaurant catered for all needs. Room was large and comfortable. Excellent value for money and a very relaxing hotel.

Review 59:Housekeeping was a little over enthusiastic. Cleaners came at inconvenient times. We had to wait to get back into our rooms after breakfast, which delayed our daily sightseeing. Have never had this in an hotel before! An, finally, big problem, no loo brush provided!

Review 60:Spacious room and balcony with good outlook over the pool area. Good food and service in the restaurant with friendly staff. A very well run hotel in a lovely city.

Review 61:Had to pay an extra 10 euros PER PERSON to use the pool plus 50 cents to hire a towell! The lady at the spa wouldn't let us swim before paying. We suggested it was charged to our room but NO she folliwed us into the changing room to make us sign her form... clearly thought we were going to do a runner !

Review 62:Lovely landscaped grounds and communal spaces .

Review 63:Room should have included slippers and robes but not there. Slippers were readily supplied when asked but robes were more of a problem until I showed them my confirmation. Spa was a let down as required a further 10 euros per person per visit but lovely albeit cold outdoor pool.

Review 64:Location is great. Staff more than pleasant and speak good English. Large bright comfortable room with good amenities. Cold buffet breakfast good but hot choice not as good.

Review 65:booked the hotel especially for the indoor pool....told we had to purchase slip-ons and a hat and that it would cost 20 euros for one hour...would have cost us 67 euros for our three days there and only one hours a day - which we declined as excessive so would not book again. Manager offered a 7 euro discount !!!! poor.. Food not substantial...bread rolls not fresh...not enough written information about equestrian centre - bodegas - times - costs

Review 66:was nice and warm and good that we could control the C.H. in our room...hotel spacious and looked good....nice area to relax in....staff friendly.

Review 67:A bit selective access to SPA (but they ended being very flexible, and I did not find the time to go).

Review 68:Very nice staff, rooms are nice and comfortable, location is good (if you have a car - not ideal for tourists), staff is very friendly and helpful.

Review 69:Some of the staff at the front desk and restaurant weren't as courteous.

Review 70:Miriam in the front desk was particularly efficient and charming. The bed was very comfortable and the linen fantastic. At all times the hotel was peaceful and quiet.

Review 71:Wifi reception in room poor

Review 72:Welcome, Quality of staff, comfortable room, good food and wine and decent breakfast, excellent free car park and good location

Review 73:Rooms facing tennis courts are disturbed by non residents children lessons ( upto 10 on one court) early evening. Lots of screaming but not much learning. WiFi not fully functional and no connections in our room

Review 74:Good comfortable hotel - easy to find/park and convenient for the city sights. Friendly service and nice buffet breakfast. Great pool although not used this time. Third stay and will do so again even if wi fi a problem.

Review 75:There was honestly not much that I didn't like. I felt that the room just needed a bit of a modern make-over as it looked a little tired, lacked a modern splash of color and some of the woodwork features had seen better days. Wifi: I was told when I checked in that the hotel wifi had been improved, and delightfully, I only needed to log-in once and my devices automatically reconnected. On the other hand, I found the connection speed slow, not snail-slow, but really not what I would expect from this type of premium city hotel and I am not sure that I would have been able to have made any trouble-free Skype calls which, are extremely important to business needs. I hope that the connection speed is still a work in progress and it will be faster when I next return.

Review 76:The hotel is well located and easy to find. The reception staff were professional and obviously on top of their game. The lobby area is spacious and well appointed. The room I stayed in (117) on the ground floor was spacious and well appointed, with a flat screen tv, excellent selection of national and international channels. The bathroom was also spacious and the shower had pressure and the amenities were excellent. I didn't eat at the restaurant or have breakfast, so cannot review the quality of either. There is also an outdoor pool in the central patio, though I don't know if it is heated. I didn't try the spa.

Review 77:The spa was very poor. Dirty and with a dangerous hand rail in the jacuzzi. Reception staff obviously bored, and very unhelpful.

Review 78:Rooms were nice. Price out of season was very good.

Review 79:Was disappointed with the spa only had a jacuzzi and two pressure fountains

Review 80:The hotel was very clean the staff very helpful, the hotel just felt nice. We had problems with safe and air conditioning but they put it right as soon as we informed them. Overall a very nice stay and will be returning soon.

Review 81:The hotel was advertised as being a spa hotel and as such I expected free entry for basic experience. I agree that payment was expected for spa treatments.

Review 82:Steam bath in Spa not operational. Very strong smelling disinfectant used when cleaning room.

Review 83:Excellent and helpful staff. Good place for a short break. Spa was good bonus.

Review 84:Spa area, which we had to pay entrance fees to (10EUR p.p.), is really very basic.

Review 85:Vicinity to airport as we arrived late was absolutely priceless. Very quiet and well maintained. Friendly reception staff, spacious room, generally good facilities.

Review 86:Far from the city center, 30 mins by foot. Taxi only 5 euros. You can only use special hotel towels, but you have to pay a 5 euros deposit at the front desk which will be returned afterwards.

Review 87:Great big swimming pool with a lot of sun beds. Free parking!

Review 88:Details as picking up the tray on request, and not refreshing the room on the afternoon after it has not been cleaned in the morning. Denying late checkout without even pretend to check for availability

Review 89:Pool Room size Room beds Clean bathroom

Review 90:Wi-Fi connection didn't extend to our room, but worked fine at pool, lobby etc.

Review 91:Price (special offer) Pool is absolutely brilliant; very large and well organised Terrace to quiet garden Free Parking (in shade) Air conditioning Beds Cleanliness Room service 24/24 Restaurant And more

Review 92:Not central but only 5 euro taxi ride from the centre and on a bus route.

Review 93:The excellent sized swimming pool and offering spa facilities (although we didn't use them). Also not many children about but I guess that was just good luck! We also found an excellent tapas bar "La Esparteria" near by - go no further, it was excellent.

Review 94:Breakfast was expensive, €12 for kids and adults. Dinner at the restaurant was decent enough but still a little expensive.

Review 95:Great location to Jerez circuit. Lovely pool and garden. Nice rooms with comfortable beds and good breakfast

Review 96:Service in hotels 'Los naranjas' restaurant for evening meal very poor and chicken and pork served seriously undercooked. Hotel too far away from city centre. No restaurants nearby, only bars.

Review 97:Lovely pool Rooms nice with good balcony Interconnecting rooms

Review 98:Breakfast was limited and poor as was the dining area. The dinner was the worst possible- awful. Millions of screaming kids

Review 99:The room was a good size

Review 100:Room overlooking the pool was really wonderful. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The pool is a huge plus and you can spend the whole day there. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was at a good time and had a good arrange.

Review 101:- breakfast price - swimming pool open from 11 am (not earlier)

Review 102:- big room and the bathroom - very clean - good and effective aircondition - welcome drink included - lobby bar open to the night with a live guitar music - good atmosphere - free car parking - very helpfull staff

Review 103:There is a nice bar that overlooks the pool which closes around 8:30 pm and you can then choose to head out in to town, or, if you want to stay in the hotel you are shuffled out to the outside bar by the road.

Review 104:Very nice hotel with great pool. Good, efficient and friendly staff.

Review 105:Poor WIFI connection. Cycling teams were based in the car park which made parking problematic. Definitely not 5-star quality, should be 4-star.

Review 106:Good-sized room. Not too far from centre. Nice pool.

Review 107:Friday evening meal little bit disappointing. But venue enjoyable, although our table was too close to the stage with the Flamenco singer, too loud.

Review 108:Ambience of hotel lovely. Pool area very comfortable. Enjoyed lunch menu and breakfast. Staff helpful and pleasant.

Review 109:We had a business trip with president of a wellness and spa global association. At breakfast he asked was there coffee instead of the guy getting it for him he pointed to where the self service coffee was. Then obviously having thought about it came back and said to the guest "I will make an exception on this occasion" and proceeded to bring the coffee to him. Honestly we were all quiet taken back as it's obviously 5 star.

Review 110:Lack of customer service Failure to address our complaint, No dinner sorted or welcome gift and cava even though we paid for both. Food options are nil for vegetarians . Staff don't care that you are not getting what you paid for and although it was suggested we email the director about the way we where treated he has failed to respond some four days after we returned from the trip. Do not book a romantic getaway as you will not get what you pay for.

Review 111:Location to city centre, nice pool but no beds available after 11 am.

Review 112:Very good location, you can walk to centre, close to hipercor, close to shopping centre, gas station, qiuet, has everything you need for comfort staying. Private parking. If you like sport you can play tennis, or run in neighbourhood. Has very nice restaurant by the street. Rooms are spacious, clean, with soft beds.

Review 113:Restaurant /bar closed at about 8.30pm meaning a limited choice of food at the ouside patio bar.

Review 114:Proximity to equestrian centre. Value for money.

Review 115:Very friendly and helpful staff fluent in English. Nice clean, comfortable and quite room. Excellent breakfast.

Review 116:We got twin beds even though I've explicitly asked for a double bed.

Review 117:Outdoor swimming pool is really nice. Room bright and clean.

Review 118:The cost of drinks at the bar are too expensive and the restaurant serves fast food

Review 119:There is no indication that the spa has an extra cost when booking. No kettle etc in room....

Review 120:Everything was generally fine and good value for sure

Review 121:Everything shuts by 12.00am at the bar so no night cap when you return from going out

Review 122:Sherry on arriving,great pool,great room, bed,linen

Review 123:Ambience of the hotel, very clean and relaxing

Review 124:Very friendly staff. Hotel well sited with excellent facilities.

Review 125:very helpful staff! great rooms!

Review 126:All stay was very good. No complaints whatsoever.

Review 127:Very nice established hotel

Review 128:close to the equestrian school, where I rode and very good value for money

Review 129:Breakfast was not very good. We have baby, no kettle provided in room

Review 130:Nice pool area
