Reviews for Hostal Miramar
Review 1:Beautiful house with a room which had wonderful views over Deia and the sea. Lovely breakfast, very kind host, very clean room. Enjoyed the short walk back up the hill after dinner at night.
Review 2:Owned and managed by Antonia - she is a delightful, gracious and welcoming individual. I speak Spanish so we enjoyed some interesting short conversations together. The renovation of this older traditional townhouse situation above the village of Deia, is very well done - the style of modern with the past architecture is stunning. I loved my bedroom, my bed, my pillow, the breakfast, and above all, the simple intimacy of Hostal Miramar. I have already recommended it to several friends.
Review 3:The plumbing too is rather old but it goes with the house ! The walk up from town might be a problem for some people but its worth it !
Review 4:We were greeted in Spanish and all the guests were spoken to only in Spanish throughout, and for Deia that's quite a novelty. The landlady is a delight and has lived there all her life. The house is 200 years old with beautiful furniture and situated up a flight of stone steps from the town. The view of the town is stunning. We liked the fact that there were no televisions in the rooms but there were pictures everywhere which were painted by the family in the past.
Review 5:Paper thin walls. I think someone upstairs was very I'll most of the night.
Review 6:The action was perfect. The breakfast spot on. The owner was pleasant and helpful. Cheap for location.
Review 7:Ice cold room when we arrived from our hike in the mist and wind, lukewarm water in the shower. No possibility to warm up. Landlady told us restaurants were opening at 19:30-20:00. We arrived in town and only 1 place had their kitchen open after 20:00. Completely wrong info
Review 8:Decent breakfast
Review 9:no refreshment facilities in hotel-if you required a drink or snack it was a steep walk down into the town-not good if you had walking difficuties
Review 10:setting overlooking Deya was beautiful
Review 11:Officially the squeakiest beds in the world. We had double with en suite, very basic and damp wardrobe and communal toilet right outside our room which was very noisy. No facilities to get tea/coffee or even water within premises after breakfast finished
Review 12:Beautiful location, breakfast ok, standard meats and cheese, spotlessly clean, had cats which pleased my wife.
Review 13:It's a little bit difficult to park in such tight quarters.
Review 14:It's quiet, we can see the stars at night, the air is so fresh and the breakfast was very nice too
Review 15:Nothing to complain. It´s a basic hostel so do not expect too much luxury.
Review 16:- Excellent location with a nice view - Nice atmosphere and nice staff. Be careful the staff only speaks Spanish and no English or German.
Review 17:Room was pretty old fashioned
Review 18:Beautiful view from the room, owner was very kind
Review 19:Not relevant.
Review 20:Very friendly helpful staff. Excellent location
Review 21:Wonderful place to stay. Great host. Very clean. Wonderful views of town below.
Review 22:Lovely landlady, the place had a charm that reminded me of childhood. Recommended.
Review 23:Charming, old, rural Mallorquin homely feel. Welcoming. Short walk to Deia village. Fairytale view and setting. Amazing breakfast!
Review 24:There wasn't anything that I didnt like
Review 25:The location was great and the owner was lovely and very helpful
Review 26:Quiet, cosy and friendly atmosphere! Nice wiew to the sea! Good breakfast.
Review 27:The bed was vers noisy.
Review 28:The ambiance
Review 29:not good hearing a pump motor running at 5 minute intervals all night long!
Review 30:Location
Review 31:Position, view, style of the house and of the managment, breakfast and the cats of the patio!
Review 32:Generous breakfast, lovely friendly owner, traditional furniture in rooms but most of all the view of Deia from our bedroom.
Review 33:Watch out for mosquitos at night!
Review 34:The drive from Palma to Deya alone is enough to make any traveler swoon. To then be welcomed by the warm and hospitable staff at family owned Hostal Miramar was an additional treat. We stayed in a room overlooking the entire town and out to the sea--walking distance from the sights, sounds, smells, shops and gorgeous cobblestone streets of this enchanting town perched in the hills. Our room and shared bathroom were exceptionally clean and tidy. The structure itself is old and charming, kept in great condition be its owner. She is a lovely person who serves a light breakfast (of meats, cheeses, breads, and yogurt, along with the region's famous orange juice) with a bright smile.
Review 35:The location is terrific, top of the village with the beautiful views. With parking on site, you can leave your car parked and walk to shops & restaurants. The hostess is very kind. The breakfast was plentiful & enjoyable out in the garden, overlooking the village. Great value for what you pay, very basic. The rooms are small, but clean. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay.
Review 36:Very traditional and quiet. Had a beautifully furnished room with double doors overlooking the village down to the sea. Breakfasts were amazing and different each day.
Review 37:Décor in the room was a bit oppressive with a picture of people burning in hell. We had a shared toilet with no sink inside. i hated to think that everyone had no choice but to touch that handle without being able to wash hands. otherwise it was clean enough. the place was exclusive enough in that it was in a very small traditional town, but the price for a room without bathroom was a bit much.
Review 38:wonderful view over Deia. traditional room in local house.
Review 39:The room furnishing was traditional and bulky with only one table / desk and one bedside cabinet. Limited, useful surfaces. It may have helped if the table had been a chest-of-drawers. The bedside cabinet had no door knob: just the spike of the fixing screw left. Only one bedside light. Wash-basin had no hot water. Bathroom adequate. Shower temperature difficult to control. Towel rail hanging off the wall from obviously loose screws. The services of a competent handyman could make a big difference.
Review 40:Great location, and view from our room was beautiful. The bed was comfortable. Host was very friendly and tried hard to please, though she was not able to accommodate our obviously, limited Spanish. Fortunately, lady in charge of cleaning was Australian. Breakfast was OK and plentiful, if rather samey over our five days.
Review 41:Bad sound-proofing. You can hear the people in the next room clearly, even when they are talking normally. Breakfast starts at 9.00 - a bit late if you plan a hike in the mountains and need an early start.
Review 42:Stunning location - lovely garden, lovely view, nice old building. Lovely friendly lady, nice breakfasts.
Review 43:It is a steep little climb to the hostal, so be prepared.
Review 44:Very handy location, very close to the centre of town, with a beautiful view of Deia. Very charming old style hostal, but very clean and neat.
Review 45:Breakfast was quite late for us (9-10.30am) but Antonia gave us some oranges to take away when we needed to leave earlier
Review 46:The spectacular view (surely the best view in Deia) The privacy and tranquility Lovely big bedroom window Antonia is cheerful and helpful The artwork in the breakfast room Wonderfully fresh bread, ham and cheese for breakfast Rustic yet clean and homely house Pension Miramar is truly the hidden gem of Deia!
Review 47:Beautiful position overlooking the town but only a short walk from the centre. The terrace has fine views over Deia & down to the sea. Simple breakfast & friendly hostess although she speaks little english. Rooms are quite basic but clean. Looking at the amazing starlit sky from the terrace.
Review 48:We loved this little Pension at the top of Deia which had fantastic views down over the village/town and our room had a sea view - couldn't believe our luck. The own er and the Pension is very traditional - rooms simply furnished - charming. If you like peace and quiet then you will love this place. Would recommend earplugs for the lighter sleeper however as any movement at night seem to be accentuated.
Review 49:Website said it would be posible to have an evening meal - this was not the case. However there are plenty of restaurants in Deia. Warning - Deia is very hilly!
Review 50:Lovely location and amazing view. Very good breakfast provided. Run by very pleasant woman who does not speak English.
Review 51:Honestly, nothing! Loved it all!
Review 52:Loved everything about this quaint stone cottage in the hills above the village of Deia and a short hike to the beautiful cove beach! Antonia is a charming hostess. The rooms are immaculate and the breakfasts delicious. We had a fabulous time. Best vacation ever!
Review 53:I would like to have had an earlier breakfast, there was a choice between having breakfast and catching the bus to start a walk. I chose the breakfast and was pleased to do so.
Review 54:Wonderful breakfasts! Beautiful communal area, with roses from the proprieter's garden.
Review 55:The bathrooms are shared, but they were clean and there was never a queue.
Review 56:Lovely location, slightly tucked away above the main part of the village, which had a number of nice restaurants in it. Beaches are a car ride away generally, but so much nicer than staying on a beachfront hotel block somewhere. Lovely views from here and peaceful.
Review 57:quite hard to find, very noisy, old without any authenticity, and too expensive for the prestation.
Review 58:the location in a small and nice village. park place for your cars.
Review 59:Walls to bedrooms a bit thin and it would be good to have fresh orange or lemon juice and water offered at breakfast.
Review 60:We loved the simple hostel which had wonderful views of Deia and a peaceful atmosphere. Breakfasts were delicious and the owner very helpful.

Review 66:The owner was very friendly and did a great breakfast. The location was very beautiful and peaceful.
Review 67:Clean, Basic, simple, friendly, beautiful location, lovely restaurant at the bottom of the hill.
Review 68:nice and warm atmosphere, good breakfeast
Review 69:In the room we could hear a lot of what was going on in the hall
Review 70:The friendliness of the staff and the antique patina of the furniture
Review 71:Lack of bedside reading light
