Review 7：This hotel is in the middle of the center. It has a Café which is very popular and it's bakery. The breakfast is exceptional and is better than many 4-star hotels. The hotel and the rooms are very modern. We will come back.

Review 12：We didn't like the restaurant. The food was very basic, the dishes were suffers from over seasoning and the salad from over dressing. There is a young girl name Doris (a very rude girl), although she is only a waiter, she behaves like she is running the entire property.

Review 20：We arrived in Lofer, at the Cafe Dankl, and saw the Booking.com sign atreception showing that customers had awarded theHotel/Restaurant/Cafe a 9.4 - We raised our eyebrows as wereally did not believe this - how wrong we were! First, we stayed in ajunior suite, very well appointed, even with a Jacuzzi/Bubbles Bathand great views! I popped downstairs to grab quick beer before dinner,the place was full, but the waitress stopped an served this tiredtraveller! We came down to dinner, the owner, Robert, told us that inhis opinion this restaurant ranked 2 in the village - raised eyebrowsagain - oops, we were to be proven wrong again! Both my wife and Iordered the Trout, with apples of the earth (to us mortals, Potatoes)with a salad - price is reasonable, we waited and ordered the best whiteon the wine card - Austrian - small comment aside, the Austrians arepretty terrible with their good wines, they drink most of it themselves,leaving very little for export - its the not so good wines which arefreely available outside of Austria - naughty Austrians! The winearrived, my wife tested, mmm, its ok, however, she had just had aRamazzotti - I explained that this had no doubt spoilt her taste buds -I will try, mmmm, the wine is one of those that they don't exporttoo much of - excellent! The Trout arrived (remember, Robert told us therestaurant was second best in the village). The trout was not onlyexcellent, but the salad was fresh, loose, and had obviously been madefor us, and not a salad which had been prepared hours before, it wasexcellent, the Apples of the Earth were so well cooked, which such afantastic taste, I had to ask Robert to let me into the secret of whatsort of potatoes they were. Next, after the great sleep (thanks to theWine and the Williams Schnaps (from the village Distiller)) we had agreat breakfast, fresh Yoguhrt from the "alp" and freshblueberries, which were a dream.

Review 43：Dankl has become our favourite hotel! Everybody there were lovely, Robert, the owner of the place (despite being very busy) really took his time to explain things like restaurants, hiking routes and have a chat in the afternoon. Corinne at reception was very thoughtful, emailing us before our arrival to keep us up to date with things and patiently and kindly answering my million questions. You'll love the cakes there, good selection, I think everyone staying in the hotel had a cake in the afternoon, and we'd have another one in the evening. I especially love the fruit topped pastry. You'd really feel like a house guest (that's how they address you in the hotel), because everybody was so friendly and genuinely went out of their way to make your stay comfortable. But the hotel facility is way above 3 star or family run. It should be at least 4 star. If you don't count the useless criteria of 5 star (like having 10 towels for 10 body parts), it really gives you a 5 star experience. Comfortable bed, spacious room with elegant modern design, good sized window gives you mountain view all around, absolute modern bathroom, and free bottled water and soft drink in mini fridge (but I let you in a secret, in Lofer all their tap water is actually mountain spring, so you really don’t need the bottled ones). Go to Lofer, a lovely, friendly and quiet village with the most beautiful mountains and streams! With lots of love from Jenny and Gabor at London

Review 45：Hotel Dankl is a rare and beautiful find. It is located in the idyllic village of Lofer, about 25 minutes drive from Salzburg. The hotel has an amazing restaurant which is open from 10am to 11pm. The food is high quality, fresh and plentiful. The rooms are large, light and have free WiFi. The staff are exceptionally friendly and made a solo traveller feel very welcome. I can not wait until my next trip!

Review 49：The street that the hotel is on doesn't have a name so you can'tput it in your gps. The town is small though so just drive towards thecenter of town and you will see the hotel and restaurant on the leftjust a little ways after the information center.

Review 50：The hotel Dankl is a small hotel in Lofer. The hotel is very clean, theshower is very nice, the beds are comfortable. The staff is veryfriendly and helpful. The pastry shop is awesome. We were there onSunday and the people never stopped coming to the restaurant. It's asmall town but I think everyone in the town goes there on Sunday. Greatplace to people watch. We talked to the pastry chef, Robert. He was veryfriendly and helpful.

Review 55：This is a wonderfull family hotel. Robert Dankl and his family are amazing people, always so nice and willing to help. Robert is a great chef, and on the ground floor of the hotel there is an amazing restaurant and bakery, which we highly reccomend. The rooms are very big and spacious and beautifuly designd. The hotel is in a perfect location for hiking - hiking up/down the mountain, caving and beautiful gorges - are only 10 nimutes drive from the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel! :) And will definitely come again!
