Reviews for Hotel Granada Palace
Review 1:breakfast was bad bad coffee canned orange juice (in a 4 star in Spain...) no yoghurt or anything similar bacon not great
Review 2:nice hotel great pool (bit chilly)
Review 3:We were asked 3 x times for our room number at the breakfast buffet.
Review 4:Staff at reception was excellent. Breakfast was disappointing. Rooms lack atmosphere and cosiness.
Review 5:Breakfast really let down the standards-- cheap quality ham /cold meats.Cold eggs and bacon, coffee only from a machine, fruit juices were a sweet commercial mix
Review 6:Spa facilities and staff were excellent. Overall the standard of hotel building pool and grounds was good, clean, light and spacious.
Review 7:The hotel quality and cleaning was bad. There were hair in bathroom, even if we told to clean, we found the same hairs. The hotel was not clean and rooms are old.
Review 8:The hotel location is good, close to Granada city center and Sierra Nevada
Review 9:Tried a pizza in the hotel resurant, was served something like a Dr Oetker frozen pizza just heated in the oven, also kind of burnt. Big disappointment! A bit lazy staff. Breakfast was OK, but not great. -Expected more. Location: A bit off-side, nothing much happening in surrounding area. All this might be because this was a bit off season. Hotel seemed a bit worn; Toilet seat broken, crumbled corners in bathroom, broken light bulbs and such things.
Review 10:Nice big room (junior suite), delight jacuzzi and an overall fancy and beautiful hotel.
Review 11:details of a 4* hotel where missing. Breakfast was very average. Location poor - nothing around the hotel - no restaurants, cafe etc..
Review 12:spacious bathrooms, and all rooms have balcony. Staff tried to be friendly
Review 13:Checked in very late due to traffic being awful. Got to our room at 1am. Starving, but no room service at that time. NOTHING! the only alternative was to drive into Granada city and get lucky, which we obviously did not do. Granada is not the best city for drivers who don't know their way around. I have some experience there... Finally, morning comes and we are SOOOO looking forward to breakfast. Again, while it was decent, it was far from memorable. Plentiful but pretty average... Then again, we only paid around 50 Euros for the room and around 13 for breakfast for 2, which is pretty good value. Now, paying 10 Euros for the overnight parking, when there was plenty of room to park for free right outside the reception felt like a total rip off... no-one to blame but me, though....
Review 14:Room was spacious, clean, quiet and overall we felt good in it. Didn't have time to explore the hotel or surroundings. Staff were correct, borderline nice...
Review 15:Small note: at 11pm bar was already closed, however there are few nice cafes located quite close to the hotel which work at night and offer both food and drinks at that time.
Review 16:Everything was fine: very nice luxury place. Comfortable perfectly furnished rooms, large halls, nice outdoor pool, free city parking adjacent to the hotel area (caution - gates are locked at 9pm till morning)
Review 17:Its not in Granada. The staff are completely unhelpful and won't even book a restaurant for you. The terraces are empty. The pool area is messy and never looked after. There is very little service by the pool. They don't really do room service and the food sucks.
Review 18:The hotel only had 8 sunbeds:( and at 8 o'clock in the morning (before breakfast )there were towels on all the beds:(but not people:(
Review 19:Big rooms:)), good breakfast.
Review 20:- Poor Breakfast - The hotel 's restaurant : we've been served barely cooked frozen fish for a very expensive price... -Bahtroom: ill-desgined ...whatever you do you can only flood the entire floor - Far from Grenada
Review 21:Nice modern design Friendly desk reception Parking
Review 22:Staff could have been more friendly, it was also a 25 min drive into Granada.
Review 23:Extremely spacious rooms with balcony, clean , comfortable beds and bathroom with a Great shower . Pool was wonderful and added an excellent bonus after extremely hot temps for sightseeing . Excellent breakfast buffet with lots of hot and cold choices . One of the best of our trip!
Review 24:Seems more of a business hotel. Left my wife there for whilst cycling and very little going on - had to go to the supermarket for a tea and bite to eat. Breakfast was fairly uninspiring as previously pointed out.
Review 25:Stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights to visit Granada and cycle the Pico de Veleta. Location in Monachil was fine - on the main road, underground car park. The rooms as previously pointed our were huge! The bar was ok for a few drinks and burgers.
Review 26:Nothing worth mentioning.
Review 27:Hotel Cleanliness, size of rooms, we got exactly what we had booked. Excellent breakfast hot and cold. Could recommend without any problem. Will return in the future.
Review 28:A bit shabby in places but would not put us off returning.
Review 29:Large room with the comfiest beds we have ever slept in!!! Large sunny balcony.
Review 30:Needs some investment to rent establish 4 star quality
Review 31:The look
Review 32:Too far out of town, no coffee place open in early morn at hitel
Review 33:Female concierge helped us, mapped our way out of town
Review 34:Baths etc could do with some talc and updating.
Review 35:Beautiful hotel, polite staff.
Review 36:The bad bits
Review 37:It was nice
Review 38:Additional fee for Spa.
Review 39:Great SPA. Good location to go for skiing in Sierra Nevada.
Review 40:Poor breakfast
Review 41:Big comfortable room Good wifi
Review 42:No door on toilet to separate from bath/shower room.
Review 43:Super sized Suite. Hotel fairly new and a little bit clinical but very nice.
Review 44:Location too far from city center and business facilities. Hotel aircon not working staff stated it is only turned on at the hotel's discretion. Sink in room not draining staff made aware had to wait 24 hrs for maintenance to resolved problem.
Review 45:Size of the room for the price.
Review 46:Couldn't really figure this place out.... Grand hotel without the up keep? Pool was just gross... It appeared that there had not been any cleaning for some time as there were algae balls floating around. Pool deck was very dirty and cigarette buts lined the main enterance walk.
Review 47:The price was good and the beds were comfy
Review 48:All services are in extra cost : spa, access to the pool...not corresponding to that kind of hotel Poor meals of the restaurant, no cocktails at the bar! Air conditioner not working in the room. Nobody told us when we arrived, and nobody came when we called. Conclusion: this hotel has a great look, but too many details are disappointing in comparison with that kind of standard
Review 49:Space of the rooms New facilities Nice spa Good price
Review 50:The broken cold water tap The non existent air con The noisy fan from nearby factory 24/7 The shabbiness of the furniture and finish in room 114 The heat rising from the spa below The broken Spa bath in reallocated room 124 The lack of Towelling Robes The poor prep and provision of breakfast on the Thursday morning The lack of compensation for a ruined second-honeymoon break Small selection for dinner inappropriate for hungry day-skiers (need big bowls of pasta!) not the scrawny bowls of Chefs Wok that were provided for E11
Review 51:The reception area was impressive The junior suites were spacious The curtains were attractive The electric blinds were useful Friday's breakfast
Review 52:THE LOCATION as well as approach was too confusing. There is also issue of some NAME problem, previously operating with different name. Still on one road same name but the new name had NO indication on any road leading to the Hotel. Even the street in which hotel main entrance has been made, had no mention of Hotel Granada Palace. ALSO the shower was not fixed after it had gone out of order few weeks ago. There was gutter flowing Terrace so bad smell causing mood to be down. Breakfast should have been included in the Charges when those were more than Euro 125 per night for a property located on Country side
Review 53:Staff was cooperative. Building was new, rooms were ok
Review 54:Apart from room size, everything is bad. Bathrooms doesn't have any doors and its separated from the room by a glass wall. If someone turns on the bathroom light at night, the room won't be dark anymore. Let alone noise. Breakfast was the worst i've had in any hotel. They let everything stay all morning in room temperature. They don't refrigerate yogurt, cheese, ham and other temperature sensible food. Safety is a joke. There is no porte-cochère and when you check-in, if you have a car, you need to drive straight to garage door and press the communicator button. They will open the garage door to anyone, guest or not. There is only one camera in the garage entry and no other in the parking space, neither in the elevator. If you press the communicator button they will open garage door and you can go anywhere you want in the hotel and no one will be able to trace you. Corridor carpets were dirty during all our stay. First room they assigned to us had a toilet leaking and noise could be heard from bed (remember, no bathroom door!), second room was smaller and we booked a junior suite, both rooms were not junior suites by international standards and i don't recommend booking a room in this hotel, but if you do, don't waste your money and get a regular room. Some front desk employees don't speak english. After breakfast, I to talked to the man who seemed to be the manager at front desk and all he and his female colleague could do was argue with me and tell me everything was fine. According to them there was no safety problems because they have a camera (remember, one??), the room was a junior suite because bathroom has a bathtub (that made me laugh), that i could order a cold yogurt at breakfast (yes, the one they put in the refrigerator the day before after being at room temperature all morning long) and other ridiculous answers. I left the hotel early, couldn't stay more nights in a place like this. DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL!
Review 55:Room size is good.
Review 56:We were there in February. 1. The aire conditional is too noisy! When I switched it off the room become too cold during the night. When I switched it on I couldn´t sleep. :-( 2. The SPA is not alowed to use freely, even if you pay for it! You can not just spend time in there whereever you want. You must sign up for a round and move with a group. :-(
Review 57:Everything was very good.
Review 58:I would suggest having a coffee machine in the room and bathrobes.
Review 59:the room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom with the whirlpool tub and big shower were also wonderful.
Review 60:Nothing.
Review 61:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were big and comfortable. Most important rooms were very clean. Bathroom was big and really clean. Spa bath. Car park under the hotel was free.
Review 62:no english tv channel..... spa only open a few hours..... minibar a bit dear..... no pool available as advertised....
Review 63:dinner... breakfast.....room.....location....free parking....bath....bathroom in general
Review 64:The tv does not have english channels. The wifi only works in the reception.
Review 65:The hotel is very comfortable. The rooms are spacious. The jacuzzi bath is fantastic. The bus from Granada stops 5 min from the hotel. Lourdes from the reception was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in Barrio Monachil, there is a supermarket in the corner and the restaurant Monte Velez (10 min walking) has a very delicious food. We really recommend the hotel because it is a good value for money.
Review 66:spa is closed at 9 PM
Review 67:good price quality
Review 68:great.
Review 69:Raw chicken from the bar on the evening meal. Sent it back no charge and staff apologised.
Review 70:The rooms are amazing. The comfort level is way above other places in Granada.
Review 71:Restaurant and bar facilities poor, spa was closed
Review 72:Decor, junior suite good size, comfortable beds
Review 73:Staff were very helpful and hotel was new, and well appointed, if a little run down. I would recommend as rooms are great and staff even better.
