Reviews for El Petit Convent

Review 1:Central location, friendly staff, clean, modern and bright - good breakfast and individual touches like free coffee & pastries on arrival - great value for money.

Review 2:Our room had childrens' beds that were too short for adults. We had to ask for standard twin beds. Odd. The people who served breakfast acted rushed and made a lot of noise cleaning dishes while guests ate. For the nightly cost, the service should be a touch more professional and the room preparedness better. The night stands were small tree trunks with no storage. Add more storage to the small rooms.

Review 3:Great town and beautiful old hotel building. so charming!

Review 4:The ramp of the in-house parking is quite steep, maybe better to advise people of this fact.

Review 5:Nicely renovated building with beautiful atmosphere right in the center of Begur

Review 6:we took a room with terrace. Once the upper room start to take shower we could hear everthing during shower, it was like in our room.Acoustic isolation of rooms is not good. Also access to hotel with baby carriage or wheelchair is not possible.

Review 7:Location was perfect and it's very clean.

Review 8:- no parking possibilities in direct neighbourhood of the hotel - no balcony or outdoor space - no laundry service - no night porter - limited breakfast assortment - grumpy staff - totally overpriced hotel compared to hotels within the same pricerange

Review 9:- nice situated in centre of Begur

Review 10:The shower of the people upstairs was doing a little too much noise sometimes in the morning.

Review 11:Great location, very nice staff, beautiful place, very easy.

Review 12:The terrace in our room was perfect for eating breakfast or enjoying a beer after a day at the beach. The place was very clean with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. Shuttle service to one of the main beaches is offered, complimentary. Would definitely return!

Review 13:breakfast, no kitchen in the hotel !!, there were no eggs available.for me the last time in convent beacaus the price and simple facility and small room is it instead of other hotels in the near expensive

Review 14:the location , fast near the city

Review 15:Squeaky bed!

Review 16:Couldn't be better located, fantastic decor and very comfy rooms. Great breakfast and very very friendly staff, can't recommend enough.

Review 17:The parking was very very tight. Small cars only!

Review 18:The hotel was clean, easy to find and the staff were lovely. Highly recommend for a short break. The bigger sister hotel is stunning too- which guests can use too. Well worth a visit!

Review 19:The only BUT for us is the size of the rooms, they are too small for North American standards. We are both Europeans living abroad.

Review 20:The personal attention one gets from the ladies at the hotel. They are genuinely friendly but yet discreet. The location is perfect, two minute away from the main square, yet a quiet street so you can't hear all the voices on the street at the restaurants/bars. Perfect spot for relaxing. Breakfast finishes at 11 AM which is perfect to sleep in.

Review 21:we booked a cheaper room without a terrace but if a stay is more than one night, the more expensive option would be worth it. Parking is free on the outskirts about 10 minute walk from hotel.

Review 22:low key, stylish and very friendly. We ate in (and parked by)the Turandot, it was excellent and not expensive.

Review 23:Booked this at the last minute a few days before Christmas. Nice, quiet place in a quaint town. Staff was very friendly and spoke English very well. Gave us good advice on restaurants. Parking is off-sight, but only a few blocks away.

Review 24:I wasn't too keen on the bathroom, but it was clean & functional. It was small though.

Review 25:It is a beautiful, quaint boutique hotel well situated in Begur.

Review 26:Difficult to find and parking a good 10 minute walk after dropping bags, although being October parking was free for the night. Continental breakfast only and a bit limited, although the fresh OJ was welcome.

Review 27:A lovely little boutique hotel, well located near the old town, restaurants and castle. staff friendly and helpful. Room a little small but very clean and modern.

Review 28:The only inconvenience (and it wasn't a big deal) was parking the car 3 blocks away and walking back and forth, however, there's not much space for parking lots in this historic town.

Review 29:Beautiful, clean hotel. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Very helpful and friendly staff. Location in Begur was great for walking in evening for restaurants. Many beautiful beaches within short driving distance.

Review 30:WiFi was intermittent until it was reset.

Review 31:Nicely decorated rooms. Very obliging staff. Great breakfast. Not too far from the centre but importantly not too close either. Thankful for the air con!

Review 32:This hotel is good for a couple of nights but it is a B&B. The rooms a rather small for a longer stay.

Review 33:The staff were great and the location convenient for the town centre. the public rooms are beautifully laid out. The shuttle bus to the beach was very handy.

Review 34:Leaving.

Review 35:Fantastic staff in a prime location. Bright airy rooms with a breakfast in keeping with the high quality of cuisine in the region. Do not hesitate to book.

Review 36:Wi Fi was poor kept crashing. There is a computer in reception but I couldn't use it to log into my company e-mails. Otherwise PC gave good Internet access for doing searches etc..

Review 37:We travelled over a weekend for a family wedding. Begur is predominantly a pedestrian village and El Petit Convent is ideally located in the centre. Car parking is off site in a public car park at €2 per day. Weekdays it is free. We had a lovely bright room on the 2nd floor with good facilities. Very modern touches throughout in a converted historic building, a lovely mix. Staff were very good and pleased to assist in guiding us around the village and other places of interest. If it's available book it!

Review 38:The staff was very accomodating and professional. The morning breakfast buffet was above average. The availability of beach towels was also nice considering we went to the beach everyday. Our room was small but, very clean and comfortable. I would definitely return on our next visit.

Review 39:There are no outdoor spaces as the hotel is very small. However the rooms are a good size. (We were in room 3). The breakfast could be inproved, but was adequate.

Review 40:Location to the town, resturaunts, etc. was great. Beach shuttle is a very nice facility. The standard of clenliness is good. So all in all for a 3star bed and breakfast hotel it was good. Staff were helpful and very pleasent

Review 41:As the town is old and streets very narrow, parking takes a little work. Though free, it is a little bit of a walk to negotiate.

Review 42:Petit Convent is a gem of a small hotel a couple blocks off the center square of Begur - a most beautiful ancient town that lacks the commercialization of many of the 'resort' towns along the Costa Brava. The beaches are a 15/10 minute drive away but stunning! Staff was excellent and provided concierge service that was personal and precise. Top notch linens & accouterments - a perfect combination of historic rustic and modern.

Review 43:No staff at all available in the Hotel from 21.00 until 09.00 No car park

Review 44:Practical, Central

Review 45:Very clean bright room. Great having coffee and tea available any time

Review 46:Nowhere nearby to park (but that's part of the charm of Begur)

Review 47:Beautiful building, quiet room, friendly staff, good breakfast.

Review 48:Room and bed a little bit small.

Review 49:Great location in Begur, very clean, very stylish

Review 54:Convenience to center. Cleanliness of room. Good breakfast to start your day.

Review 55:Modern and clean and well located. Courtesy bus to beach.

Review 56:quiet, relaxed, everything catered for with style and consideration.

Review 57:The bathroom has a sliding door with no soundproofing

Review 58:The style, cleanliness and excellent staff. The patio adjoining our room

Review 59:The staff was incredibly helpful and made our visit a great experience.

Review 60:Difícil aparcar.

Review 61:Hotel coqueto en el centro de Begur.

Review 62:Very friendly staff. A beautiful, little and cozy hotel in a spectacular area.

Review 63:Very helpful staff. Lovely communal areas.

Review 64:The hostel is clean, beautiful, each detail of the design is very intelligent. The staff is wonderful and everything works.

Review 65:Nothing important to dislike

Review 66:Just about everything. Will stay there again .

Review 67:The moment you get in you will really like the super interiors and a very warm and friendly staff.excellent value for money..

Review 68:Having a room at the front of the hotel. The rooms facing the rear were much brighter and bigger.

Review 69:Beautiful decor & amazing shower room

Review 70:Would be nice if they had terrace to sit out in the evenings.

Review 71:The staff were very helpful , rooms comfortable and a minutes walk to the square !

Review 72:The staff did not let us know that guests get a 12 euro flat rate for the daily parking.

Review 73:small room

Review 74:breakfast, location

Review 75:My stay was too short!

Review 76:Smart relaxed atmosphere. Very helpful and charming young staff. Perfect for a base to tour the area. No room service, in house bar/ restaurant created an aura of calm. All these are available 2 minutes walk from the hotel. This was a return visit. We were not disappointed..

Review 77:It was billed as a superior room, but it was not superior as it was so small it could not accommodate a table or any chairs, it did not have a balcony, and the toilet paper was not superior either.

Review 78:The staff and the buffet breakfast

Review 79:A chair in the bedroom would have been a useful addition.

Review 80:The hotel had been well converted only about 2 years ago and the public areas and our bedroom were light and brght.

Review 81:Highly servicial staff, always prompt to help you and introducing you with all the facilities of the hotel, and always in a cheerful mood! The possibilty to get a coffee/tea and fresh pastries any time of the day as an excellent + (courtesy of the hotel) And charming hotel with its lobby made of natural beige stones, just fitting right with Begur!

Review 82:Unfortunately although there were several stylish sofas dotted about they were all so uncomfortable, only two armchairs were of any use, good design does not always mean comfort

Review 83:Our lovely receptionist was perfect, so helpful and attentive (we stayed 18/3-21/3) One if the nicest hotels we have stayed in, so quiet and breakfast was well laid out and plentiful. It was also a pleasure to be able to help ourselves to cakes and beverages at all times.

Review 84:No chairs in the bedroom. Only a mirror in the bathroom none in the room. The beds were hard and narrow, and the pillows the same.

Review 85:The kindness and help from the staff.

Review 86:Our bathroom floor was a bit dirty, we had to wash the sand from the last guests off the floor. And there wasn't very good soundproofing (we were off the landing, so it was quite loud when there were people in the stairway etc).

Review 87:The lobby area was really nice, very cute. The staff were lovely and very helpful. It was in a great location. We enjoyed our breakfasts there too

Review 88:No parking. You need to walk 5-10 min to a place where you can park.

Review 89:The entire staff at Petit Convent was super friendly, helped with recommendations, or anything else that was needed. Ro Mauri in special is an adorable person, who gave me great restaurant and beach tipps. The hotel is ideal if you wish to have a decent hotel, clean, in a cosy miedeval city like Begur to explore Costa Brava. At nights you don't need to leave Begur, as there are plenty of very good restaurants. The breakfast is just amazing for Spanish circumstances, it was delicious!

Review 90:Middle of city centre Begur so you can easily visit the nice bars and restaurants. Parking just 5 minutes walking to take the car to the lovely beaches around. Very clean and relaxing hotel. Nice design. Nice breakfast. Perfect shower. Friendly personnel.

Review 91:Friendly and helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable modern room, good bathroom, good lounge areas and breakfast room Excellent location - right in the heart of the picturesque village of Begur and handy to public transport to beaches and bus to Barcelona.

Review 92:friendly and helpful staff, individual attention, relaxed but with attention to detail, location by the sea (1/2 hour walk), close to (in!) village and markets, could walk to-from the bus stop, beach, dining, breakfast included, access to tea, coffee, snacks throughout day, private/ peaceful areas, free wi-fi and use of computer in lounge

Review 93:Wifi signal was nonexistent in our room. The 'open concept' shower design, while nice to look at, created a huge mess of water whenever we used the shower.

Review 94:Beautiful common areas, delicious breakfast, and helpful staff. Rooms were quite nice and comfortable.

Review 95:We liked the modern, clean lines of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the breakfast times relaxing and holiday suitable. The whole ambiance of the hotel helped make our holiday wonderful.

Review 96:very quiet location. very friendly and helpful staff, especially Ana and Lupe. Nice decoration, great breakfast. several small restaurants in walking distance. Can't think of a single complaint and would definitely recommend this place to any traveller.

Review 97:Our rooms were very small, I would ask for a larger one next time.

Review 98:Helpful staff, very close to town, lovely seating areas, true tophotographs on website. Breakfast was good and the staff even gave us apicnic breakfast when we left for an early flight.

Review 99:Bedroom was rather basic, a few home comforts might have been nice.

Review 104:Very good breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice and Iberican ham.

Review 105:Car had to be parked some distance away
