Reviews for Hotel Des Puig
Review 1:The evening atmosphere is a little bit lacking with no staff at the Bar in the evenings. (Honesty system in operation) Our bed could have been more comfortable!
Review 2:Really friendly welcoming staff. Great location with a fantastic view of the Sunrise over the Mountains as a Breakfast backdrop. With the same mountains being lit up by the Sunset in the evenings. Central location in the Serra de Tramuntana mean that Valdemossa and Soller are both within a short 10-15min Car journey (Or 2 hour Hike :D).
Review 3:Staff are lovely but if any possible criticism maybe a bit too laid back. Cleaners didn't replace toilet paper or take away used cups or glasses but other than this they did an excellent job. Breakfast dishes were not cleared away efficiently. These are my only 2 criticisms of a wonderful place.
Review 4:Beautiful place, stunning apartment, friendly staff. Easy going, had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend this hotel. Staff are lovely. You want comfort? Look no further.
Review 5:The associated attached 'apartments' are not at all the same as the main hotel. The distance from the main hotel is quite a walk and the decor and facilities are old and in need up updating. The water surges and the hot water runs out quickly. The beds are small and squishy. We were bitten by spiders and mosquitos. Overpriced for what you get.
Review 6:The location is perfect for Deia.
Review 7:I don't like when the bed is 2 singles pushed together but most hotels in Spain do this
Review 8:The breakfast was lovely each morning (even if similar) The staff were extremely friendly and helpful The location is perfect in the heart of Deia The pool area is quiet and private
Review 9:The Manager hasn't got good customer service & he doesn't handle the problems correctly.
Review 10:Rustic, great quiet village, nice little spot, easy to walk to the restaurants.
Review 11:Music by the pool..
Review 12:Amazing traditional Deia Spanish interiors and decor, beautiful Terence with the best view in Deia!l Lovely helpful manager. Only thing is I didn't love the bland music by the pool! Needed to be just be quiet which is part of the whole peaceful Deia experience! Other wise would highly recommend it
Review 13:Stayed here for 8 nights at the end of July. The hotel is traditional and spotlessly clean. Public areas and gardens are calm and relaxing. Breakfast was a highlight. An exceptional selection of fresh fruit. Everything served was of the highest quality. Without doubt, however, the main feature of the hotel is its friendly and courteous Staff. From the welcome on arrival they were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure an enjoyable stay. We plan to return.
Review 14:A built in DVD player in our room would have been ideal. We were provided with a DVD player to attach to the TV which did the job nicely.
Review 15:Clean, stylish and efficient staff. Fabulous location in the heart of Deya. The hotel is a very nice blend of traditional and modern design.
Review 16:We (family of 4) stayed in one of the annex apartments. Very decent, but it would have been nice if we (7 day stay) had been allocated an apartment with a balcony. Having no outdoor possibilities to sit or even hang out your wet towels was really a shortcoming. Pity the airconditioning was in the hallway and not in the bedrooms. And it rattled. Furthermore unfortunately no cleaning of apartment during stay and only 1x towel change...
Review 17:Lovely location in centre of town, within walking distance of restaurants, etc. Nice pool area with honesty bar. Nice cakes (compliments of hotel) every now and again!
Review 18:Maybe the pillows could be softer....very bouncy...also need more than one bin in the bedroom...but these are very minor. Room was gorgeous with its very own nespresso machine!
Review 19:The staff, the ambience, friendly but peaceful...cosmopolitan atmosphere..lots of dutch, norwegians, swedish and german families and couples.
Review 20:My room had an issue with the WC so I was moved to a villa. The villa was lovely however there was no air conditioning which I obviously booked when I paid for my room in the hotel.
Review 21:Could have used assistance lugging my suitcase up several flights of stairs.
Review 22:Staff couldn't do enough for me. Big breakfast, lovely patio and pool area with a view of the Teix.
Review 23:The ceilings, doors etc are not very thick. You hear foot steps from above quite much. Door lock was not secure enough.
Review 24:The hotel had lovely spaces to relax - swimming pool, some spaces with comfy sofas... The room and the public areas were kept clean all the time. The staff were very helpful and friendly but professional. They are really keen to help and helped me to make the most of my holiday. The swimming pool was lovely (except when kids are making too much splashes!) surrounded by lovely view of mountains. Located very close to the bus top, and entrance to the walk paths to Cala Deia and Soller. WiFi worked fine all the time. had about 5 English TV channels including BBC, ITV, Ch4.
Review 25:We loved it all. Being in a tough competitive area such as Deia this hotel stood out as being ultimately sufficient for our needs and demonstrated that one does not need to stay in a Hotel costing over a grand night for excellent accomodation.
Review 26:The space for our family of 5 in the apartment was great. We had all the facilities that we needed. The hotel manager was very helpful whenever we had a question.
Review 27:Kitchen is small and basic Single beds quite narrow and no clothes hanging area in smaller bedroom
Review 28:Spacious apartment in beautiful village Views across the mountains Access to hotel pool and bar
Review 29:The photos on Booking.com for a twin room are not the rooms you get offered when you arrive. The photos clearly show a room with a terrace but this is not available to booking.com customers. The manager denied this but the photos are still on booking.com. Breakfast was poor. Food looked like it was several days old.
Review 30:Lovely views. Very quiet location. Very nice cleaners. Excellent wifi. The new rooms look lovely but we liked the quirkiness of the original rooms.
Review 31:Nothing bad happened! It was all great.
Review 32:We were not in the main hotel but a separate apartment. It seemed very new and smart and had everything we needed for our stay. Tip: ask for an apartment with balcony. The hotel was very helpful, lent us a hairdryer and anything else we needed.
Review 33:I do not have any real grumbles as this hotel is simply lovely. If I was to be really picky the pillows on the beds are not too comfortable and the hotel rates quite pricey, certainly for a long stay could become quite expensive to stay in Hotel Puig.
Review 34:The staff were lovely, as werethe rooms and bathroom facilities very well equipped. The breakfast was sublime, great selection of good quality food. The location of the hotel in Deia was ecellent too, very central and the hotel although small boasts a lovely little swimming pool area. A real home from home.
Review 35:Peaceful location in stunning village. Very relaxing around pool. We can apartment for family of 4. Very modern and clean. It had 2 seperate bedrooms , although website said only 1 with sofa bed ! Maybe best to check before booking. Some have balconies.
Review 36:We have stayed at D'Es Puig twice before and loved the intimate nature of the hotel. This time we had an apartment (No 6) on the top floor, close to the hotel, which had wonderful views on 3 sides. We found the facilities to be clean, quiet and comfortable (very comfy bed!). Ultra modern kitchen but we only used it to heat our croissants in the morning. Excellent restaurants nearby, especially Sebastian's - and the Robert Graves museum is a must do! Wonderful walks to Cala Deia, Puerto Soller, Soller and La Foradada. Thank you Lucian and Adeline for a great stay.
Review 37:The hotel's in a beautiful spot in one of my favourite places - Deia. The family apartment was excellent value, and the hotel manager was welcoming and informative.
Review 38:Very friendly and helpful staff, they gave me a lot of recommendations and made my stay very enjoyable. The hotel is centrally located with stunning views.
Review 39:Be aware that there's no lift, so it can be awkward if you've got large cases.
Review 40:A beautiful setting with good sized comfortable rooms. The breakfast is lovely and very fresh. There's a fantastic pool surrounded by the picturesque mountains and an honesty bar throughout the day if you want a drink. There's even a decent small gym if you want to be a bit more energetic. We had a really nice stay here and wouldn't hesitate to go back if in Deia again.
Review 41:I found it very good for what it claimed to be - it delivered perfectly. I can't think of anything in particular that i was unhappy about.
Review 42:I found it very relaxed and friendly. Very attentive staff. Great atmosphere and location. I would return for sure & recommend it to anyone looking for a small friendly relaxed hotel in Deia.
Review 43:we stayed for 4 nights and cleaner didnt come at all, otherwise we loved the appartment and staff was very friendly and helpful at Hotel Des Puig.
Review 44:Hotel des Puig apartment was great and pool-area was lovely with the mountain view.
Review 45:Booking mistake which resulted in us bring put in an apartment outside the hotel. I would never have booked if I had known that would happen. They were not expecting us at all. Frankly if I could get a refund I would be happy. It was the last night of our holiday and it was v disappointing.
Review 46:Not much. Good orange juice.
Review 47:There is nothing not to like.
Review 48:I love everything about this small hotel. Staff so accommodating, quiet rooms small but perfect. Pool & garden lovely. Super breakfast. Central location with stunning views in a beautiful mountain village.
Review 49:Room was a little small, and colourless. Late start for early birds. Quite basic for the price, but this is Deia!
Review 50:This was a small friendly hotel with comfortable beds and air conditioning. Responsive staff. Calm atmosphere. Good position for the Palma/Soller bus and the GR to the Cala/Soller. We wanted an early start so had a very limited breakfast tray.
Review 51:The management,staff and location.
Review 52:Pleasant design of the lobby, nice views of the mountain from the room.
Review 53:Beautiful breakfast, room, staff and ambience. We couldn't have asked for anything more
Review 54:We were disappointed in the size of the bedroom which was located over some noisy building works. Would have preferred a bath to a shower.
Review 55:We loved the 2 bed room flat on top of the house. A real nice feel.
Review 56:Gorgeous, quirky little hotel with super staff. Great base to explore from. Fantastic views from our bedroom.
Review 57:Disappointing breakfast with extra charge for hot food.
Review 58:Beautiful room with stunning views and a massive bed
Review 59:Good value for money. Not much staff around, but lounge with honesty bar (reasonably priced) works fine. Breakfast, but no restaurant in hotel.
Review 60:Situation

Review 63:Everything! Superb staff & owner, brilliant!

Review 66:location
Review 67:Uncomfortable sun beds. Inefficient air conditioning.
Review 68:Postion excellent. Pool and terrace good. excellent views
Review 69:The manager has got very little customer skills and was rude
Review 70:Authentic and location
Review 71:Nothing at all!
Review 72:Everything. It's heaven on earth!!
Review 73:Very good location. A delightful small hotel with pool. The junior suite was just perfect. The management excellent.
Review 74:Apartment looking a bit tired in places, broken shutters. Very small second bedroom.
Review 75:Location. Deia.
Review 76:Nothing.
Review 77:Everything was just fantastic
Review 78:Niets
Review 79:Alles, je kan altijd muggenziften
Review 80:Friendly staff, good value for money, close to Deia bus stop, great views from the apartment
Review 81:Peaceful and in easy reach of the rest of the village
Review 82:Pillows.
Review 83:Dramatic mountain location, breakfast, staff, quiet, pool, car park, local restaurant choice, places of interest in the area.
Review 84:Great location and the hotel owner and his staff couldn't have done more to make us welcome. We'll definitely come back.
Review 85:No balcony in apartment no. 1 No hairdryer supplied
Review 86:Location, size, quality and decor if apartment
Review 87:Views from the pool the staff the breakfasts location of hotel nice bathroom
Review 88:Breakfast; pool; really helpful staff; immaculately clean
Review 89:Perfect in every way.
Review 90:This was an excellent hotel and I would certainly stay here again.
Review 91:Liked everything , no negatives
Review 92:Great location ,friendly stuff, hospitable , cosy, best breakfast !!!!
Review 93:Breakfast early before the other guest is fantastic. Just to hear the village awake.
Review 94:Excellent location, friendly staff and very good facilities. It was great value for money. I would stay their again!
Review 95:The fact that our room didn't have a terrace or balcony to sit out on, only 2 rooms had this facility though we were told an extension is planned
Review 96:Service ,friendliness and quiet relaxed atmosphere
Review 97:Nothing
Review 98:Lovely little hotel in a beautiful village. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. We felt very at home and will return. Views from hotel are wonderful, and small pool is a welcome bonus. Delicious brealfast buffet, and hotel is kept very clean.
Review 99:Beds a little hard and Deia has a lively Saturday night scene which, if you need an early night, isn't ideal. Quite a bit of noise from cockerels etc so take ear plugs.
Review 100:Lovely staff and lovely vibe - honesty bar was excellent as were the cookies and tea offered gratis in the afternoon. Pool area lovely and the views spectacular. Delicious breakfasts and good location for buses, restaurants (particularly Xelia on the main road - excellent!), walks and taxis.
Review 101:absolutely no basics for cooking with - no salt, oil etc. Would be nice not to have to buy all this just for a weekend
Review 102:great location lovely little pool area
Review 103:We had the apartment at the top of the hotel. It was perfectly lovely, private terrace, full kitchen, comfortable beds, free wifi. The town of Deia is gorgeous, near the mountains and the sea. Lots of fresh fruit for breakfast! The pool was perfect and the gym, though small, had excellent equipment.
Review 104:As mentioned earlier on this site, the kitchen is quite poorly equiped. With a small investment the hotel could make the comfort of the appartment (the kitchen) much better. The rest of the fascilities are fine.
Review 105:The appartment is real nice on a noce location. The hotel is nearby and the swimmingpool is quit nice there.
Review 106:Location was great, it is a ver clean and convenient apartment. If you are looking for an apartment this place is very good. Be aware that the hill is steep so if you have a problem walking then you may struggle to makle the short but steep walk back to the apartment.
Review 107:No English TV, no large dinner plates, just one hard bolster type pillow & one cushion per person which resulted in disturbed nights sleep almost every night.
Review 108:Location and cleanliness were good.
Review 109:However, the heating is only coming from the aircon in the corridor which made our stay really cold. Also the apartment has issues with the hot water supply which runs out very quickly (4min). After an evening of boiling water with the kettle in order to finalise my shower and after a freezing shower for my partner we were not impressed. What was more shocking though was that when we reported the issue to the owner there was no apology and we were told off for not reporting the issue at 11pm when it occurred. We were also told the hotel should have been double the price and we should be very happy for getting it for 100 a night. Not quite the type of client service and attitude we expected. Very disappointing experience of client service overall.
Review 110:The hotel is beautifully decorated with modern furniture and is in close to brand new condition and very clean.
Review 111:The advertised free wifi wasn't working. Wifi is so important to travellers these days so we should have been told at the time of booking or before travelling that this wasn't available.
Review 112:We were in the apartment annex, away from the hotel which was closed for refurbishment. Pretty village. Nice views from apartment.
Review 113:Fantastic location. Deia is the best little village on the island. Great restaurants everywhere. We stayed in apartment #3. It was nicely remodeled and quite modern. Very comfortable.
Review 114:No tissues in the room or bathroom, only one tiny hand soap for the duration of stay.
Review 115:Location,view from the hotel, great choice at breakfast, cleanliness, comfortable beds, nice rooms (plain but stylish0, friendly staff.
Review 116:Loved the location, having breakfast surrounded by an amphitheatre of mountains. A small traditional house converted to a hotel, it had a nice feel to it. Walking down to Cala Deia for a late afternoon swim. Very friendly staff.
