Reviews for Alencimmo

Review 1:dingy, dirty, had to wait in a dark alley for someone to show up and show me to the "room" the internet didn't work, the microwave didn't work, more like a low rent bedsit than an "aparthotel" sub hostel standards. nobody on reception, nobody answering telephone, a frightening and unpleasant experience had to book elsewhere after one night - out of pocket 100 euros. booking.com no help in resolving problems.

Review 2:there was nothing to like about this place it is badly located, dingy and depressing there are far better places nearby for less money, if you are a woman travelling alone, forget it.

Review 3:The property was difficult to find, located down a small side street so I advise studying a street map before you get there. The apartment was quite small but the price does reflect this.

Review 4:The staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment had everything we needed for a stopover to and from our holiday destination. The location was convenient for the motorway and although on the edge of the town it was quiet.

Review 5:we wanted to store our bicycles for a night and the girl at the reception charged us 10 euros for that, while their garage behind the hotel was enormous and far from full.

Review 6:Location is alright, although there is some 'dark stuff' going on in the hotel. During our stay there was a knock on our door, some guy asking for escort service.

Review 7:No headboard on bed. No second pillow. Shower tray was blocked and shower fitments a bit cheap (rose drooped). To use the kitchen was an extra €15.

Review 8:Price was good for what you get. It was clean and very convenient for Alencon town centre. The person who welcomed us was very friendly.

Review 9:The room was very hot, and to have the window open meant the curtains were open ; thus the sun woke us up very early !

Review 10:Cheap, and as we arrived late and left early we just needed a bed for the night.

Review 11:It was cramped. The girl was indifferent to our request for a kettle. The fridge was not working properly. the whole apartment smelt of cigarette smoke.

Review 12:Safe parking space

Review 13:Room was fine for three nights but any longer and it would have felt too cramped. The external structural wall was concerning......it had loose bricks and the whole wall was pushed in from the roof level right down the side of the building.

Review 14:Comfy bed, clean room, good location in pretty town.

Review 15:Feels a bit like a hostel rather than a hotel. Very cheaply decorated and furnished. Room got too warm even with the window open and there was no air con.

Review 16:Price

Review 17:Paid for secure garage parking, but the remote control would not operate the door. At 11.30pm it was no joke.

Review 18:The assistance given by the management, as I hadn't realised that I needed to arrange for entry, and I was very late. Basic but comfortable room.

Review 19:Dirty sink - round the edge of the outlet. Shower needs a good scrub round the hinges. These are the only - and important - comments I have. Actually a mattress topper would not come amiss on the sofa bed (rather uncomfortable) but for such a reasonable price perhaps this might be a step too far!!

Review 20:Large spacious apartment, perfect for two friends sharing or a couple with children. An incredible secure garage if booked in time. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 21:The cigarette smell along the walk way was quite bad. But its fine when I get into my room. The walk way to my room was rather creepy.. Felt like a scene from the game Max Payne! I don't think I should be charge to park my bicycle in the parking garage, its only for 1 night. 10 euros is overcharging.

Review 22:The staff were really friendly. Spoke really good English and helped me with my heavy panniers. Wifi was good room was relatively clean.

Review 23:Building is a typical 70's, 80's building in France: it can be noisy (noise from inside the building). Lack of sound proofing.

Review 24:Location: 5 to 10 minutes walking to town centre. You can go to buy your croissant nearby. Equipment: Similar almost better than Citadines. The owner makes some effort for the kitchen equipment. Wifi. I had a garden side studio on the 4th floor (with lift) with a nice view on Alencon town centre .

Review 25:Secured parking was 10 Euros and they charged me the same to store my bicycle. I think it should have been less.

Review 26:The room was tiny and basic but adequate and clean.

Review 27:We found it veryy difficult to find. The sign on the main road needs to be more clear.

Review 28:Everything was lovely. The property was in abeautiful setting and Monique was a wonderful hostess.

Review 29:Had to to move wardrobe around to fit cot in bedroom. Fridge was turned off when we arrived.

Review 30:Easy to find. Plenty of parking offstreet. Right on town and near to other places to eat with a short drive. Chose it as a stop off point to a destination further down and worked fine.

Review 31:Relatively noisy, even on top floor. People seemed to come and go to nearby rooms at full volume at all times of the night. Fortunately we had ear plugs.

Review 32:Reasonably comfortable and helpful staff

Review 33:On arrival to be told that the price agreed on line with booking.com was not correct even though nothing had changed from when booking made is frustrating and annoying Very hot & noisy in room

Review 34:Wifi was good Well stocked kitchenette

Review 35:Only one criticism-someone had taken the hand-basin plug!

Review 36:Friendly staff .Cleanliness of room and equipment. quiet location. Excellent value for money.

Review 37:Where to start? Springy bed;lumpy pillow;thin walls so kept awake bydrunk guests and doors banging.Be aware that you have to cleaneverything and leave it spotless, otherwise they will charge an extra15e - which isn't made clear when you book! Also,I mistakenly double-booked my single room and despite several emails to the owner making itobvious I was alone, he didn't draw this to my attention until Iarrived - and despite my apology and explanation that I didn't getthe first confirmation (must have gone into spam) - charged double basedon a no-show! A hairdryer would've been handy. Hotel from hell, worst one in my whole trip - never again.

Review 38:The kitchenette was a plus, ask for a kettle.

Review 39:It was expensive due to a high season event. The room was very small for the price. Bed mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable

Review 40:Clean, friendly staff that showed me the apartment and everything I needed to know!

Review 41:Heating needs up dating/ replacing!

Review 42:Local to centre. Self catering facilities. Bath which is nice.

Review 43:cooking facilities and cycle storage

Review 49:Convenient location, good value.

Review 50:great stay customer service top so good booked on way back

Review 51:nothing

Review 52:nothing really

Review 53:quirky. self catering facilities ,good parking facilities (albeit at extra cost)

Review 54:No dedicated parking.

Review 55:Receptionist was friendly and helpful. The lift was a great help.

Review 56:Noisy, walls too thin. Single room looked like the bed was in a very simple kitchen!

Review 57:location & price

Review 58:small room too cramped.

Review 59:parking for motos, location.

Review 60:Brilliant little place, great secure Parking and friendly staff. Alencon is a lovely little town too

Review 61:Parking

Review 62:Good value self catering accommodation

Review 63:Nothing!

Review 64:Great little one person accommodation, well placed for the station.

Review 65:thin walls

Review 66:Location

Review 67:The entrance was dirty and old . The door of the room was loose and It was impossible to keep it perfectly closed. It felt scary and uplesant.

Review 68:Overpriced, dark corridors

Review 69:Good location, excellant restaurant next door.

Review 70:Quite difficult to find. Thank goodness for my satnav.

Review 71:No frills but everything you would need.

Review 72:Close to the town centre, quiet and safe parking.

Review 73:Hard to get into the hotel at the beginning.

Review 74:Location lovely - cafe on corner fantastic as was restaurant. Quiet place with lovely view. Good value.

Review 75:Surprised to find it included a kitchenette and fridge which helped in the heat.

Review 76:No maid service after the first night

Review 77:A plain, simple, excellent value for money establishment. Clean, comfortable and walking distance from the airfield.

Review 78:One small negative was that the barstools were uncomfortable. Our stays were both on Sunday and we found that there was nothing social to do in the town during the evening as everything was closed. On the Monday morning before we left we were able to take a quick look inside the church and have a stroll around the small shopping area and partake of a coffee.

Review 79:For the price we paid this hotel made an excellent halfway stopover for our long drive through France. The bed was comfortable and we were very pleased with the security of the optional garaging facility. Initially we had only booked for one night on our journey down through France but decided to book again for the return journey. The phone booking was courteous and easy to carry out.

Review 80:Info on website and photos misleading.it is a block of run down privately rented apartments -not a hotel as implied.shabby, gloomy and sparsely furnished cracked tiles in shower. 7 year old grandson did not feel safe -neither did I.

Review 81:Convenient stop off point en route to Calais

Review 82:There was nothing we didn't like!

Review 83:We were very pleased with Alencimmo. We booked it as a stop-over halfway between Calais and Tranche sur Mer (Eurocamps). It was exactly as described, very clean, modern and our apartment was perfect for a family (two adults, three children aged 12, 9 and 5.) There was a double room and a large sofa bed, so the two older children shared that and the youngest slept in our bed. Alencon is a lovely town, we enjoyed exploring it that evening, and had a really lovely meal at Cave des Boefs. I would certainly stay at Alencimmo again and would recommend it to anyone wanting a mid way stopover or as a base for exploring the local area. We also made use of the secure on-site parking for €10, and it was within a locked private garage with an electric door. I would recommend that option if you have a car full of luggage, as we did.

Review 84:Kitchen was limited if you want to prepare a full meal; OK for snacks and light refreshments.

Review 85:Excellent location - quiet yet close to town centre and points of interest. Free public parking within 50 meters. Adequate for short stay.

Review 86:Not a hotel at all... A small apartment room . The owners Kept mewaiting on street for 30 minutes until someone came to give me a key tothe room. No food available. They are only able to take cash forpayment. Really felt I had been conned but I had no where else to stay.Very disappointing

Review 87:10 euros extra to park

Review 88:right in the town

Review 89:Good location! Self contained flat.

Review 90:walls thin, room looks grim

Review 91:wi-fi,

Review 92:Room did not resemble picture. Was supposed to sleep four, but the fold out bed was smaller than a double. Run down.

Review 93:A kitchen was included.

Review 94:We stayed as a stop over en route to Le Havre. It was conveniently placed, very clean and inviting.

Review 95:Very basic
