Reviews for Belmond La Residencia

Review 1:Not a bad resort experience as such.Just the location of deia is remote with very narrow winding roads so the driving experience was a bit unnerving. Plus as the village is very small, there are very limited dining options around.

Review 2:Great hospitality! beautiful resort layout! very picturesque background of the village of deia.Food options are quite limited yet everything we tried was fresh and delicious.

Review 3:The prices are eye-wateringly high, especially when compared to Valdemossa just a few minutes away. It's definitely a luxurious place to stay, although long stays are for the super rich or celebs who don't pay their own bills.

Review 4:The site was spectacular.

Review 5:Staff all of a very high standard, friendly, who just make you feel at home not overbearing like some hotels can be, pool and garden areas also maintain to high standard only matched by the backdrop of the tramontana mountains " Stunning "

Review 6:We stayed in a classic room which was pretty basic and small, could do with a bit of upgrading eg the shower. But we liked the traditional look.

Review 7:The setting, ambience, decor and service.

Review 8:The food is all right, but not great. Food, drinks & extras are much too expensive!!! The free hotel boat trips are too short with only 15-20' to swim, a grumpy sailor that hurries back after 1 hour and a half and makes sure your trip is not one minute longer than the 2 hours you are "given" (for 650€ a night), and there is only one uncomfortable boat for 10 people to accommodate 167 hotel guests. This is ridiculous if you consider that the hotel is very expensive, that Mallorca is an island with very hot climate in the summer, that the only other way to reach the sea is to climb down very steep rocks and walk back up for 45', that the only beach the hotel drives you to is often dirty, crowded & uncomfortable and that private boat rentals cost 1000€ for 4 hours. There is a pool, but not particularly impressive, and in any case you go there in the summer to swim in the beautiful sea which is all around you, not in a pool full of chlorine.

Review 9:very friendly and efficient staff, very good location, outstanding views, elegant and tasteful decoration, pleasant atmosphere

Review 10:I like the location in the moutains, the views, the beautiness of the landscaping, the people are very nice and helpful, the food is excellent, we liked it very much.

Review 11:The price of food and beverages was too high. We have been to this hotel before, and we knew we were paying for exclusivity, but I think this year, the prices went beyond that.

Review 12:The staff, the setting, our toom

Review 13:La Residencia is in the most beautiful village. We were only there for a short while to attend a wedding but we will definitely be returning. The food in the restaurants was delicious, the service excellent. All staff were friendly and accommodating.

Review 14:The food on the menu of El Olivio lacks imagination. For example, disappointed in seasonal salad that was just greens with a few carrot and radish slices. Nothing special. rooms vary greatly--some very small & no view. Dont know this when you book online.

Review 15:Love the location, ambiance, staff & amenities. Love the garden and patio terrace bar!!

Review 16:The only problem was that my Husband was unable to walk very Distance and there was not any Form of concert or entertaiment at Hotel on weekend.

Review 17:The efficiency and politeness of The staff and help when required

Review 18:Water was only sold by the bottle and I felt it was very expensive ! Other Five star hotels I have been to have provided complimentary water and they serve it to you by the pool...I think this would really be a benefit to your customers and would prevent dehydration !! I really can't think of any other negatives...I just loved my stay We were upgraded...given champagne and beautiful roses on the bed as it was an anniversary celebration We hope to stay again

Review 19:The service and staff were of the highest standard Very comfortable hotel Unpretentious and beautiful Fantastic setting

Review 20:Nothing.

Review 21:Can't say enough about La Residencia. Amazing pool, wonderful staff, views to die for! Really enjoyed the great meals and wonderful hospitality. A bit pricey, but worth it. Upgraded to amazing suite.

Review 22:None.

Review 23:My room was great with a view of the ocean. The staff is friendly and the food at Cafe Miro is excellent. They belong to Orient Express group (hotel branc was changed to Bellmont). As with the hotel in Macu Pichu (at that time Orient Express brand) I stayed, the service is great .

Review 24:El Olivo restaurant food was good however service not as great as the experience in the rest of the hotel we had to ask for our wine to be served several times

Review 25:Pure luxury of hotel, service, location

Review 26:The prices Eu7 for a small bottle of water!! Come on!

Review 27:Excellent service Sublime Views and location Terrific facilities Food was very good (but not spectacular

Review 28:Absolutely nothing we loved it all! Although I really wouldnt recommend it or the area if you have any mobility problems. Lots and lots of very pretty steps!

Review 29:We loved La Residencia!. The setting is the most amazing. Whilst lying at the pool you are gazing at the beautiful unspoilt old town of Deia and the incredible mountains. The hotel sits perfectly in the unspoilt architecture of this truly amazing area. We loved the quiet, apart from the fantastic hourly chime of the church bells or the occasional noise from the resident donkeys! The flowers were beautiful, the style elegant and classic and the service first class! We are very fussy travellers ( usually we find something isn't just right for us, could be the area, could be the room design, noise etc etc...) to make a perfect 10 on our own ratings and actually for the first time ever couldn't find fault. High praise indeed.

Review 30:The bed too high, but extremely comfortable. Being honest there wasn't anything we didn't like

Review 31:Easy to check in - very good staff Excellent food, perfect location Lots to do within the hotel The piano playing -. Good air conditioning. The cleaners were amazing nothing was too much trouble

Review 62:Beds very high Why put families in rooms adjacent to adults only pool

Review 63:Attention to detail

Review 64:Room was dated

Review 65:Service second to none, excellent food, tranquil and beautiful setting with wonderful gardens, very good gym.

Review 66:I liked the way the staff were so attentive and knew your name throughout your stay. The food was amazing, the spa amazing. We felt recharged when we left.

Review 67:The prices felt a tad inflated (especially the Michelin recommended restaurant - which was quite average).

Review 68:Location and setting picturesque. Staff are very attentive and friendly (especially the breakfast crew).

Review 69:Nothing

Review 70:I have stayed at La Residencia a few times over the years and every time I leave I can't wait to return. It truly is a magical place and catered for all our needs. The scenery is breathtaking which adds to the romance of the Hotel.

Review 71:Lots steps.

Review 72:Friendly staff, good salad bar at lunch time. Treatments in spa especially body talk, amassing and cured several ailments. The huge bed and crisp soft white sheets. Breakfast great choice!

Review 73:It was very hot in the rooms. We had to change our room three times before we found an air conditioner that worked well. The staff was not very happy with us or friendly to us. At one point I had to move my own bags because they had nobody to move them for me. After paying all the money that we did we should've had a working air conditioning and friendlier staff. I asked for a bottle of water at the front desk and they didn't give it to me even though they had a back there. The shop owner was the only one that seem nice enough to give us suggestions to go to and places that were not so touristy.

Review 74:The hotel itself and the mountains were beautiful. The hotel is with beautiful old stones and Keeps with the town in the mountains and the beauty.

Review 75:We did not think the room merited the price we paid. It was really nice but had no view and there were a couple of snags with it. It is difficult with such an expensive hotel to review it fairly though, as paying this much you expect everything to be absolutely perfect, rather than just good. Potential guests should also be warned that in early July it was full of small children, both in the day and in the bar during the evening, and being by the pool was sometimes like being at an under 5s party. They made a lot of noise and I think people without children should know this in advance, in case they're thinking of having a quiet holiday. However, I would definitely recommend this hotel to families with small children! The pool was great for them and there were lots of other children to play with.

Review 76:The setting was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel grounds and facilities were excellent and the staff very helpful overall. Just spending time sitting in the hotel grounds is amazing as te view is beautiful. The hotel also offers a free boat trip that was really enjoyable. Deia is great if you like nice food, as there are lots of gourmet restaurants to choose from. There are also some less expensive choices that are reasonable.

Review 77:There was nothing that was missing or that we did not like.

Review 78:The standard throughout the hotel was high quality, it was always clean with great attention to detail and in meeting ones personal needs;the staff were excellent in every way - courteous, friendly, efficient, tidy, polite and not obtrusive. We loved the afternoon tea, the artwork, the location and the beautiful gardens too.

Review 79:bathroom a bit dated food in one of the restaurants poor

Review 80:Wonderful location, great views and walking. Very helpful and professional staff Very spacious rooms, wonderful bed. 3 swimming pools in pretty grounds.
