Reviews for El Rincón de las Descalzas
Review 1:Several burned out light bulbs, bidet wouldn't drain and a staff member spent about minutes getting the heating to work.
Review 2:Wonderful atmosphere with many courtyards. Like staying in a 19th c. Mansion (which it once was).
Review 3:We stayed for one night at the El Rincon de las Descalzas in Carmona. We were pretty much looking forward to it, but the experience was disappointing. The hygiene in the room was below standards, long blond hairs on floor carpet, on floor and in bath,..My husband and myself have short hairs, so these 'remains' definitely were from a prevous visitor, clearly a sign that the room has not be cleaned in a normal way. The sanitary in the bathroom showed signs of rust, a 3 stars hotel unworthy. Breakfast was in line with the total experience... disappointing. Maybe the staff had a bad hair day, but we have been shouted at. Very impolite and aggressive. Dry croissants served, margarine instead of butter,... An experience to forget quickly.
Review 4:Stay in the old town
Review 5:Parking was a real problem although we did eventually find a spot after a really scary drive through the incredibly narrow streets. Finding our way back out of the old town on to the Seville road was also difficult, but none of this reflects on the hotel.
Review 6:Unfortunately we had only one night in the hotel and in Carmona but the location of the hotel and the overall ambiance of the building were excellent. The town itself and particularly the area around the hotel was very attractive.
Review 7:The bath / toilet just had swing doors to the bedroom part - not very nice or hygienic. Very hard to find - no notice on the wall where the alley way was / is .
Review 8:Convenient for bars and food. Parking hard close to - but carry driving down the narrow, cobbled road and you will come to places where it is easy - 5 mins walk ?
Review 9:Breakfast is very basic continental, and the orange juice was made from concentrate which was disappointing.
Review 10:The staff were very good and made every effort to oblige. Some speak English if your Spanish isn't up to it. The patios are beautiful.
Review 11:1) No English, No helpful stuff The stuff could not speak English at all (!) and we had to push them to get the information such as a bus schedule, etc... They said firstly 'I don't know', so we persistently asked them, then they checked the information on the internet... Guests should be very active to obtain all the information needed. 2)Noisy Our room was next to the pateo near the entrance and the sounds of other people chatting and closing doors desturbed our sleep often although I'm not so sensitive to the noises. The room door and window are not isolated well, so all the noises can be heard...
Review 12:Atomosphere, cleanness, good wifi connection, location
Review 13:The breakfast was disappointing
Review 14:Loved the layout and decor. We stayed here at the end of a week touring and didn't want to go back to Sevilla for the last night. Easy to drive in to drop hire car off in the morning from Carmona.
Review 15:Absolutely Nothing!
Review 16:This hotel is extremely beautiful!!! The hotel with it's 3 interior patios are an oasis of rest and relaxation. An excellent example of Andalusian living and hospitality with a five star service, but a three star price.
Review 17:Not really a dislike but it's not easy to find. My satnav initially took me to another part of the town at first so I asked in a shop and was pointed in the right direction. It's near the church. But, even when I go there I drive past it without seeing the entrance, as did I and a German couple whom I met looking for the front door !! Best park your car where the satnav eventually says it is and ask.
Review 18:Central location with a good selection of restaurants and bars in a plaza a couple of minutes walk away. Beautifully designed and laid out; very elegant and tranquil. I parked outside but, as it is located in the centre of the old town, parking might not be too easy if the hotel is busy. It's five stars for almost everything and my only gripe was that it was not easy to find. My satnav initially took me to another part of the town so I asked in a shop and was pointed in the right direction. But, even when I got there I drove past it without seeing the entrance, as did a German couple whom I met also looking for the front door !! Best park your car where the satnav eventually says it is and ask. Great place to stay though. Highly recommended.
Review 19:The church bells announce the time day or night. At first they woke us up, but we missed them after we left!
Review 20:We really liked the central location of this hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated and the internal patios are a peaceful place to relax.
Review 21:Although our room was very comfortable, we were not thrilled with the open plan nature of the bathroom facilities - would prefer a door on the toilet!
Review 22:We liked the room, the small courtyards, and the position of the hotel within the old part of the town, with its fascinating architecture and streets.
Review 23:Everything! Beautiful tranquil room, lovely rooms to relax and read in, delightful patios to sit in, a relaxing bathroom, friendly staff, Monica and Laura were angels, luggage store etc. Nothing was too much trouble, the whole ambiance of the place was an oasis of calm, yet the location was very central. A perfect getaway, would definitely stay again and recommend. It really as good as the photos.
Review 24:Mi husband was sick and we decided to come back home ....the y did not try to listen to the Reason of our no showing. The next day my husband Was admited to the Emergency Hospital in Cuenca with a respiratory problem
Review 25:A little difficult to find but all hotels in the old towns are difficult to find.
Review 26:In the old town so well situated and was so cute with little courtyards and lounges. Very helpful staff.
Review 27:Nothing. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the south of Spain.
Review 28:The room was quiet and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The place is just lovely. Breakfast was great.
Review 29:A little difficult to find as there are no signs to indicate the hotel. Not even a sign at the entrance or even on their door. I had to go in and ask the receptionist what the name of the hotel was!
Review 30:The room was lovely, a good size and a nice comfy bed (although a bit sqeeky
Review 31:we stayed in a suite but it was just a large room, the tv was very small, the noise from reception was very intrusive. The price we paid was certainly not value for money . The breakfast was ok but the toasting facilities was very poor, a domestic toaster and they ran out of butter. There was also a smell of smoke from the fireplace in the bedroom.
Review 32:The bed was very good and the position of the hotel was excellent
Review 33:To much noise during the night. Church bells. And noise people from the patio. We hardly slept.
Review 34:No exterior window, only one to a stairwell, meant it was very dark
Review 35:Riad style
Review 36:Charming location in the centre of town. Friendly staff.
Review 37:Location is perfect. Staff is friendly. The facilities are gracious. Fascinating history both within the town and in the outskirts.
Review 38:Breakfast could be greatly improved, both quality and quantity.
Review 39:Decoración in general .Beautiful set up. Great Staff .
Review 40:There was only breakfast there and did not see a bar.
Review 41:The spanish character
Review 42:concierge speaks no english at all
Review 43:interesting layout, every room is different, has local charme, very pretty hotel

Review 46:central location, friendly staff
Review 47:Got used to it but church bells are striking all night!
Review 48:Location close to restaurants and principal attractions of town. Good breakfast and nice staff
Review 49:Away from the big city Seville in a small town with a lot of history. The real Spain atmosphere and no pressure. Just relax and enjoy
Review 50:No restaurant or Bar if you wanted to stay in.
Review 51:Nice and local to the town
Review 52:Bed was a little firm, for my liking.
Review 53:Good strong wifi signal, lots of options for breakfast
Review 54:Only street parking which might be difficult to find.

Review 60:need to fix shower head
Review 61:good wifi, comfy beds, cool inside when hot outside
Review 62:Excellent location and staff very helpful and friendly
Review 63:Friendly staff Decent breakfast Comfortable rooms Free and solid WIFI
Review 64:Unfortunately position next to churches made a disturbed night particularly from 6 am until 8 am
Review 65:Everything good/excellent as stated above.
Review 66:Driving down the narrow streets raises the blood pressure but part of the adventure
Review 67:Very old world Spanish Village
Review 68:You need to do your homework on the street layout if you are driving, the streets are very narrow and confusing. Don't park right outside the hotel the pigeons roost on the building above that part of the road and your car will be covered.
Review 69:A true Spanish townhouse hotel. Full of character but very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful. This would not suite anyone looking for a modern hotel. It is central and in easy reach of all amenities, including some fabulous restaurants. There is a regular bus service from Carmona to Seville for 2.80 Euros each way.
Review 70:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 71:We liked the atmosphere of this very well-appointed Andalucian villa with its Old World charm. The breakfast was excellent and served with grace.
Review 72:the price quoted us for our stay was 368 euros for 4 nights ..the final bill was 447 euros ..the hotel wanted 15 euros per night extra for the doggie which we have never paid in our life and breakfast was never listed as an extra although good value ..we settled for 12 euros total for the doggie we do not mind paying these fees but all should be listed on our booking ...I was on the point of canceling we stated on our booking we had a small pet..the hotel said it was not their problem we think..someone is not talking to someone
Review 73:Clean and attractive... some staff very helpful... very quiet ... lots of history ..
Review 74:impossible to find as it just after a corner, the glass doors are 10 meters down an alley, and no sign with the name on. Parking was out side on road very tight. Over night our car back window was broken and the car was trashed and robbed . Reception showed us on a map a English car repair place. Tony Marshall helped with police and repair. On our return to Hotel to email next stopover and warn of our delay they were on the point of unpleasant. We had to walk round the town all day in the pouring rain
Review 75:pretty courtyards and attractive rooms with fourposters and old furniture
Review 76:Lack of staff had to search hotel for staff on arrival. At breakfast most tables were left uncleared with no one around to help with our breakfast.
Review 77:Perfect Location surrounded by incredible historical architecture.
Review 78:Limited amenities in room. In particular, a box of facial tissue would be welcome.
Review 79:Our deluxe room ("sexta") had a sleeping area and a sitting area and windows with view on two charming courtyards which made cross ventilation possible. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was well equipped. Breakfast is a cold buffet with a reasonableselection. The old town has many historic buildings.
Review 80:Very difficult to find even with tomtom! Would be helpful to have someorecise directions on route.
Review 81:Beautifully decorated. We were able to leave car nearby and travel toSeville by bus. Very helpful staff.
Review 82:Our room was very uncomfortable: Too dark, nowhere to sit down (excepton the bed) and no adequate place to put our clothes and otherbelongings. The passage to the toilet/bathroom had no door! It was arelief to move to another hotel in Carmona. Parking could be a problem.
Review 83:Friendly and helpful staff. Situated in the mittle of the town.
Review 84:Difficult to find. Room dark with window facing hotel entrance.
