Reviews for Hotel de la Terrasse

Review 1:Breakfaf wasn't too good. Cold hard boiled eggs, sugary cereal and a toaster which threw your toast across the room. Coffee was good though.

Review 2:Very friendly helpful staff, clean comfortsble room. Very good location, few minutes walk to front and shops

Review 3:No parking charges anywhere in the town. Lots of nearby restaurants, and also excellent meals in the hotel. Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Hotel was in town but near the beach.

Review 4:Access to reception 3 steps not really wheelchair friendly, ramp in restaurant not secure enough for a heavy wheelchair. Other than this it is an excellent hotel

Review 5:Very comfortable.Good staff. Good food. Good disabled room with shower,

Review 6:Very helpful staff, clean room and all facilities in order. Nice breakfast with a range of meats eggs, cheese etc. Opposite the Casino - but no noise!!!!!

Review 7:Breakfast room was cramped - diners' tables too close to self-service counter. Guest's dog brought into Breakfast room.... that waitress fondled immediately before handling plates at counter.

Review 8:Easy to find and park. Good restaurant. There are cheaper hotels, but this was vg vfm.

Review 9:Very comfortable king sized bed. Really friendly, clean. Great location near the main high street and beach. The hotel just has a lot of character and was a breath of fresh air from the stale roadside chain hotels.

Review 10:Good easy to find hotel, right outside the casino. Parking was a breeze right outside, handy location and a short walk to beach, afetr walking passed what is the main shopping / resterant main street. Nicly appointed room, snug rather than spacitous but for the price very pleased.

Review 11:room was quite small for 2 suitcases

Review 12:Refurbished, quiet and nice looking room. Hotel is not far from the beach, shopping street and a big free parking area is just around the corner.

Review 13:Other than the sound of toilets flushing from above (which is a little noisy to be fair), nothing at all !

Review 14:Location-wise the hotel is a 5min walk from the beach with excellent parking available on-street or in the Casino car park opposite Rooms are really good, cleaned daily and have comfortable beds and a marvellous bathroom Tea & coffee is freely available to make drinks in your room using a kettle/tray gadget I've never seen before but which is excellent Electric shutters are used instead of curtains and can be parked partially open to suit or closed totally for a blackout effect. Also, the receptionist Julie is a star, consistently happy and helpful, and with a good command of English The hotel is just around the corner from boulangeries which bake the most wonderful croissants and chocolate au pain, which are to die for I can't comment on food from the restaurant as we ate out but from reports it is very good This hotel belies its 2* rating,

Review 15:Free parking, on street or in Casino car park opposite. Room small but very well equipped - good shower, plenty of power points. Easy drive to Channel ports.

Review 16:No hair conditioner in shower. Slow service in restaurant on first evening. No support to hang on to when entering and exiting shower except towel rail. Door hooks for coat hangers-OK for two days but not good for long term stay for two people.

Review 17:Clean rooms, reasonably cooked and presented restaurant food. Good choice continental breakfast. Friendly staff, especially reception. Quiet location. Free off street parkiing parking.

Review 18:Pleasant helpful reception, access to shops and beach, Comfortable Bedroom and bathroom new refurbished, street parking could be difficult when busy season.

Review 19:Room extremely small even for two average sized adults! En suite was new but had been squeezed in.

Review 20:Dinner and continental breakfast excellent. Hotel with new decor, very smart. New lift excellent. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Parked on one-way street opposite, wide, very quiet and well lit. Only 10 mins level walking to extensive beach with good promenade. Special DB&B offer very good. (€99)l

Review 21:Found the bed quite hard, but that's a personal quibble as my wife found it fine

Review 22:Staff were very good. Room was a little small but had everything we needed. Easy parking in the location and very close to restaurants, beach, shops & bars.

Review 23:Suite was advertised as having a large double bed but it didn't and a standard double is no good for us since my wife has hip movement frestrictions following surgery, and needs more room. This was not a disaster however because the sofa bed in the sitting room was perfectly comfortable for me. So we had a bed each.

Review 24:Staff brilliant throughout. Loads of local free parking. Quiet at night. Would definitely stay again.

Review 25:Booked because of its proximity to the channel ports, this hotel proved to be good value, with good food and good breakfast. There was even musical entertainment in the evening. Already booked to stay again.

Review 26:I think the breakfast can still be improved, the croissants are nice but the baguette is not good. This part of the hotel is still being refurbished so breakfast is probably a "work in progress".

Review 27:The rooms have been completely refurbished, everything is new, the deco is nice. Yes, the rooms are not massively large but large enough. You get through to the bathroom through a sliding door. The staff are LOVELY and very helpful. Would stay there again.

Review 28:Irritating plumbing system noises, Wifi down for most of our stay, no fresh fruit or whole grain bread at breakfast, one rolling shutter broken and no curtains, very small foldable sofa bed for children, balcony covered with pigeon droppings

Review 29:Good location, great exterior, interior decently refurbished, bathroom okay

Review 30:No negative comments !

Review 31:Young lady at Reception very efficient and spoke good English if required. Very quickly sorted a problem regarding our room (we couldn`t open the shower room door) and offered us another room which didn`t smell of paint (the hotel was being redecorated). The shower was excellent, and the bed was very comfortable. The bistro-style restaurant attached was good value for money and obviously trying to make a mark for itself with slightly different food choices.

Review 32:Triple a little small, pullout bed. Staff attentive , arranged bigger room for a small supplement .

Review 33:Pleasant ,courteous staff Very clean, freshly renovated.

Review 34:Room we had was very well equipped but small.

Review 35:Staff very good, hotel and breakfast was good value for money. Hotel clean, had dinner one night and again good value for money. Excellant for a few nights stay. Great local bar opposite The Welcome.

Review 36:Perfect room. Bathroom was perfect. Bed linen was perfect. Our room wasn't small as I've read the comments about the hotel. Lovely, comfortable and a clean room (what was important to us). We were there for one night and WiFi wasn't interesting for us (it didn't work). 5 min from the sea coast. I would like to say "Thanks" for the team of the hotel and for the french accommodation. People are very friendly! I would give at least 4 stars for this hotel. (Not for a "gastronomic" restaurant), but it wasn't a goal for us. I can suggest this hotel for those ones who want to have a nice clean and a modern room. (Yes, it isn't too big, but it is big enough). It's up to 4**** hotel (without meal). P.S.: I am able to sign as a specialist of the hotels, as I am in the tourist bissiness.

Review 37:New safe not fixed to anything, bathroom extractor not working. Would have liked coffee/tea facilities in room.

Review 38:All new and very clean, good quality bedding, close to restaurants and beach.

Review 39:Lack of cloth hangers in the single room. It is ok for a short stay.

Review 40:Close to the sea and the shops, cinema. Clean, refurbished recently, nice ladies at the reception. Very pleasant stay.

Review 41:Position was 1000 m from the sea front and berck is not the prettiest of towns.

Review 42:Felt new and clean, staff helpful. Parking was plentiful and free at the back of the facing Casino.

Review 43:On street parking (although parking facilities were close by).

Review 44:Front Desk Service. New Decor and Facilities in quirkily shaped rooms: 210 had a small terrace overlooking the Casino. Restaurant had friendly service and good food. Free kirs for each of our party.

Review 64:Room little bit small

Review 65:the room was rather small but for a 2 days trip not a problem.

Review 66:free parking in neighbourhood, excellent value for money also in the restaurant

Review 67:Bad smell in the lift area.

Review 68:Nice hotel, good restaurant.

Review 69:Comfortable and clean Near to town centre restaurants and the sea

Review 70:2nd time of staying, ideally placed, good value. Easy parking behind the casino

Review 71:nothing

Review 72:en suite

Review 73:Small double sofa bed for a family room Dirty dining room at breakfast

Review 74:Comfortable double bed

Review 75:Great hotel with great staff. First rate food, and excellent value for money.

Review 76:Reception was closed when we arrived in the afternoon so had to wait a bit.

Review 77:Restaurant was fine and we had a good meal at a reasonable price

Review 78:The room was clean and tidy and very comfortable a little tiny though but the bathroom was excellent although a little tiny too but would stay again

Review 79:The noise from upstairs.

Review 80:Every thing

Review 81:Nothing to say

Review 82:Cleanliness Welcoming Modern value for money

Review 83:This Hotel was chosen in error in my haste to book my normal Hotel of the same name La Terrase which is about 10k South at Fort Mahon I booked this Hotel at Bereck. On arrival the owner was polite but pointed to upstairs stating my room was room 8 showed me how to look the doors and dissapeared. The room was drab small and had a partition built across one end which housed the Shower, hand basin and a W.C with a maserator which operated as the soil pipe was only 1.5" in size and the room was never designed for plumbing. As my wife expirenced the interesting toilet facilities,I was tasked with re fitting one of the beds legs which was lying detached on the floor, I cannot understand that any person completing a basic survey of room cleanliness prior to our arrival would not notice the bed tilted over to one side. Each time the W.C flushed it sounded like a large generator was in the room, which we had to endure throughout the night as various guests operator thier W.C's. in rooms above us. In todays difficult financial times it seems that a complete lack of customer care was beeing adopted which no doubt leaves most guests wanting at this establishment. We chose to leave a day early as we were not prepared to endure a third night in this establishment.

Review 84:The location was not far from the main shops and beach

Review 85:As we were only staying one night I thought that a budget hotel would be suitable. Although the bedding was old, it was clean but the beds were uncomfortable. the hotel was opposite a casino which was extremely noisy right through the night until 4am. we also had to witness a street fight. the toilets were in the corridor with glass that doesnt offer any privacy. the seaside town reminded me of Blackpool on a saturday night.

Review 86:The electric toilet didn't work unless i jiggled the socket. Tiny room. No tea making facilities. No stand-up shower. Broken shutters.

Review 87:Super breakfast. Very friendly staff. Comfy bed. Slept very well. Close to Calais.

Review 88:No internet,No shower stand, no curtain in the bath, really basic accommodation - I don't recommend it.

Review 89:Helpful and amicable staff
