Reviews for Tropic Park
Review 1:Clubs close by - too noisy with people shouting and being noisy sometimes till 5 am. Didn't sleep well due to this.
Review 2:staff extremely helpful and polite. Room made up each day with clean towels. Food very good, lots of choice and excellent value for money
Review 3:Seemed very un-organised when we checked in. We asked for a double bed and got a twin. Which I suppose was not their fault but nothing was done to help us when we asked about changing. The rooms have absolutely no soundproofing. We could hear people talking in the next room, a guy snoring and the cleaners were on the corridor from a very early hour. Also the locks on the patio doors were very un-secure. When locked I could open them with a little nudge. Which was not good when we were on the first floor and our neighbours could literally step over the small partition on the balcony.
Review 4:The location was good. Close to the underpass to the beach. Lots of bars, supermarkets, restaurants etc close by. Room was clean. Shower was good.
Review 5:- No SPA, no massages. - Drinks during lunch and dinner are not for free, even water. - During breakfast you can drink only coffee of tea for free. - Even if you would like to order a paid tea during dinner, they do not provide it. You can order it only on a bar. - Very expensive safe box - 42 euro per 9 nights!!! - Wi-fi is not for free and also very expensive - 28 euros per 9 nights!!! - Insolent blacky waiter in restaurant tried to harass me, persistently inviting me to drink something with him after dinner and gave me his What's up name. Disgustingly!
Review 6:Perfect location. Amazing clear sea and sandy beach. Tasty and varied cuisine. Very nice administrator in restaurant. Nice receptionists who were always helpful. Nice personnel on a pool bar. Very clean rooms and territory.
Review 7:Dinner Buffet is poor and limited. You need to pay for soft drinks as an extra charge!! Paid parking for guests’ cars, not enough parking lots. No alternative parking zones around. Payments are made in advance!!! No in-house directory leaflet.
Review 8:Excellent Location, Friendly Staff.
Review 9:The main street is very noisy during the night . At the first two night was very bad .
Review 10:The kitchen has also gluten free bread for breakfast and the staff is happy to show all of the gluten free for dinner . Nice and good food :)
Review 11:We were a group of six who booked online three rooms for ten days at this hotel. In my opinion this hotel does not even merit two stars let alone four! The lobby is shabby and smelly with no air-conditioning. Tables and chairs are placed haphazardly all over the lobby. Two old leather couches that have definitely seen better days 40 years ago are places in a corner in front of two elevators that groan with age every time they open and close. We had booked ourselves into the "premium rooms" as the pictures of the standard rooms were already dismal on the website. The reception staff asked us to pay for the entire 10 days upfront at check-in which we found a bit odd but did anyway and deeply regretted later. The rooms had been refurbished but that was where premium stopped. The air conditioner did not work and 5 minutes after opening the terrace doors the rooms were filled with bloodthirsty mosquitos. The pool was practically on the street and the rooftop pool was merely a tub on the sixth floor. The little balcony of the premium rooms overlooked the main street directly above train tracks. The noise of the trains passing every 20 minutes was deafening and there was little peace and quiet to enjoy on the puny terrace! In order to get to the beach you have to pass through an underpass that stinks of stale urine- the average age of the clientele is 70+ matching the entire ambience of the hotel. They have probably fond memories of the place when it was new (must have been 2nd WW days!). In simple terms everything about the hotel sucked and we were terribly disappointed. We went out for a stroll and found a hotel at the same price with much better amenities and realized that we had gotten the raw deal. We decided to check out the next day and move into the new hotel.
Review 12:absolutely nothing
Review 13:The staff withheld our ID cards without asking us, just because there were other clients waiting.
Review 14:It was across the road from the beach and that's all about it.
Review 15:the street is quite noisy free Wi-Fi quality is quite poor, available only within a very limited place in lobby queue for dinner in the restourant!!
Review 16:new furniture and bath equipment good location
Review 17:My husband and I, were extremely disappointed from the minute we'vearrived at the hotel. The hotel is advertised as a four star, but in allhonesty and due to its close location to the beach, we are barely givingit a three stars. If it were for the staff at the reception and thecleaning staff, we wouldn't even think that this hotel is worth twostars, really. Although the location of the hotel is advertised as being150 meters from the beach, it is not mentioned that in order to get tothe beach one needs to use an underground tunnel, which constantlysmells like urine. There is a tram line at street level and on each sideof the road there is a green link-fence, which makes the area look likeit is constantly under construction and it's obviously noisy forthose whose rooms face the road (the beach side). We had made areservation for a smoking room, but when we've got to the hotel, wewere told that we can only smoke on the balcony, which was fine, butwhen we've asked for an ashtray at the reception, we were told thatthe cleaning staff didn't have any on stock and when we've askedif we could get one from the restaurant-bar area, the reception lady hadto call the hotel manager (not the shift manager) to get the approval, but in the end we were told no. So, I've had to run across the roadand bought an ashtray myself. Never, ever heard of something like thisin my entire life!! O.K. now, the room. We had made a reservation (andobviously paid more) for a sea-view room. The only sea-view rooms are onthe 5th and 6th floors of the hotel and the one were were given in theend, was a partial sea-view. In other words, to see the ocean, we had tolean over and turn our heads to the side in order to see it. The roomwas very basic. It did not have a kettle or a coffee-maker, nor did ithave an iron. If you want a mini-fridge and internet in your room youhave to pay an extra 4.00 and 5.00 euro respectively for each per day.
Review 18:The food was fresh and decently varied. The only friendly faces were thekitchen and restaurant staff.
Review 19:Noisy rooms, you can hear your neighbours, strange elaboration of other countries recipes.
Review 20:Position close to the seaside, just a stair and you are on the beach. 3 pools, ping pong and billiards, good international cuisine. Good staff supporting and helping you. Car parking.
Review 21:The only thing that we could find wrong with this hotel is that there weren't any parasols around the pool areas.
Review 22:Everything about this hotel was good. The staff were extremely helpful. The location excellent. There was a huge amount of choice of food to eat and it was buffet/self service so you could go back as many times as you liked. Some items were served each day but there was plenty of new dishes to choose from. My Mum is allergic to gluten and the restaurant manager (Loly) escorted her through the dining room every meal time to tell her if the dishes were okay to eat or not and every breakfast time there was a gluten free baguette and croissants on the table for her.
Review 23:Our only issue was how rude the other guests were. They were very loudlate at night/early hours and did not seem to care. This is not thehotels fault however & I hate to moan but I felt thatI needed tovent lol. The hotel had no faults in my opinion!!
Review 24:We loved our stay here. One negative that I will cover later bit so manypositives. We loved the location, seconds away from the beach, tunnelunder train line is right outside hotel and provides easy access to thebeach. The pools are fab, we really enjoyed the roof top pool, althoughthe height did scare me a little lol! Breakfast wasn't included forus somehow... So we paid the 6euros a few times and it's so worthit! Beans, eggs, bacon, breads, toast, fruit, pancakes, churros, juice, coffee etc! Very good value. We also used the bakery& shop oppositea lot. 70Cents a baguette! The Mexican place just under the walkway tothe Bach is amazing, free margaritas and nachos. The hotel has greatfacilities, free wifi in reception, nightly discos/music, karaoke, daily kids club, aerobics etc. really really nice place to stay andawesome value! Most staff were friendly... But they appeared to worklong shifts so can forgive them. All in all we loved it there, I can notwait to go back. Some top tips: book a private transfer we paid justover 40 euros each way for a private Mercedes!!! From girons here and itwas a real time/stress saver. The shop keepers will barter with youand sell for much lower, almost half the price sometimes. We only didthis on overpriced items such as t-shirts though. There is a lovely icecream place a few doors up, worth a visit. Marineland is also good ifyou fancy an excursion.
Review 25:Staff were incredibly unfriendly. I was laughed at for asking for free tap water to drink with my meals (I had paid for full board, and was shocked when that did not include drinks like water or soda). I had requested a private room, and had music blaring from the patio below my window until after 12pm. If the price sounds too good to be true, it is!!
Review 26:There were pretty limited choice of food, almost the same, generally food is hardly for 3*. Free wi-fi in lobby worked veeeery slowly - I even could not check my e-mail box.
Review 27:To get the beach from the hotel you have just to cross the street. A lot of shops are nearby. Train station "Malgrat de Mar" is in 10-15 min far from the hotel - so you can travel to Barcelona and other destinations whenever you want.
Review 28:Very convenient for family with kids
Review 29:Wifi is slow. And even doesn't work. Strongly advise to improve Internet facilities.
Review 30:wifi is not very fast
Review 31:I have been in this hotel the summer 2015, very good service; very taste food and new room with the sight for the sea.
Review 32:Free wifi doesn't work, had to pay 3euros for one day. Not acceptable in a 4 star. The food could be better ,more variety.
Review 33:Pool,staff in general
Review 34:very bad wi-fi
Review 35:animation team
Review 36:Poor cleanliness of the room, the amount of noise especially first thing in morning and later in the evening. The ad states that hotel is 500m from centre of Malgret de Mar and railway station, well that's only about 1000m out.
Review 37:Very helpful staff especially at reception. Good quality breakfast and plenty of it.
Review 38:There's many Russians in the hotel (sorry). The room and bathroom were quite small (single room). There was no movie or cartoon channel on tv.
Review 39:The food in the restaurant was fantastic (I had full board). Lunch and diner were warm meals with soup, veggies, salads, meats and fish, different potatoes etc and desserts. Breakfast was lots of choice from everything. Swimming pool was quite large. Friendly staff. I had a bath tub and huge balcony (single room). Hotel is right behind the tunnel leading to the beach. About 15 minutes walking from train station. The gym is small but free! TV worked well.
Review 40:No sun in the afternoon around the swimming pool. If you have young children it would not be suitable to take them on the rooftop terrace.
Review 41:Cleanliness of the rooms were good, towels changed every day.Breakfast was excellent. The rooftop terrace and pool area was great.
Review 42:A fantastic hotel that could not be faulted. Everything from food to service, facilities to support was excellent. Loli the Maitre'd was exceptional, a real treasure. excellent value all round, would recommend to all.
Review 43:Tropic Park is a wonderful hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The foodwas great and very varied so there was always something to pleaseeveryone. Excellent location.
Review 44:Great location, clean, tidy, comfortable room. Staff are helpful. Everything was just fine. Super, super, super !!!!
Review 45:The rooms are old and I think this hotel shouldn't have 4 stars.
Review 46:Situation of the hotel (near the beach) and catering.
Review 47:noisy (due to people..) a bit crowded
Review 48:location large swiming pool near the beach value for money good breakfast
Review 49:bad coffee, and juice
Review 50:Free breakfast, friendly reception
Review 51:monotony of breakfasts and wi-fi absence in number (only in the foyer)
Review 52:Few fresh meal, much sterilised vegetables (why-it is season!), poor quality of breakfast drinks and meal.
Review 53:There are very friendly & multilingual staff at reception. I thanking TERE very much for trying help me as much, as possible. Kind Regards!
Review 54:The staff were brilliant as was the food and the facilities
