Reviews for Salles Hotel Málaga Centro
Review 1:Availability of Cocktail bar staff poor and buffet breakfast was cold even at 07.00 in the morning when the restaurant had just opened.
Review 2:Very Clean hotel and helpful reception staff
Review 3:the beds that were "double" were actual twin beds pushed together. my husband and i were basically separated and were falling in between the beds
Review 4:Room was below four star rating, needed refurbishing. View from hotel uninspiring.
Review 5:Location handy to old town as well as shopping area in central Malaga.
Review 6:the interior, no airco in the winter ( but after telling it was far too hot in the room we had on the 3rd floor we got a room on first floor where it was perfect), the bar could have been nicer, the restaurant is not cosy
Review 7:the roof terrass, the swimming pool, the breakfast buffet, taxi in front of the door, accessible and within walking distance of most parts of the city (sea and city center), very nice staff, and very helpful
Review 8:The room was furnished with very old furniture and was very small compared to what the hotel advertised on booking.com. When I asked the staff to show me a photo that shows my room from the list of photos advertised on booking.com they couldn't find it. To me it was clear that they do not advertise all the rooms, only the ones that are in a better condition.
Review 9:The location was 5 minutes to the city centre.
Review 10:Booked parking but wasnt available, no tea or coffee facilities in the room. Booked a double bed but was given twin. Only savior was the location.
Review 11:location
Review 12:Breakfast is a bit disappointing-never in my experience I had old and cold boiled egg; I don't want to be specific but one working there was not very friendly. The AC is not functioning very well and we felt very hot at night and got sick.
Review 13:Central location, very close to the old city; friendly front desk and cleaning ladies
Review 14:We requested a double bed but were given a room with twin beds. Another room was offered after but we declined as we had already settled in and didn't want to move.
Review 15:The location was great and the staff friendly and helpful. I also liked the decor!
Review 16:There was no bad experience although in my openion it is over priced and over rated . Brochure of cause can always paint a pretty pitcure.
Review 17:The hotel was in the right location for our needs .ttpcom
Review 18:this is not 4 stars hotel for me: 1) bed is too hard 2) pillow is too small and soft 3) no air condition and had to open window cause room is very hot, but then very noisy from outside, so could not sleep well 4) there is bathtub but no tap to fill it up with, except with shower head 5) shower head is appalling, water spill everywhere, need changing badly 6) TV has no English news channel or none English channel at all
Review 19:good location
Review 20:Good city centre location near to underground stop from airport. Nice room and good variety in breakfast menu. Reception staff were excellent and very friendly. It is easy to walk into the centre of Malaga and all it's attractions and restaurants bars etc.
Review 21:One waiter in the restaurant at breakfast was quite rude and did not seem to enjoy his job, made us feel we were in the way. I'm afraid I did not take note of his name.
Review 22:Hotel was very conveniently situated to the main Town and it was good value for money.
Review 23:The shower in the bathroom ia awkward to get into and out of and needs updating.
Review 24:Helpful staff, location convenient for restaurants shops and museums. Sunny roof terrace.
Review 25:I thought the breakfast and dinner options were not par. Waiter at breakfast shoved me aside to deliver glasses at buffet. He was rude to others as well. For the money the breakfast was not good.
Review 26:I thought the front desk was efficient and helpful
Review 27:No kettle but that seems to be standard for Spain :) Didn't book breakfast but would have done if a more reasonable price!
Review 28:Convenient, lobby, roof top terrace (although very small)
Review 29:They have a lovely terrace at the top, with a pool and bar, on the website it has photos of the terrace and bar open, with great views over malaga. We went up for a drink and was told it was closed till april. Why have something published on your hotel page, and then go there and it is shut. That was one of the main reasons i chose that hotel, very dissapointed
Review 30:5min walk to centre of town, nice hotel very clean. Parking
Review 31:Smart bar and restaurant but no atmosphere - no people ! Pity the rooftop bar terrace closes after the summer season. With cover it would be great for late night drinks
Review 32:Value for money spotless and comfortable superior room. Close to the old town 15 minutes takes you right past tapas bars & restaurants but it is the far end away from the harbour & beach. The receptionists were delightful, friendly and helpful and we would stay there again
Review 33:Fantastic location, fair price and excellent breakfast. Would have loved tea making facility but cant complain as the hotel was excellent. I will definitely stay there again. We were allocated a beautiful room and the overall appearance of the hotel was high.
Review 34:The price was steep compared to Ibis which looks much newer €63 per night. No breakfast was included for €175 for two nights. Bathrooms very dated, pool very small not a pool for swimming. No kettle in room.
Review 35:The location to the old town.
Review 36:My room was dirty when I checked in. On the one morning I was able to sleep in, the hotel had someone doing renovation work right outside my room (and on the actual door to my room from 7.30 am)
Review 37:Good location, comfortable bed, rooftop bar
Review 38:The pillows were a bit too firm.
Review 39:The room was adequate in size with a large, well lighted restroom. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner in the room worked well. The hotel also has their own secure parking lot which is located directly behind the hotel.
Review 40:small bed, small room, dark room, poor breakfast (lot of stuff, but poor quality apart from the fresh fruits) only spanish channels on tv it's not a swimming pool, just a pool
Review 41:staff is friendly
Review 42:Refurbished since last time we stayed Good improvements . Staff are very professional and helpful Short walk to old city so ideal for tourist trip .
Review 43:Reception staff is not friendly, (not everyone.) And location is easy to go old town but not close. The hotel is located middle(or edge) of old town and new town.
Review 44:Not bad. Nothing special.
Review 45:Only fault was that the rooms were not very well lit making reading difficult at night. Also only one international channel on poor quality TV
Review 46:Location was good just 5 minutes from centre
Review 47:A bit of noise from the corridor and reformworks in the hotel. Breakfast a bit crowded
Review 48:Great for a city break. Close to everything, clean, reception staff very Nice. Top floor bar great for a drink before gooing out in the evening.
Review 49:Central location within easy walking distance of town centre and local transport. Taxi rank outside hotel. Great roof terrace with bar and plunge pool..
Review 50:Location was difficult to drive to if you passed the hotel you were stuck in a maze of one way systems. the area is pretty rough with lots of dubious characters.
Review 51:comfortable beds, quiet room, friendly and helpful staff
Review 52:the coffee at breakfast was awful
Review 53:the location is excellent only a 5 minute stroll to the lively centre of Malaga with plenty of shops , bars and eateries .
Review 54:A woman at reception; we forgot a shirt in the room, came back two days later and she was very unfriendly to us. It was impossible to call there.
Review 55:Rooftopbar
Review 56:Car parking was very limited and cramped - but nevertheless close by - swimming pool also small but the sunbathing terrace and views were excellent
Review 57:The roof top bar and terrace - fantastic ambiance - room and location were more than adequate - in all very impressed with Malaga as a city break.
Review 58:Our third stay here and we were very disappointed with the room we were given. It was my birthday and i hoped for much better as our last two stays were very good. An internal room and very dark with the fire escape right outside our window!
Review 59:Breakfast room in the basement - no windows. Room view onto a very decrepit house.
Review 60:Ten minute walk to the central square in Malaga's old town. Super friendly staff, great rooftop terrace, generous breakfast, excellent bath.
Review 61:No complaints.
Review 62:Friendliness of staff, will to give clear advise. We had a room at the back of the hotel, so quiet. Easy access to the old part of Malaga town. Breakfast was buffet style & suited us. Plenty of chose.
Review 63:Service at the pool bar, we haf do go over to inform than that we are there and wanna consume something.
Review 64:the double room deluxe is awsome especially the shower is amazing!
Review 65:Pool was tiny & shallow not a swimming pool more a plunge pool. Very few sun loungers for size of hotel. Drinks were expensive. Poor wi fi coverage in certain parts of hotel.
Review 66:Breakfast, roof top bar and central location.
Review 67:Some staff at the rooftop couldn't speak Spanish. I can't believe I had to be attended to in English in Spain. A man entered my room ignoring the do not disturb sign at the door. The fact that they advertise themselves as a 4 star hotel when, in fact, the room was not 4 star quality, except for the bathroom which was nice and as big as the bedroom.
Review 68:Staff at reception were polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with a wide selection. Near the Corte Ingles and across the dried up river from all the museums and tapas bar. Beautiful view from the rooftop and nice little pool. Having security guard at night was good.
Review 69:You had to sign into WiFi everytime you used it.
Review 70:Good location, easy walk to the centre.Comfortable rooms, good buffet breakfast. Staff professional and very helpful.
Review 71:Room had a slightly smoky smell when we went in which disappeared afterwe opened windows, obviously cleaner or someone else had been having acrafty fag!
Review 72:Location in town was excellent, easy for transport, shops and beaches.
Review 73:The beds were very hard. I think that's the only thing that needs updating.
Review 74:The rooftop pool and the bar up there was wicked! The view was beautiful and the entire staff was sooo welcoming and nice. In fact, I went to 5 cities in Spain and I found Malaga and the people to be the friendliest. The steak and risotto at dinner upstairs was amazing!
Review 75:The pool was much smaller than the photos would suggest, disappointing. Could not get the Jacuzzi bath to work.
Review 76:Had a fantastic room, pity we only could stay the 1 night.
Review 77:No English TV channel.
Review 78:Position was excellent for centre and also transport services. Lovely roof terrace and food delicious. The staff were also very helpful and nice
Review 79:N/a
Review 80:Excellent location, friendly staff and large comfortable bedrooms with good facilities throughout. Breakfast gave ample choice. Close to city centre, train station and taxi rank outside hotel.
Review 81:Requested a larger room because the one I was allocated was much smaller than shown on booking.com - staff were helpful and gave me a bigger room for no extra cost
Review 82:Went up to roof pool on first day, sun beds full of people clearly set for the day with no intention of ever getting in water. Area full but pool empty!! thought it would be good place to chill out but most unwelcoming and didn't go back (down to guests rather than hotel)
Review 83:At first glance this didn't seem a great location but actually its really handy for the city centre and the north west section of the city (just across from hotel) is very interesting.
Review 84:perfect location if you prefer to stay not near the sea. (20 min walk from nearest beach) few steps from downtown. Hotel has private parking (what is quite comfortable). Small swimming pool but enough for staying for few hours. Everything clean and comfortable. When you book this hotel you should understand that it's not 4* hotel, it looks like 3+*. Staff friendly.
Review 85:Room to much noisy from back street with traffic at any time. Swimming pool too smal to be used, 10 people makes it crowded. Far from beaches.
Review 86:Position colse to the city center to be reached by foot.
Review 87:Great location Central but quiet. Lovely roof terrace, great during day for food drinks and dip in pool and great for dinner and drink with lovely view of Malaga at night. Rooms at back have lovely view. Comfy beds big bathroom.
Review 88:Thought the breakfast was expensive and the dining room rather dark. Went out to a bar for a fraction of the cost.
Review 89:Lovely staff and gorgeous fluffy towels!
Review 90:The coffe was very poor at breakfast and the milk in the machine was off. Some of the receptionists could have been more helpful
Review 91:The beds were very comfortable and the roof top bar and pool was a great addition
Review 92:reception staff very un helpful - they would not even book us a taxi for the airport at the end of the stay. Swimming pool and sun deck very small and disappointing
Review 93:central location
Review 94:Bartender at the rooftop was not friendly at all and every day in a bad mood, made the experience less beautiful, que pena !
Review 95:Nice hotel, fantastic roof top bar, very good location, very helpfull lady at the reception, breakfast buffet was lovely !
Review 96:had to change rooms as the 1st had a dirty bathroom with a bag of used tissues and part of the bath mat shredded in the bath, the 2nd the wardrobe door was off its runners which I repaired. First impressions always count.
Review 97:Small room for that price Wifi signal on the poolside of the roof is very weak
Review 98:Pool on the rooftop! Live entertainment in the evenings Clean room, spacious bathroom Nearby centro Malaga
Review 99:Nothing.
Review 100:The location was excellent. Minutes across bridge from centre of old town, shopping, restaurants and night life. Lovely pool on roof and bar restaurant. Food excellent.
Review 101:Situated on a very noisy street.shouting and singing until early hours. When that stopped the refuse collectors started up. Suffered sleep deprivation.!! Room very small.
Review 102:Hotel very central for old town. Only 5 minutes walk to the centre.
Review 103:The staff seemed uninterested and as though they didn't want to be there. We paid for a superior room but had to double check that it actually was one as it was very small and didn't even have a bath, the staff didn't seem to care about our feedback. A good proportion of the sunbeds were broken and with there being so few to start with this wasn't good. There are no options for alcohol in the mini bar and room service stops at 11:00
Review 104:The rooftop pool and cafe bar is great especially for a city centre hotel. Also they provide free water and soft drinks in the mini bar (however there is nothing else in there).
Review 105:First they give us a room with a very bad smell, and the window view was internal background stairs, the girl from the reception replace it with a smaller room which has a better smell.
Review 106:Rooftop bar view was amazing, the location is not bad, 5 min to the city centre.
Review 107:Staff could NOT have been more helpful Great value Huge bathroom 5 minutes from the indoor food market Located perfectly for MALAGA and all its finery!
Review 108:Hair dryer not very powerful so would recommend to bring your own hair dryer. Also, no coffee making facilities, but it didn't matter too much as there was a bar selling coffee in reception in the mornings.
Review 109:Great location. Friendly staff. Lovely sized rooms and bathrooms with bath and shower. Lovely roof top bar and pool, great snack menu for an afternoon nibble.
Review 110:very small splash pool with a limited amount of sun bed space.
Review 111:Staff were courteous, friendly and well trained, the hotel is situated only a 5 min walk from the centre of old Malaga. Very nice rooftop bar and restaurant
Review 112:The hotel is very old, the pictures shown on booking website are definitely photoshopped so do not get charmed. My room was very old furniture, bed super hard, bathroom vert basics with rusty bath tub. I complained to the the reception and all she could tell was "sorry". the manager came and he offered a 8euro discount for the night i spent there. I asked why the photos on the website are not exactly the same ..answer: these are the premium suites…well if you can splash 350euros a night for that standard then go for it…if not i do not recommend,,….i checked in unhappy and left unhappy!
Review 113:location is good, you can walk to the old city in few min.
Review 114:The rooftop pool was small but a good plunge pool in which to cool down but not big enough for a proper swim.
Review 115:The sound-proofing was excellent and the hotel was comfortable, clean and quiet. There was an excellent choice at breakfast and the staff were hard-working and very helpful. Lunch was excellent and very good value but dinner was expensive and disappointingly boring. The staff were all very courteous and polite.
Review 116:We decided to have breakfast in the restaurant, which was ok. Our daughter, as usual, wasn't eating efficiently so we decided to take a couple of bread rolls with us for her to eat later. A waiter came over to reprimand us for taking food out of the restaurant which 'wasn't allowed'! Whilst I understand the problem the rule is trying to solve, we certainly weren't taking out an entire meal and this over zealous interpretation of our actions wasn't appreciated
Review 117:The roof top bar, friendly staff, nice facilities
Review 118:With the exception of one girl, the front of house staff need to smile more and interact with their guests, I cannot believe management are happy with how they stand behind reception and look as if they are doing us a favour. Limited eye contact. Not good.!
Review 119:Location
Review 120:Sun beds around pool could do with repair or replacement as several were broken. Beds on room very hard
Review 121:So convenient for city centre and shops and restaurants
Review 122:Hard bed
Review 123:Lovely hotel very near the centre of Malaga but calm. The rooms were extremely spacious and clean and the breakfast, except the coffee ( not real ground coffee beans) was excellent.
Review 124:Lack of CNN or BBC on TV.
Review 125:The roof top pool. The pool staff. The reception staff had been pleasant and helpful when we changed rooms due to twin room allocation rather than double. Bathrooms with double sinks are a good size. Free soft drinks in room mini bar.
Review 126:Corridors and terrace dated and worn, not really a 4* hotel.
Review 127:Good location by old town and near station, pool was small but good fun and food on the terrace was really nice. Room modern and value for money.
Review 128:Called room service over an hour before they stop serving. The phone rang and rang but no one ever picked up. I tried three different times, but still no service. I was really disappointed as I was too tired from traveling to find a restaurant outside the hotel. Additionally, the bed was broken! It wasn't too bad since I was alone, but if my partner had been there, the tilt from the broken leg would have resulted in one of us falling off the bed.
Review 129:love the location and decorations in-room. They also have a lot going on there with their rooftop bar. pretty cool! really beautiful at night
Review 130:Staff was unfriendly and seemed preoccupied. Uppn arrival the receptionist wrote down my credit card details on a piece op paper. We told her that this was highly inappropriate in relation with credit card fraud. She seemed suprised and said the details in the system were enough. Then why write it down in the first place???
Review 131:Showerhead could not be turned and came out like a running tap. Was miniscule problem. Very small pool - it looked bigger in the photos
Review 132:Location, very clean, safe parking at €13 per day, right on the edge of the old city. Fantastic stay
Review 133:I did read in the comments that the staff in the roof bar where a little unwelcoming and this seemed to be the case.
Review 134:Decor was really nice, felt welcome, rooms really nice, air conditioning easy to work, close to the city,
Review 135:Pool could be bigger. Prices were to high during "La feria"
Review 136:The staff is great and there is a familiar atmosphere. The roof terrace is great and you have little pool up there aswell
Review 137:Surrounding area a bit scruffy.View of car park. Room mix up. Asked for twin bedded. Expensive just for room.
Review 138:Quiet, compared with more central area, as Fiesta week. Bed comfortable. Good, cafe over the bridge for cheaper breakfast.
