Reviews for Pensión Mirador Fin da Terra
Review 1:The lovely view meant an arduous climb in order to get to town. Lighthouse about 3 km away. While the linens were excellent, the rubbery, plastic, noisy matresses cover was hot and ill fitting- it really hampered our ability to sleep comfortably.
Review 2:The room was beautifully decorated and had a lovely balcony overlooking the city and bay.
Review 3:The pension was well located with terrific views of the Bay, the town the backside of the Cape. it was clean and the proprietors were kind, professional and efficient.
Review 4:It is a great location with fabulous views. The staff is wonderful and accommadating. As soon as I checked in I added additional nights because it was so enjoyable there.
Review 5:Aside from microwave, no cooking despite the stovetop in the kitchen.
Review 6:Pleasant staff who accomodated our request for room change. Comfortable, quiet room with excellent WIFI signal strength. Bit of an uphill climb but the view was worth it. Would stay again.
Review 7:The owner of pension was very aggressive. We happened to come late at night. The pension was closed. We called the owner and he said that he was actually sleeping! And how we dare to wake him up. But finally he was so "nice" to come and open pension for us. That is so good from his side to come to do his job. However the receptionist girl was quite pleasant.
Review 8:Place for parking
Review 9:There was nothing I didn't like. However, I would not recommend it to travelers who have trouble or find it difficult going up the hill.
Review 10:Loved the location on the hill, I had wonderful views from my room to the town, ocean and mountains. The room was spacious, comfortable and bright. The place had a lovely kitchen and a wending machine for quick snacks. All in all a very lovely place!
Review 11:They have kitchen but the water for the tea you should boil in microwave!
Review 12:Very nice and clean place. It's not in the town centre but not far. Just keep in mind that it is on the hill, so you should go up every time you are coming back home. But it means that the view is great. We would defenetelly stay here again.
Review 13:Staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful. Facility was kept very clean. Guests have access to microwave oven, small refrigerator, and wonderful terrace.
Review 14:No kettle in shared kitchen. Adequate light in rooms but ornate fittings had multiple bulbs missing.
Review 15:Good location. Easy walking distance to town but above the noise. Great views.
Review 16:Unfortunately, as with many pensions I have stayed in Spain there is a weak noise insulation so you can hear people talking from the others rooms, bathroom noises, doors closing etc - Issue for light sleepers like me, earplugs needed! This is the only negative point I have to raise.
Review 17:Fantastic location, very friendly staff and very clean pension! Big kitchen for guests use, pleasant rooms, relaxing place
Review 18:It was very hard to find. When I arrived there was no staff, but a note to call. I do not carry a cell phone. I had to find a neighbour who would call. The initial response from owner was- I was early. I explained I wanted to leave my pack, and explore Finesterra. Eventually someone came, I left my bag, and was told to return after 1 in order to register. I returned and no staff. Again I had to find a phone which took about 30 minutes. Staff came, I registered. there isn't any staff at the sight unless you call. If I had a health problem or injury at night, I would be in trouble because there is no staff to help.
Review 19:The size of the room and cleanliness.
Review 20:A bit of a walk from the town, I was on my own and felt isolated.
Review 21:It was a lovely location high up ion the mountain. They have a great kitchen and a nice area to lounge around
Review 22:It was a shame we were not allowed to use the cooker it was such a wet day and evening to properly cook would have made a difference
Review 23:The location was easy to find and was well signposted
Review 24:The shower walls were not stable so water leaked onto bathroom floor. These should be replaced to match the otherwise pleasing decor .
Review 25:Nicely decorated room with a Balcony & good view over the town & water. Relaxing to see the light changing on the water. In a quiet area with parking for those with vehicles. A short walk to town center. Grocery store nearby. Large Kitchen with microwave, fridge & utensils.
Review 26:Unfortunately the bed wasn't comfortable and there was only a microwave to cook with and we had hoped to cook regularly.
Review 27:A perfect location, close to town for walking, quiet and away from most noise except the night club down the hill which we heard through our open window Thursday, Friday Saturday & Sunday nights all night. Sea view and balcony was lovely and the Rooms are immaculately clean and beautiful. Staff were wonderful.
Review 28:Only tiny comment would be the bedside cupboards smelt damp so I wouldn't use them but then we, like most visitors were pilgrims so didn't really have need to unpack and use them!
Review 29:A little out of the main port area but that made it wonderfully quiet and the views were sensational. Spotlessly clean. Kitchen and table if you wanted to make your own food or breakfast.
Review 30:I wish the hotel was a little bit closer to the centre of the village, but it was fine. Fisterra is small and everything is within walking distance anyway.
Review 31:I liked that the rooms were very clean. The WiFi was fast. The view was beautiful.
Review 32:The building is not manned all the time. When we arrived we had to call a number in order for somebody to drive to the building to give us the keys and let us in.
Review 33:It is located on a hill overlooking the sea. It is very close to the centre. The building feels brand new and very clean.
Review 34:Not so much a "not like" but initially finding the way to theplace was a bit tricky. But no biggy. Also, when I arrived, there was anice note on the door saying to call in order to check in but Ididn't have a phone, so that was one minutes worth of a drag. Iasked a fellow that was painting a neighbors house for help and he madethe call for me. Nice guy and seemed happy to help. The owners werethere in 2 minutes.
Review 35:Very quiet, private location. Very nice room--comfortable and spacious. Not in the busy tourist area, but only a few minutes by foot. Couple ofminutes to a friendly local store. Perfect wifi. Kitchen was reallynicely done with everything one needs. In a nice area for taking quietwalks. Great view of water and beaches. Owners were wonderful and theyhave done an outstanding job creating this place.
Review 36:You need to call for reception, which is fine if you have a phone, was no issue, another guest helped me out.
Review 37:Great wifi Great way to finish the Camino
Review 38:the way up the hill from the bus station was a bit rough, but if you are prepared for it in advance it's no problem.
Review 39:great view (from the rooms with the sea view), very nice room, nice staff, very nice citchen to preper meals, very good value for money
Review 40:The bed was comfy enough but not the best mattress ever and a cotton undersheet would feel even more comfy. However it was very comfortable place to stay overall and all our needs were catered for with the utmost consideration.
Review 41:So welcoming, friendly and quintessentially Spanish. This traditional Pensione was equivalent to a 4 star hotel. They cleaned the rooms and made the beds everyday so we felt spoilt and privileged. Lovely sea views from balcony and enclosed glass fronted terrace.
Review 42:This was a great place to stay after finishing the Camino. It has a fabulous view, great shared kitchen, and wonderful host! I can't say enough about how fabulous this place was. And a great value on top of the great hotel!
Review 43:The property is set off the main road which is a catch 22 because it is quiet with a view but there is a steep paved hill to climb.
Review 44:I really enjoyed the view of the town and shore line. This was the cleanest Pension I stayed in while travelling in Spain. The staff was more than helpful. I came in around 9:30pm and wanted to see the sunset over the ocean.... They were more than kind and drove me to the beach.
Review 45:Lukewarm showers, it was cold in the building, no means of cooking, it was also like an echo chamber, being irradiated by two (2) telephone masts at 10yards and 30yards.
Review 46:The view... we could have that for free but we had already booked and paid....
Review 47:Location is up a steep hill, which of course gives it a marvelous view, but could be an issue for some people. You have to call to be let in, but they arrived within a few minutes
Review 48:Room was great with a terrace and view of town and ocean (distant). Very nice home with nice sitting area and partial use of kitchen. Finisterre is beautiful; we drove there after walking the camino.
Review 49:Was described as central Finisterre but is not quite. If arriving without car ascent might prove difficult for elderly/ out of condition persons.
Review 50:Friendly owner. Very clean. All facilities, particularly kitchen.
Review 51:Shower in our bathroom didn't work properly Limited breakfast (coffee, cake, toast and juice - but it was all tasty) A bit of challenge to communicate with the friendly staff (due to my near non-existent Spanish)
Review 52:Comfortable bed Bright, airy rooms Spacious, bright bathroom Good Wifi Friendly staff Easy walk to beach bar (go for the view, not the food) and restaurant (As Eiras)
Review 53:Walking up hill, but easy for Pilgrims...short 2 blocks.
Review 54:Fabulous views from enclosed porch for eating, drinking wine, visiting and celebrating. Extremely CLEAN!
Review 55:Difficulties with retaining wifi in the room. Although there is a kitchen, only the microwave was offered.
Review 56:The view of the bay and town is spectacular but not too far so one can walk into the town. It is very clean and the staff helpful. My Spanish is minimal. A common refrigerator and microwave oven.
Review 57:Might be an issue for some - you will have to climb/descend hilltop to get to/leave pension (to go to restaurant/run errands) - but the view, property and hospitality is well worth the effort! Still very close to many amenities.
Review 58:wonderful hilltop view, very comfortable, nice lounging/sitting area, full equipped kitchen, friendly staff, close to small grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants - before arriving, I had only booked one night and as soon as I saw the property/room, I immediately booked a second night.
Review 59:Though not a long walk from the Center of activities inFinnisterre, (10-15 minutes) it was all uphill. Having just finished the 900 km Camino, and my wife's legs were sore, (meaning REALLY sore), the ascent/descent mattered. Under the same circumstances we would choose another place.
Review 60:Very clean, very private, good views from common areas
Review 61:The rooms were clean and comfortable and there was a lovely big enclosed terrace with a sea view to sit and relax in. There is also a little kitchen area for some light self catering (no stove). The staff were very sweet- they are not there full time so you most phone when you arrive but this was fine and they came quickly when called. Local cafes will help if you don't have a phone! It was a very nice place to stay after walking nearly 400km!
Review 62:Too far out of town and up a hill - we had already walked 33 km! Very cheap, uncomfortble bed, cheap bed linen with nothing except a plastic layer between sheet and lumpy mattress. Ghastly bolster for two of us, stuffed with lumpy substance, with no separate pillows. Limited toiletries supplied (two sachets) and no milk in fridge downstairs where tea and coffee were provided. The proprietors left the building as soon as we arrived and there were no staff in the hotel overnight or in the morning. We had to call them back to get some more blankets and pillows. The price was much to high for this level of (dis)comfort. It's a pity, as with a bit more spent on the bits that matter (i.e getting a good nights sleep and feeling looked after a little bit) it could be very nice.
Review 63:Nice new, clean place. Nice view from bedroom window. Bathroom ok, hot shower with good water pressure. Wifi worked well.
Review 64:Had to phone someone upon arrival to check in. No owner or hospitalero staying on site, not reassuring or helpful during a hurricane when the wind blows the front door open and no one knows how to keep it shut. Awfully tough to find, and poor signage near the bus stop. Aggravating after a long walk or bus ride, when one arrives in a storm (a frequent occurrence on the Galician coast) and is eager to find a dry place to hunker down.
Review 65:Beautiful vistas, location perched atop the town. Very comfortable and clean rooms and shared spaces. Simple, elegant decor.
Review 66:Could not use the stove in the communal kitchen :-(. There was a microwave.
Review 67:The view to the sea is perfect! Our room (superior) with a balcony was delightful to enjoy a glass of wine! Emma+ were sweet hosts. The bed was small-iish for two (the rooms are smaller than they look in the pictures online) but very comfortable; nice sheets and blanket. Good shower. Grocery store very close by. Walking distance to the lighthouse, if you don't mind 3.5 km. :-)
Review 68:The location was good, just above the main streets. Use of the kitchen very useful in the morning for our early departure. Owner very amenable to request for a room alteration.
Review 69:located at highest point of the town, a bit of a climb just when you think you've finished the camino!! Not staffed 24 hours a day.
Review 70:Nice sea views, clean room, quiet area, good wifi.
Review 71:A bit hard too reach for somebody not so young. Placed above the town and without a car you have to walk quite a bit althoung nothing to worry about if you are healthy.
Review 72:Nice and friendly. Clean and with good comfort and high standard. Placed above the town with a wonderful view.
Review 73:The sea view from the balcony was simply stunning! The rooms were clean, nice and furnished in a lovely, homey way. The staff wasn't on site all the time, but once called on their mobile, they arrived at the property within a few minutes. Easy access to the harbour as well as the bus station (within a walking distance). There's also a small supermarket, bakery and a post office just round the corner. Perfect spot for a quiet stay after finishing off your Camino.
Review 74:The pension is on a hill, so it was a bit of a slog from the bus stop because we were carrying backpacks.
Review 75:Pleasant greeting by owner and explanation of kitchen facilities. Very clean room, good quality sheets and towels. Great views over the city and sea. Good direction signs in the village to the pension.
Review 76:Found it hard to sleep as a result of the wind not helped by a non functioning window shutter
Review 77:A beautifully constructed guest house with very friendly and accomodating staff.
Review 78:A friend had booked and confirmed a room for the same day as I had. However, when she arrived at the Pension Mirador she was told that they had over-booked and there was no room for her. They located another location that was unclean and unacceptable, so my friend was forced to find a room somewhere else on her own.
Review 79:The room, kitchen and living area were all clean and very comfortable. If not for the location, this pension would be ideal.
Review 80:Lovely light and spacious room in an attractive new house. Within a short walk of the harbour/centre of Fisterra but far up enough for great sea views.
Review 81:Booked a room with a balcony and sea view. On arrival owner tried to put me is basic room. Turned into an uncomfortable conversation where she told me to stay somewhere else if i didn't want the room. Ended up having to get her to call Booking.com who sorted it out with her over and the phone and i ended up getting the room i had paid for. Not a nice start to my stay but otherwise it wasn't too bad.
Review 82:Room was older style but clean. Accommodation is up a fairly steep hill but not too far to town.
Review 83:Inadequate kitchen facilities. Only a microwave was available for use and I was told that I could not cook.
Review 84:Bath tub for comfortable soak.
Review 85:Really well run pension with lovely shared kitchen/relaxing areas.
Review 86:Great location on the hill overlooking the main street and the harbour. Includes use of kitchen. Very clean
Review 87:Climbing up the steep hill to get there!
Review 88:Location - stunning views. Comfortable - great to have a good, functional kitchen and leisure area.
Review 89:Lovely large room.......very pleasant reception
Review 90:Great location.....lovely views......quite central yet quiet .....and a very friendly welcome
Review 91:Fabulous view
Review 92:A very, very bright light from outside illuminated our room all night. I would suggest window shades.
Review 93:Lovely, clean room-- close to restaurants.
Review 94:Beautiful location with views of the mountains and sea. Very friendly and helpful owner.
Review 95:Lovely room with beautiful view.
Review 96:Nobody seems to be there to control excessive loudness late at night.
Review 97:Spotlessly clean and well decorated.
Review 98:Kitchen facilities to make a cuppa.
Review 99:Host didn't speak English fluently, but she did communicate...
Review 100:Bathtub in room, view from room
Review 101:Liked the peace and quiet yet close enough to the harbour area
Review 102:Beautiful view and very friendly staff. The hotel rooms are good. Even have a little kitchen to make some tea or coffee.
Review 103:Distance from centre and steepness of location for two 74+ years couple
Review 104:Comfortable and clean
Review 105:A long climb up the hill
Review 106:View
Review 107:Great location with sea view from balcony. Clean & well maintained with limited kitchen facilities. Great value for money.
Review 108:Up a small hill!!
Review 109:Best way to finish the camino!! Super view!! Very-very clean.
Review 110:Unfortunately no breakfast available, small bed for 2 persons
Review 111:Nothing
Review 112:Views and location.
Review 113:Cleanliness, position close to the town centre, laundry and drying service
Review 114:perfect position for an ocean view.
Review 115:High enough for an impressive view of the town, the water, and the other side of the bay. This beautiful place had the feel of home.
Review 116:Beautiful views. Lovely room. Worth the short walk uphill (2 mins)
Review 117:No coffee at breakfast, machine only. Hard mattress
Review 118:Beautiful views and very clean! Very helpful and friendly staff
Review 119:The only downside is that it's up a rather steep hill.
Review 120:Everything else was great.
Review 121:Wonderful staff, great facility and location.
Review 122:Shower leaked but was going to be repaired soon.
Review 123:Far enough away from town for peace and close enough for a short walk to city center.
