Reviews for Posada San Fernando
Review 1:We arrived on Sunday and could not see the nicest parts of the building until Mon morning - we could access only the corridor leading to our room as the rest was closed on Sun afternoon and evening. I guess it is not a problem during the week, though.
Review 2:It was wonderfully located and had a great atmosphere of an old, but beautifully renovated mansion.
Review 3:Patron could be more welcoming. Suspect plumbing (bad smell of drains in our bedroom) had to be moved, to a inferior room. Unintentionally there on a Fiesta weekend so very noisy into the early hours. Little sleep. Not their fault but would have appreciated a heads up when booking.
Review 4:Located in the centre of a lovley traditional Spanish town and close to sights bars and restaurants. Character building stylishly converted and decorated. Helpful staff
Review 5:Hardly saw the owner during our 3 day stay, but he did find time to charge my credit card with the full amount the day before we arrived, despite the agreement with Booking.com that we pay at the end of our stay, either with the credit card used for the guarantee, or by other methods. We were the only hotel guests on the first night, but the cleaner did not come to service the room until 17.00 the following day when we were resting, as the outside temperature was 41C, so the room was not serviced, nor was it serviced the following day, despite requesting a morning service. The problem did not lie with the cleaner, she was the only member of staff and seemed to be in charge of reception, the telephone, the breakfasts on the outside pavement for "walk-ins", the whole of the hotel cleaning, including the rooms, and anything else that has slipped my mind.
Review 6:The air conditioning in the room coped admirably with the extremely high temperatures.
Review 7:Lovely ambiance was spoilt by less than good service at dinner and breakfast. The staff are untrained and can't cope. Seriously big room for improvement.
Review 8:The situation is perfect, the reception is very friendly and the rooms are as you would expect at those prices.
Review 9:The room was a bit small and lots of stairs to the fourth floor.
Review 10:Marcos at the hotel was extremely helpful and kind, eager to make guests comfortable. You are right on the plaza and can observe and enjoy the town culture, music and festivals. Easy walking to restaurants and historical interests.
Review 11:The hotel has recently been renovated and is stunning and beautifully done. It had such a quaint boutique hotel feel to it. We were upgraded on arrival for no extra charge as the owner had a suite available. Our room was fantastic in every way and very comfortable. The hotel is situated on the main square in the bustling old part of the town so an idea location with short walks to everything. Our room also over looked the main square which was lovely. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and welcoming to us also.
Review 12:Booking.com charged more than the hotel advertised in reception. Although I had asked for a quiet room we were given ones overlooking the town square which were very noisy during the night. Curtains did not stop street lighting coming in so bedroom very light throughout the night.
Review 13:In town centre and building had character.
Review 14:The shower took several minutes to heat up, leaked water, and fell off the wall. The room was described as having a coffee maker, which wasn't there; when we asked the owner, he said that this was only in superior rooms; this is something that Booking.com needs to sort out with the hotel. The owners twice asked us for money, although we had paid in full; fortunately we had the credit card bill to prove that we had paid.
Review 15:The location on the best plaza in the heart of the town. Central but quiet. Very attractive hotel, with spacious rooms.
Review 16:Wifi didn't work in the room. It worked in the patio outside the room.
Review 17:Comfortable room, beautiful decorations and furnishings, and friendly owner. Perfect location on a charming square.
Review 18:The location is difficult to reach by car, free parkings are at walking distance, but no clear indication is given and it is easy to get lost in the deadalus of small medieval streets. The room was nice, but in the bathroom there was not a single place where to leave our stuff, to hang a towel etc. A shelf or at least a chair or stool inside the bathrooom would help a lot. The heating was weak and we suffered a bit the cold (but this is a general consideration for andalusia: in general the equipment is rather against the heat of summer, but little there is little heating in winter).
Review 19:The town of Carmona is very beautiful and worth the visit. the Hotel is in the old historical center in a very nice square. The building inside is furnished with old restaured furnitures, in agreement with the architecture. Staff very friendly even if not greatly helpful.
Review 20:Wifi can be a problem.
Review 21:Room and beds were comfortable, everything worked TV etc. We got the quiet room we asked for with a window. Bathroom and beds clean and comfortable. Great tapas bar in the square. Lots of good advice from the hotel staff.
Review 22:Parking was Always possible but not always easy;
Review 23:Location re. Sevilla, Ecija and the Sierra de Morena; Location at the center of the old city; The helpfulness of people; The charms of Carmona with all its historical places
Review 24:Great location at the main square in Carmona, public parking 200 m from the hotel. Good breakfast and very friendly staff. We absolutely loved the view from the room, the furnishing and decoration of the room and bathroom (beautiful tiles, Yves Rocher shower gel & shampoo etc.)! One of the most romantic and beautiful hotels in Andalucia. I only wish we had stayed more than just 1 night. We would definitely choose Posada San Fernando again!
Review 25:While the hotel is nice, the air in the room was far from fresh, as there is only 1 small window. Also the bed is of low quality and on the verge of falling apart, the shower also needed maintenance. The available parking is not very close to the hotel.
Review 26:Nice hotel facilities, with a very nice cosy bar, pretty patio & a good small breakfast. The location at the central plaza is great as well. There even was a Flamenco concert in the bar on Saturday night.
Review 27:The staff were brilliant, very helpful, will definately go back to this hotel and tell my friends. We took a bus to sevilla from here in 45 mins, great tapas bar next door GOYA, best chips I've ever had, and try the rinones y Jerez
Review 28:Safety: no escape routes marked, main door locked at night (impossible to be opened from inside)
Review 29:Central location, friendly staff, great setting, good food nearby
Review 30:Breakfast a bit like grabbing a coffee in a workman's cafe.
Review 31:A unique character building in a beautiful square. Stunning!
Review 32:Location, staff speak English, good shower (though a bit small!), comfortable beds and great value.
Review 33:There was a stale smell every time we would come in from outside.
Review 34:The staff was very friendly and helpful. They made our stay comfortable.
Review 35:Location and value.
Review 36:The location is fantastic, right on the square. Great Mojito's.
Review 37:At check out owner quoted price in Euros then tried to charge card in dollars at huge mark up. Unhappy at being caught
Review 38:Location
Review 39:Wifi only in public area
Review 40:Nice, confortable and quiet location, restaurants around the corner
Review 41:Everything
Review 42:Being right on the square was fun. The decor throughout was very nice.
Review 43:The room was very small and needs updating. There was no place to putanything. (This was especially annoying because we had booked a 3-nightstay.) The only available surface was a small, round lamp table, nodrawers anyplace. We had to put one suitcase in the bottom of the darkwardrobe (which had a very creaky door), and one in the bathroom. Therewas no bedside lighting, no shower curtain, no hook for the shower head, and no place in the bathroom to hang washed items. Just a veryinconvenient set-up. We should have asked for a different room, as Ihave read other, more positive reviews of the hotel.
Review 44:The picturesque hotel is in the center of town, within walking distanceto everything. The public areas are very nice and the staff is veryfriendly and helpful. Carmona is a picturesque town with easy access toSeville and Cordoba.
Review 45:Lack of advertised hair dryer and coffee making facilities in the room. There was no wall fixing for the shower head so it had to be used hand-held. Low hum from the electricity distribution box in the room (#4) audible at night. No bedside lights.
Review 46:Location. Characterful old building, sympathetically restored. Several small sitting areas although often without comfortable seating. Full-size roll-top bath. Pleasant staff. Several places to eat and drink within a few meters. Little street noise at night.
Review 47:Contrary to what was shown, there was no hair dryer and no tea and coffee making facilities and there was no contents in the so called minibar.
Review 48:The location was marvellous .. Right in the historic square. Ideal.
Review 49:The room was small. It was very noisy with children playing football outside the window both nights we stayed. The wifi didn't work in our room.
Review 50:It is very central to all the historical sites in Carmona and as a base it is fantastic.
Review 51:Only one member of the desk staff spoke English, and we kept missing each other. My problem is I don't speak Spanish, so I needed to be very resourceful to find out some simple things . . . The tourist office is very helpful, and staff at more upscale hotels were also helpful. The bathtub (huge and glorious) leaked. One of the awnings was broken and needed replacing. The door needed shaving at the bottom. If you like to be on your own and discover things for yourself, in a beautiful historical centre in a magnificent natural setting, and you don't mind lack of service, Posada San Fernando is a place to stay. I'd recommend it to some friends, but not to others.
Review 52:I liked the location, overlooking the main Plaza in the historical centre of Carmona. I enjoyed listening to the people using the plaza, from young boys playing football to groups of friends meeting for the evening. It was perfectly quiet after 10pm. Then, on Wednesday everything went dead. What I didn't know was that the town's social centre had shifted to the feria 10 minutes' walk away. The Posada is lovely, built around two Andalusian courtyards. The location is great for walking the historical centre. And there are frequent buses to Seville on weekdays, as well as a coach to Cordoba morning, afternoon and late night. The room was fine, bed comfortable, clean . . . With a refrigerator, which was a plus.
Review 53:We were very disappointed with our room and the location which although on paper sounded nice was in fact very noisy both late at night and early morning because it overlooked the square. The room was not what I would class as a double room being just enough space for a very very small double bed plus a wardrobe. Nowhere for luggage. When we arrived the fridge was not working so we asked for it to be looked at. The late staff was less than helpful. However next day it was changed but the replacement didn't work either! Through the night water ran out of the air con unit onto the edge of the bed and the floor. The bathroom was in fact spacious but taken up with a large bath with shower over but no curtain so unusable if you wanted a shower (which was requested). Would not recommend for any length of stay.
Review 54:Comfort & style in great location at a fantastic price. Hotel is reallycharming, not perfect, but friendly helpful service/staff address anyprobs. Location in the lively, but not noisy, Plaza is great for dining.Cannot recommend this hotel enough.
Review 55:Be sure to check that the hot water main stopcock/tap in the bathroom is'open' otherwise you only get a cold shower/bath in a 'stand-alone' plastic/glass-fibre 'old fashioned' bath. Glenys was not happy with her cold shower! Ihad a hot shower because I found the stopcock.
Review 56:Central to the 'old town' centre and easy walking to the newer townoutside the town walls. One way streets are soon worked-out. There is a'free electric bus tourist tour within the town to promote localproducts. Tips are appreciated. Only a couple of weeks into theiroperation of the service. This service stops outside the hotel.
Review 57:Phone ringing several times at about 6.30am
Review 58:Nice friendly staff clean comfortable facilities cool old building
Review 59:Car parking was difficult.
