Reviews for TUGASA Hotel Arco de la Villa

Review 1:Very good location. Easy to travel around the Grazamela National Park - which was spectacular! The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Antonio was very kind to us spontaneously, when we had difficulty getting back to the hotel he was very willing to help. Not forgetting the unbelievable views from all the bedrooms of course!!

Review 2:The head part of the bed was quite lose which made every little movement very noisy. Breakfast is very simple but better than nothing.

Review 3:Beautiful location, good WiFi quality in the room, very friendly staff. Stylish rural furniture, freshly painted room. The village is also fantastic.

Review 4:Saw few bugs around and the bed sheets were a little old and dirty.

Review 5:The view from our room was amazing! Perch right on a Clift, picturesque views of the lake. Located right at the top of Zahara, easy access to the moorish castle that everyone sees from miles and miles away when driving to Zahara.

Review 6:Sadly the hotel does not live up to its location or its potential. Our room was clean and freshly painted, but the bathroom was semi-clean and in need of refurb. WiFi signal is mostly nonexistent. There seemed to be just one staff member each day who had to do reception, bar, restaurant and everything else. Tugasa need to get a grip, invest some money in this place, do it properly instead of the half hearted approach they currently have ...... then this hotel would be fabulous and they would easily get their investment back.

Review 7:This hotel is in the most stunning location, at the top of the beautiful Zahara village - spectacular!! The hotel has masses of potential, it could be fantastic. I would love to buy it and make it into the hotel it should be.

Review 8:Management invisible. Very limited breakfast with diluted orange juice - a definite no - no in Spain.

Review 9:The staff, the clean and neat room. The view. The convenient parking. Good WIFI

Review 10:Room not well soundproofed. Ask for a lower level room.

Review 11:Breathtaking views from room. Short walk to town square and restaurants. Right at the base of the fortress. Built into the side of the mountain. Friendly locals. Great location for exploring Ronda, Grazelema, and other surrounding villages. Reasonably priced.

Review 12:- limited breakfast (much better at other Tugasa hotels) - beds not so comfortable, a little soft - price was fine but it seems hard to complain but the hotel is looking a little tired.

Review 13:- Beautiful views - Built into the rock, cool building - check-in staff and waiting staff at breakfast - Usually parking above - Nice walks into town + into and around castle from the hotel

Review 14:Most of the staff weren't really friendly, nor welcoming. The breakfast was worth nothing: just toast + small cups of different sorts of meat and jam but nothing fresh, very dissapointing. The juices contained lots of sugar. One of the two beds was very uncomfortable because of a bump in the matress. Everything in the room and bathroom was run down. The water stayed in the shower so we made a complaint; later in the afternoon we noticed that it had been fixed. Must have been a nice hotel but not anymore.

Review 15:The location was fantastic, from our room we overviewed the lake and beautiful surroundings. Zahara is a lovely village and from the hotel you're in the center in 5 minutes.

Review 16:Beds were very basic, breakfast menu very limited, but good value for money

Review 17:Wonderful position above a cliff overlooking the lake, only a short walk from cafes shops and town market

Review 18:Breakfast is not satisfying, beds are quite old and not verycomfortable. When you come to Zahara if you try to find the hotel withthe name tugasa it is impossible to find because on all the labels it iswritten as " hotel arco de la villa"

Review 19:Amazing view of Andaculician landscape from the room, good wi-ficonnection, room and bathromm is big enough.

Review 20:Hair dryer in the bathroom rather than at front desk.

Review 21:Zahara de la Sierra is a fascinating white hill town with breathtaking views of the region. We climbed to the Moorish tower and walked the laneways. The hotel was a great place to stay and we loved the views from our room. With all the walking trails, we could have stayed longer. great value for money at the hotel.

Review 22:Poor wifi reception in the rooms. Parking (if you are lucky) is adjacent, immediately above the hotel... but is often full, and looking elsewhere can be a bit of a pain.

Review 23:This hotel is set stunningly at the top of the village, with a castle above it and a reservoir-lake below. The views are awesome. Bar-restaurant service is fine, with excellent prices for a fair range of items. The rooms are basic, clean... but showing signs of age. Best of all is the cost of accommodation: brilliant

Review 24:Looking very tired with flaking paint and frayed carpets, breakfast pretty basic

Review 25:Nice location and view

Review 26:View, location. Parking

Review 27:The view from the windows is outstanding, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 28:rooms were a little dated and in need of some care and attention

Review 29:The area

Review 30:Location. Great view on the lake from room windows

Review 31:Amazing view and great location

Review 32:Wifi should cover all the room

Review 33:This hotel's position is fantastic.

Review 34:Wifi not always available in the room

Review 35:Clean and comfortable.

Review 36:location view from room room decor breakfast parking

Review 37:Not a lot of choice for breakfast

Review 38:Friendly staff beautiful setting a lovely experience with exceptional views.

Review 39:Nothing to not like

Review 40:A very peaceful, concealed hotel with fantastic views.

Review 41:The bedding, while clean, was shabby and worn.

Review 42:The view and the setting for this hotel was nothing short of exquisite! Had we known, we would have stayed longer to explore the park more thoroughly. The staff exceptional, and the food a good value.

Review 43:The wifi didn't work at all, and we didn't eat because the lack of vegetarian dishes. (there were something to eat but not many options). There wasn't any information about the hotel or village available and not much information in english (which worked out fine for us because we know a bit spanish but sometimes you get a little lost)

Review 44:Really beautiful location and great for the money! Nice staff and beautiful breakfast.

Review 45:The bathrooms, very clean but could do with a bit of updating.

Review 46:It was our second stay at the hotel Arcos de la Villa. We liked it the first time round, so we came back. I would say it must be hotel with the best views in the Sierra Rondenia. No frils but good Spanish breakfast. You can spend only one night in Sahara to visit it, or as oureselves treat it as a base for visiting Grazalema, El Bosque, Setenil or Algodonales.

Review 47:Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Review 48:The location was unreal just a 1/2 block above the village of Zahara, at the base of the castle and sitting on the edge of a 100+ foot cliff. The views were spectacular and the staff was great.

Review 49:did not serve any food until 7 or 8 in evening however plenty of local cafes withing 2 min walk

Review 50:Quiet great scenery and easy parking ............rooms also cool hence sleeping no problem.

Review 51:Dinner was not very good and the service was poor.

Review 52:Wonderful views over the lake and easy walking into the village. Fantastic situation Breakfast was very good..

Review 53:Bathroom needs renewal, bath and screen tatty. Room small and sparselyfurnished. We were expecting an amazing view from the windows of theroom. The window were shuttered though we did manage to open it withdifficulty. The walls were 50cm thick and not very wide so not ideal forviews. The man on reception had very limited English or any inclinationto meet us half way with our poor Spanish - hardly helpful. Although thesettings for the aircon were in the room after a long while we realisedthey had no affect on the temperature. It transpired that receptioncontrols the hot/cold for the whole hotel. My wife requested grilledfish with no garlic dressing and this was plainly understood by thewaiter but has to be replaced by which time my meal had been eaten. Iordered fish soup as a starter and was given croquette potatoes. The carpark is very small and congested though there is free parking availableclose by. Despite assertions from reception there was no wifi in room 6.I have a laptop, tablet and Iphone none of which would show any signal. The breakfast consisted of two slices of toast and an assortment of jamsand pates in small tubs, period!

Review 54:Only the view Linen was clean enough I would not recommend this hotelfor more than one night and only then because the surrounding area isjust so stunning and the views across the lake from the upper car parkunbelievable. As a hotel I would definitely not recommend but because ofit's exclusive position I wouldn't rule out going again

Review 55:Nothing at all.

Review 56:Perfect place for those who love quiet little places and nature. Arco de la Villa is on the top of the hill, offering a wonderful panorama. Price is especially friendly.

Review 57:When checking out we had a problem with our bill because Booking.com hadinformed us 25% had been charged on the day of booking, but the hotelinsisted the full amount needed to be paid as they had not taken thatmoney. We weren't able to confirm this until coming home - it turnsout this particular hotel does not follow that policy, but it wasunfortunate as it left us feeling confused and unsure as to whether wehad been charged twice and marred an otherwise pleasant stay.

Review 58:Zahara is a stunning location, really peaceful and the hotel haswonderful views.

Review 59:The room was a bit cold (in January) and the central heating did notwork. The hotel was very quiet as it was off season.

Review 60:Beautiful views from restaurant and bedrooms. Conveniently located incentre of Zahara.

Review 61:The carpet outside the bedrooms was slightly shabby. The bathroom floor was stained and the bath enamel and paintwork were chipped. The room requires upgrading.

Review 62:The location of the hotel was wonderful and the staff friendly.

Review 63:Parking is limited.

Review 64:Location and view!! Hotel is built into the side of the mountain with an awesome view of the lake, mountains, and countryside. The castle is a short hike from the hotel as well as the main square of Zahara. There is also free onsite parking and free wifi.

Review 65:Small details, like litlle maintinance work done in the bathrooms. Missing towel hooks or chiped enamel in the bathtub.

Review 66:The hotel really nicely surprised us. We ended in it only because our original choice was booked up. At the end we are very pleased to discover it. The view from the room is unfogetable, and not only from ours, but all of them face the lake. Breakfast is Spanish, freshly prepared, very good. It was more than sufficient for us. Personnel very pleasent and helpfull. As there is still so much for us to explore in this area, we will definitely come back.

Review 67:The location is great, built on the hillside giving every room anexcellent view. It was 32 degrees while we were there so the airconditioning in the room was very welcome. The beds were comfortable andthe simple breakfast of coffee and toast with a variety of patés andjams was fine.

Review 95:Access is a little difficult - dropping or collecting people

Review 96:Tyhe superb views, modern design with traditional friendliness of Andalucia

Review 97:not everybody within hotel staff speaks English (but they try to do everything to understand and help)

Review 98:Location, view, fiendly staff

Review 99:Fantastic views/location

Review 100:Location, view, price/value ratio

Review 101:Low ability of the hotel staff to speak English.

Review 102:Location on the top of beautiful white village surrounded by Sierra deCádiz mountains.
