Reviews for Hotel Ancora
Review 1:Though we informed the staff that we are leaving early. No staff around when we check out at 0730h. So we left the keys at the counter.
Review 2:Room is very clean and tidy. My family had a enjoyable stay here.
Review 3:Room was excellent with flat screen TV. Very good location 2 mins from harbour Was on a walking holiday and was given a free map and great advice on how to find the start of the Camino Finisterre
Review 4:One word of caution, the beds are very small - barely long enough for my 5 foot 10 frame. If taller and suffering with sore feet, the night's sleep might not be so comfortable.
Review 5:The man at reception is there 7 days a week; he never seems to leave. He is very kind and helpful. He gives u tips on where to go and where to eat, and he is accommodating. He let me change my booking free of charge even though it was through booking.com without free cancellation and he let me leave a few things at the hostel for a few days until I returned from the final leg of my walking trip. The hostel is very simple but it is clean and in a great location so good value for money. There's a supermarket just down the road and it's little more than 5 minutes' walk to the cathedral. If uv walked from St Jean to Santiago and stayed mostly in albergues it will feel like luxury by comparison!
Review 6:The lovely swan towels. Unexpected. Friendly helpful staff. Shouldn't expect it, but appreciated communicating in my language Within reasonable walking distance to waterfront
Review 7:Nothing to report except maybe the broken blind in room.
Review 8:Location was near the centre with parking outside. Fancy towel arrangements on bed. A bit of a surprise considering the feel of the rest of the hotel.
Review 9:no acoustic isolation, you can hear anything in the hotel throughout the whole night. The bath sink smells bad, the rooms are small, and the food is mediocre.
Review 10:I can't rate breakfast as I'm coeliac and nothing I cold eat. Also had to pay extra for good coffee from machine!! Room next door- people in v late and cold hear them talking etc
Review 11:Effort in presentation of each room and lady at reception.
Review 12:Well, the usual "I don't speak Spanish, they don't speak English" makes communicating a little bit hard. I thought that I booked a room with a bath but there wasn't one and I didn't remember that well did I or didn't I and I did not want to go ask because they didn't undrestand me when I was checking in and asked if there was a bath or shower and got for an answer that there is and it's very big. Probably they were talking about the bed... altough I was showing with my hands shower and bath. Oh well, didn't bother me that much anyway, that's just how the language is there. And my memory. The restaurant was quite expensive.
Review 13:Room was clean and very cozy - had a very good sleep. There was shampoo, shower gel, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream and shaver, clean cups in the bathroom. Downstairs you could eat. There was stuff to choose from in the breakfast - toast, jams, butter, fruit, yogurth, pastries (not home made), juice, coffee, tea, cereals. I loved the pictures on the wall while walking the stairs or to my room.
Review 14:My only complaint was that our room ran out of toilet paper. Only a partial took was provided and it's simply inconvenient!
Review 15:The room was very clean and set up beautifully. The little extras make a big difference.
Review 16:Booking.com indicated breakfast was included but it wasn't.
Review 17:Rooms were very clean, beautifully made up with flowers. Good sized bathroom. Staff were very pleasant.
Review 18:From check-in to breakfast, I felt completely at ease which is a bit rare for me. The staff and atmosphere have something unique which creates an easy yet efficient atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Review 19:Too kitch the fake petals, fake flowers, pink feathers, bed net and towels folded as swans. Totally unnecessary.
Review 20:It was good/basic. Nothing awful, nothing wonderful. I liked that it was a room with natural light, and an openable window.
Review 21:Really really noisy, next to a main road. We have to add that it was a summer friday night, so people on the street also were heard perfectly. Early the next morning people leaving the hotel also were heard. Sound isolation, is the weakest point.
Review 22:Room was small, but it was nice decorated and clean and bathroom was ok too and well equiped.
Review 23:smallish room; Buddhist vibe
Review 24:Cute candles in lanterns light the hallways after the lights are out at evening; flexible staff (we purchased a breakfast but then found out we would leave on the bus before breakfast started--one of the owners fixed us up each a breakfast-to-go); right along the road that leads to the lighthouse
Review 25:reception closed the morning I left, luckily I had paid at check-in, would have been difficult otherwise
Review 26:fantastic and romantic decoration, beautiful atmosphere
Review 27:Beds not super comfortable - but hard to complain at that price. They happily changed our room when the shower tap needed replacing.
Review 28:Very clean hotel and friendly staff. Good location (although the town is small, so its hard not to be).
Review 29:No wifi. Poor breakfasts.
Review 30:Good location, very clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated rooms. Great details like candles on the corridor floors or bed baldachin.
Review 31:The dinner was awful. the fish was s pieces that I would use as bait in a crab trap.
Review 32:Room set up was like a cruise ship with the towels folded like a swan.
Review 33:we only stayed there one night
Review 34:the staff was great and helpful
Review 35:Lovely room, clean and nicely decorated!
Review 36:Location and cost
Review 37:Very noisy at night because of the bar, traffic and paper-thin walls. Nothing ready for breakfast at 8.30. Bordello decor.
Review 38:Location and price
Review 39:Good beds, many fine bathroom amenities, towels folded like birds, location.
Review 40:Todo
Review 41:Lamentable

Review 43:The location is perfect - very close to the bus stop and to the center, the room was very nice...
Review 44:It was kind of funny for us three guys to be given what seemed to be the bridal suite. But no complaints!
Review 45:The swans were cute! Nice quiet location
Review 46:Slow wifi in room
Review 47:Good value for price, room is exactly as picture. Clean, good location within 5 min walk to Marina and bus stop to Santiago.

Review 50:The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay superb
Review 51:problems with wifi expensive loundry

Review 53:Good affordable hotel. The breakfast was great and very good value.
Review 54:Nice place....good price
Review 55:Staff and fun decor of rooms.
Review 56:That place looks more like a hostel or albergue. The cleanliness is very questionable.
Review 57:Remote parking
Review 58:Location
Review 59:The noise from other rooms. The room was small.
Review 60:The grocery store was close by.
Review 61:Staff were really helpful. Location was good.
Review 62:The candalinas in the corridor were nice.
Review 63:The toilet seat was broken. I reported it but it was not mended.
Review 64:The hotel is set back quite a way from the beach and the room we had was at the back with no view at all. Just into an enclosed courtyard for ganging clothes.
Review 65:The room was clean and comfortable while the bathroom was spotless. It was a good place just to sleep and from which to walk to the lighthouse.
Review 66:Clean. Room was decorated with "swan towels" and flowers (plastic but cute). Owner speaks English. Restaurant next door. No elevator so lots of steps for upper floors.
Review 67:Staff were extremely friendly and worked hard to accommodate every request. The meal served in the restaurant was delicious and good value for money. The room was decorated in a romantic manner with rosé petals on the bed and towels folded into elegant swans. Candles lining the stairways added to the romantic ambience. Hotel very close to town and all amenities. Hotel was very quiet
Review 68:TV did not work and one night the hotel restaurant downstairs had a party with loud music until 5am.
Review 69:Friendly staff. Comfortable room - nicely decorated. Large, modern bathroom and plenty of natural light.
Review 70:Don't add on the basic breakfast. Terrible. Left early whenwe checked out and missed our second breakfast. No Internet onsecond floor.
Review 71:Clean rooms, very quiet, thoughtful touches, good location, friendly staff.
Review 72:Owners were extremely friendly and made great efforts to ensure comfort of guests Accommodation was spotlessly clean Radiators in room worked and helped ward off chill! Extremely good value for money Found parking right outside front door!!
Review 73:Great location and nice and clean a great upgrade after completing the Camino without blowing the budget.
Review 74:The room was very well presented.
Review 75:The decorated bedroom was a bit excessive, fake flower petals everywhere, towels folded in weird shapes. Cute but unnecessary.
Review 76:Close to port, clean.
Review 77:The welcome & the huge bathroom. We had a great stay
Review 78:I didn't like the intense perfume smell of the room...
