Reviews for Hôtel de la Rhune
Review 1:We really appreciated the helpful and friendly welcome from all the staff. The family room for 4 people was very convenient and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 2:located in the centre of the town, free public parking outside the hotel, very helpful & friendly staff, great views of the surrounding mountains too...and a great terrace at the bar!
Review 3:Nothing!
Review 4:Fantastic location in Basque village - sat out for drinks and tapas watching local pelota teams (court outside front door!) - great staff. You can eat and drink in the shaded garden beside the ancient church walls.
Review 5:Booking.com site says it has a restaurent but it has been shut for several years. although to be fair there are several restaurants in the village.
Review 6:Located in pretty village, beautiful views. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Nice garden.
Review 7:The bathroom was very snug. The room overlooked the square and a small group were having a wonderful time in an adjacent bar until the early hours.
Review 8:The staff were very welcoming and interested in the quality of our stay. The garden attached to the bar was very welcome after a day in the car. Many bars and restaurants close by
Review 9:Nothing.
Review 10:Easy to find, ample parking close by and plenty of restaurants nearby, a good place for an overnight stopover. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Review 11:The friendliness of the staff. The warm welcome and the excellent breakfast. There were plenty of restaurants in the town where you could enjoy an evening meal.
Review 12:Local bars made us feel very unwelcome. Especially the bar directly next door. The food at the hotel was average at best.
Review 13:Location was very good, right in the town center, close to all amenities. Staff friendly and happy to help. As a young English couple they tried their best to assist us with the language barrier and other sorts.
Review 14:Very poor standard of room, no restaurant, no English spoken by staff, no air conditioning. The new owners are living on the former reputation of the hotel which we found to be extremely misleading. It is certainly not a 3-star hotel.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Location, friendly staff, shaded garden.
Review 17:The location was very picturesque and the local bus service was ideal for our needs!
Review 18:Hotel a little 'tired' but made up for by lovely staff

Review 26:Didn't like the room rate had increased slightly
Review 27:Lovely view over hills Friendly staff Very comfortable bed
Review 28:Friendly staff. Convenient room layout for 3 friends to share family room with privacy. Good continental breakfast.
Review 29:Kindness of the staff!!!!!!
Review 30:Beds. Could be easily fixed with newer matresses.
Review 31:Location. Value for the money. Quietness.
Review 32:The breakfast was excellent, and the staff very helpful and friendly.
Review 33:The room smelt of smoke and the bed linen was too small for the mattress and therefore all the mattress corners lifted up
Review 34:Nothing much
Review 35:No kettle in room, no bar or restaurant in the evenings. The details on line state that the hotel staff spoke English but was not the case during our stay, but was not a problem for us.
Review 36:Staff were friendly, good location, easy to find, parking available at this time.
Review 37:Limited variable wi fi
Review 38:Friendly family run all staff very helpful. Excellent parking available at the rear of the hotel Quiet and clean with wonderful views of the mountains. Good English spoken
Review 39:Bed wasn't very comfortable. When you walked across the floor the wardrobe shook and rattled.
Review 40:Staff was very nice. The hotel is very cute. The town is very very nice.
Review 41:After we left on holiday we were informed by the hotel they had no restaurant. I checked on their website again, and yes, they were still advertising their restaurant! Of all the hotels we stayed in this was by far the most disappointing, and certainly not value for money. The 'twin bedded room' was a small double bed and a up-me-up! The towels in the bathroom were old and frayed, and not one was the same as another. On the website this was classed as a 3 star hotel, but it was in fact only 2 star.
Review 42:The bed was diabolical. It had a plastic undersheet! The bedroom door was strangly jammed when we wanted to leave.it took us a few nervous minutes to open it.
Review 43:The reception
Review 44:Hotel was old. No toiletries, no hair dryer, hard bed, creaky floors. Good for younger people sharing a room on a budget but not for a retired couple.
Review 45:Location was in the center of town. Restaurants within short walking distance. Parking was easy in front of hotel.
Review 46:Hotel does not have a restaurant, only serves tapas
Review 47:Hotel has most likely seen better days but rooms have recently been renovated; friendly staff
Review 48:location room Ascain itself
