Reviews for Hotel Patagonia Sur
Review 1:This is a new-build hotel on a corner plot. The architect was clearly told to cram in as many rooms as possible. Our room was very small and awkward. Bathroom was fine though!
Review 2:Great old town location. Great staff.
Review 3:Small thing - the shower door opens at the same end that the shower head is, making it challenging to get in when the shower is on without splashing water everywhere.
Review 4:Excellent location in the old town. Easy to get to from bus/train terminal (15 min walk max) and right off the square in front of the Cathedral. Room was fine for one person and appreciated the coffee/tea facilities in the room. Wi-fi was good too.
Review 5:Due to lack of parkingspace in the old town centre we had to park the car in the Canalejas parking for two days, which came to 42,00 euros. Rather expensive but well situated for us.
Review 6:Very friendly and welcoming staff that also gave extensive information on what to see, where to eat, ... Small room but a lot of place for clothes etc. and lots of nice surprises, such as tea and coffee offered, minibar at fair prices, lots of nice bathroomstuff offered. Very clean room and bathroom. Elevator ! Very nice breakfast that was included, so we had it at a fair price. Very nice lady serving coffee. The situation of the hotel is excellent when coming from the Canalejas public parking (easy acces and must be only about 200 m away) and on your way tot the hotel you find the tourist information centre, handy for getting a citymap etc. ...). Cádiz itself is a beautifull, very pleasant place to visit, locals generallly are very friendly.
Review 7:The staff were amazing and always helpful! Breakfast was simple but excellent and clean! I forgot my iPhone charger and they found me one! Wow who makes that effect these days!! This is where I will stay now every time I go to Cadiz.
Review 8:It was difficult to find with our gps 5 year old maps. We had to park atthe nearby garage for 20e and walk. Left our luggage at the receptionbecause we came early and room was not ready.
Review 9:The room is very nice and modern, looks brand new or recently renovated.Everything is sparkling clean and comfortable. Shower room is big, thereis a fan and pleasant toiletries. Location is very good, close to theCathedral and embankment. We spent only one night but I recommend it fora longer stay.
Review 10:had difficulty finding the hotel (would recommend printing the directions from the booking.com website). Also recommend to park car at a car park on the edge of the old town and walk to hotel.
Review 11:Central location was great, very clean. We had a small room which wasn't an issue for us, as only stayed 1 night.
Review 12:A bit small room, at the terrace it was smelling sometimes (city or water drain - I do not know). Breakfast might be more reach.
Review 13:Good location, friendly staff, logo of the hotel :) Room with terrace is perfect (hence small)
Review 14:The pictures of the rooms And what we were checked into was not the same room. The pictures shows a bright room but the room we were in was a little dark and a little run down.
Review 15:Loved the central location
Review 16:fairly expensive for no breakfast and a view to a wall.
Review 17:We stayed in the 1. floor with a view to a wall and a small sidestreet with some noise but the windows were soundproof so it was ok, but no nice view to the cathedral just next by. Perfect location for exploring the old town. We also parked our car right next by for a fee.
Review 18:very central to beach and town. maybe noisy because of street location right in town but very handy to train sights etc. Room a tad tight but we didn't spend much time in it
Review 19:The location was brill - right at the heart of the old town. Tea and coffee in the room was a bonus. The bedroom was small but well equipped - nice bathroom.
Review 20:The bed wasn't good and the room relatively small, but many different rooms are available.
Review 21:Location is very convenient. Close to port, station and vibrant city centre. Many good restaurants nearby. Very friendly staff and very clean.
Review 22:Noisy until well after midnight- you'll need effective earplugs. But that's true of everywhere in the centre. Our room [23] was twin-bedded, and very cramped - more like a single room.
Review 23:The location, and the price.
Review 24:Despite the double glazed windows, the street noises and garbage collection and so forth in the early hours were not conducive to a relaxed night of sleep.
Review 25:Pleasant, friendly and helpful reception staff.
Review 26:Room is a bit small but OK for 1 person.
Review 27:Great location in the old town and 10 minutes from bus and railway station. Very nice staff, polite and smiling. Large bathroom with window.
Review 28:Nothing to dislike.
Review 29:From the start when we received instructions on how to find the hotel and parking to the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff made for a good visit.
Review 30:This is a nicely decorated and really clean hotel. It is in a very central situation. It was windy and a bit rainy when we stayed so had some bracing walks along the sea front. We would happily stay here again.
Review 31:A bit expensive and the parking too is far away if you want something cheaper that 20 plus euros a day.
Review 32:clean, location, helpful staff, and surprise, surprise a kettle to make tea or coffee which were supplied. Also mini bar if wanted.
Review 33:Small and crowded desk - hardly enough space if you wish to write something or for two people to have coffee together (and there was only one chair). When we bought some mineral water and fruit, there was nowhere to put them. No shelves in the wardrobe (although there were some drawers). One set of toiletries for two.
Review 34:Location: in the historical town center and not far from the railway station, but in a quiet street. Sizable bathroom with good shower. Electric kettle with teabags and coffee replenished every day. Good size beds (in a twin room). Impressive cleanliness.
Review 35:Central location within the old city and close to the cathedral. Very helpful staff at the hotel. Bedroom with roof terrace was a real bonus with breakfast served on the terrace. Close to beaches, culture and shops.
Review 36:If you choose to get 2 separate beds, you get 2 beds but they are right next to each other. We didn't mind at all, but in case you're travelling with a work colleague and are sharing a room, it might be a bit uncomfortable.
Review 37:The staff was very friendly, helpful and had great English. Great location - right in the old part of Cadiz. Nice room and bathroom with hot water. We felt very comfortable overall.
Review 38:The hotel room is pleasant and nicely equipped with desk and reading lamps. The bath hardware is high end (Grohe), with an excellent shower and bath. Everything is like new and spotlessly clean. The staff is very nice and extremely helpful.
Review 39:Our room was really too tiny to be arranged as a double the way it was: There was nowhere to put a suitcase, let alone open it.
Review 40:Very helpful and friendly staffImmaculately clean roomWe loved the patio- sunny but it felt private.
Review 41:The hotel itself is nice, but nothing particularly special. There is no convenient parking, but once you are parked, it is very centrally located and an easy walk to the major sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 42:nothing; all our expectations were met
Review 43:naturally kind reception (Myriam), provided very useful information and recommendation, despite earlier arrival the room was made with a priority so that we did not had to wait, nice-clean-quite-centrally located; STRONGLY recommendable, WI-Fi well working
Review 44:Our room was no bigger than a cupboard. The smallest bed for two people! We booked late so maybe was the only room left. So don't know what the other rooms are like.
Review 45:Location very good
Review 46:Some scrambled egg at breakfast. Spain doesn't give non meat eaters much choice and hotel buffets in general are great if you like bread, generic tasteless cheese and cakes as an alternative.
Review 47:Everything
Review 48:I couldn't have had a better stay. The staff bent over backwards to assist my every need. The hotel is also perfectly located for every major landmark. I recommend it highly.
Review 49:Walls are thin. I could hear the phone conversation next door easily.
Review 50:Wonderful location a block from the cathedral and many shops and restaurants nearby. Very helpful staff gave great recommendations!
Review 51:Room a bit small but the terrace made up for it
Review 52:We paid for a room with a terrace. This was a great, sunny space. The room was well equipped and had high quality fittings. The staff were very helpful.
Review 53:Was sometimes quite noisy during the night and very early in the morning (street cleaning)
Review 54:Excellent knowledge of receptionist. Toiletries were good quality. Really appreciated being able to make a cup of tea in our room. Central position.
Review 55:The room was so tiny that I could not walk around the bed without stepping on my luggages. It was clean but the price is far too high considering the accommodation.
Review 56:Receptionists: helpfull and very kind Location: in the heart of the old town. Beside the cathedral.
Review 57:The Room that we had was very small. For two people almost not suitable. Opening an window is tough as there is plenty of noise outside almost all day.
Review 58:Top location directly in the city center. Very friendly abs helpful staff. Good wifi!
Review 59:the matrasses were really unconfortable the room is so tiny, we could hardly move around with 2 persons the wifi did not work way too much money for a regular accommodation. even breakfast is nit included
Review 60:the lady who answered the phone when I calked for directions. And the location
Review 61:The champagne available in the minibar in the room. We couldn't drink it and had to throw it away. (We gave this feedback to the hotel staff who did not charge us for it.)
Review 62:Balcony view from room 52 is excellent and well worth the money.
Review 63:For the price- Room very small. Little space to spread things out etc. No balcony/ outside space which adds to the issue. Except for top floor rooms which have terraces for a premium, one of these rooms has bed squished against the wall and next to no space for storing clothes.
Review 64:Location. Tea/Coffee making facilities in room. Air con. TV in room. Smartly presented, clean and modern feel.
Review 65:The double room size is very small for the money they are asking.
Review 66:The staff on the front desk were the nicest and most helpful people I've met in Spain. Location was great.
Review 67:The property was very expensive for what they offered. We got a tiny room where the bed ended in the bathroom and ac made it way too cold to get a good sleep.
Review 68:Location and staff were great. Breakfast was very fresh and tasty
Review 69:More explicit instructions on how to get from car park to hotel, perhaps giving landmarks.
Review 70:Excellent location for all the activities of the Old Town. Our room had a balcony with a Cathedral view, was very clean and well laid out, though compact, as we had expected. The aircon system was very good as it was September. The reception was very friendly and helpful.Instructions to public car park were good.
Review 71:tiny tiny rooms; the highest price we paid in Andalusia was for the room in Patagonia; this is where we also got the smallest room
Review 72:great location, friendly staff, free wi-fi;
Review 73:Nothing.
Review 74:The balcony was large with a view of the cathedral. The room had an electric kettle and coffee/tea etc., save carrying one from the UK.. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect.
Review 75:We had a car and our GPS had a fit trying to find it in the narrow street.
Review 76:Location was good with every thing in walking distance. Staff were very helpful. We would stay here again now were KNOW where it is.
Review 77:Rooms are definitely small It is noisy at nights due to the central location near Cathedral Breakfast is not included
Review 78:Great location near Cadiz Cathedral and not far from all the central beaches Cozy atmosphere in the hotel Friendly personnel speaking English
Review 79:Wifi is too slow?
Review 80:Relatively new hotel with clean and comfortable rooms with a kettle to boil water for cooffe/tea. In room safe is very good .
Review 81:Breakfast is okay, but don' t eat later then 10 Bathroom is not so clean
Review 82:Very close to city
Review 83:Excellent location and room had a lovely terrace which would be great in summer!
Review 84:Pillow too soft. One of the bed sunk in.
Review 85:Friendly staff, good location. Clean.
Review 86:Small double room with terrace much too small for 2 people. Impossible to unpack suitcases.
Review 87:In the middle of old town, could walk anywhere.
Review 88:Very difficult to get to the hotel by car, even using GPS.
Review 89:Location, comfort, cleanliness, sympathy.
Review 90:Parking price.
Review 91:Location. Staff.
Review 92:Not like the picture online, small noisy tucked in an alley no view of anything but a brick wall, very ordinary, worst stay in Spain
Review 93:Bed could be firmer. We were 4 people, we did better for breakfast on the street, 20 euros vis 40 euros.
Review 94:Too expensive but Cadix is very expensive compared to the rest of Andalousia...
