Reviews for Hospederia Monasterio de Poio
Review 1:The entrance to location was difficult to find even with the use of GPS navigation. The lady at reception was lovely however that was as far as it went. There were no brochures or room compendium to advise what was on offer (food, bar opening hours etc.). After the receptionist left for the day, her replacement had no English skills and didn't offer anything except a shrug and a blank response. The evening meal was absolutely appalling to say the least! Soggy cabbage (entrée) what appeared to be lamb or goat chops half cooked in lukewarm oil, accompanied by what tasted like day-old French fries! There was a peach, portion of stale bread and an opened bottle of cheap white wine on the table. Disgusting!!!
Review 2:The fact it was once a monastery and had some historic significance.
Review 3:The setting was lovely. We were on the Camino de Santiago which goes through Pontevedra. We didn't realize how far the hotel is from the city, which was awkward.
Review 4:They didn't have any double bed available. The GPS got crazy trying to get me there for the first time.
Review 5:Fantastic location, quite central to Galicia, great sights, beautiful property. Nice localization, quite easy to get there after reaching the hotel for the first time.
Review 6:Bath in the bathroom was very small and when showering water went everywhere. Breakfast was okay but would have been nice to have some fresh bread. There was a cafe/bar but it was never open.
Review 7:Bedrooms very basic but very clean. Bathroom was adequate. Lounges and TV rooms well furnished and clean.
Review 8:Too far away from the town
Review 9:Nice and clean, large rooms
Review 10:Ali aspects.
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:Wifi reception in the room
Review 13:A very nice living room, extremely nice personnel. Beautiful building.
Review 14:Air con wasn't working properly so room was too warm to begin with but it was better with windows open and air con off. Breakfast coffee tepid rather than hot.
Review 15:Large comfortable room, lovely bathroom. Quiet. Only minutes from City centre.
Review 16:I was going to give this a good review. The bedrooms are basic but clean and spacious with a good bathroom. The thing that has prompted me not to is the noise. We were woken at 6.50 on a Sunday by someone sounding as if they were taking the room apart! The trouble is that with the rooms being concrete boxes, any noise made just reverberates round 10 times louder and some people just don't seem to care about how much noise they make. We paid as much for a two night stay here as a three night stay in a Pension. The Pension was a much better stay, so this is not good value so would not stay again.
Review 17:Clean, good parking, ok location
