Reviews for Residhome Arcachon Plazza

Review 1:It was perfect for our family with 2 kids, we each had our own room and it was great to be able to get fresh baked goods from the boulangerie and have breakfast in the room. We looked over the interior courtyard which was perfect - pretty and very quiet. The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the middle of the town.

Review 2:I reported 2 problems a faulty shower head and bedside lamp but these were not fixed while we were there. Also car access proved a bit tricky with the one way streets

Review 3:Location and facilities were both very good and apartment was well equipped

Review 4:As usual now with Booking.com we had to ask for a better room, the one we got as we arrived was not what was expected. Noisy, construction nearby starting at 7:00AM

Review 5:Convenient, close to shops and sea shore, room confortable, nice staff

Review 6:Had problem finding the shuttle and then went on an hour trip in the WRONG shuttle to find I was in the wrong Mercure. I think the instructions can be improved a lot. Also I seem to have a duplicate charge on my credit card and have not received a final account on email as requested.

Review 7:Really good property

Review 8:Have stayed here before and we were upgraded to an apartment from a studio for free. For a very modest price (at this time of year) we had an excellent range of services and equipment in a central location a short walk from the seafront. So much nicer to have your own kitchen so you don't have to eat out all the time. Good wifi too!

Review 9:Nothing.

Review 10:Everything was tip top in Residehome Arcachon. The room was very spacious with a separate sitting area. The bedding was very comfortable and Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The hotel is situated 150 yards from the beach in a quite residential area. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone planing to spend vacations in Arcachon.

Review 11:The daily cleaning was not up the standard that we would expect. The floor was not cleaned for the whole of our 3 day stay and one day the bathroom cleaning was not finished with the toilet brush left in the toilet.

Review 12:Excellent location in the middle of town and close to the beach. The market in the square next to the hotel is very interesting and convenient. Good beds and comfortable apartment. Ask for a room at the back as there is a very noisy construction site in front.

Review 13:Lovely welcome by staff who couldn't do enough for our party of eight Large tasteful rooms with well equipped kitchen and welcome bottles of water Proximity to everything

Review 14:friendly staff couldn't do enough, loads of good information thank you Sylvia and Pauline, will come back next year for the third time. view from apartment fantastic. many thanks to you all.

Review 15:Public car park in underneath residence but is quite expensive. Free car park is about 5-10 mins walk away but is not so secure

Review 16:Location is great and rooms are very comfortable

Review 17:We had problems with parking and the receptionist was spectacularly unhelpful. Because there was a special event the weekend we were staying, it was impossible to drive to the hotel. The hotel car park was full. The 'nearby' free parking was not that near and was full, the adjacent chargeable car park was full. The receptionist advised that we try to park nearby on the road, which was impossible. In the end we had to drive several miles out of town and return later in the day so that we could have a chance of finding a parking space. If we had been informed that this event was happening we would have timed our arrival differently. The information about parking was misleading.

Review 18:A very comfortable apartment near the beach, shops and restaurants.

Review 19:Nothing to dislike

Review 20:The hotels location is ideal for access to both the shops & beach. The staff were very helpful & friendly & the apartment was clean & Well maintained.

Review 21:The only thing that could be a bit better is the air-con, which wasn't quite strong enough to cope with the very hot afternoons and evenings, and the humid nights. Also, the directions given by Booking.com to arrive by car didn't take into account of the fact that driving is on the other side of the road, so when it told us to take the 1st turn off the roundabout, it should have said the 3rd. This caused us a lot of problems, and we know the area very well.

Review 22:Oh where to start?? The location was epic, right on the market square. And the noise of the daily market was definitely not a problem, because the double glazing was very efficient. It was great to be so close to restaurants, shops, the sea, transport, life in general. The flat was superb, well-equipped, spacious, with an awesome, SW facing balcony, and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 23:Air conditioning did not work on first night so had to have patio doors open. This made it very noisey due to bar nearby. Following nights were fine. Room a little small.

Review 24:Great location. Close to beach, restaurants, shops and market. Very good staff especially reception. Corner room with balcony. Very good wi fi connection (router in room). Small clothes airer to hang on balcony railings.

Review 25:It would have been nice to have a pool. Some of the staff was very helpful. One woman spent a great deal of time finding a place for me to get a massage. Others weren't at all helpful. For example when we asked about some restaurants we had researched we were left thinking we couldn't find any place to eat that evening when we first checked in. In reality there we didn't have any problems. There was construction across the street. So our view wasn't great but somehow the noise wasn't bad. Maybe they took a vacation in August.

Review 26:Nice location right on the square. We loved the market and enjoyed being able to cook some meals. The gent at the wine shop was charming and very helpful. We liked the roof top seating area in the evening.

Review 27:The nearby car park looked secure but we found a big scratch along the car when we left & it was expensive to oark

Review 28:Good convenient location for beach and shops, with market very close. Was very clean and staff very helpful. Two TVs in room was great for the kids

Review 29:Parking is very convenient and safe being underneath the hotel, however it is expensive.

Review 30:Perfect apartment for a family, with simple but useful self catering facilities and the comfortable feel of a hotel. The apartment is totally central with easy access to the market and local shops, but also only 200 metres from the beach. On arrival, we were upgraded to a Junior Suite which was a nice touch.

Review 31:The room is too small for 3 people, there is alsmost no place to spread the sofa in the leaving room

Review 32:Excellent location, very good service, very clean, functional kitchen.

Review 33:Worst bathroom design award: how to cram too many things in too little space! Furniture feels a bit cheap for the category. However, those things would not prevent us from going back to this hotel.

Review 34:Fantastic location at the heart of Arcachon. Great staff, very helpful. All the stuff you need to make you own food (no traditional oven though) with wonderful bakeries and a wet market with local foodstuff at your door step. Quiet room facing the patio but typical French building soundproofing where you can hear the steps of the guests in the room above. Overall a great place to experience the area. Good rate using Booking.com (~1/2 price). Arcachon is an expensive place to stay but you understand why when you have the chance to experience it for a few days.

Review 35:Our room was perfect for a 3 night stay with 2 young kids. Ideal location to stroll to the shops & restaurants of Arcachon and very close to the beach.

Review 36:We had our 4 yr granddaughter with us. The closeness 2 the beach. The daily market outside our hotel. The general appearance of the hotel. Helpful staff.

Review 37:the marketplace is next to the building and they start setting it up at 5 am, so it is quite noisy, also the restaurants in the square attract people till the late hours of the night - altogether there are about 4 hours of quiet per night.

Review 38:very convenient location, friendly staff.

Review 39:Booked stay months in advance with large car park space requested. After having paid 100 euro for my parking space on check in, I was then told there was no large space reserved for me. Small 208 Peugeot in large parking space I had asked for!!!!

Review 40:Central location for all Arcachon has to offer.

Review 41:We loved this place. It is centrally located just off (but overlooking) a large square and a stones throw from the beautiful beach. He had a lovely big suite with separate living room/ kitchen and bedroom. The place was spotless. Excellent breakfast.

Review 42:Nothing really. A bit sterile perhaps, but you could easily explain that as practical, modern and clean.

Review 43:Great location, very friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Located next to a lively but friendly square with a big underground parking - 5 minute walk to the beach.

Review 44:No bad news.

Review 45:Spacious, clean, air conditioned rooms with separate bedroom and kitchen come living room. Great balcony for outside dining or aperitif. Beside daily food market, only few minutes walk from train station, supermarket, restaurants and beach. Roof-top terrace perfect for sunbathing or relaxing. Perfect location. Perfect hotel in the heart of Arcachon. 2nd visit for couple in mid 30's, first for 4 days and second for 9 days.

Review 46:Cannot think of anything I didn't like!

Review 47:Love having a kitchen- the market was wonderful - enjoyed having a balcony and the staff at the hotel are fantastic, especially Pauline and Marc. Lots to do - didn't need a car. The location is perfect!

Review 48:The room was functional rather than comfortable and smaller than I had envisaged and indeed smaller than two other friends rooms of the same standard. It needs a splash of colour or a picture or something it is too bland and uninviting. Probably the lease inspiring hotel room I have ever seen!

Review 49:The location is excellent.

Review 50:Location prohibits it but... Parking would have been ideal, especially travelling with a baby. Apartment only cleaned once during 5 night break. Could have done with another visit.

Review 51:Great location. Self catering facilities very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 52:Excellent receptionist, the whole place was as clean as a whistle and perfectly located. The facilities in the flat were very good and not at all expensive. Recommended.

Review 53:Had to wait 90 minutes after check in time to be allocated a room. Parking quite expensive. Building works nearby a but noisy.

Review 54:Very centrall located, reasonably well equipped for room with added kitchen. Large balconies.

Review 55:Difficult to find, if you don't speak French. But that's my fault. It's down a dead end.More info is need when booking from the Hotel.I'll know next time.

Review 56:Very convenient and central. Good location.

Review 57:Love the mix of hotel service with self-catering facilities, right in the centre of the town but still peaceful - our apartment (118) at the back, not overlooking and hearing the market square but just paces from shops and bars. Friendly staff. Very comfortable bed, very good shower: the 2 most important things. Two TVs! Can't fault it.

Review 58:Asked for high floor 4 months in advance... Didn't get it. Supposed to have free wifi during our 3 day stay.... Never worked once, when asked why. Receptionist said, well there's free wifi down by the beach.... Charming...

Review 59:Location

Review 60:The jacuzzi was not warm enough.

Review 61:Friendly staff and excellent location, right in the heart of Arcachon! The self catering facilities was like being at home.

Review 62:kind of funny no dish or dish washer soap???

Review 63:Staff, Room, and location were great. Parking is convenient(12.5E). Be sure and call to have them drop the bollard at the end of the street so you can come to the hotel and unload the bags.

Review 64:housekeeping had to be done by 1pm and the cleaning ladies kept rushing us saying their shift was about to be over dishes were not cleaned, coffee and tea bags were not replaced

Review 65:room well set up: privacy thanks to good separation between living room with the sofa bed, bedroom, entrance, toilets and bathroom

Review 66:We only had a 4 night stay but the market stalls were erected on Friday, Sat and Sunday at 5am which takes at least an hour and is noisy even though the room is double glazed. On Monday when there is no market but the road sweeper comes at 5am. No chance for a quiet lie in. Such a shame as a lovely place.

Review 67:Clean, well equipped and ideally situated

Review 68:Our apartment was smaller than I expected. Not enough wardrobe space..but still ok for the 3 nights we stayed.

Review 69:Nice apartment in the centre of Arcachon so very convenient. Very clean. The staff were very helpful. I liked the spa facility too.

Review 70:modern and clean and good. Great location in the middle of the town just 1 minute away from the beach.little balcony, which has a table and 2 chairs which is nice

Review 71:Staff had a poor English knowledge. Breakfast was good but a bit expensive.

Review 72:The room was very good and clean with equipped kitchen. Location was perfect: just the center of the center.

Review 73:Parking was hard to figure out upon arrival.

Review 74:Excellent location in the middle of the city, with convenient location. Rooms were very decent and the kitchenette convienent.

Review 75:Parking in Arcachon is not easy. We parked in the underground parking in the centre of town and by a stroke of luck picked the exit closest to the hotel whichmade life easier with luggage and our dog. Arcachon beaches do not welcome dogs - a point to bear in mind if you were hoping to stroll along the beach together in winter as were; that'sbeyond the hotel's jurisdiction though. ;-)

Review 76:We were upgraded from a superior double room to a junior suite upon arrival which was an excellent start to our weekend. No outside noise, and the heating in the room was excellent. Our little dog accompanied us and there was no problem with the hotel accepting her, just a 5 euro charge which we found extremely reasonable.

Review 77:Booking.com should ensure proper directions are given to find the hotel. This is done when booking direct and would have saved us 45 minutes of stressful searching for the hotel and parking.

Review 78:The staff were helpful and friendly

Review 79:A strange thing with all aparthotels in Europe - no cloth or washing up liquid.Only a dishwasher which unfortunately didn't turn off all night when we used it!How do you wife down a kitchen without a cloth?!

Review 80:The apartment was superb & all staff la meme chose!Marc made us very welcome & upgraded us to a junior suite.Fluffy towels say everything! Don't look elsewhere!Enjoy.

Review 81:no parking, no access by car - it was nightmare with garmin navigator.

Review 82:I had a huge discount for boking - it cost appx 50 euro for me per night. for this case I have to say everything was perfect

Review 83:VERY difficult to find when driving, rooms very small especially the bathroom, and the shower was rediculously small,

Review 84:Location brilliant, but VERY difficult to find when driving , the breakfast was good,

Review 85:Stench on the terrace (we didn´t know where it came from. Maybe form the kitchen of teh restaurant below.

Review 86:the nearness to market and jettee for boat trips to Cap Feret

Review 87:We didn't have BBC World TV after the first evening due to a problem with the hotel satellite dish but it was in hand very quickly although not fixed by the time we left.

Review 88:Very clean and well equipped. Very comfortable bed (and I am not easy to please). Excellent location. Very helpful reception staff. Very efficient attention to problems - our shower was not working well and it was fixed in a couple of hours.

Review 89:The whole flat was especially designed for persons in a wheelchair, and should'nt be rented to other people. For instance, the table was to high for the chairs, and we had to ask for several cushions to be able to use it.

Review 90:- The location - The bedding - The cleanliness - The interior decoration

Review 91:Nothing !!!

Review 92:Being so close to everything - sea, market, shops, restaurants. Within walking distance of the " Ville d'hiver", easy parking just below the hotel. Love the freedom of having an apartment and cooking facilities, great to have the little balcony.

Review 93:Parking arrangement is inconvenient and expensive. Didn't get a reply to my email asking what needed to be done to park car and check-in. Wifi setup required continuous re-entering of pass/login and was really annoying.

Review 94:Great location. Comfortable. Clean. Excellent facilities. Friendly staff. Secure.

Review 95:Our spacious and comfortable apartment was in the centre of the charming pedestrian area and just 200 yds from the beach. With very courteous staff and public parking underneath the building, we were delighted with our stay at this hotel.

Review 96:The market is located right beside the hotel and our room was looking out at the market. Setting up of the market began at 4am approx and while it was done as quietly as it could be there was still some noise to be heard. When booking at the hotel next time I will be requesting a room located away from the market square.

Review 97:Would be nice if staff looked up from the desk when you entered or left the hotel and said hello!!

Review 98:We were upgraded so that was fantastic and the location and quality of accommodation for the price were both excellent. Having the small, well equipped kitchen area allowed us to take advantage of the local market near-by

Review 99:No sun on balcony. Some of noise from new apartment being built close by.

Review 100:So close to beach, restaurants and shopping. Staff very friendly and helpful. Spacious rooms and kitchen area. Arcachon is beautiful, architecture very tasteful.

Review 101:No free parking facilities at the hotel but there is a car park underneath the hotel which is 22 euro per day. We found free parking on the road just a few hundred yards away for the second day!

Review 102:The hotel is situated in a lovely market square with a couple of bars and restaurants around it which gives a lovely atmosphere. We were there on a Saturday and Sunday and there was an indoor and outdoor market both days. The beach is approximately 2 mins walk away. The rooms in the hotel were of a high standard and there is an adequate kitchen area should you wish to self cater.

Review 103:The one way traffic system made it difficult to access the hotel with the car. Once we found the hotel, they were very helpful. It is necessary to phone them when you are near and they lower a bollard which allows access. We left the car in the car park under the hotel during the whole stay.

Review 104:The spacious airy feeling. Wide doorways, corridors and lifts. The availability to the amenities of the town and the beach. Wonderful wide promenade made for excellent walking whilst the clean wide beaches gave room for everyone. Situated just off the plaza, no passing traffic. We'll go again.

Review 105:In the middle of the square with shops, restaurants and the beach 5mins walk, our junior suite was excellent, overlooked the busy square but great soundproofing so no noise problems. Very friendly and helpful staff and a laundry which was a bonus.

Review 106:Noise due to building work on an adjacent site.

Review 107:Very helpful and friendly staff - especially Mark. They go the extra mile. Clean, neat , nice size rooms, very central location.

Review 108:Rooms facing the square - there was quite a noise from 5.00am each morning owing to market being set up-need to make potential travellers aware of this. Would have appreciated waste bins emptied on a daily basis.

Review 109:This is a fantastic location in close proximity to the beach, shopping facilities & good quality restaurants. The self catering facilities were excellent with spacious living/dining area combined with a good quality comfortable bed & ample wardrobe space.

Review 110:It was a little noisy early morning , cause our windows looked in the street which is very close to the central square where the market starts early morning. Also sometimes there was slight not good smell in the toilet, we think because the tubes are not well isolated

Review 111:Everything was great. Location is central which is perfect, we lived in junior suite which is very comfortable. Great value for this price.

Review 112:Only downside was the parking - we found free parking behind the station about a ten min walk away. Otherwise it is 18 Euros a day at the Vinci carpark below the hotel. The cushions on our couch were a little stained, but we just put them in the cupboard and didn't use them.

Review 113:Lovely apartment with separate lounge and bedroom. Tastefully furnished. Air con was great and much needed. Beds were very comfortable. We were overlooking the central courtyard which was very quiet - no noise at night. Lovely central areas, such as reception and lounge. So central - market right outside, about three min walk from beach, such a lovely town.

Review 114:The building site across the road from the apartment. Noisy work starting early in the morning.

Review 115:The location in respect of access to the town centre and market area. Very polite and helpful staff.

Review 116:The noise every morning, starting around 6.30am, with the market traders setting up their stalls. Despite having the windows closed it could still be heard. A small cramped shower.

Review 117:A good location, near the shops and beach. The apartment was on the 3rd floor and was clean, bright and airy, with a large balcony over looking the market square.

Review 118:Slightly noisy market traders setting up early am

Review 119:Leaving to car in the car park The lovely food available from the market and shops in the square The en suite kitchen which although we didn't use, had everything and more available The feel good factor

Review 120:Although we did not have any problems, parking may be an issue especially if arriving on a busy and sunny day.

Review 121:The hotel is very centrally located, and yet only a 5 minute walk from the beach. Despite it being right by the farmer's market, the building has some serious sound proofing because we could never hear any noise from the market (or other guests). The kitchen had all the things one may need for some light cooking and was even equipped with an oyster knife, which was a nice touch. Service was welcoming and helpful, definitely deserving its 4 star rating. The town itself is lovely and really child-friendly. We highly recommend this place (town and hotel) to any family traveling with young children.

Review 122:Very strange that there is a kitchen excellently stocked with crockery, utensils and everything you need to cook a meal but no dish washing detergent and sponge or tablets for the dishwasher. We were lucky to find a Monoprix supermarket to buy these things otherwise we wouldn't have known what do do but it felt very wasteful to throw away the bottle of dish washing liquid after only staying for a weekend. It would not cost much to include these in the kitchen and would encourage guests to clean up!

Review 123:Fantastic location for exploring Arcachon and Cap Ferret (take the ferry across), loved that there was a fantastic farmers market downstairs just outside, nice to have a balcony, well appointed junior suite apartment except (see below)

Review 124:no car park only a public underground one where you had to walk with your luggage we had a balcony but not like it showed on your website ours was very tiny

Review 125:There is a max 4 people per room (we had 3 kids under 5 years old).

Review 126:Location was great, free parking not far, pay parking directly beneath hotel. Apartment had everything we needed, clean.

Review 127:Some furniture starting to look a bit knocked about.

Review 128:Excellent location with very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 129:Hard to find cheap parking

Review 130:Near the beach, nice!

Review 131:uncomfortable bed

Review 132:Good location

Review 133:Parking is complicated. No wash basin in the toilet-disgusting

Review 134:Very comfortable room. Hotel was very close to beach and restaurants.
