Reviews for La Casa Amarilla Rooms & Suites

Review 1:The room was not very clean, hairs on the bathroom floors when we arrived, shower door was broker (unhinged), as so was the toilet flush. Flush handle fell off the first time we used it. Bathroom was lacking light bulb so shower was in the dark. Also one missing light bulb in the main room. Bed was very uncomfortable, it had a plastic lining underneath the sheets that made lots of noise when moving and generally felt uncomfortable, very hard pillows, so we used the decorative ones to sleep on. The bed is in a loft and at night you MUST turn the light on the get down to the bathroom if you do not wan to break you neck getting down the rickety stairs with barely a hand rail. not very good for elderly or people who are not very agile. The internet wifi was very poor and intermittent. can only use one device at a time, very slow too. the room was not very well lit, only a couple of bulbs in the room of which one was not working. only bedside light on one side.

Review 2:The building and locations are charming.

Review 3:The location was perfect being just a few blocks from the Tangier FRS ferry terminal and the shuttle bus to Algeciras. Breakfast, and dinner locations less than a block away including a mini market. Staff was young, and enthusiastic. Their own restaurant was awesome.

Review 4:The room was directly next to the reception desk so we felt a little bit exposed. However over all our experience was very positive.

Review 5:The hotel was in an amazing position right in the centre of everything. The room was clean and comfortable and even quiet despite overlooking the busy street. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Review 6:Very bad and dirty. Beds are awful .I could not sleep a moment. They put a nylon sheet under the linens of the bed. And there is steps in the room that are very dangerous.

Review 7:good localisation

Review 8:Nothing bad about this little pearl.....maybe some noice at night but that comes with the great location.

Review 9:Fantastic location in the middle of everything. Great and friendly staff both at check in and check out. Loved everything about this hotel - it is not a 5 star hotell with all facilities but in my book it is absolutly 5 star and more.....Will be back!

Review 10:Air conditioner was broken and room was like a sauna. Could not sleep with windows open as loud music from right below us continued until wee hours. One of the beds had sand in it so clearly not cleaned. We canceled second night.

Review 11:Nothing, run the other way.

Review 12:A few more chairs in the central "lounge" area would be ideal-there isn't really a spot to wait for other guests(we were travelling with another family). It can be noisy at night, both from street noise or guests returning late to their rooms.

Review 13:Very clean, nicely decorated, and brought us extra towels when we arrived-without asking. Well located, in easy walking distance to the beach and everything in old town. Parking on the street was an option, but easier(and free)to park beside the port.

Review 14:Right in the heart of the old town, myself and my family (family of 4) enjoyed our stay at La Casa Amarilla. We had a suite which was at the back of the hotel, which ensured a peaceful nights sleep despite the lively night life. €143 for the night in the high season for a family of 4 was excellent value. Will definitely return.

Review 15:Wifi was not working in this particular room

Review 16:Everything was perfect. We got upgraded because i wanted 2 beds instead of one.

Review 17:Best spot in town

Review 18:The mezzanine bed was very hot even with ac on.

Review 19:Good central location.

Review 20:Wifi a bit slow

Review 21:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Perfect location in town, and we stayed an extra night since we loved it so much.

Review 22:Staff didn't know he answers to all of our questions.

Review 23:The location was great.

Review 24:Smelly bathroom, expect NO service or local knowledge

Review 25:location

Review 26:Hard to get in contact with the management.

Review 27:We were promised WiFi but couldn't get it to work.

Review 28:La Casa Amarilla is a beautifully restored building from the 19th century. The apartments are well designed and professionally decorated in wonderful color combinations. Everything is very clean and comfortable, and works! And the owners are friendly and helpful.

Review 29:The hotel interior is wonderful. The rooms are big, clean and kitchenette well equipped. Very friendly staff. Wonderful location in a nice street. Unfortunately we didn't try the restaurant downstairs, which looks also really nice. We would have loved to stay longer

Review 30:There is no elevator so if stairs are a problem you should staysomewhere else.

Review 31:Great location. There are many amazing restaurants nearby and it is onlya few minutes walk to the beach where all the windsurfers and kitesurfers are playing. The bus station is about a 15 minute walk so keepthat in mind if you have lots of luggage.

Review 32:The only downside is they don't have an elevator, but it really wasn't a big deal for us.

Review 33:It was great! The room was very spacious, had a kitchenette and a small balcony. We wished we were staying longer because it was such a nice place. Would definitely recommend, especially since it was so cheap.

Review 34:A pity that bathroom had problems: water kept running after flushing).TV-set was very badly adjusted:image and sound.

Review 35:We were welcomed in a very friendly way. Hotel staff (english speeking)very helpful in explaining sightseeing, ... around town. We had bookedtwin beds but our appt had double bed, extra bed was installed in livingroom without extra charges.

Review 36:The bathroom in my room (#10) always smelled horrible, I'm assuming as a result of old/poor plumbing. Also all of the fixtures in the bathroom desperately needed replacing (No shower pressure, the toilet lever needed to be manually pushed up or it ran forever and the sink faucet wasn't secured to the countertop)

Review 37:Amazing location

Review 38:The hotel was exactly what we were looking for--someplace to rest our heads after visiting Gibraltar and before going to Tangier the following morning. We stayed in the A room, which is on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. We didnt care about this, as we did not have any luggage, but others might. Also note that, since the hotel is so close to the port, you will hear the ordinary noises of ships navigating the straight and leaving the port (as well as churchbells). It's not cacophonous, but it's noticeable. Finally, this is a small hotel, so the front desk is not open round the clock. Plan accordingly.

Review 39:La Casa Amarilla is a quaint little hotel in Tarifa located about a 5 minute walk away from the ferry port. We stayed there for one night only and picked it because we were looking for a cheap place to spend a brief night in Tarifa. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room ("A", on the fourth floor) was enormous and clean, with a comfortable bed. The restaurant downstairs is a cute Spanish restaurant with very good food (try the mussels, the tomato and mozzarella salad, and the pork). I wish I had been able to stay there longer.

Review 40:My husband find the beds to short and to hard for him. Casa Amarilla needs to be freshen up a bite. But overall it´s okay!

Review 41:We had a pleasant stay with our children at La Casa Amarilla. Our children did like our big room, the suite and very friendly and helpful staff. Casa Amarilla is perfect located in a nice area, close to the restaurants and bars without being to noisy. The Central Cafe cross the street is perfect for breakfast, afternoon tee or just a drink. Casa Amarilla is value for money if you travel with children.

Review 42:The location was perfect for our day trip to Tanger. Walking distance to the port in Tarifa. It was not your typical cookie cutter hotel room. The room was large with a kitchenette. Be prepared for stair climbing as there is no elevator. The area has plenty of dining options. All in all it was a bargin.

Review 43:Our little apartment was perfect for us. It was clean and beautiful andthe staff were very helpful, giving terrific recommendations for dinner. The ceiling in the loft was a little low but other than that it was theperfect place for us. We hope to visit again.

Review 44:The hotel was extremely noisy, doors slamming, loud neighbors, very thin walls. Also did not know the reception closed at 8:30pm each night and needed help with wifi connection.

Review 45:Beautiful property and location, the room itself was great, spacious and comfortable.

Review 46:It was a beautiful boutique hotel, in a great location, with acharmingly designed room and a friendly and very helpful staff. Westayed here overnight on route to Tangier.

Review 47:Rooms are spacious quirky and airy but steep stairs are unavoidable. Theplumbing is tired and unreliable - hot water was hard to get.

Review 48:Super location nice rooms but. . . See below. . .

Review 49:There was nothing I didn't like.

Review 50:Casa Amarilla was terrific. Rooms were nice, good size and had smallkitchens. We had two rooms, one with a sleeping loft. Nicely decoratedand nice Spanish architecture throughout. Staff was very helpful. Ashort walk from the Tangier/Tarifa ferry and right in the center of theold city. Close to everthing you want in Tarifa. Absolutey would staythere again.

Review 51:! No heat in bathroom. No hairdryer, kitchenette but no tea kettle. We arrived late dueti car trouble so staff had gone when we arrrived, but they were not there in the morning when we left either. Bugs in room

Review 52:Close to ferry

Review 53:Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. V well located in Tarifa old town

Review 54:bathroom was in disrepair- toilet ran constantly and shower head was broken

Review 55:great location, cute loft room

Review 56:No elevator

Review 57:The quaintness

Review 58:Friendly staff Good location

Review 59:All in all I would stay again .

Review 60:It was great, liked that it was pet friendly, so my daughter, myself andthe dog had a lovely time....thank you

Review 61:Had a nice feel like a bed and breakfast. Rooms were large with akitchenette. Great staff.
