Reviews for Alpenrose
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:Loved the old traditional feel of this hotel and the place felt friendly and welcoming. Excellent location and breakfast. Dinner in restaurant was the best with live music. Highly recommend staying here you won't be disappointed
Review 3:Wi-Fi access is very poor, non-existent in rooms. Had to sit on stairs near office to get varying strength Wi-Fi connection.
Review 4:Pretty, traditional hotel in main tourist area. Rooms are small but adequate. Breakfast good, dinner excellent. Off street car parking available behind hotel.
Review 5:Beautiful old house on the Main Street of Mittenwald. The restaurant serves delicious food and breakfast was great! The staff were all lovely and the view from our room was break taking. 10 out of 10!
Review 6:One room was quite small at the same price as a regular room.
Review 7:We were quite impressed with the staff at the Alpenrose. Established hotel in the center of town, a cultural experience. Very authentic German food. The staff were extremely helpful and personable. Breakfast was delicious and they offered to make us sandwiches for the journey south.
Review 8:The room was nothing like advertised it had no ac and temperature was 36` room smelled of food from kitchen below and bells from church kept us awake all night worst hotel ever
Review 9:Parking
Review 10:Not only the location was great, Mendi, a staff member welcomed us immediately and made us feel a part of the family by answering all our questions of neighboring attractions.
Review 11:That we could not stay longer.
Review 12:We stayed in the hotel Alpine Rose in Mittenwald for a couple of nights on our way to Innsbruck .The hotel was lovely and the staff made us very welcome . The rooms and the restaurant were tastefully designed and the restaurant had a large menu to chose from . The food was lovely .Would recomend the hotel to anyone who is going to spend some time in Mittenwald .
Review 13:Internet was spotty and didn't work great in the room.
Review 14:We traveled with a dog and they were as dog friendly as could be. Location was fabulous. View of the mountains was excellent for being a hotel in the heart of town. I can only guess that not all of the rooms faced the mountains. Breakfast was more than expected...daily breads, yogurts, cheese, meat, fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs, coffee/tea, and more.
Review 15:Usually no one was at the front desk and this makes it hard to get information.
Review 16:Excellent location, beautiful building, restaurant, breakfast, lovely authentic appeal in rooms and throughout.
Review 17:The staff at the Alpenrose was courteous, helpful and lots of fun. The room and bath was comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet was delicious and varied...best liverwurst ever. Restaurant on premises. Parking was on the hotel property. The historic building was beautiful and exuded the spirit of Bavaria. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Review 18:The room was a bit small. However not a big problem during these 3 days with excellent hiking weather.
Review 19:The Alpenrose Team (Staff) did a great job in making our stay pleasant. Very supportive and informative. English speaking guests will have no problems or misunderstandings. We felt like one of their most important guests. Breakfast buffet was great with good selections. We travel alot and do have references to compare with. Wonderful atmosphere in the dining room even when it was crowded. For some odd reason it was always busy with lots of happy dinner guests. Parking available at no cost in the small hotel garage or back yard. Free Wifi! Great location. We would happily recommend this hotel.
Review 20:Room was very small, has to climb two flights of stairs (help was provided for bags), dinner food was mediocre, TV options limited, street noise late into night.
Review 21:Staff especially front desk and breakfast. Good location as a base for day trips.
Review 22:It would have been helpful to have been provided with a map that took account of the very complicated road layout. It took us ages to get from the outskirts of the town to the hotel. It was worth it eventually.
Review 23:Wonderful town full of character with amazing mountain views. We would have loved to have gone up in the cable cars but the weather was too wet and windy. The hotel was friendly and the food was excellent.
Review 24:No hot option for breakfast but plenty of fresh fruit cold plate and everything else
Review 25:Very helpful staff right in center of town old world charm near railway station in close proximinity to walking trails and kervendahl bahn
Review 26:Dirty room, there was still pubichair on the bathroom floor. Dirty carpet on the floor. The room was way to small, we couldn't open up our suitcase, we had to lay it on the bed to be able to opened it up. There was some very noisy restaurant guest right outside our window. I called reception twice but nothing happened.
Review 27:The hotel was located in the middle of the town. Great.
Review 28:Authentic atomosphere, excellant food, friendly staff, liked the view of the mountains from our balcony on the backside of your establishment very much!
Review 29:Nothing bad here.
Review 30:The location was fantastic, and the staff could not have been more friendly. The restaurant was comfortable and the food great.
Review 31:Rooms need refurbishment
Review 32:Location
Review 33:incredibly clean older hotel in the middle of mittenwald, germany. hotel staff friendly and helpful. good value and had an incredible restaurant
Review 34:Church bells at 6AM
Review 35:staff were very friendly and helpful, restaurant was great, and rooms were comfortable and quaint
Review 36:The wifi not working at all
Review 37:Hot rooms in the summer. No air conditioning and rooms are small.
Review 38:Quaint hotel in darling town. Adequate facility. Outdoor music is charming.
Review 39:nothing to report
Review 40:Excellent location on the Main Street in Mittenwald Good dinner in restaurant
Review 41:All the details that made us feel like we really were guests.
Review 42:I will come again.
Review 43:all was good.
Review 44:Great Location; helpful Staff; clean and comfortable room
Review 45:No kettle in the room, wi-fi worked only in the toilet in our room, a lot of dust
Review 46:Location is great, nice restaurant, atmosphere.
Review 47:I didn't like the dogs of the owner who were in the breakfast room touching the plates and the food with their noses and all the rest.
Review 48:Location and staff were great.
Review 49:Small refrigerator in the room was hard to keep our beer and wine in - that's all!
Review 50:Loved our fairytale stay in Mittenwald at the Alpenrose. The bonus card we got at check-in gave us discounts on the karweld cable car, the kranz chairlift, and bike rentals. Wonderful location right along the Markt and an easy stroll to all the shops, restaurants, train station, and post office.
Review 51:The information packet was very extensive, but was all in German. We live in Vienna, so it was okay for us, but I can imagine information in English would be helpful for many travelers.
Review 52:The location is great, and the restaurant is excellent, with local folk music most nights. Great staff, very accommodating, with several speaking excellent English. The room was very traditionally furnished, and very comfortable. Mittenwald is a great strolling town, and for more serious hiking the Karwendel is a great area. The violin making museum was wonderful, and there are many instrument makers practicing their craft throughout the town. There were many nice shops to choose from, and we ended up with several purchases.
Review 53:Very cute hotel located in the middle of town. Amazing view of the mountains from some rooms. Must try the hotel restaurant at night. Live music and a great atmosphere!
Review 54:All was ideal
Review 55:Breakfast is wonderful, it was the best in two weeks journey through three countries. Employers are very hospitable, they saw we had been very tired and time was late and helped us with parking and baggage. And the bed was soft and gentle, it is the dream of Princess on the pea
Review 56:Two of the three rooms we had were a little shabby and definitely in need of refurbishment - although all were clean and comfortable.
Review 57:The old fashioned feeling of the hotel, its lobby, dining area, breakfast, exterior and location
Review 58:Nothing!
Review 59:Great staff, great location, great breakfast, great parking right behind the hotel. Can't say enough, wonderful property. The staff made the difference. They all spoke very good English. Great value for the location in a wonderful village.
Review 60:Great location in the center of town. Free garage parking. Clean, quiet, comfy room. The restaurant is excellent for breakfast and dinner. Impossible to beat for the price.
Review 61:Unfortunately the dinning room was being decorated between seasons so we couldn't eat at the Alpenrose. I'd read it was an experience to dine here.
Review 62:The tradition of the hotel and the location in the village.
Review 63:It was quite noisy the first evening we were there as we could hear people talking and laughing downstairs. Perhaps ventilation system needs to be reviewed because the room and corridor smells of food most of the time
Review 64:The staff were friendly and really helpful. I liked the dinner with traditional live music every evening. Location is excellent, just a short walking distance from the train station. Breakfast room was pretty
Review 65:Since there is a restaurant below it is very noisy and makes it difficult to sleep. The room was very hot. The internet connection only worked downstairs by the door and was unreliable.
Review 66:The staff was very nice.
Review 67:Inconsiderate delivery drivers who parked immediately under our balconyon both mornings we were guests at 5.30 (2nd morning) and 6.15 (firstmorning) to deliver goods to the hotel. Appreciate these deliveries haveto happen, yet should not be permitted before 8.00am. Should we comeback to Alpenrose, it would only be in a room located elsewhere than theback of the hotel
Review 68:The friendliest staff we found in Germany were at the Alpenrose. Nothingwas too much trouble and they were very responsive
Review 69:No dislikes.
Review 70:We loved walking around the town, the local music at our hotel in the evening, and the balcony in our room that looks out at the mountains.
Review 71:The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were very flimsy. Although thehallway lit up as you walked down it the whole hotel was quite dark anda little strange. While the staff was cleaning the rooms there were lotsof open closets that made the place look quite messy. Also there was alot of things left in the hallway like cleaning supplies that althoughyou know are necessary you really don't like looking at them.
Review 72:Loved that it was in the center of Mittenwald. The staff was veryhelpful. Liked the fact that the building was so historic. They had anice breakfast.
Review 73:This cozy hotel is in a great location in the heart of Mittenwald. The staff is accommodating, especially Valentine. The restaurant was reasonable and the food was well prepared and tasty. We had a room with a great view of the mountains.
Review 74:bathroom could be a bit more modern, though it was adequate.
Review 75:this is a family-run business and you can feel at every turn it is run with heart and soul. Very welcoming and dedicated staff, who go out of their way to help guests, e.g. on Easter Sunday we found an chocolate bunny on our room and were offered a packed lunch for the journey home, very nice breakfast with lots to choose from, slept like logs in the comfy bed - the music and laughter from the restaurant could not be heard at all in the room. We also enjoyed the small sauna and a magical ride in one of the horse drawn carriages belonging to the hotel.
Review 76:Parking is offered free of charge but can be difficult if the hotel if full.
Review 77:The building itself is very beautiful and well maintained. The service was friendly and efficient. The location is right in the old center of town.
Review 78:Some of the bathrooms, while very clean are out-dated and small.
Review 79:The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to help us coordinate travel and deal with weather restrictions. There is parking on-site which is great as it is in a small town where parking can be problematic. The room was cozy and very clean. The price for the location was unbeatable. I highly reccomend this hotel.
Review 80:Everything was excellent!!! The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was very good. Location was good too - right in the middle of Mittenwald, and also close to the railway station. An extra plus was the little sauna in the corridor, that you could use for free whenever you wanted!
Review 81:The hotel is not visible along the road as the road in front of the hotel is not accessible by car. There is no Wifi connection in the rooms.
Review 82:The breakfast was great.
Review 83:Our room was fine, however, the bed and pillows were Very hard. Thankfully I had my airplane pillow. For this reason (only) I would not stay here more than one or two nights.
Review 84:Beautiful, quiet Bavarian village. Great location.
Review 85:The room space is very narrow, and cleaning seems to be insufficient.
Review 86:Its location is extremely good. Staff are kind and polite. WE could comfortably stay here.
Review 87:Couldn't get the towel warming rack to work but they put in a work order.
Review 88:Loved the atmosphere. Friendly, helpful people, and GREAT desserts! Beautiful scenery. Wonderful street shopping.
Review 89:The lady at reception was the most helpful and so kind ever seen. Thelocation is perfect , closed to everything that you may need. The hotelhas free car park space at the back side of hotel. Breakfast was alsorich enough. The restaurant serves local meals and live music. I thinkthe hotel in overall is the most value for money.
Review 90:Our balcony had a great view, but was also above the kitchen, so we got the smells and sounds of the kitchen until after 10pm which was a little annoying. But overall we had a great time.
Review 91:Amazing location in a beautiful town. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good. Outstanding view of the mountains from our balcony.
Review 92:Beautifull original style room in great hotel in the very centre of Mittenwald. Room was well furnished with local style furniture and clean modern facilities. Loved the location right on the main street of the old town. Also had great food at the restaurant.
Review 93:The rooms were quite small and not very well furnished. The whole placecould have done with been updated. The staff was polite but when wesettled the bill nobody bother to ask if we had had a pleasant stay.Quite matter of fact.
Review 94:The position was good and it was clean.
Review 95:We have booked Alpenrose but due to a mistake, we were told that our booking were cancelled when arrived. As they were fully booked on that day, the lady immediately transfer us to another hotel. We appreciate her kind understanding and assistance. Even we didn't stay with them, we were very pleased with their arrangment. Hope that we could stay in this hotel next time.
Review 96:What a wonderful find! A beautiful, historic building located in the heart of the pedestrian zone of the old town. The staff were amazing - so friendly and helpful!! They really went out of their way to make us feel appreciated!! The atmosphere was very cozy and relaxing, and the restaurant quite good. The entire experience was exactly what we were looking for on our first trip to Bavaria. We hope to be able to stay there again some day!
Review 97:I love it and will stay there again.
Review 98:The location cannot be better. Direct in the middle of the foot zone inthe beautiful little rustic town between the mountains. In 15 minutescan you be in Garmisch-Partenkirchen or 15 minutes south can you be inSeefeld, Tirol. Absolutely beautiful, rustik and comfortable. The staffis very nice and accommodating and the price is very low for the value. This is a very clean, comfortable and warm hotel, where the staff treatyou like family. Highly recommened if you wish to stay anywhere in thisarea and don´t wish the high prices of staying in Garmisch-P. The foodis great and very good value for the money as well.
