It is a tastefully converted flour mill, with the 11 bedrooms located around a typical Spanish courtyard. There is an indoor restaurant, bar and a beautiful outdoor dining area on the banks of the river. There is also a swimming pool, while all rooms are equipped with standard facilities including air conditioning.

Reviews for Molino Cuatro Paradas
Review 1:The bed was very hard but the room was lovely.
Review 2:Lovely spot if you like hill walking. Very helpful owner. Phillip recommended some lovely local walks and even lent us a GPS to help us find a tricky route. It was nice to have a kettle in the room.
Review 3:The wonderful location by the river and the atmosphere of the old mill building. Very helpful and attentive host, ready to help with advice on local trips and walks.
Review 4:We really couldn't find the place from the details provided. We passed the hotel sign on the road without seeing it - it was semi-obscured.
Review 5:Beautiful characterful building and rooms, gorgeous setting and proximity to walks in national park. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 6:Seemed as though it was just opened up from winter. Dirty, uncared for. No information about services, times for meals, facilities... Drive way down to hotel was unpassible unless in a 4x4. Hotel sign behind tree. Rusty gates hanging off post.
Review 7:location was great & for walking the dogs. Could be a lovely place if cared for.
Review 8:Even though I knew from other reviews that establishment was too "rustic" for some folks, and even though I am not into "fancy" places, I was surprised by the lack of maintenance....Things seem to be slipping: the access driveway in is a mess (but thankfully not too long to do much damage), weeds abound, outdoor furniture all mismatched and starting to show wear, pool cover in tatters, large cardboard boxes for poolside awnings left on pool deck instead of being stored away, etc. I like wild looking gardens, but the gardens at this hotel were either nonexistent or completely ignored. None of this would matter if one were not expending $99E per night...rustic is fine....but neglected is not. My biggest complaint was the lack of WiFi in the room and the owners explanation that it was fixed and should be working....same story to every new guest (which I heard because I had to sit in the dimly lit small reception area to connect to the hotel reception WiFi.) The dim lighting another story about electricians doing work and blowing out all the lightbulbs). I loved this place ...but if they are going to remain competitive they have to bump it up a notch because all these little things add up to them slowly being unable to compete with other lovely lodging options in the area.
Review 9:Loved the location! Owner / chef Philip was very nice and helpful suggesting great hiking and car touring routes! Our upgraded terrace room right on river was wonderful. Cannot beat access to hiking trails: la pileta cave was amazing.
Review 10:Nothing.
Review 11:The location is gorgeous, close to Guadiaro river, sorrounded by the sounds of nature and a wonderful countryside. There is an excellent restaurant on the river terrace that offer interesting food in a cosy and charming atmosphere. Rooms are very comfortable and the English people who welcomed us really lovely.
Review 12:Advertised 'All year' pool, but not open!!
Review 13:Lovely place by the river with lovely walks. Staff couldn't be friendlier. Great food. We'll be back.
Review 14:the short driveway into the hotel could do with a new surface but its only 40 mts long
Review 15:the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff the hotel is set in a fantastic location rooms large and so clean good food served an night cooked by phil the owner great pool the honesty bar was a great touch thanks for a great stay we l book again for sure
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:The location (just next to a river in the mountains but still only 10mn by feet from the town), the beautiful swimming-pool, the lovely architecture of the building, the kindness of the staff especially of the owner Philip. The room was very clean and cosy.
Review 18:Unfortunately the bed in room nine creaked a lot which kept us awake
Review 19:The breakfast was very nice with plenty to choose from The fig and quince trees were amazing and full of fruit which was evident at breakfast in jam form (delicious). The river behind the hotel was very soothing to the ear and the lack of lights meant the starry sky was tremendous. Zena the dog was very friendly and sat with us outside.
Review 20:The pool is amazing, clean and not busy, a wonderful sun trap. You should stay a few days and at the very least walk up to 'La cueva de la Pileta' it's a wonderful walk with a fantastic cave to visit at the end of it. We stayed at the Hotel for 6 days and we did not have a car. This turned out to be a blessing as we explored both directions along the river. It was also easy to spend a day and evening in Ronda. Great place to stay.
Review 21:Great location along the river - very peaceful. Superb location for visiting Cueva del Gato and Ronda. We also hit Zahara and Setenil while in the area. Views are spectacular and hosts very accommodating. There is wifi, but it is not available in all areas as advertised - only in reception. Bed size was an actual queen and not 2 twins put together like the typical European hotels.
Review 22:Wall too thin with neighbors bathroom. We could hear everything!
Review 23:Excellent location, laid back atmosphere. Great for a break away from the busy coast. The staff were very friendly and we ate dinner on the terrace by the river which had a great atmosphere. We enjoyed the food and it was reasonably priced.
Review 24:Lovely place to stay, great location, We could only stay one night so we couldn't make the most of the beautiful surroundings. We did made the most of the lovely swimming pool! Lovely rooms, great breakfast, we ate outside on the terrace next to the river. The owners were very welcoming, and couldn't have been more helpful. Zena the friendly dog was an extra bonus! I've read comments about the bumpy drive, we managed it with no problems with 4 adults in a Fiat Panda! We will return in the Spring.
Review 25:Beautiful scenic location. Helpful genial owner. Swimming pool. Advice for walks.
Review 26:Friendly helpful and professional service with a personal touch
Review 27:poorly kept up - pratcially no signage on road that can be seen. Driveway in very poor shape
Review 28:Exceleent food and a great dinner
Review 29:Nice hotel with an easy going ambiance in a very nice location. Perfect for walking and hiking
Review 30:A fabulous setting, stunning area innumerable walks and you can take Zena the dog with you.
Review 31:Swimming pool is not properly maintained and barely used
Review 32:Beautiful surroundings and hiking options, clean hotel and extensive breakfast
Review 33:Beautiful location
Review 34:Free WiFi stopped working.
Review 35:pool needs some attention
Review 36:location, walking, great food at night, very relaxed, hosts very friendly, good value
Review 37:Cold unfriendly dining room. Dog in courtyard, barking and making a nuisance. No bar or seating area for meeting and socialising. The terraces could have been beautiful but very neglected.
Review 38:The location of this hotel was very good and the manager of the hotel advised on some very good walking routes.
Review 39:-The floor of the room was not so clean, some hair from previous guests. -A walk around the hotel showed some parts that would need attention and maitenance. - We were the only guests in March and had diner in the hotel, before serving the plates we heard a "peep dinner is ready microwave sound". That was a bit disappointing although the food was ok.
Review 40:Very nice situated along the river in an old watermill building. The owners are from the UK and very friendly and helpfull. A romantic place to stay at.
Review 41:It is poorly signed from the road and could do with a large sign on the gates... the drive/track to the hotel is pretty ramshackle leading to a misleadingly unwelcoming arrival... once you get there and feel the warmth of the staff, all is fine.
Review 42:The perfect place for walkers/hikers. Excellent support and advice regarding walks, routes, places to go etc from Philip (the owner)
Review 43:Excellent place to stay. As you walk out of the door, you have several options for mountain treks, a river to swim in at Summer time and a calm terrace to enjoy quiet moments. Highly recommended.
Review 44:The entrance was messy and not clean. The patio was not tidy. Entry road in poor condition.
Review 45:The countryside location. Small river running nearby. The breakfast and dinner. The suggestions and info we received for scenic drives in the area.
Review 46:The hotel was very nice overlooking the river. The sound of the water running down was relaxing and enjoyable. The set up was excellent, we wish we had stayed longer.
Review 47:The short access road is in a very poor state , the surface and potholes could be repaired with little difficulty and at minimal cost.
Review 48:informal and well located with many footpaths and trails close by . Interesting building with 200 years of history.
Review 49:The outdoor furniture and garden environment is not in good shape. The sleeping bed was very hard and there was a lot of cobweb in the ceiling corners. There is no view to the mountains or to the valley from the terrace by the building and the rooms. There is no light showing the hotel from the main road. It is very hard to find when it is dark.
Review 50:The hotel has a very nice and friendly staff. The place is very quiet and a good starting place for mountain hiking. The building (an old mill) is very romantic and nice decorated.
Review 51:Approach driveway and the property in general is a little neglected. Room prices a little high compared to classier places.
Review 52:Location by the river. Good food. Friendly owner and staff.
Review 53:That I only had two days available to stay there.
Review 54:The owner and staff were very polite, attentive and professional. The hotel was in a wonderful location, our room looked out over the river. The swimming pool was very clean and refreshing. The food was delicious and the Cueva de Gato a delightful walk. Great location. Great hotel.
Review 55:Trains very close ( just across the river) but not a problem if you have a room away from the riverl
Review 56:we were upgraded to a room overlooking the river and had access to a terrace. Very comfortable, clean, and great birdlife from the window.
Review 57:1. The mattress too hard with no give. Like sleeping on a table. 2. The dinner menu was a bit deep freezer oriented when less people are staying.
Review 58:1. Friendly owner and staff. Nothing too much trouble and lots of tips on the locality. 2. Great pool, good views and chilling out area. 3. Lovely location. Our room had balcony over looking the river. 4. Peaceful overall.
Review 59:They could do with a few new sun loungers by the pool
Review 60:The pool is lovely and has a great view. The riverside view from our room and also from the restaurant and bar was very picturesque
Review 61:Need a larger sign on side of road to make finding it first time easier no problem second time around with locals help.
Review 62:Lovely situation, very laid back with easy access for walking, hiking, or any countryside pastime. Easy access to Ronda by train and to main roads for exploring by car.
Review 63:Restaurant has limited choice for vegetarians, wireless was limited to lobby
Review 64:Straightforward place, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful location, good starting point for walks, good breakfast buffet
Review 65:fantastic location in a very quiet place, friendly and professional staff opened and flexible, nice swimming pool with fantastic view, already recommended to friends!
Review 66:would have like the bar to be open a bit more for afternoon snacks.
Review 67:The staff where very friendly and polite, room was very clean and well presented. loved the location.
Review 68:Room was not sound proofed at all, small room with no heating which is important if it's not a summer time. Not that cosy as you would expect from Spanish country home.
Review 69:Great location in the countryside close to Ronda and not too far from Seville, Jerez. Nice dinner and breakfast. There are other similar hotels around. Staff is from UK.
Review 70:WiFi quite slow.
Review 71:Close to Ronda but beautifully positioned at the river. You may call itromantic. Friendly owners and staff. Nice choice for breakfast. Dinnerexcellent.
Review 72:Beds a little soft and sqeak alot.
Review 73:Great location and base to explore area eg pueblo blancos and Ronda. Friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent facillities and decor. Serene surroundings with river running past.
Review 74:Some guests might not like the fact that there is no roof when one goes out from the room: this means that if it is raining a lot, which can sometimes happen in the off-season, one has to take an umbrella to get to the breakfast room. This is, however, an extremely small problem (which cannot be solved due to the original construction of the mill) and the hotel is really perfect.
Review 75:The hotel is perfectly located in a (for Andalusian standards, of course) lush valley: the hotels terrace is basically situated on the bank of the river (great views on the rocks on the other side) while the hotel itself is surrounded by several trees and bushes. As the main road not only passes some distance from the hotel, it also goes several meters above the hotel, you will hardly hear any noise coming from the traffic on the road. Note, that there is a railway line on the other side of the river but there are just few trains per day (including those with cargo) and the rooms usually don't have windows directed toward the railway line. Altogether, indeed a very quiet and spectacular location. The rooms in this old mill are very tastefully furnished and the breakfast is excellent. Also the evening meals are good: they are an interesting combination of Spanish dishes with some British influence. By the way, the owner's English may be better than of his guests (it is his native tongue), so finally no problems with communication in Spain.
Review 76:What's not to like? If we had not already booked our next few nights down on the coast we would have definitely asked to stay for longer.
Review 77:Very relaxing. Really nicely converted watermill in a quiet, scenic location, but handy for Ronda. Great to breakfast on the terrace whilst small birds flit around the vegetation by the river and eagles patrol the crags above. Looks to be a good walking area.
Review 78:Meals - average No lunches available at the hotel Swiming pool away from the hotel building and rather public WiFi was not available throughout the hotel as advertised
Review 79:Quiet, relaxed. Excellent suite / apartment within the small complex Great for daily walks Friendly helpful staff Ventas / cafes within walking distance Great scenery Possible to travel by train to nearby Estacion Benaojan. Hotel staff willing to collect you from the station (too far to walk with luggage)
Review 80:the appearance of broken garden furniture on the terraces through lack of maintenance making it look very untidy and tired a handyman is urgently needed
Review 81:The perfect setting for a relaxing stay very friendly staff who made you very welcome
Review 82:Bar and dinner prices are on the high side, would not like to havedinner on more than a couple of nights, limited unchanging menu.
Review 83:Excellent location, super views. Great destination for a quiet andrelaxing break. Enjoyed having breakfast and dinner on the terraceoverlooking river. Watched the bats swooping around at dusk. Good venueto tour the area.
Review 84:This lovely quiet, infomal little hotel is a sensitively converted millsituated right by the Rio Guadiaro. Rooms are clean, well furnished andcool with their own facilities. To have a leisurely breakfast on theterrace, hearing the hush of the river over rocks and watching andlistening to a variety of birds (which from Spring through summer willinclude golden orioles) is a perfect delight. Look across the river andabove the trees the cliffs tower above. After breakfast maybe follow the9k track down the river valley to Jimera. It's a most beautiful walk andafter an iced coffee, tinto verrano or something to eat at the Quercusrestaurant, take the 1.03 train back to Benaojan. The afternoon mightfind you taking a drive to Ronda or a beautiful village, like Grazalemaor Villaluenga. The scenery and wildlife (especially birds) is superband being higher up means that it is fresher than by the coast and thedry heat is pleasant. You can extend the trip into the evening or returnto the hotel in time for a swim in the pool as you watch the sun sinktowards the cliffs before having your evening meal on the terrace - orinside if you prefer. On other days Philip can give you a guide to oneof the very many all day or half day walks that start from the hotel ornearby - or you might drive further afield. This is a perfect hotel forpeople who like a relaxed, informal and friendly atmosphere in awonderful setting by a river which flows all year. Walking and birdingis excellent. Or just swim, sit on the terrace and read. My second timethere and I would love to return.
Review 85:The hotel is a converted mill set in the most beautiful Andalusiancountryside, with stunning views from the rooms, the terrace and, particularly, the excellent swimming pool area. The conversion hasbeen very sympathetically done. The hotel is ideal for walkers; theowner, Philip, is a keen walker and has a large number of walks forall levels in a loose leaf folder for guests to borrow. A great placefor nature lovers, but with easy access to Ronda, Sevilla and otherplaces of interest.
Review 86:Although we only stayed at this hotel for one night on our tour through Spain, we found it had a charming and friendly atmosphere and very much enjoyed our al fresco evening meal on the terrace overlooking the river, with a varied choice of menu. We had a beautiful room with every comfort and cleanliness. Would definitely recommend a stay here with the friendly owner Phillip and staff.
Review 87:Absolutely no complaints.
Review 88:The location beside a small river was beautiful. The host was extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The entire facility had good amenities and charm. We were very glad to have chosen this location rather than joining the rat race in Ronda, which seemed more like a cruise ship port than an Andulucian village.
Review 89:Unfortunately the grounds and outside equipment were in need of attention, also the food was basic and just average, but saying that we ate there both nights as we were too lazy to go elsewhere.
Review 90:Owner Phillip has a valuable knowledge of the area for walks and suggested an amazing one for us that made our short trip. So a big thank you to him. Great rooms and location right by river so good for a 2 star.
Review 91:We went for a relaxing weekend and we found just that. The place is gorgeously made up, very rustic and above all very clean, which is one of my priorities when going to any hotel. We never got the chance to meet the owner but Isa made us more than welcome. She is the busiest woman i have met and very friendly. I commented to her that if we ever win the Euro million we would deffo buy it off Philip. Hope to see you sometime in the future. All the best from Andy and Valerie.
