Review 1：Modern, clean, excellent breakfast plenty of choice, with self cook griddle for eggs and bacon. Great helpful and friendly staff. Booked to go back in 2 weeks

Review 2：Difficult to find initially, cannot see the front of the hotel from the main road and my GPS took us close, but not in sight. Bed was fine, other than the undersheets made me sweat. Poor lighting - impossible to change we were told. Would have been useful to know that our room was in a separate building, though I think most must be now I see the size of the main hotel. Irritations rather than something that would stop us returning, but the poor lights, in particular need addressing by the management.

Review 3：Friendly and multi-lingual staff a boon. Restaurant serves evening meals from 7pm - wonderful. Everything was excellent and as expected, except for those items in the didn't likes. We hope to return.

Review 4：While cooking your own breakfast is a popular novelty with leisure travellers at Barcarola, for those with time commitments, it can mean having to queue during busy periods and this can make breakfast a bit stressful. Also, the hotel would not provide my family who had to leave early due to travel arrangements, with breakfast of any kind despite a request the day before. This was disappointing, as I have always found Barcarola Hotel staff extremely helpful. Could Barcarola consider offering those who need to depart early with a continental breakfast box or equivalent, if notified the day before?

Review 5：Rooms are spacious with good bathrooms and although there is no sea view, the hotel is close to the lovely San Pol beach

Review 6：Small pool area(only 4 sun loungers) and too busy and noisy when children around. Unhelpful barman serving at outside bar.(rest of staff were great) Breakfast cooking own eggs/ bacon on hot plate got too busy and hot!(better if a chef was cooking to order) Room was a bit dated and worn but a good size.

Review 14：WiFi patchy in the annex. The hotel is aimed at Spanish, Catalan Dutch and French clientèle as reflected in the TV channels on offer. There are no English language channels such as BBC World or CNN. The hotel management could and should rectify this.

I you are looking for an excellent spot to stay and visit in Bilbao I would not hesitate to recommend this place. It is ideally located...close to old town, Guggenheim, train station and river. Review 19：The hotel was first class, the meals were excellent. Lovely to sit round the pool and there is plenty of seating there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hotel is just 100 yards from the beach, where there are nice restaurants and bars. The town of Sant Felíu de Guixols is just 10 minutes away by road, with nice shops and bars.

Review 21：The hotel was two minute walk from the lovely beach. Our room was on the ground floor and included a large furnished courtyard. A small fridge was available for our use. The beds were comfortable and aircon worked well. TV in many languages was very welcome. Close to many restaurants and a pleasant 15 minute stroll to the main town. Closer to the hotel the charming town of Sant Agaro can provide everything you might need. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of fresh fruit and cook your own eggs. All the staff were wonderful.Car parking was next to the hotel, very convenient.

Review 22：The pool area had no sun beds only sofa type chairs which was no good for sunbathing or relaxing. The dining area was right next to the pool, and the pool area was small so there was hardly any room to move about around the pool. It seemed like they wanted to discourage people from sunbathing. Out of 6 days stay we only sat round the pool for half an hour in all the time we were there ! What a shame. Good job the beach was nice & close by.

The food in the tapas area of the hotel was also poor. Rooms often not cleaned until 3PM.

Review 42：Wifi not working in the building where the rooms are - had to go across the road to reception to use it. Room on the end of the building closest to major building work going on down the road. Painting being done in the building where the rooms are so the corridors smelt. The menu on their website shows 4 vegetarian dishes - the main reason we chose this hotel as most restaurants are closed out of season. When we arrived we found the menu was completely different with no vegetarian dishes - very disappointing.
