Reviews for Chalet Hotel Senger
Review 1:We loved Chalet Senger and would love to return one day. It's in a beautiful location, great people, especially Andreas and Rosemarie, but in the restaurant as well. And staying here, close to the nearby National Park, provides lots of good value benefits. Just a brilliant stay.
Review 2:Wonderful chalet style hotel dripping with "gemutlicheit". The food was outstanding. The staff were attentive and spoke great English while tolerating our German.
Review 3:Traditional Austrian style, warm and helpful hosts, walking direct from hotel and lots of it! Scenery outstanding. Cosy log fire lit when autumn evening chill begins!
Review 4:Everything about the hotel seems to have been carefully thought out to make it like a comfortable home from home, without unnecessary opulence or ostentation. The owners are welcoming, friendly and genuinely interested in their guests without ever being intrusive. All perfectly judged.
Review 5:Fantastic property in a wonderful location if you want to stay in the Grossglockner area. Heiligenblut is a very charming town. The hiking trails also provide wonderful vistas. Great staff, always willing to help. Would return and stay again.
Review 6:Pillows were not to our liking but in fairness we did not make this known to our hosts.
Review 7:Quiet and beautiful location set in the mountains. Great hospitality from the owners and staff. Free passes to the gondola and mountain pass were greatly appreciated.
Review 8:Friendly staff who were very accommodating. If driving via Grossglockner High Alpine Road arrive at the toll station no later than 20:00, as the road is closed at 21:45 because it is dangerous to drive after dark. The chalet is close to the ski lifts. The Karnten Pass offers many freebies and is available without cost at Reception.
Review 9:The bed was a bit too firm and pillows were too soft.
Review 10:Great location and view and wonderful staff. They provide a special card for free access to the cable cars and discount on the mountain toll road.
Review 11:bed matras was not that good.
Review 12:the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are big with nice terras. Food is fabulous for price. Location is fantastic
Review 13:Very minor thing, only one pillow per person, would be nice to have extras available in the room.
Review 14:Beautiful hotel, charming, smiley young lady in der lederhosen 'setting a trend'. Staff very attentive, fantastic views from beautiful balconies, nice lounge with games. Great location to drive the Grossglockner, hotel is before the toll. Would like to be there when the chef was available, we had a fondue evening which was fun but maybe a little overpriced when doing the cooking yourself. Wednesday is the chef's night off. All round a lovely quirky hotel which I wouldn't hesitate to rebook.
Review 15:Wifi is a bit weak, not just at this hote, I guess the whole of this area. Which is no surprise. Free wifi thought.
Review 16:Very friendly and helpful owner and knows the area very well. I needed the local information so that I don't have to waste time looking for it. He had provided all the necessary information for me to get around. Did I mention it is well worth the money to stay at this hotel? I'm one happy customer.

Review 30:Everything. The staff were cordial and helpful. The room was large and delightful, like in an Alpine fairy tale. The food in the restaurant was excellent, but best of all was the view of the mountain from the balcony of our room!

Review 53:Senger Haus is a lovely timber building located on a mountainside. The view towards the valley is just superb. Everything about this place feels relaxing. The sauna departement in the cellar, the nice and cheerful staff, the beer & extraordinary food (the Tafelspitz Place is divine) and the overall feeling is great here. Hotel Senger rules!
Review 54:I can't think of anything negative to say!
Review 55:Friendly staff, great views, great food, lovely room. A very relaxing stay - wish it could have been longer.
Review 56:The only two small things to mention: Wi-Fi access is limited (if that is important to you); and we found the beds to be pretty hard (but your mileage may vary). Overall, an outstanding place to stay.
Review 57:Hotel is in a beautiful location, sitting up above the village of Heiligenblut. We had a picture-postcard scene from our balcony. The hosts were very warm and friendly; very welcoming. There is a restaurant at Hotel Senger and I wish we had eaten there. Instead, we went back into town for dinner, and it was nothing special. The breakfast buffet was very good with an excellent selection. Everything at Hotel Senger was very neat and clean. Would definitely stay here again if we return to the area (which I hope we do someday).
Review 58:Wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 59:This hotel is a jewel! The attention to detail is amazing. The rooms arecomfortable; the view is unbelievable. We rode the gondola from the townup the mountain; the views from there are incredible. When we returned,we discovered my wife's purse had remained in the restaurant at thetop. Our hostess, Rosemarie Senger, made a couple of calls, and in lessthan an hour my purse was back in her hands. Breakfast was varied andvery good. Dinners were also available and fabulous - a sampling ofregional cuisine. The church in the town is well known and the object ofmany pictures and paintings, as Grossglockner is in the background. Wecan't wait to return for another visit.
Review 60:Very uncomfortable beds. Dark room with poor lighting.
Review 61:Very friendly host fluent in English. Great convenient location for the Grossglocknerstrasse. Quiet.
Review 62:- Romantic old style design - Very nice owners - Fondue evening was a great experience, very nice composition of a meal! - Our kids felt like at home and were playing themselves in a small garden
Review 63:Very hot in room with no air con or fan during a heat wave
Review 64:Gorgeous scenery and this chalet is very charming. Staff were outstanding in their friendliness and helpfulness
Review 65:That I had to leave.
Review 66:Austrian hospitality is unparalleled, yet in a highly competitive field, this family-owned and operated hotel certainly stands out for itsfriendliness, warmth, and genuine willingness to listen and to serve. Iwould recommend without hesitation,
Review 67:Unique style of the Hotel (great style, interior and exterior design), great food in the restaurant, very friendly, family style and helpful hosts who are REALLY paying attention to make sure the guests spend a great time in the area with a life time experience (giving tips & tricks, recommendation what to visit tailored to the guest's interests). Highly recommended!
