Reviews for Club Hotel Marazul

Review 1:Staff rude and not helpful Al notice boards in French No entertainment Shop only opened at 530 pm for a couple of hours and hardy had any stock in at all Staff unapproachable

Review 2:nothinh

Review 3:There was not much going on there and place itself doesn't have anything Tenerife typical. Pool is open only until 18h and can't be used afterwards. There is no proper beach in close proximity.

Review 4:Apartment was really big, with great balcony, nice bathrooms (yes there were two), good kitchen. Most of the apartments have a sea view. Great pool, and one more just nearby the hotel. There are some great beaches in the area.

Review 5:Only seawater pool for children, pretty much unusable in december, yet should be fine during warmer months.

Review 6:Calm and quiet, away from all the tourist rush. Clean, modern, easy parking, fully equipped kitchen, wifi free and working well in the room. Staff responsive and helpful. No unexpected surprises whatsoever. You need a car though to get around, as everything is at (quick) driving distance.

Review 7:Studio was miniature, room smelled like cooking, renovation needed soon, bed uncomfortable.

Review 8:Location was pretty good, buffet breakfast better than average, views from the balcony overlooking hills were spectacular, it's pretty good value for the money.

Review 9:The hallways were windy and out of date, in a total disonance with the rooms. The lobby was really dark and looked completely deserted. The pool was smaller for the capacity of the hotel.

Review 10:The rooms were big and very well furnished. The kitchen well equipped. The bathrooms spacious and very clean. We liked the gardens.

Review 13:If only it also had aircon, then I would have given it an even higher rating.

Review 14:The apartment is huge for the two of us, and very modern. Well-furnished and clean. 2 bathrooms. Just outside the hotel there is a bus stop. We left the balcony doors open at night, for some cool air to come in, and no mosquitos!

Review 15:nothing in particular

Review 16:The reception , entertainers, room lay out, facilities at the premises. And on top location of this hotel in the south part of island with sunnier sky than the rest of the island.

Review 17:Not sure about the location without a car: we travelled by own hire car to tour the island

Review 18:Facilities excellent Safe and secure Parking Travelling with kids perfect place

Review 19:This hotel accommodates a lot of French people, with French as the main spoken language. It didn't bother me, but it may be a problem for others. You need a car here, as the location is a little isolated.

Review 20:Apartments are comfortable, modern and clean, with a spacious and private balcony. We asked for another apartment, as the initial one was located on the road-side and a little dark. We were given an excellent alternative. Staff are all very helpfull. The pools are both nice and clean. The seawater pool is in a very nice location overlooking the sea. It comes with a good restaurant open for lunch.

Review 21:The only slightly negative thing to report was that the unit was on the first floor, so its view of the ocean was partly blocked by palm trees, but we still ate breakfast every day out on the terrace that was part of the unit, with a palm-tree-and-ocean view. When we asked if there was a unit on a higher floor, they said that these first-floor units were what was available on Booking.com (the other units are owned by time-share renters from France, primarily, I would assume). Definitely not a deal-breaker for us, but worth mentioning.

Review 22:The Marazul is a multi-story structure containing vacation time-share units. It is run by the Maeva group whose primary target are French vacationers looking for a little corner of France in various destinations all over the world. Since most of the staff spoke either English or Spanish as well as French, this French-centric orientation was not an issue for us. Actually, we enjoyed being able to buy a freshly-baked baguette in the boulangerie in the hall each morning during our stay since we ate a leisurely breakfast in our room from ingredients we bought at the Mercadora market near by. The room was very spacious, and had two bathrooms, a master bedroom, kitchen and living room, where our 17-year-old daughter slept on the hide-a-bed that popped out from under the sofa. The kitchen had a sliding door system to turn the living room into a bedroom at night. We enjoyed several poolside lunches at the "Flipper" restaurant near the sea-water pool at the lower-end of the property where the menu changed daily and the staff was very friendly. We also used the upper fresh-water pool, which was nice. The WIFI was exceptional, both in signal strength and speed of connection, which was great, and the room had plenty of plugs for charging devices. The free parking was always available and much appreciated. All in all we would return to this property on a future Tenerife vacation. It provided incredible value for money for our family of three.

Review 23:The reception whilst polite never put themselves out to tell us anything we might like to know, like the welcome party for newcomers, which we missed. The receptionist actually ridiculed us for wanting to go to a market, said it didn t sell clothes, when it did, saying: "If I want clothes I go to a clothes shop" For the record I went and bought two very fashionable garments, one in linen, for E25. So they are not helping us.

Review 24:peace and quiet, lovely pool, no interference or noise. Everyone behaved beautifully. sunshine all the time

Review 25:No heating of any kind. A few degrees colder and we'd have been worried. Desk staff need some customer service training.

Review 26:Beautifully equipped apartment. We cooked and served a full dinner for 5 on the second night and had everything we needed to do this. Flipper pool restaurant really good at lunchtime with a range of daily specials. Really comfortable bed.

Review 27:The beds. Comfortable for sleeping but impossible for any other activities - just a slight (!!!) move and both beds began slipping so that you had a gap of 10 inches between them.

Review 28:The apartment was very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant on site was great. The staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 29:Remote location you really needed a car. Limited space and loungers round the pool Some public areas ie lobby hallways round bottom pool area needed updating. You felt you had been transported to France as everyone was French cliental staff etc. One woman running the bar was very rude. Limited eating options though we did enjoy the restaurant Some bizarre instructions about leaving the room clean and tidy taking out the rubbish. I asked the check out staff if we should have washed our towels etc as the staff seemed to keep giving us washing tablets and there was a very direct notice about being fined if the room wasn't up to scratch. Bizarre!! I don't want to be cleaning on my holiday! That's what I'm paying them for!!

Review 30:Great spacious modern apartment. Good to have some English tv channels. We enjoyed eating in the restaurant Great price

Review 31:NO AIR CONDITIONING , we were given a room on the dark side of the hotel and had to pay 15 euros per night to upgrade to a view and sun,, directions are awful, the hotel does not even have a sign on the building, mini market is very poorly stocked, isolated location

Review 32:the hotel has a "bottom pool" that we were not informed about that is brilliant and has a fantastic choice of food, great top pool with life guard, 3 fast lifts, rooms have just been refurbished, lots of channels on the tv,

Review 33:You can feel a little isolated if you don't speak French.

Review 34:Climate superb. Atmosphere - very relaxed. Absolutely no stuffiness, but the largely French population keeps standards of behaviour high (there's also a 1st class boulangerie). The pools are excellent, and Flipper is the ideal poolside café/restaurant. It's a long way to the shops, but Mercadona runs an excellent on-line delivery service which can be operated from the UK. We've been coming to marazul for nearly 20 years.

Review 35:Location, Tenerife, Hotel staff on reception were appaling. Entertainment appaling and all in French, communal hotel areas in serious need of modernisation as I thought I was in a Spanish version of life on Mars. Decor and carpets must be from 1970...... All in all I would rather stay at home and sit in the garden than attempt to entertain 3 young children in this hotel and on this island.

Review 36:The accommodation is modern but without air conditioning does not suit the climate.

Review 37:Ground floor amenity areas lack any soul or atmosphere

Review 38:Excellent ,well equipped apartments

Review 39:Location very secluded, no air conditioning, very loud at noisy

Review 40:There should be a choice of mattresses.

Review 41:Spacious, friendly atmosphere, generally quiet. Staff are like old friends.

Review 42:nice staff, quit place with a beautiful view and territory, water in swimming pool was warm and clear, free parking

Review 43:Everything plus great bakery on site- pre order your croissants, pain au chocolats and fresh bread in advance!

Review 44:My room was on the North side and therefore no Sun

Review 45:Great location for Sun and away from the rabble

Review 46:No wifi in rooms. One has to go to the lobby.

Review 47:Excellent French restaurant in the lobby. New fresh furniture. Good ceiling height. Pleasant design.

Review 48:No hot tube (jacuzzi). Limited opening hours of swimming pools. Too much French environment.

Review 49:Quietness, cleanliness, v.good value of money.

Review 50:location is bit far from town shopping

Review 51:liked everything , place, restaurant , facilities , swimming pools

Review 52:Having to drive to beach/ shops.

Review 53:spacious rooms which are clean and well equipped. Great balcony area. Pool area is large and clean with palm trees and plants giving a tropical feel.

Review 54:the location is in the midlle to nowhere. If you have no car, forget about getting by walk to the nearest shop. - some of the staff does not speak English

Review 55:- comfortable and clean room

Review 56:The only downside was that the entertainment was in French ie films with no subtitles etc. and that a car was essential as there is no restraunts, shops other than those in the hotel.

Review 57:Large modern apartment with lovely views from the spacious balcony. The staff were helpful and there was free parking at the hotel. It was a quiet location which made it a very relaxed holiday.

Review 58:Limited on-site supermarket, bakery not open.

Review 59:Fabulous apartment over looking the sea and the mountains, in a lively international establishment with a fabulous pool, Easy access via car to island facilities and sights.

Review 60:Booking.Com mis-selling me an apartment they could not offer me. All Booking.Com apartments are on the cold and dark side of the Hotel - I had to negotiate a deal with the Hotel direct for a sunny room. Nearly fraud I would say.

Review 61:A wonderful apartment complex. Each apartment is extremely spacious and very well equipped. Make sure you book a room with a “pool view” as the sun shines all day long on this side of the building. Brush up on your Francais as most of the guests are French. A little remote if you don’t have transport but very close to Caola Salvaje which has an excellent selection of restaurants.

Review 62:The corridors between the bedrooms are dingy, they need to be brightened up. The food shop needs to stock a wider variety of products. Wi-fi should be available in bedrooms.

Review 63:Lovely apartments and pool area.

Review 64:The location, on a busy road with an erratic bus service and no close amenities, shops etc. Also, on Booking.com the hotel purports to be in Callao Salvaje, but has a Playa San Juan address!

Review 65:The restaurant, the bar and the bakery (all franchise outlets)

Review 66:The hotel is full of French people, very nice though :). Very nice views, silent area, nice swimming pool and very good standard of apartments. Everything is modern, bright and of good quality. Common areas are not moderated yet but the apartments are great.

Review 67:location is bit far from the town center and main attractions. Expected wifi from room as an optional facility and increased speed when connected from lobby. Food option in restaurant is bit expensive.

Review 68:Swimming pool, tennis courts, mini-market, tour operators in the same premise. Clean, comfortable and safe environment. Room is spacious.

Review 69:Its really far away, even with the car. Closest beach about 10-12km and about 10-15min by car.Sometime traffic jam occured without any reason,so the way to the beach tooks 20-30min.

Review 70:Everything,except location

Review 71:We have booked double bed, but got two singles, and we moved to another double room our 5th day when the first double room was free. Not disadvantage for us because we have planned our holiday in that way, but you need a car if want to move anywhere(10-15min by car to the Adeje-Las Americas-Los Cristianos area). Anyway location of hotel is visible on the map, so you have to decide is it ok for you or not.

Review 72:Friendly and English speaking stuff, although the first language in hotel is Spanish, then French, all receptionists are speaking English very well. Enough parking space and it is always under surveillance of security worker. Very peaceful hotel without drunk teenagers screaming and running around. Kitchen very well equipped, incl. dish-washing machine and oven.

Review 73:Difficult to get around without a car

Review 74:Quiet and away from the crowded resorts. Large apartments. Nice views. Spacious balonies. Internet access. Good kitchenettes.

Review 75:No beach near by. You have to take the car to go everywhere. A bar inthe pool would have been nice, defintly family orientated.

Review 76:Space, we have a two bedroom flat and facilities at the hotel.shops, swimming pools, restaurant.Staff helpful. Nice french people and reallygood exercise classes so you do not get bored in a gym

Review 77:- you have to clean up the apartment at the end of the stay or pay an extra fee - the building is basically in the middle of nowhere next to a loud and busy road - you need a car and can go nowhere by foot - the road is so loud that we never used the balcony an kept our windows closed at night (sea-view apartment but towards the north-west) - the apartment toward the north-west only get sunny in the evening - no daily room service

Review 78:- Nice atmosphere inside the building, very friendly residents (about half the apartment are in private hands; all french) - Big, renocated and well equipped apartments (like the photos) - Free, uncomplicated parking

Review 79:1960s tower block, used predominantly for french time-share. No beach and not near any town/village - okay if you have car. Listed as Callao Salvaje, but this is at least 4km away.

Review 80:Size of apartrment. Kitchen facility and equipment.

Review 81:Noting,m we really enjoyed our brief stay and would definitely go back.Families with children - long climb back from small beach but otherbeaches bus ride away.

Review 82:Clean, good facilities, views of countryside and sea, French peoplethere gives touch of France, on site facilities, on local bus route.Spacious apartments recently upgraded to high standard,

Review 83:Even though the facilities are very suitable for families with youngchildren, most of the guests were older people during our stay, whichmade it slightly difficult to blend in, however this also had to withthe season I guess.

Review 84:The quality of the apartments is outstanding as very recently renovatedand cleanliness is out of the world. It is indeed a completely Frenchresort as mentioned in other reviews and most guests are French, howeverwe had no problems whatsoever communicating in English with staff at thereception etc. so did not see this as an issue at all.

Review 85:You'd probably need a car as the location is quite remote.

Review 86:The apartments were spotless and well equipped. They've obviously been refurbished recently and are really lovely. There are two pools - the Flipper restaurant next to the salt water pool is wonderful, good value and delicious food. Make sure you get a flat with a pool view - they are south facing and get plenty of sunshine!

Review 87:The complex gives quite a massive impression at first. A bit in themiddle of nowhere.

Review 88:Large modern apartment and nice location by the sea. Very French withmany regulars, so not the normal charter place. Good atmosphere.

Review 89:Nothing in the whole resort was in English and as I don't speak French this made life very difficult. Also all the staff I dealt with had minimal English vocabulary, which did not help either. If I had known this was a totally French resort I would not have booked to stay.

Review 90:The Marazul was a very lovely place to stay, although we were the only English there. The pool was great.

Review 91:Fantastic apartment ,very modern, even better than the photos!! so large ,1 bedroom apartment with an onsuite and huge bathroom , shower big enough for a football team, you can even watch bbc 1,2 itv and channel 4 on flat screen tv!,, wonderful balcony great view of gomera island and los gigantes cliffs,,,2 nice swimming pools ,,one which is by the sea and has a nice restaurant and bar,, no beach but grass area and sun beds ,and possible to swim in sea,, reception area has several shops hairdressers, cake shop, boutique, and to book trips,,,good shop limited but enough to get essentials bus stop in either direction just outside hotel very good service at just a few euros visits a few villages on the way ,not a problem if you are not in a hurry ,,,,a taxi back from las americanas was 16 euros, we chose these apartments because we like to be away from busy areas ,,its perfect if you want the same,,,the hotel is mainly french but wasnt a problem for us,,,i would love to visit club marazul again.

Review 92:No A/C, car required

Review 93:Beach, Pool, late night Bar, restaurant, Supermarket all at ground floor

Review 94:Lack of playground for toddlers

Review 95:Both pools, La Muse Vin restaurant

Review 96:Very high standard of accomodation

Review 97:Expensive shops/restaurants

Review 98:Beautiful rooms

Review 99:Location a bit off, if one doesn't have a car. We had one, so was not a problem.

Review 100:Excellent facilities, good size apartment, helpful staff.

Review 101:Wonderful place - friendly, relaxing and such a good overall ambiance.

Review 102:Room is quite spacious for the price. It was clean enough and comfortable.

Review 103:No other restaurants nearby at walking distance.

Review 104:Quiet atmosphere. Nice and large balcony. Pretty and gorgeous French restaurant.

Review 105:sea view room

Review 106:Everything. It was our second time there. Peaceful

Review 107:Near noisy road

Review 108:Room, kitchen facilities and cleanliness

Review 109:There in only wifi in the lounge not in the rooms

Review 110:Very friendly people almost everyone is french

Review 111:Corridors need a desperate refurb.

Review 112:Apartments top spec. Lovely sea view from balcony. Very clean.

Review 113:Isolation

Review 114:Accomodation
