Reviews for Hôtel d'Etigny
Review 1:This is a 2 star but air con would have been appreciated as got quite hot at night but we were able to keep the balcony door open.
Review 2:Good value for money, clean, comfortable, friendly helpful staff, located in the centre of town but very quiet.
Review 3:It felt like a time warp. Breakfast was poor and so were the breakfast staff. The breakfast room was old with a 1970s make over. The guests can to eat in their dressing gowns. Felt like a retirement home. Gone if that's your thing of course but......
Review 4:Very welcoming host
Review 5:Had to park a long way from the hotel, very strong drain smell in the corridor outside our room but thankfully not in the room. The décor needs to be brought up to modern spec. Geared up for the older market
Review 6:staff were friendly and helpful; dog friendly. Quite a classy old world dining experience
Review 7:Soya milk would have been nice with breakfast for cereal as I couldn't eat much other than ham and egg. Though if my French had been better this might have been sorted :)
Review 8:Beautiful hotel, excellent location, friendly and very helpful staff.
Review 9:The location near the thermal spa and the main avenue is ideal. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. We went as a group of walkers so found the hotel good value for money. As the breakfast was not recommended by other travellers we did not try it, the breakfasts being cheaper at the near by cafe's
Review 10:Quite a noisy (although convenient) location. Only ventilation in our room which looked over the street was to open the windows, and we were woken early each day with deliveries or street cleaning lorries. Heavy footed guest upstairs literally shook our bed. Breakfast was really very poor, and if we hadn't mistakenly thought it was included in the room price we would have saved ourselves 60 euros in three days and not bothered with it. The poor breakfasts put us off trying the restaurant for any main meals. And to have an over-bath shower with no screen or curtain is just bizarre. We ended up sitting in the bath to shower. All a little disappointing.
Review 11:Being taken back fifty years to the hotels I would stay in as a schoolboy with my parents, when the world seemed a better place. Very efficient and friendly staff from the outset. Room prepared impeccably every day. Handy garage parking.
Review 12:This establishment is most comfortable - in every sense! The service excellent from the moment we were met and assisted with the parking (essential, if peak time) and then taken to our rooms. Dining experience/Cuisine was enjoyment throughout - dinner absolutely delicious. We shall return.
Review 13:It is worth much more than two stars! The hotel itself is beautiful- especially the restaurant, where we had breakfast- the design has some royal allure and the waiters are friendly and wear suits. Loved our stay!
Review 14:Overall impression was the hotel needed refurbishing and updating. Although it felt like you were staying in a hotel from a previous era, that in itself gave it a certain charm.
Review 15:Staff were polite and very helpful, good location and the food and restaurant exceptional.
Review 16:Lovely hotel, super restaurant in a good location. Private parking under cover close by.
Review 17:Great location friendly staff, clean & comfortable

Review 35:Although we discovered our room was in an annexe our first doubts were soon dispelled. The room was beautifully clean, well-equipped, very modern and had a first-class shower room. There was ample free car parking and an easy short walk into the heart of the old town. Breakfast was good value.
Review 36:Restaurant far too formal. Dressed up waiters and no prices on the menu given to the lady of the couple!! The car park was rather distant but it was secure.
Review 37:Close to town centre and Spa
Review 38:Steps to main entrance would be difficult for those with limited mobility.
Review 39:Everything was very good, welcome, bedroom, meals (fantastic!) and the general ambience. The staff could not do enough for you. We would definitely stay again - unbeatable value for money too!
Review 40:cleaning of rooms should improve: spider webs in the walls no variety of fresh fruit for breakfast Bidet stored under wash basin!
Review 41:Location in dowtown area Quiet room Nice dining room Very nice an helping staff
Review 42:The staff are typically french with no idea on customer service. We had17 euros added for parking which we werent told about, and had singlebeds instead of a double. I wouldn't stay there again. I wouldrecommend Luchon but not this hotel.

Review 46:No complaints
Review 47:We are a British couple who were returning from spending time with our family in the Pyrenees Atlantiques, and who had always wanted to visit the Val d'Aran in northern Spain. The Hotel d'Etigny provided the perfect base, and as we were there on the 14th July we got the firework display as a bonus!
Review 48:Our first room in the hotel was a suite that smelled strongly of smoke. To their credit the management moved us to another room that was very much to our liking. Only some of the lights on the landing worked forcing us to use the elevator rather than dark stairwell. Breakfast was fairly limited variety (not necessarily a bad thing) and at certain times in short supply as items ran out and were not speedily replenished. On occasion the complementary soaps and shampoos were not replenished in sufficient quantity. On checking out we found an evening meal on our bill which we had not taken.
Review 49:The hotel was located very close to the main street (shopping and eating) and the famous Thermes. The room that we had (after changing room) was very comfortable with lots of storage, quiet and cool in the evenings. The staff were polite.
Review 50:Decor was tired and bathroom facilities were dated but they didn't detract from our stay.
Review 51:A quaint hotel, right in the heart of Bagneres du Luchon. Easy access to the town centre and all restaurants. Convenient and secure parking. Staff were very helpful. I would stay here again.
Review 52:Pink sheets on the bed and a limited breakfast option for a three star hotel
Review 53:The hotel provided a quiet room at the rear exactly as I requested. The hotel is old fashioned, but pleasant. The manager was very helpful.
Review 54:There wasn't a great choice at breakfast
Review 55:A hotel with old world charm in a great location, we stayed just the one night in a standard room which was newly decorated and new soft furnishing there was a flat screen T V it was fantasic value for money we also dined at the hotel which we really recommend. There is one outstanding thing about the hotel and that is the staff everyone was polite, friendly and helpful
Review 56:Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, Michelin Star restaurant and very good value . Walking distance to church, shops and many restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 65:The food in the restaurant was absolutely excellent, but not for those on a budget
