Reviews for Hotel Restaurante Rúas
Review 1:Loved everything actually, only expect to pay 10 euros for parking not free like others said.
Review 2:The location is perfect, the style of the hotel also being inside the old city couldn't be better for the value of money. It was well sound proofed with double windows.
Review 3:The staff was very welcoming and helpful. There is a cheerful café next door and a good restaurant, which belongs to the hotel, on the pretty square around the corner. The location in the historic center was perfect.
Review 4:We loved the central location in the beautiful old town. Our room was comfortable with a decent bathroom. The restaurant was good. A very nice place where we'd stay again.
Review 5:We got a very good deal for two nights perhaps because of the traveling off season, and we were content. Room wasn't all that big, but there was two broad, very good singlebeds securing good nights sleep.
Review 6:Perhaps it's galician culture..but the people in the region and cities seem pretty cool towards us visitors from far off lands?
Review 7:I felt for the first time in a two week journey camping and walking..proper comfort...with all my simple needs met and beyond. No fuss at the reception very simple and straight, hot water, towels, good bed in a decorated room, and good food morning and evening and quaint bar with celtic soul next door and close to hand and in the midst of an ambient location. I felt rested and at ease and very grateful. It has to be the top of my comfort scale stays and value for money for rest with ambience.
Review 8:it would be helpful to know that the staff do not speak English - I tried to call to get directions about where to park ( as suggested by Booking.Com and I couldn't speak with anyone. Also, the 'contact form' doesn't work so very difficult to contact other than in person.
Review 9:The location; the food at the restaurant and the friendliness of the staff
Review 10:The bathroom had not been updated and was quite shabby. We peeked into some of the other rooms when they were left open for cleaning, and their bathrooms were nicer. It was a good value so we could put up with it.
Review 11:Wonderful city, staff very accomodating, nice cafe
Review 12:The noise from the packing up of the tables and chairs in the courtyard. The windows are double glazed but there is a lot of scraping and banging and it happens close to midnight.
Review 13:The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the centre. We were given a room overlooking the courtyard, so the view was lovely. Great toiletries and I house laundry was prompt and a good price. The menu of the day was excellent quality and price, one of the best meals I've had. It has great access to the comino too.
Review 14:What didn't we like? Nothing! The hotel is situated in the old part of Pontevedra so you're surrounded by old buildings, plazas, restaurants. Would have liked to have stayed longer it's so good.
Review 15:This is great little hotel right in the centre of Pontevedra. The rooms are a good size with all the little "freebies" you expect from a pricier hotel (razor, shaving cream, toothbrushes and toothpaste). My room also had a bath which was great for soaking away the day's walking aches. There is a lively cafe downstairs and a restaurant attached which does a special menu for guests. Beautiful and atmospheric square just outside, just right for sitting and watching the life in the old town. A gem of a find.
Review 16:Room smelt a bit sewery . Room quite small for two people and their bags for a 6 week driving holiday . Parking over the river and a 6 minute walk in the rain . GPS just couldn't find it . The street not recognized by GPS . Finallystopped a Police car and they drove there with me following them .
Review 17:Short walk to the central square .Near a quite charming small square . Restaurant on site . Helpful staff .
Review 18:No complaints
Review 19:Primarily the location. Right in the heart of the old city on a nice square. The hotel has a good restaurant / tapas bar and there are also several others nearby. Friendly and helpful staff too.
Review 20:Room could do with an upgrade. But I was comfortable and very good value
Review 21:Location and restaurant and cafeteria downstairs. Staff were brilliant: very friendly greetings at breakfast. The plazas on either side are a joy to be in during the day and evening. I was at the top and did not have any problems with noise.
Review 22:Wifi limited to small area in foyer

Review 32:Perfect location in the old town, between two squares. Lively, but the double glazed windows and air conditioning make the room very quiet if you want. Excellent menu of the day. Huge meal for E12. Eat there. Staff were extremely helpful.

Review 75:very friendly and helpful staff best meal we had in two weeks travelling in Spain
Review 76:While walking the Camino Portugueseto Santiago de Compostela, I stayed here in the old city and had dinner in the restaurant. It was clean, quiet, had a good shower and bed,and after having walked so much for several days, was happy to use the lift to the 3rd floor. I hope to come back and explore the city more.
Review 77:Bathroom very narrow with a half bath.
Review 78:Central location, friendly staff, busy hotel and restaurant/café. Free internet. Clean, comfortable. Soundproofing excellent, staying in room over the busy square. Take away service in restaurant - got sandwiches to take away. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Review 79:We arrived very late in the early hours of the morning and the staff member opened up the bar, gave us drinks and even a snack. Very friendly and welcoming.
Review 80:You may need earplugs to sleep if you have a room on the street or square. We tried to turn on the AC and close the windows, but the AC was not on yet in May. So I used earplugs. Staff are trying to serve both the restaurant and the hotel, so getting their attention is sometimes a bit hard. But they were friendly and helpful.
Review 81:Great location for camino walkers, easy to find and very easy to get back on the track the next morning. Clean room, quite large. The cafeteria next door did a good breakfast and opened early.
Review 82:Some of the rooms could be noisy at weekends.
Review 83:Right in the old town great buzz in the city. Nice dinner in the restaurant . Lovely fresh breakfast before our walk great value.
Review 84:Very basis hotel, with no heating and no sound-proofing. The staff were indifferent with checking-in and checking-out taking a very long time.
Review 85:Good position.
Review 86:The rooms are nothing special. A small hotel without much character.
Review 87:Location in town is perfect for wandering around. Hotel restaurant is recommended. Room was big enough for two plus luggage plus sofa seat.
Review 88:Difficult to find. Had 2 GPSs, and neither could take us to Hotel, although it is possible to drive there. Air conditioning did not work, was a hot day.
Review 89:Location was good. Restaurant was excellent, as was staff in restaurant.
Review 90:Nothing to dislike about this hotel.
Review 91:Great location, great lunch. Breakfast not included but had a really nice mini breakfast which was perfect for our early morning start on the Camino way. Very inexpensive. Loved the Square at night.
Review 92:The room was very noisy, the a/c didn't work. The staff was dismissive and tried to discourage me from extending my visit. Don't bring a car into the old city. There is free public parking a short walk across the bridge.
Review 93:Location in the center of the old town. Low price.
Review 94:On a pedestrian street so difficult to find and there is no parking available apart from nearby public parking. No breakfast included and the rooms are ugly and not particularly comfortable. Was fiestas so lots of noise from outside however, the problem was the noise from the kitchen downstairs. Every clatter of a dish seemed to verberate up the walls and into my ears. Awful night's sleep.
Review 95:Very close to tapas bars.
Review 96:The location right off of the busy plaza is very charming if you like a lively and festive scene from your windows. If you are visiting to enjoy the sights and culture of Pontevedra, this is an excellent place to start.
Review 97:Finding the place! Spanish road signs are appalling. When we finally found the place it was great. A very stressful 60 minuites.
Review 98:Marvellous location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good price. Free parking within 5 mins of the hotel.
Review 99:Was concerned about the location over the plaza. It went from dead at "siesta" to very lively all evening. When we were ready to sleep ( silly Americans) we were concerned but those amazing windows took care of all our issues.
Review 100:Clean simple, great location and amazing silence when you close the shutters on the windows. We were right above a busy square and thought there was no way we would be able to sleep with all the people below but all we did was shut the window and shutter and total silence. Just amazing. The staff was very helpful in getting us to parking and back. The staff gave us recomendation on where to go after our visit there. Just really nice.
Review 101:Difficult to find access by car to hotel as area was pedestrianized but once explained was okay.
Review 102:Very good location, staff helpful and friendly. Tastefully furnished and well located in the historic town. Food in restaurant very good and reasonably priced.Cost of private parking was safe and reasonable
Review 103:very very noisy around and in the house... maybe it was the first warm evening of the year - a lot of street bars and restaurant around the hotel and drunk people in the house.
Review 104:lovely rooms, lovely house, in the middle of historic city
Review 105:The location, the restaurant and the cafeteria right below. The toiletry items provided.
Review 106:The central location in the hub of everything but with double-double glazing so you didn't hear the partying if you wanted to sleep.
