Reviews for Hotel Le Nautic

Review 1:We didn't expect to have to walk up a rather old looking staircase, outside, in order to get to Reception! The lighting was particularly poor around the Hotel and staircase, quite dangerous in the dark and wet nights! . Also the lighting in the room was very poor as well, not only insufficient lighting, but the arms on the bedside lights wouldn't stay where we wanted them! Just flopped around!

Review 2:The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Review 3:Reception area including bkfst room were under renovation. So we had to go straight to the rooms and out. Iron ladder to get into the hotel. Bkfst served in the room with no table or proper place to have it. Renovations are inevitable however it is best when you are told in advance. Booking.com did a very poor job here. I also discovered that hotels now recharge Booking's commission so you end up paying more than if you had booked with the hotel direct. Good to know for the future.

Review 4:After all it is a hotel ...

Review 5:This is the second year we have stayed there, once with my son and this time with the dog. Both times the family room was ideal. We loved the balcony and the fact we had a small kitchen so we could make english tea as we like it!

Review 6:The price for the breakfast is too high for the poor variety offered. I missed fresh fruit.

Review 7:You have a beautiful harbour view from room 502. The room is light flooded with a separate living room including kitchenette and a spacious terrasse - a wonderful breezy spot. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

Review 8:No iron in room but this seems to be in every hotel I visit worldwide. No tea or coffee in room.

Review 9:Location is great. Comfortable room. Staff are nice. Nice TV.

Review 10:The hotel was on the Main Street which had a lot of restaurants. The room was lovely with a balcony too. It is a good 10-12 minutes to the main city centre but there is a boardwalk that let's you walk along the beach.

Review 11:Quite a way out of 'town' Small, limited car park.

Review 12:Friendly helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Plenty of choice for breakfast...good value.

Review 13:Lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room, position of shower over bath was a bit awkward

Review 14:Very friendly & helpful staff, very clean, great view, good location away from centre but close to excellent restaurants and shops

Review 15:Nice hotel, quiet (we had a room without sea view, the ones with a sea view are also overlooking the street). Really big and newly refurbished bathroom (great shower!). Breakfast was good (not just pastries, but also ham and cheese). It's not in the middle of the town, but not far, like 10-15 min walk (along the beach) to the main restaurants/bar area, even closer to where the beach starts. Nice Italian restaurant next door. Good place!

Review 16:only one small point - everyone was so helpful in all aspects but tea making facilities in the room would be great

Review 17:The room was clean and modern and bathroom, great shower. Always looked after very well by the staff at breakfast and at reception no matter what we needed. Views stunning from the balcony even though not a sea view

Review 18:parking was very limited and first-come, first serve, so once in you don't dare move.... which limits you to walking if you want to go somewhere. It also said on the website they can bring cots into the room for a small up-charge for children, but it turned out I had to get two rooms. It would be nice if the website didn't lead you to believe that 4 people could fit in one room.

Review 19:Air conditioned, comfortable, stand up shower, everything was clean and seemed new

Review 20:I had a bad conscience, because I had to ring the concierge to let me in. There is no way to get in using your room key and the doors are locked (glass sliding doors) after midnight I guess.

Review 21:Staff was nice, room was clean, WiFi was working

Review 22:Can't think of one.

Review 23:Lovely view(room 503) v.good internet. Friendly staff. Good shower. Nice room very clean . A supermarket nearby selling chilled wine. Restaurants within walking distance. Car park too.good to walk into town along the broad walk

Review 24:This was a nice, clean, quiet hotel which was ideal for a couple within 15 minutes walk from main Arcachon town (restaurants, shops) and a 2 minute walk from marina. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel room very modern and clean.

Review 25:Arcachon is a vibrant and wealthy holiday town. This hotel overlooks the port and has good if limited parking to the rear. The town feels very secure if you had to park in the surrounding streets. Hotel is excellent, offers only breakfast meals but the boulangerie is yards away and the most local restaurants are both better and cheaper than the seafront ones.

Review 26:Rooms to small, price!!!

Review 27:25 minutes from town centre itself, I'm very sure I paid more then I was suppose too!!! I was meant to be there for ten nights I checked out on the first night instead and went somewhere else!

Review 28:Bathtub without curtains

Review 29:Spacious room, big balcony, comfortable bed. Private parking. Close to fantastic place LA CABANE DE L'AIGUILLON, but a bit far from the center

Review 30:Although we arrived at the hotel after 4 p.m., the room hadn't been cleaned yet. So we had to wait to enter the room for 40 minutes. The water of the bathtub was not easy to use.

Review 31:The room was clean and we had a beautiful sea view. We could walk to the see side for one minute. There was a good restaurant (Au Pique Assiette) near the hotel.

Review 32:Shower head had no attachment on the wall which meant holding it in one while trying to wash! It was strange as the bathroom itself was great.

Review 33:Staff were friendly and helpful and efficient. When Wi-Fi didn't work receptionist showed my partner how to use PC. Bedroom large and comfortable and en-suite the same. Breakfast sufficient and with variety. Hotel near the beach and not too far from restaurants.

Review 34:Hotel was too far from restaurants etc. Location was good if you had a boat in the little port, but then you would be living on the boat.

Review 35:Breakfast was fine and better than we have been getting on this trip.

Review 36:Staff not very welcoming. No information on hotel in room

Review 37:Location ,Breakfast Near very good Bistro excellent meal at reasonable cost . Parking in street unless you arrive early. A walk from main town but near port with good walks.

Review 38:Car park was too small to accommodate all visitors but, that said, there was plenty of free street parking close by

Review 39:Friendly helpful staff Comfort double room was spacious with a large comfortable bed and a balcony with table and chairs Room and en suite bathroom were both very clean and recently refurbished

Review 40:Harbour view from balcony, air conditioning, large comfortable bed. Lovely walk beside harbour/ beach straight into town which was well lit at night.

Review 41:bedroom old fashioned; bathroom poor as no curtain for shower which was over the bath which made showering difficult to contain water in bath.

Review 42:breakfast staff good

Review 43:There are construction works on the ground floor, and they start noisy jobs quite early.

Review 44:The room is quite good.

Review 45:Good safe free parking

Review 46:breakfast was a little disappointing

Review 47:the room was comfortable and clean

Review 48:A little further from the centre than I thought.

Review 49:Free parking, nice staff and the room was fine.

Review 50:The wifi was not working in our room

Review 51:The shower was great, also the beds were very comfortable.

Review 52:Delightful staff, very helpful indeed. The seaview and balcony were a real plus, as we sat drinking champagne and watching the boats.

Review 53:Great view out to the sea , hotel was clean and modern and the staff we're very friendly

Review 54:the room was very well appointed and bathroom facilities (great shower) well set up. The shampoo provided was very nice quality!

Review 55:Not a great deal to do

Review 56:Very comfortable modern room, clean not great view but could be worse

Review 57:Helpful staff. Nice views. Comfortable bed.

Review 58:Quite a walk to the main resturants etc although a pleasant walk on the decking along the beach!

Review 59:Distance from town centre

Review 60:Room with balcony

Review 61:Polyester sheets on heavy duvet. Very white and clean, but too hot.

Review 62:Private parking on site. Nice breakfast. View from room.

Review 63:Absence of tea making facilities in room

Review 64:Quality of room

Review 65:Insufficient parking

Review 66:Easy access to allfacilities in town

Review 67:Weather...not your fault...

Review 68:View and terrace as well as kitchen.

Review 69:No tea for coffee facilities in the room

Review 70:We got a room facing the ocean, nice view. The room is newly renovated and bed is comfortable.

Review 71:Location, parking

Review 72:Comfortable room nice staff Great balcony!

Review 73:The bath had no shower curtain so the bathroom flooded, we had to keep logging on to the wifi every 10 minutes

Review 74:Nice view of the port from the balcony

Review 75:wi fi in the rooms was poor

Review 76:Excellent "mamas kitchen" restaurant next door. Staff courtesy, breakfast, rooms clean

Review 77:15 minute walk to Arcachon centre

Review 78:Quality and value

Review 79:Nothing

Review 80:Clean and comfortable

Review 81:No fridge or safe in room.

Review 82:Location and view from bedroom window. Room was freshly painted and very comfortable. Great walk in shower.

Review 83:we would have liked a coffee machine in bedroom ,, for when we came back to relax ,but other than that ,fantastic loved the people and very clean through out ,, thank you so much mr and mrs YAPP

Review 84:See view over houses. Street noise. No double beds. TV, not any usual channel available. Breakfast: no one greets you and tell you to help yourself Price to high for this kind of hotel. 1 old deskotp at reception desk for all hotel guests. Very few parking slots.

Review 85:It was clean.

Review 86:The price was a bit steep - we got a 1 bedroom apartment, withkitchen, massive lounge and bedroom overlooking the river & 5 minfrom Bordeaux city centre for 2 nights @ 120 euros less... Doesn'tmake sense.

Review 87:-Location was amazing -Beds were very comfy -View from the roomoverlooking the bay

Review 88:The window between the bathroom and room was somewhat disconcerting. Complete lack of privacy. Paid extra for room with sea view. Not sure if it was worth it. Very narrow balcony

Review 89:Good hotel with nearby excellent fish restaurant

Review 90:No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Broken shutter on doors to balcony which meant we were woken at 5:30am most mornings due to the brightness coming through. Very noisy on the Saturday night as our balcony was immediately above a popular and lively pizzeria. The receptionist, though perfectly polite was not very welcoming and offered not one single piece of info/ advice regarding the hotel or our stay. Overall it was ok. We spent very little time in the hotel. It was about a 20/25 min gentle walk from the centre of town which for us was okay but foe families with young kids it might not be so suitable. Excellent little local but extremely popular restaurant just down the road, The Ciprion, we would highly recommend booking.

Review 91:The room we stayed in was immaculate, it looked very recently refurbished, the bathroom was spotless and the air conditioning was very effective.

Review 92:bath with no easy shower facilities, no curtain, no wall fixing skimpy toiletries no proper curtains and only a rather stiff roller shutter long way to the centre

Review 93:friendly and helpful staff who even provided a conversion plug for uk/continental electrics the croissants and bread at breakfast were excellent [artisan boulanger] quiet near sea

Review 94:Couldn't work out the air conditioning so it was a little warm in the night.

Review 95:Friendly very helpful staff. Lovely location and room with balcony. Would definitely stay again.

Review 96:Sink in bathroom looked good but not very practical. Painting the bathroom black wasen't to my taste but at least the lighting was good.

Review 97:Location was good as easy to find on entering the town and in a quieter area but with good basic amenties. 30 minutes walk along the boardwalk to the central of town. As we were here in March parking was possible in the carpark but there was also other parking close by and on the street. Our room was at the back of the hotel but as the sun shone on there all the day it was pleasant to seat on the balcony in the evening. Room good size as was the bathroom. Staff very helpful.

Review 98:There wasn't anything I did not like.

Review 99:The room was clean and warm and the staff friendly and welcome. It was close to the port and main town and very close to a fantastic restaurant we found called Restaurant La Bouee.

Review 100:Bathroom should have been renewed 15 years ago. Tipically what you see a lot in france. The combination of things makes it a bit shabby but they certainly know how to charge. at the end of the day price-quality just not good.

Review 101:Location was good, near the port! Bit noisy, but double glass was useful. Beds good, staff friendly.

Review 102:Shower holder in an odd place on wall over bath- you had to be careful not to bump your face on it.

Review 103:Staff were very helpful, booking an onward hotel for us, good at recommending restaurants, giving directions etc. always pleasant and helpful. We had a modernized room on a higher floor at the front with a good view of the port and a little balcony. Treble glazing cut any street noise really well.

Review 104:No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Full length window looking into toilet. Wi-fi signal very poor in room.

Review 105:Newly decorated rooms. Location to harbour. Local bars and restaurants, especially Aux Delices d'Alice. Very quiet in rooms at back of hotel.

Review 106:The hotel was in a nice quiet location, a few minutes from the seafront and a pleasant 20 minute stroll along the boardwalk into town. The superior room was comfortable with a great shower. We didn't have a seaview room but the view from the balcony was nice and it was south facing so always sunny.

Review 107:Charging 2 euro for a bottle of water that had been placed in the roomwas a bit cheap, given the 134euro price of the room. This type of roomshould have an in-room safe. Our friend's room was somewhat lessexpensive and even though we had made reservations early, had arrivedearly and the hotel had better rooms available, it took severalarguments to get the staff to provide a better located room that wasavailable at this same rate--I.E., Front of building, not back with hotafternoon sun and overlooking the parking lot. What I find irritatingabout a great no. Of hotels, including the Hotel Nautic, is that theyattempt to get rid of their less preferred rooms on guests who alreadyhave a reservation. It is these customers who should get the besttreatment and not the latecomers!

Review 108:Our room was recently refurbished and had a nice balcony overlooking thesea. No problems parking our bicycles in a safe place.

Review 109:The tiny toilet. The dark colours used in the shower/toilet. Instead of dark brown in tiny spaces ( no windows) light walls would have been less oppressive.

Review 110:The staff, being able to park. The view from 4th floor marina view room.

Review 111:The resort was easy to reach by train. We liked the small balcony and view of the harbour. We enjoyed looking round the Ville d'Hiver in spite of the pouring rain!

Review 112:Very minor faults, the location of the hotel was lovely but it was a good 25minute walk from the centre of Arcachon for shops, restaurants etc but the walk was very pleasant along the sea front. We got a taxi one day as it was raining and it cost us €15 for a 10min drive. Also be aware when we were leaving we got a taxi from the hotel to bordeaux airport and it was €170.00 for 1 taxi. Extremely expensive for taxis but the train did not leave at that time. In most restaurants they speak a little english but it can be a bit of a problem with some as they have no english.

Review 113:The hotel was in a lovely location, near the Port and so the walk was lovely to the beach the nearest beach was a 5-10min walk. Staff were super at the hotel did everything we asked for and very friendly. Room and bathroom was spotless and cleaned everyday. Get a room on the 3rd floor and above just for the view. Some restaurants around hotel and one next door to hotel called LA BASSINO really nice and staff were super. We got the bus from airport to bordeaux train station which was €4 each and train then to Arcachon was €10.90 each and they leave every hour. Walk from train station to Hotel Nautic was 2km but pleasant. Many restaurants and lovely wine. Every saturday there is a market in the centre of Arcachon lovely things to buy. Nice shops and Cap Ferret was spectacular that is definitely something to see.

Review 114:Breakfast is not worth it's price (8-9eur), as choice is very limited.

Review 115:Friendly staff, at the reception 24/7. Comfortable rooms with views over the harbour. Good value for money.

Review 116:The building was old, standard room with no view at the sea although itwas close to the harbour, without even balcony. Far away from the centerand the restaurants. The furniture old.

Review 117:The location was a con- the sea view for which we paid could only be seen down a narrow street and between houses and trees. The street was incredibly noisy -you couldnt sit on the balcony and hear each other speak. The air conditioning only worked if it was turned on for the whole hotel which it was not at the beginning of our visit for several days or at the end even though we asked for it-they said it was not hot enough. This meant we could not sleep as we had to have the window open -and therfore got all the noise. The room was very basic -only one chair, no kettle, rather cramped. the whole thing was very impersonal -just a business stop over really

Review 118:the bed was comfortable

Review 119:The rainy weather....

Review 120:All the staff were friendly, professional, knowledgeable. Our top floor room had a view of the bay, which I had requested. Well located, not in the tourist shopping center, we could walk to very good nearby restaurants and along the bay front. Taking the ferry to Cap Ferret for lunch on a stormy day worked perfectly.

Review 121:The newly upgraded room (superior) has strange decor, but that is a matter of taste. Parking in the hotel carpark was a little difficult at times, but the street outside was OK.

Review 122:Excellent welcome, very attentive to our needs. Comfortable bed with great view over the bay. Good spot for lots of reasonably priced restaurants not designed for tourists alone. Good lounge and dining area near reception.

Review 123:Standard double in need of modernization, old artex everywhere. room had no shower curtain! Friends room great.. need to check room before booking

Review 124:Private parking at back of hotel. secure garage available. Close to beach Superior room good.

Review 125:bath did not have a shower curtain nor high hook to hang the shower handle up high enough to take a hands free shower.

Review 126:location and balcony. affordable for a quick weekend getaway.

Review 127:No kettle in room. In the old rooms the cleaning leaves a bit to be desired. Lack of variety for breakfast.

Review 128:Position of hotel in relation to access to beach, walks and restaurants. Really, really comfortable beds. Position of room - at front with a view of the marina. Free car parking. The receptionist at our arrival was happy, helpful and chatty.

Review 129:The window in the bathroom which restricted privacy. The table in the room was too small to be of any use! It was further to walk into the centre of town than anticipated.

Review 130:the view from the room, the number of pillows! the free parking, the cleanliness.

The Fine Print
