Reviews for Appart-Hôtel Le Trianon

Review 1:A few 'works' going on this time but will be even better once finished. The second lift will be a super addition.

Review 2:Love the location, our second visit to this apart hotel. The secure parking is excellent for our dogs who sleep in the car.

Review 3:The noise at night in corridors was excessive banging on doors, banging of doors, loud talking by other guest, might just have been unlucky. Room was tired and in need of a facelift, but it was the end of season.

Review 4:Great location. Nice helpful staff.

Review 5:the hotel requires refurbishment. furniture is old.

Review 6:The Aparthotel is located right on the beach. we had a studio with sea view which was great. So if you can make sure you get a room on the 6th floor. it is good to have a kitchen in the room. Supermarket is nearby.

Review 7:hallways & stairs were not lite very well. Photo on booking.com is of the casino, not the hotel. This is misleading.

Review 8:Location is right by the beach. Guy on reception very helpful and friendly

Review 9:The carpet outside our room was wet and the whole corridor smelled foul. Also, the indoor paid parking lot was full and we had to park 7 blocks away.

Review 10:Location was excellent

Review 11:The location was excellent and the rooms were clean, well presented and equipped although a little dated. Quite good value for money given the location.

Review 12:People at reception no interest whatsoever in the guests. Kitchen equipment hardly sufficient to prepare a meal. At least one kitchen towel + some kitchen soapliguid would have been nice.

Review 13:Excellent location and good working wifi and airco.

Review 14:The lift did not work when we arrived so we had to climb the stairs to the 5th floor with our bags - no apology at all. The room smelt terrible. No bottle opener available. Booked a room for 4 people and it was very small and outdated. The person who welcomed us hardly spoke English. He couldn't even tell us the wifi password in English.

Review 15:A good location is the only thing this place has going for it. Decent size balcony.

Review 16:Not very modern. No oven. No kettle. Hobs are dangerously close to a shelf above with a microwave on it. If the hobs were on for a while the shelf became too hot to touch, definite fire hazard. No vacuum cleaner, in the room, there is a communal vacuum cleaner on the second floor.... Apparently. The apartment is very small but rather than an oven they have chosen to fit a full size 12 place setting dish washer??? Bizarre! There is a sweeping brush & dust pan in the room to clean with. Best attempts were made using this to clean the room on departure (We took picture to prove this). However, they threatened to keep my €200 deposit as the room was "dirty" as they described it! And I had neglected to remove the pillow cases & quilt cover from the bedding? I can honestly say I hadn't read this, been informed of this & have certainly NEVER stayed anywhere before that requires you to do this. This is also the point at which we were told that there was a communal vacuum cleaner on the second floor that we should have used before vacating the room. I offered to get the vacuum & clean it but they said it was too late as I had already checked out. The other problem I had was, when leaving the underground parking after check out you have to use a code on a key pad as the fob given to you has to be handed in. The problem is that when you pull up to the gate the keypad is on the outside of the gate & is inaccessible from the inside. You have to go through a fire exit, punch in the code then run back to your car & hope the gate doesn't close in the mean time! I was very disappointed with Appart-Hôtel Le Trianon as the level of service is well below par and it greatly needs fitting with essential appliances, like an oven. It also spoilt our stay as the check out was horrendous, if it hadn't been for a friend who was with us who speaks fluent French I'm sure I would have been charged the deposit.

Review 17:The location was great, less than 100 meters from the beach. Ease of access.

Review 18:Apart from Reception area, entire hotel is sadly faded and fairly drab.

Review 19:Location - so central and by the sea front. Price - great value Extremely clean Very spacious for 2 people

Review 20:Only minor gripe was the lack of decent wi fi coverage to all the rooms (we were unlucky). If you're sensitive to heat the lack of air con might disrupt your sleep during hotter periods too...

Review 21:Clean. Parking was very handy. Great location for all the central attractions and eateries of Arcachon plus therefore a good base to explore the surrounding area.

Review 22:2 Room Cabin very basic and 2nd room is nothing more than a box room. Expensive for what it was. For two couples travelling together suggest you book two different rooms. Very disappointed

Review 23:nothing - it was great

Review 24:brilliant staff and location - we were late arriving and they made great effort to send email with parking codes and other vital info - thanks so much to all the staff -parking is great too

Review 25:No room service (we stead 5 nights) Caution (200 Euro) No facilities to clean the kitchen Bad smell in the rooms (especially in the bathroom) Traffic in front of the window

Review 26:Location Balcony

Review 27:We couldn't have access to the room until 5pm on our first day, so had to spend three hours walking around town.

Review 28:Proximity to the beach and the cafes and restaurants on the promenade.

Review 29:parking in town is impossible. 22euros first night, as the hotelcar park was full. No on-street parking possible. Lady on reception not very helpful on day 1 when we were very stressed in the traffic jams etc.

Review 30:Location. Surrounded by restaurants, promenade, sea, casino, shops everything close to hand.

Review 31:Corridors very dark going into hotel rooms could definitely brighten up! Bath had no shower curtain or holder for shower head which was a bit annoying (water power fine though) If wanted breakfast had to book day before you want it Staff could have been bit more welcoming/friendlier!

Review 32:Excellent location 200 yards and your on the beach Great wifi connection Great cooking facilities & utensils Was travelling solo but would be ideal for family of 4/ group of friends :)

Review 33:Very dated and tired looking place.Reception staff grumpy.Room very noisy due to busy road.Definitely not deserving the four star rating

Review 34:Nice balcony and spacious enough studio for four people.Kitchen well equipped.Very central and only yards from beach

Review 35:WiFi didn't work. Corridors were very dark and lights went off very quickly.

Review 36:Position was excellent - easy walking distance to the beach and central town.

Review 37:Apart from the reception area, the hotel is a bit tired and needs a bit of a touch up, our room was on the third floor and the noise from the cafe / bar on ground floor kept us awake till it closed at 2:00am but that was not the hotels fault and could have been a one off as we only stayed one night, kids snored all the way through it.

Review 38:Kids loved the bunk beds we had in our room, the location was excellent, just off the beach although our balcony faced the town and not the sea, would recommend using the hotel car parking facility. After a day on the beach we also appreciated the air con.

Review 39:My only complaint is the lack of AC. For the price you pay per night they could spend the money to install Air Conditioning in the rooms. If the rooms had AC I would rate this higher.

Review 40:Location was perfect! Room was standard and simple and small but worked for a beach weekend. It is not fancy but I didn't expect it to be.

Review 41:breakfast too expensive

Review 42:very comfy room. good facilities great location

Review 43:Room

Review 44:Vergane glorie

Review 45:Ligging

Review 46:Not clean at all, carpets smell very bad, bed was very uncomfortable

Review 47:Location and facilities were very good.

Review 48:the hallway needs some renovation

Review 49:great location

Review 50:1 lift being repaired, poor lighting in corridors, carpets removed in corridor on 2nd floor

Review 51:Parking in basement.

Review 52:Felt like no attention had been given to the apartment since the mid 80's. Smelt of cigarettes - and my daughter hated the cabin room

Review 53:Location

Review 54:The smell in the morning

Review 55:Is well located

Review 56:staff ok but hotel an overpriced glorified hostel

Review 57:the room, terrible the sofa bed, terrible the bathroom, horrible

Review 58:the location

Review 59:1 seul ascenseur

Review 60:Emplacement

Review 61:Leaving

Review 62:Good big room for 4. Within 50mts of beach. Good parking worth every penny.

Review 63:Dirty room, black mould around bath/bathroom, poor service - room not cleaned during 3 day stay. Whole hotel "tired" needs refurbishing. Stayed in better 2 star hotels.

Review 64:We arrived on the 6th floor direct from the parking, immediate impression of corridor was old and unattractive, corridor needs a makeup !; appartment furnishings were basic and plain white walls, some touching up needed here and there, cupboard doors of different colours of wood ! It gave a feeling of being a bit basic for the money, when with a bit more effort by the owners it would seem very comfortable (which actually it was).

Review 65:Very well situated only 2 mins walk from the sea front and pier; underground parking; appartment facilities were recent (cooking rings, dishwasher, fridge, microwave); bathroom was recently renovated; entrance hall elegant and well presented; very quiet; bed comfortable

Review 66:-No smoke alarm -Extractor fans in toilet, bathroom and kitchen areas did not work. -No shower - had a shower screen but primitive shower head. (rubber tube and no wall attachment) -To get out of bedroom you had to walk sideways past the end of the bed. -Door handle on main patio door hanging off. Room 115 -Balcony flooded when it rained. -Lighting poor in living area. -No safety instructions ie fire safety; No manuals for -microwave, air con. -No linen or towels changed. One toilet roll to do us for a week! We had to replace it ourselves. -No rubbish collection. You had to take it yourself to the underground garage (if you had no car you would not know this!) -You are expected to clean your apartment and leave a 200euro deposit ( for breakages or if they think cleaning is needed.) We were not told of this when we booked in. - The receptionist was very rude and unhelpful. All he wanted was our money in full when we arrived. On leaving the girl receptionist was also a rude person. -Only one lift for 6 floors. -Our main complaint was the shock that basic laundry and cleaning services were non existent ----if we had been staying for a fortnight -would we have been expected to wash our own sheets etc?

Review 67:Bed very comfortable. Lovely sheets. Kitchen facilities good but no kettle - pity we didn't know that we would have a dish washer. Garage secure but smelly! as it was also the bin area.

Review 68:Not at all a 4 stars hotel services and facilities. Only a apartment hotel 2 stars not clean and noisy. Ask for a room managed by the hotel and not by private owner. Book a car park place very hard to find a place nearby hotel.

Review 69:Located near the beach

Review 70:There was no parking available, it is difficult for tourists to find a parking spot anywhere around the hotel. We were there for one night only, would have liked coffee in our room in the morning. There was no coffee or filters and we were not able to buy any in the neighbouring area. The room was very hot, no A/C not even a fan. Because of that, we had to leave the windows open on a very noisy street, both at night and in the early morning. The price was much too high for the night's sleep we had

Review 71:The beds were comfortable Location is perfect Town of Arcachon is wonderful

Review 72:The morning noise of delivering and collecting waist

Review 73:The plage is 100 steps from the hotel the receptions was helpful andflexible to propose a parking. The apartment is well equipped and thereis a shop close to buy anything you need.

Review 74:Rather noisy side street leading to beach. Requested sea view but didnt find out it wasnt possible until we got there.

Review 75:Handy for everything in the town centre, station and beach.

Review 76:I guess if I had to think of anything then it would be to suggest they leave a bit of washing up liquid in the rooms so we could wash up....we were only there for two nights so it wasn't worth our while buying a bottle. Not much can be done about this but one lift is a bit of a problem, though I am being terribly picky.

Review 77:The staff were extremely pleasant and efficient. On arrival we were given access to underground parking (for a fee). The rooms were brilliant with everything you would want - kettle, toaster microwave, fridge and dishwasher (we will take dishwasher tabs next time!!). Loved the balcony with views and the room had aircon which was most welcome. We had read that the hotel is situated in a noisy spot being next door to the casino and on a busy street, however we didn't notice it particularly and it certainly didn't bother us. The best thing of all was the location - right in the hub of things; cafes, bars, restaurants, etc. and it is right on the beach. I am already sorting out my trip next year!!!

Review 78:Self-catering facilities were very adequate. Bed was very comfortable.Excellent location within Arcachon's central city area - handy for thebeach and all the activities in the city.

Review 79:Our room was extremely noisy as it was right over a main alleyway to the beach and also the street cleaning etc started at 5am. We had air con in our room so we could shut our windows at night but our friends in the adjoining room did not so it was very either too hot or too noisy to sleep well. They asked to change rooms but it was not posible. The hotel is rather tired and shabby and the staff not particularly helpful. All in all it was not awful but we would not stay there again, despite it's very good location.

Review 80:Very good position close to the beach and centre of Arcachon. Convenient to have cooking facilities. It would be very good for a family as there is a double sofa bed in the main room and bunk beds in the adjoining lobby. Well equipped kitchen area.

Review 81:Despite the website indicating that the rooms had air conditioning, oneof the 2 rooms we were staying in did not have air conditioning whichwas a problem as the temperature outside was 39 degrees centigrade. Also, upon arrival, we were advised that we had to pay an extra €10 supplement for a third person in one of the rooms even though the website quoted a price inclusive for 3 people.

Review 82:Close to the sea front and the town

Review 83:On arrival at the hotel the young woman receptionist was rude andargumentative which quickly biurst our initial excitement and illusions,we avoided the front desk from that point on. Arcachon is a pleasant middle-rank sort of resort, dominated by French people which is interesting andgives an authentic touch. However, the attitude of the staff means wewill not contemplate going any where near this hotel again.

Review 84:An efficient choice In Arcachon, but our stay was ruined by the rudenessof the staff we encountered on arrival.

Review 85:Generally shabby room, needs major update, especially as it is not cheap. Cannot believe it is four stars! The room smelt unpleasant, stale urine?

Review 86:2mins from the beach Central and easy to find as you drive in, you do. Ot get stuck in the one way system Parking beneath, although you pay for it Family Room

Review 87:Not the hotels fault but the street cleaners and bin men start at about6am so don't expect sleep after that time.

Review 88:Wonderful girl on reception and all the other staff were friendly. Roomwas okay but I was in a bunk which wasn't overly comfortable.

Review 89:Ladies in the reception. One of them opened the door with her key, when our daughter was sleeping and showed our appartment to other clients. That was strange!!! And she didn't appologised.

Review 90:Everything was really great!!!!Very clean calm and nice; All nessesary things are in the room. The appartment is comfortable, excellent for 3 persons;Location is just on the beach.Parking is in two steps from the hotel.Men on the desk was very kind and polite. He was always ready to help.

Review 91:First time I have been to arcachon without really knowing what the townwas all albout. Let me tell you it is breath taking - the view ...thebeach...the sand dune ...everything exceeded our expectations at alllevels. I like this hotel was 5 mins walk from the train station and2min walk from the beach. The hotel is not a 5 star but just perfect ifyou're on a decent budget and want to buy groceries and make food. Askto have the balcony by the sea side - it's nice to just look out evenwhen you're in the apartment. They can store luggage but not the safestif you need to check out early. Not too sure if theres luggage storingfacilities at the train station. We didn't end up going to Cap Feret asit rained the day we were supposed to go but it's a small island in themiddle of the ocean which I heard was georgeous. But regardless my kidsare 4 and 7 and enjoyed themselves at the beach and at the sand dune. For the sand dune take the bus from the train station so much cheaper1Euro/person is the fare. Do not do these excursions they cost15Euros/person. The best part about Arcachon no bees / no bugs you canleave your balcony door open all night without having to worry aboutthe bugs. Have a great trip if you plan to go .....I know we will bethere again.

Review 92:The room was a bit small to contain a kitchen area, table and chairs anda double bed. The bunk bed area was extremely smal, I would not like tostay there with a family. However my main complaint was that our roomoverlooking the street was extremely noisy, all the time.

Review 93:It was very close to the beach and the town, and was very convenient. The room was as I expected form the images on the web site. The balconywas larege and very useful.

Review 94:The elevator (only one) was scary to ride. Each floor had the lights turned when you arrived witht the lift, the seconds before you found the light switch was scary! Rooms looks like they had salfe made renovations done, and no table in front of the sofa! Noisy area!

Review 95:Nice and close to the Casino and center of town. The beach only stonte throw away with a beautaful walkway along the beach! Nice reception!

Review 96:Reception not working after 20:00

Review 97:Big space

Review 98:Location is superb

Review 99:Great value for a family. Good location, everything you need.

Review 100:Décoration à rafraîchir.

Review 101:Bon rapport qualité-prix ; à côté du palais des congrès.

Review 102:Hotel is old and wear and tear is evident

Review 103:Great Location Friendly staff

Review 104:Easy access from train. Close to beach and city. Casino was notannoying.

Review 105:Excellent situation - good clean appartment.

Review 106:Location and value for money out of high season

Review 107:The room is quite big and comfortable . It is close to the beach also very quiet.

Review 108:Rooms tired and basic

Review 109:Great location
