Reviews for Résidence Vacances Bleues Villa Regina
Review 1:I think the room was a bit on the small side and not very special, a bit cheap in style when you consider the building itself. And the shower curtain in the bathroom should be washed or changed. Breakfast nothing special, cheese in plastic, tea water not hot etc
Review 2:The location and the nice feel of the area and the typical architecture. The staff was very kind
Review 3:loveless interior (though functional and well equipped)
Review 4:spacious rooms for families, quiet location within the villa quarter; has swimming pool and pool table
Review 5:price was rather high.
Review 6:Location was perfect, small swimming pool available for excercise, kitchenette with good cool/freezer. Entourage was like being in a romantic aristocratic old film.
Review 7:Outdoor pool is unheated. Cooking facilities limited (two hot plates and a microwave). WiFi only available in public areas.
Review 8:Located in a beautiful area of Arcachon, which itself is a lovely town, with good beaches, restaurants and facilities. We also found the people very friendly. Hotel was very quiet.
Review 9:Not too far from town and to the beach. (400 m away). Go through the park close by and down the hill in the lift. Grand old home with lots of yesterday charm. Rooms were very large, bright and airy with the doors opened. We loved the spacious atrium. The staff was very nice.
Review 10:swimming pool could be a bit warmer
Review 11:The third floor where we stayed had been completely refurbished. The kitchen contains everything you need. Nice location and garden. Very quiet and peaceful.
Review 12:The weather!
Review 13:The architecture of winter town among which the hotel is set and its history. Our first experience of an aparthotel. Enjoyed the flexibility of the eating arrangement.
Review 14:a woman who seemed to be the owner was really sour
Review 15:nice and very quiet location, good bed, kitchen facilities, free parking, not far from the centre and the shore, very nice 5min walk. the staff was excellent , very helpful, but one who seemed to be the owner?
Review 16:No restaurant near, so you have to go into the town or cook your own. Lots of one way streets which confuse thw sat-nav! ensure that you get a detailed local map to get to/fom it by car. Lots of traffic in area, jams from weight of traffic on local motorways, (in September!)
Review 17:A good place to stay to see the centre of Arcachon. Walk through the park and down on a lift! Has cooking facilities, but will also supply a good breakfast if you need it.
Review 18:Poor value for money, very dated room with poor quality decor. No hairdryer in bathroom, plug socket hanging off wall, no air-conditioning and windows didn't open easily
Review 19:Breakfast included in the price of the room. The impressive building style.A dedicated room for bike parking.
Review 20:The Villa has seen better days and Needs a bit of Money spent on it. We never found the pool, because we didn't have time to swim.
Review 21:We loved the location just above the town of Arcachon and the lift in the park to get down to the town, without having to park the car. Parking at the hotel was obviously great for that reason. The area surrounding the Villa was also beautiful.
Review 22:The hotel is very big but stuck in the 70s, old carpets and bathrooms, the toilet has a broken flush knob and smells like pure chlorine. There is no service to clean your rooms, so for as long as you stay nobody changes your towels which are old, worn and very thin to start with and nobody cleans your room. We had a good size cockroach in our bathroom as well. The room was very big with a little kitchen and very used utensils with food stuck in them. The reception area literally does not exist and when we arrived a member of the stuff was too busy trying to get the stain out of the carpet with a loud cleaning machine and was not paying any attention to new comers. I am sure he did not mean to be rude but just not trained to be any other way. There is no wifi in the rooms, only in the corridors or the breakfast area but even there the speed is very slow and the line is unreliable. Breakfast is very poor with no cheese or ham or any eggs offered for 9 euros per person. To finish it off, the front door never locks for the night and there is no stuff present during the night hours so people keep flowing in at 3am, 5 am, loud, making lots if noise and being very disturbing. There is no a/c in the hotel so you have to keep the balcony open all the time and therefore inevitably get bit by mosquitos. This would be all ok to tolerate for just two of us with the kids being in the camp but not for 360 Euros that we had to pay just for a two night stay! Super overpriced for what they have to offer.
Review 23:The location is really good, straight down to the main restaurant area and centre of the city.
Review 24:WIFI did not work in the room only in the stairs and restaurant A little too expensive (130 Euro for 3 people, not including breakfast)
Review 25:Free parking Nice surroundings, calm part of Arcachon yet just a few minutes walk from the beach. Friendly staff
Review 26:There was no kettle. Tea making facilities would have gone down well!
Review 27:Hotel felt relaxed and welcoming, staff were helpful, room was spacious, location was behind the park meaning a lovely little walk down into the town and beach.
Review 28:Sparsely furnished room. No mirror. No comfortable seating. Uncomfortable bed. Not enough pillows. We stayed 5 nights ---that was 4 nights too many!
Review 29:The staff
Review 30:Tired and run-down property. Room fit-out old and worn. Cost was around double that of comparable properties we've stayed at..
Review 31:Quiet location away from beaches and city centre, although it meant having to drive to get a meal.
Review 32:spacious studio apartment, utensils are all available with a spacious table, microwave and dishwasher.
Review 33:Wi-fi only available in public areas.
Review 34:Impressive historic hotel. Excellent location, on site parking and apartment with kitchen facilites.
Review 35:Tired, old fashioned hotel.
Review 36:Fairly convenient for Arcachon town centre.
Review 37:Thin towels Threadbare carpet NOT value for money....more like a backpacker hotel
Review 38:Arcachon Town, the Medoc, the Dune du Pilat and Bordeaux were all within reach. Blaye, via the ferry across the Gironde, well worth a visit.
Review 39:Could have done with the lift in the park being open till 10. 7.30 closure too early.
Review 40:The town is delightful and people very helpful
Review 41:We enjoyed everything !
Review 42:Very warm welcome. Great location
Review 43:Noise fromfridge and same another Things sound like water dripping . And very hold carpets ?etc
Review 44:It is old and dated. needs a lot of restoration.
Review 45:Position good Had a bit of character
Review 46:We love this hotel for its comfort, cleanliness and friendliness. Easy access to the town and a great starting point for some lovely walks.
Review 47:location,pool,garden
Review 48:Breakfast Staff No wifi in room
Review 49:Location
Review 50:Great holiday place in the green district.
Review 51:Just a bit dated
Review 52:Atmosphere of an old luxury villa from a bygone age.
Review 53:There was not anything that I did not like.
Review 54:Very pleasant location in a leafy suburb and close to the park and lift down to the town centre. The room was well equiped so you can self cater.
Review 55:Nothing
Review 56:Great building in a mature neighbourhood, walkable distance to the center of Arcachon. The family rooms were perfect and comfortable. Felt like home away from home. The decor was a bit dated and old, but the building and gardens were charming.
Review 57:Nothing to comment on
Review 58:Good location, can walk into busy area but in pretty quiet neighbourhood. Staff very helpful and relaxed.good apartment suitable for travelling with 5 year old and two dogs
Review 59:It's a little bit scruffy but that wouldn't put me off at the price I paid. A walk uphill from the town which takes around 10-15 minutes.
Review 60:I loved the size of the room, enormous, with all basic cooking facilities and a separate bathroom and loo. The double bed was already made up and was very comfortable, and there was a separate sofa bed. Very quiet environment.
Review 61:bed/sofa uncomfortable to sit on. Could perhaps offer an armchair for those of us who are not so young.
Review 62:Upgraded as first room rather small but the young man who showed us to our accommodation didn't hesitate to offer something bigger. This was really appreciated.
Review 63:Very odd check-in times, sometimes completely deserted but that ties in with the self-catered feel.
Review 64:Unique setup and atmosphere, very relaxed and friendly.
Review 65:We were pleased with every aspect of our stay. This was our second visit, and we will return.
Review 66:We appreciated that our dogs were welcomed. We particularly liked having a room that gave us direct access to the outside. It made for very convenient dog-walking!
Review 67:At time of our staying in hotel elevator was out of order. This made some problem with our baggage.
Review 68:Clean, well-equipped, big enough room, close to city center. Wi-Fi was acceptable in the room despite according to hotel's description it is available only in public areas. Resume: good value of money.
Review 69:Nothing really to mention. They don't clean and replace linen/towel until you request (and probably take extra fee), but it was no problem for us. We had WiFi in the room (though week signal) since it was close enough to lobby, but you shouldn't rely on that - expect WiFi only in public area.
Review 70:Stayed 6 nights, early October - and really liked the hotel. Excellent location - quite neighborhood, really walkable distance to center and beach. Very friendly stuff, though not all speak English. Room has all you need, even dish-washing machine, but no kettle indeed :). Room is spacious and plenty of light. Price was nice due to the low season. Would definitely recommend.
Review 71:Electrical Appliances old, with no kettle as such, just a filter coffee maker. Toilet ventilation didn't work.
Review 72:Friendly, helpful staff, location in the resort and value for money
Review 73:Liked everything but the walk back from the seafront may be a little tiring for for some people.
Review 74:Beautiful old residence. Large comfortable well equipped apartments. Quiet location.
Review 75:The pillows are not very comfortable being of the foam chips variety but having a neck problem, I travel with my own down pillow anyway so this is not a deal breaker!
Review 76:We had a twin studio which was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen has all the basic equipment one needs for simple cooking. I particularly liked having a bathtub. The staff are charming and helpful.
Review 77:Would have benefitted from a table-top oven - a microwave is no substitute!
Review 78:Spacious room with cooking facilitites. Peaceful location on top of a hill. Old (circ 1900) hotel now converted into self-contained apartments. It had a homely charm - despite looking a little 'tatty' around the edges. It was good value when we booked for a late break (October)
Review 79:Located conveniently to town and the sea. A large old fashioned hotel in the 'Grand house' style. Not modern but well equipped for a night or a week. Lift to upper floors. Accommodated our car an bicycles. Good value.
Review 80:Unpretentious comfortable hotel with apartments and plenty of space, well located, walking distance to anywhere in town and transit, groceries nearby, friendly staff, bicycle friendly, gay friendly.
Review 81:There was no kettle so not able to make quick drink of tea/coffee. There was coffee maker for those staying longer. Impressive building but its glory rather faded now.
Review 82:Good situation, room very spacious with kitchen facilities which we did not need to use as we only stayed one night. Owner/manager very helpful and informative. Allowed access to room early.
Review 83:The villa is quite a walk (huge stairs) to the sea side (15 mins). This walk is not recommended if you are traveling with small kids or when one is not fit. No cleaning took place while we stayed there (3 nights). It is out-dated, no air-conditioning.
Review 84:Arcachon is a beautiful village with a lot going on in Summer. A boat trip to Cap Ferret and a bike ride there is highly recommended.
Review 85:Great appartment in an excellent location in a wooded neighbourhood just ten minutes walk from the town centre of Arcachon. The ambiance and setting of the hotel ensured that it was quiet during the evenings with no traffic noise. There is ample private parking even during peak season. The building itself was very well maintained considering it's size and age. The appartment was clean on arrival and well stocked with cutlery and cooking utensils. The kitchen comprised of 2 hobs, a microwave and a dishwasher as well as a toaster and coffee machine. The bathroom and seperate toilet were both very clean and well appointed. All in all, a 5 star establishment that we will not be hesitating to revisit in the future.
Review 86:Everything was great! Location , staff, clean and spacy apartments, where you can find evrything you need for your stay, availability to leave rented bikes, attitude of the Management.very quiet and green area. nothing will disturb you . I recomend to everybody!
Review 87:Only really that it was a bit crumbly at the edges but I didn't mind this so much.
Review 88:The staff were exceptionally positive and friendly. The place was light and airy with lots of plants and good garden space. It felt like the hotel was family run with pride and the staff really understood and welcomed children and cared about their guests. It was a very peaceful location. The rooms were clean and well equipped and the beds were comfy. Our room on the first floor had large elegant windows on 3 sides and a balcony. There was a nice big conservatory area on the ground floor with a corner for kids with books and a few toys.
Review 89:One of the best hotels I have seen! Superb location at the luxury residential area, great apartments, big pool, very nice green surroundings - I will definitely recommend everybody coming to Arcachone to stay here!
Review 90:kept awake most of 1 night by rhythmic noise of sprinkler systems operating in the garden no sugar free cereal/muesli or 0% natural yogurt at breakfast rooms need modernising
Review 91:grandness of the building location of the building
Review 92:Rooms looking a little tired, although very serviceable.
Review 93:Great location, as although it seemed to be a distance from the shops and the beach, the walk was relatively short and the town lift made short work of the hill. A typical seaside hotel, with friendly staff.Plenty of space in the apartment for the three of us.
Review 94:- nothing
Review 95:+ room / apartment was spacious and had a kitchen + everything was clean + space to store the bicycles + quiet environment, about 5-10 minutes to town center with commerce and beach + staff was friendly, they cleaned the room for us when we arrived a bit early + good value for money
Review 96:It is a pity that waste-recycling is not encouraged by the townhall inResidences in general. No complaint at all concerning the hotel.
Review 97:The kindness of the staff, the well equipped kitchen, the facilities.
Review 98:Not within walking distance of town or beach.
Review 99:A beautiful building in the local style. Large, well equipped rooms, helpful staff and a good breakfast for an excellent price.
Review 100:Actual layout of the apartment was awkward; bedroom quite small;
Review 101:Location; the building itself; size of the apartment overall; standard of equipment provided (large refrigerator, coffee maker, cleaning products); free wi-fi; clothes airer;
Review 102:Other people banging doors and talking outside your room in the middle of the night. People's lack of consideration of others is a real strain!! Teach politeness in schools!!!!!!
Review 103:Been there before, like the way you are treated, like the staff, good location (when the Lift in the Park is working!). Given a great room. Thanks to the staff.
Review 104:It's a residnece, not an hotel, reception works only until 19, afterther isn't any support: we didn't have anybody to ask the wificode, or advices for dinner. Hairdryer is missing in the room
Review 105:Nice building, silent
Review 106:Nothing.
Review 107:Staff very friendly, entertaining with stories of the area. Very quiet and in a very nice neighborhood, easy access to city center yet outside.
Review 108:We would have appreciated thicker towels and better pillows.
Review 109:Exceptionally welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable reception. Breakfasts were especially enjoyable in the sunny dining room overlooking a beautiful mansion. Breakfasts were also good value & tasty--fresh pastry & bread, fresh fruit & yogurt, good coffee & selection of tea. Our studio was clean & spacious and quiet. Great location for visiting both ville d'hiver and ville l'ete and the waterfront.
Review 110:No Bar facilaties.Chairs in lounge area not comfortable, fine if you want to play cards, but not to read or relax.
Review 111:Studio appartment fully equipped. Staff very helpful and obliging. Hotelvery clean and excellent décor. Not suitable for young children, therefore hotel quite and peaceful.
Review 112:Personal opinion: I think it's a shame they painted all the window frames this awful modern turquoise green but that's just my opinion! In the room, a couple of the furniture pieces were a bit worn off and could use a lick of paint but the mattresses were excellent.
Review 113:Very lovely stay for 3 nights. We had a studio which was rather quite big and very well fitted. We really appreciated the kindness of all staff, always ready to help. They put a cot bed in our room for free and even give us a couple of extra towels. Lovely pool area, very quiet and clean. Great location , 10min walk from Arcachon Centre/Beach. And the region is just fabulous... would come back!
Review 114:Uncomfortable bed. Noisy fridge. Rooms could be updated. Price/quality ratio slightly too high.
Review 115:Location is great; quiet area yet walking distance to town centre and beach. Large car park. Vintage look of building.
Review 116:A bit more attention to the rooms and pool loungers. Our room was a bitsparse – double bed, small bedside tables, one single bed, table with 3chairs, 2 chest of drawers, separate loo to the bathroom. It did have adishwasher, toaster, microwave, 2 hot plates, fridge freezer (whichdidn’t really ‘fit’ in the room placed at the bottom of my daughter’sbed!) but no kettle, no a/c or fan, no safe, no hairdryer – but you canborrow one. Bathroom a bit on the small side, towels small and thin. Please fix the sun loungers.
Review 117:Character hotel divided into Studios and Appt but bit odd as you areexpected to do your own cleaning (or not as we didn't), so towels arenot changed nor toilet roll replaces. Good to have some kitchenfacilities as eating out is very expensive hence can do own breakfast, lunch and some dinners.Located about 15mins from sea front but pleasant enough stroll although not so good later uphill when the Park lift has stopped working at 10pm! Located in very nice area with other character buildings in the neighbouring streets. Wifi reception good in room. Pool area is nice however loungers are flimsy plastic and have broken just where you sit! Most uncomfortable – time these were fixed I think. Beaches not crowded and you can drive further down the coast for some more deserted ones. Make sure you visit Dunes du Pyla early for the least crowded experience – definitely worth going.
Review 118:Very authentic old Villa, in a very nice quite part of Arcachon and just 7Min walking from Arcachon beach. Very clean, very calm and good climate inside the hotel. 100% happy!!!
Review 119:I loved the carachter of the building and of the area. The lift to town was unique and the location was magnificent. We had self catering but wonderful market produce a few minutes walk away as well as shops. Ten minutes walk to lovely beach. Really enjoyable holiday in Arcachon
Review 120:It took us a couple of days to realize that this is an apartment hotelso you do your own cleaning during your stay - if you wish to!! Vacuumcleaners and all that are provided. Not an issue at all for us and roomwas immaculately clean on arrival - including all utensils and kitchenequipment.
Review 121:Very well placed - in quiet, smart, wooded area with large, eleganthouses and pretty gardens. Right behind the centre of Arcachon's mainrestaurant/shopping district and the esplanade and beach. Although inthe highest part of town, only a level walk through a small park to amost convenient lift down to street level - hence an easy genuine 10minute walk to the beach and less to restaurants etc. We had a largesouth facing room with very high ceilings - the hotel is a rather grandold building like a slightly faded stately home - a small balcony, agood bathroom with shower over the bath, a separate wc, and a wellequipped kitchen (large fridge/freezer, 2 ring electric stove, dishwasher, microwave, sink and drainer, and all the necessary equipmentincluding tea towels, washing up liquid, cloths etc. Dining table, coffee table and 4 chairs provided - it was a big room! Made the stayreally cheap because we bought food in the excellent indoor market intown and cooked 'at home'. Breakfast was included for us and well worthit - upmarket continental but with fruit, yoghurt, full range of teasand terrific coffee in a most pleasant light and airy dining room. Usedthe free pool to swim lengths and loungers for some sun. Staff were justgreat - all of them from cleaners to reception and dining room. Couldn'thave been more helpful and pleasant - some spoke English. We will gothere again because we love Arcachon and the Villa Regina makes anexcellent base - simple, friendly, a bit tired maybe in parts, but areal home from home
Review 122:An ideal base for visiting Arcachon town, the plages, Cap Ferrat and the Dune de Pyla. The hotel was exactly as described on the website. It is in a quiet location but walking distance to the centre of town. Parking was easy. The hotel swimming pool was a good size, well located and appointed. The breakfast was good quality and the dining room elegant. We would certainly return.
Review 123:We chose the hotel because of its good reputation, but it turned outto be disappointing. Building and facilities are quite old, so don'tlook clean, especially the carpet. Noboday changed our towel andrefilled toilet paper, and reception was close at 7pm, even thoughit's summer now, so when we came back from beach at 9pm, we have touse old towel for bath.
Review 124:Nice and quite neighborhood but around 15 minutes to Gare deArcachion. Friendly staff, who are willing to help, even though don'tspeak English.
Review 125:Residence is a grand old building not so grandly converted into anaparthotel in small and uneven grounds. Our room was adequate size witha kitchenette which did not include a kettle. Decor was uninspiring androom was not particularly clean. Park is shut early evening and walkingback from Town not easy unless fit and able.
Review 126:Location. Residence is situated behind the resort in a beautiful old andquiet residential area with good access to the main town and beach via awonderfully manicured park, (when open). The steep walk back from theresort can be difficult though . Not for the infirm or disabled. Hasgood parking.
Review 127:although the room was clean , the room and general hotel state need refurbishment. My room had an unpleasant stale odour all the time despite window being open.. it is hard to recommend this hotel for this price given the need for refurbishment.
Review 128:lovely old building in nice area of arcachon about 10mins from beach. nice gardens. Helpful reception staff.
Review 129:We paid 80 euros per night, plus extra local tax, plus extra forbreakfast; considering we were very early in the season, the price wasnot a bargain (but equally not a rip-off), especially I did not like theextra charge for breakfast. I have stayed in 4-5 star hotels for only asmall amount more. Small thing: No cheese on the breakfast buffet whichmy wife would have liked. Paid for bill with credit card and was givencredit card receipt but was not given itemised bill. Perhaps hotel mightconsider offering "welcome pack" for vistors arriving Sat evening?Apartment was self-catering but most supermarkets closed on Sundays.
Review 130:Lovely old building (large villa / chateau), with lovely gardens andpleasant surroundings. Staff very courteous and friendly. Apartmentdecor a little dated but spacious, clean and with large lcd tv. Nice butlimited (see below) continental buffet breakfasts (pastries, cereals andyoghurts, charged extra). A short, pleasant walk (for able-bodied peopleas quite a few steps) to the centre of town. Arcachon also very nicealthough town very quiet in the evenings; hardly anyone around town atnight (stayed early June Sat/Sun). Overall very pleasant and wouldconsider staying again at this hotel.
Review 131:This was the second time we stayed here and both times we were veryhappy with it. The first time we had the delicious breakfast every dayin a lovely room looking out to the very stylish local properties;plenty of choice for breakfast, filling us up til about 2.. This time wecatered for ourselves as the kitchenette had everything we needed, except a kettle so we brought our own. We brought friends with us thistime and they stayed in the next door studio; we had adjoining doors sowe could have a drink together and play scrabble in the evenings if wewere too tired to go out. We love the location of the Villa Regina asit's amongst the really stylish villas of Ville d'Hiver and an easy andlovely walk through the gardens then down in a lift to the road thatleads to the creamy and clean sandy beach. We would recommend stayinghere to anyone and will do so again in the near future.
Review 132:We have been travelling to France for over 40 years now and can honestly say this Hotel has been one of the best so far. The studio appartment was exactly what it says on the box and more, everything was provided and it was very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The Hotel is in a pleasant residential area and it is only a leisurely stroll into the centre of Arcachon. Would certainly stay there again.
