Reviews for Hotel Degerby
Review 1:Hotelroom with a minibar and a possibility to open the window for fresh air would have been perfect.
Review 2:The style, colours and decoration of the room and bathroom. Enough space. Possibility to stay until 12.
Review 3:No restaurant but they told there was one on the web and in hotel. Very hot in the room no air condition . No possibility to get back money for no use of the room
Review 4:It was somewhat cold in the room, although it was not too cold outside.
Review 5:It is a fine hotel, about an hour to drive to Helsinki. There is not much to be seen in Loviisa. However at summer time it offers some interesting options.
Review 6:It was quite hot in the room (despite moderate 20+ outside) and there was haunting smell of detergents. Windows location is too low, so you need to keep children away when it's open. In my opinion, the hotel is more suitable for business travelers. We will rather try some country B&B next time.
Review 7:Convenient location and parking. Breakfast is ok. Cycling around was nice.
Review 8:The room was so hot! We tried keeping the window open but that did not help. Luckily we had a small fan because without this we would have been forced to stay out all night. Worst night ever!
Review 9:The breakfast was decent
Review 10:Next to the entrance and at the backyard sitting place, they were not cleaning the tables from the glasses and ashtrays were full. From the afternoon till the following morning everything was at the same place!
Review 11:The room no fridge. Free sauna with a separate visit at inconvenient hours - it's just moveton. Bad sound insulation - when neighbors wash in the shower at 6 am, there is a feeling that they are doing it in your room.
Review 12:Good location. Unobtrusive and helpful staff. Decent breakfast. Convenient parking. Near shops, restaurants, a marina with great street pub. Not a bad option for a transit stopover in Scandinavia.
Review 13:cozy. clean. quiet.
Review 14:extraneous noises from other late night venue but unavoidable as we liked to keep the window open
Review 15:central in the town
Review 16:Friendly and helpful staff
Review 17:Superb breakfast, nice personnel, support for the gluten-free-needy, highly recommendable
Review 18:Windows can't open
Review 19:Breakfast
Review 20:No aircon and freezer!
Review 21:Place
Review 22:Should be able to connect more than two gadgets to Internet.
Review 23:The location and breakfast.
Review 24:Buzzing fridge in the room
Review 25:Friendly staff, wonderful family room, clean and quiet place, location at the very centre of Loviisa (close to everything), good kitchen. The staff were very attentive and nice to our 2 y.o. toddler)) Free parking as an additional bonus.
Review 26:no free wi-fi in rooms; no international news channels on TV; when the shower is on, water is all around the bathroom floor
Review 27:quite place; good breakfast; not too expensive as compared to other hotels in Finland; convenient location on the way to Helsinki; spacious free parking; friendly and responsive staff
Review 28:The bed (double) in bedroom is very uncomfortable: size is 1.5, construction is not stable (shaking), the mattress is too soft for two adults (like sleeping in hammock). The refrigerator (minibar) is very noisy - I had to turn it off otherwise not possible to sleep.
Review 29:Location is very good - close to road E18. It's easy to find the hotel and easy to go to motorway again without loosing the time due to good traffic interchange. Comfortable parking place. Possibility to have late dinner, we had it at 23:00. Tasty food in restaurant. The town is very quiet. The room is big and comfortable.
Review 30:A standart room was stuffy and there was no conditioner.
Review 31:Good location, friendly stuff, normal breakfasts, very good dinners, quiet place, beautiful nature
Review 32:nothing,all OK!
Review 33:Conveniet location, friendly and helpful staff,a varied breakfast and exellent dinner at the hotel restaurant, attentive maids. In my opinion, Degerby is the best hotel in Loviisa.
Review 34:- no tea/coffee facilities
Review 35:- there is private parking place; - in the city center; - neat and cosy hotel; - if you book 3 person's room for two adults and 2 children, think of booking an extra bed, though I don't know if it is really possible to add one (the room is not too big). We did not do that, so it was a bit of tight space to sleep comfortably.
Review 36:We stayed here during annual Backyard festival which takes place in Zilton (other side of the road). It's a centre and quite nice place. Breakfast was really good. Liked staying in this hotel and will back some day.
Review 37:The room was stuffy on a very hot day (no a/c). Not helped by a larger retail-style fridge rather than the usual mini-bar (we pulled the plug on it).
Review 38:Good location in a pleasant little town about an hour east of Helsinki, just off the main road. Dinner in the restaurant was tasty, but not particularly good value for money.
Review 39:Wifi was not free at the room (only at one computer in the main lobby). The personnel did not speak Swedish (only English and Finnish (altohough Lovisa is an age-old Swedish-speaking town).
Review 40:An excellent place for its value, right at the central square. The personnel is young and friendly, the parking lot is at the back yard, breakfasts were just OK. The room was clean and comfortable.
Review 41:No Tea/Coffee making facilities in room. Drinks are a little pricey but that is Finland in general. No Aircon in Rooms but did have Fan and one window you can open (Temps did get up to 30' a couple of days I was there)
Review 42:Staff were Very Good. Everything in hotel is Clean and Serviceable. Breakfast were good. Computer in Lobby Free to use to check E-mails etc. Rooms are Sparse but Practical.
Review 43:this time we were in Family room. 2 separate rooms in number is good for parents and children. But its too stuffy air there. open window for all night with children is not an option. the fringe was too loud and near kids sofa, we had to turn it off.
Review 44:all good as always
Review 45:The width of single person beds is not for really big guys)
Review 46:Very good location and nice city for one night occupation. The rooms are not new but clear and the price is very interesting too.
Review 47:Hotel is a little worn-out. Doesn't look very old, but not fresh either. Although in other world it is already 21st century, it has not reached Loviisa yet. To have the internet you have to pay 15 EUR per day!!!
Review 48:Hotel is located in Loviisa. If you have a business in the area, there are no many places to choose from. I think it is more or less the best choice you can have if staying in the area. There is a free parking in the hotel yard. It is located on the main street of a town but it is not a great benefit as there is nothing to do anyway :)
Review 49:Shaby furniture, greasy, dirty armchair, no coffee-tea facilities in the room. Thin walls - could hear our neighbours. Very modest breakfast - fruit salade was not fresh, had an awfull taste and odor. Hotel is overpriced.
Review 50:Location, private free parking. Very good sauna.in the evening.
Review 51:I didn't like the way, they took money from my credit card, whilebooking.I Was going to pay cash.Never met such distrust!
Review 52:Quiet, cosy and peaceful hotel with a flexible pricing policies.Friendlystaff, no complaints about the service.
Review 53:No air conditioning in the room, it was too hot in the night, openwindows didn't help. We paid for a room for 3 adults, but got a room fortwo with an extra bed which was uncomfortable to sleep. Staff was realy"steamed" and unfriendly in the evening.
Review 54:Very cozy hotel, the kitchen is open untill late (22:30).
Review 55:No airconditioning. Very small windows. Sofabed was extremely uncomfortable Double bed was uncomfortable + no window in that room! Breakfast in weekend only from 8am. Breakfast not very extensive. Shower floods the bathroom. Needs redecorating.
Review 56:Reception was good, friendly staff. Big family room
Review 57:No air conditioning, and just one small window can be opened (other windiows in our room had no handles). WiFi in the room costs 15 euros for 24H, what is too much (however, free wifi is accissible in the bar and tiny lobby downstairs). Anyway, in general the hotel is nice.
Review 58:Comfortably located, with free parking in the backyard. Clean and cosy. Breakfast is rich.
Review 59:Opening hours for sauna could be more flexible. There was one hour forwomen (18-19) and one for men (19-20).
Review 60:Really nice hotel in very centre of Loviisa. Nicely renovated and veryclean place. Half board option was available with really small extraprice and it was positive surprise: 10-15 meal options to choose from ala carta type of list and with very flexible timing (until 22.30). Goodsauna, which was absolutely plus after long cycling day.
Review 61:The airconditioning was turned off in the night with very stuffy air asa result. Motorbikes outdoors hindered opening of windows The breakfastwas not very good
Review 62:Location Friendly staff
Review 63:I like it, location is very good on market square and easy walk to seaside and the old town. Loviisa is really idyllic coastal town and hotelDegerby clean and nice and also good food.Best regards Ismo Johansson Helsinki
Review 64:The room was a bit old and could use a renovation, especially the beds. The bathroom was small and dark. Didn't like that I couldn't open thewindow entirely.
