Reviews for Hotel La Casa
Review 1:We actually have a wonderful night there, however, since the space isquite large, I would like to suggest that the owner could add one moreheating facility in the living room.
Review 2:The family room is very nice, best view, large space and verynice bathroom.
Review 3:Lovely spanish town, very quiet the hotel was located off the main square within walking distance of the sea front with the mountains behind. located 45 minutes from Malaga airport and 10 minutes to Nerja. Food was excellent also the food in the square. All the staff and owners of the hotel were extremely nice and very helpful.
Review 4:See above.
Review 5:The place was in a great location and very nicely decorated with lovely views. My advice would be to suggest having coffee making facilities in room, more towels. Having said that there was a kitchen upstairs should we need it. Great people, really helpful guiding us 're attractions.
Review 6:Not a bad experience by any means but just wished there had been tea/coffee facilities in the room for an early morning cuppa. Facilities available on the upstairs terrace but would have preferred in room, even at a charge. Repeat not a complaint.
Review 7:Beautiful hotel. Beautiful room. Beautiful views. Helpful owners. Torrox is a perfect Spanish village. Peace and quiet but also a typical Spanish plaza with a few nice restaurants serving good food, tapas and drinks at very fair prices. Highly recommended. The standards at the hotel certainly made our stay ideal.
Review 8:Neil and Sarah run a beautiful hidden gem of a hotel in a beautiful spanish village. The rooms are beautifully simple and the whole place has a friendly homely feel. The restaurant in the square has great food and a great atmosphere and we couldn't fault a thing
Review 9:No English TV, bed to hard, breakfast not all that for 8 Euros. Dust on all the furniture and under the bed, stain on the chair cushion and no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.noisy late at night.
Review 10:Nice bathroom, aircon, view from window.
Review 11:The location is fantastic, the management friendly, helpful and you are made to feel 'at home' during your stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfasts good and a visit to the owners restaurant an absolute must too. if you want to see the real Spain rather than the 'British' Spain, then you must visit Torrox and stay at La Casa.
Review 12:A little noisy during the day due to a few repairs but overall worth it. We will definitely return.
Review 13:Neil was great and we loved our stay...Specially the views! We went down to the coast and went to Nerja and caves from here easily.
Review 14:Towels were hard and crisp. A minor niggle on an otherwise excellent experience.
Review 15:Beautifully positioned, spotlessly clean. A little oasis. Torrox is a delightful pueblo to visit and stay for a few days to experience something different from the typical beach holiday although the beach is just ten minutes away. Will definitely visit again.
Review 16:Patchy wifi. Our double room could do with a towel rail for two towels, after use. Only one hook on the back of the door.
Review 17:The staff and the room with a view.
Review 18:The fact that we had to go out of the hotel and walk about 300 meters to the restaurant also the fact that we could not put the bill for our dinners on to my hotel bill. The toilet seat. Lack of tea / coffee making facilities in the room The lumpy bed. No car parking nearby (overnight parking cost me 33-60 euros)
Review 19:The friendly and helpful staff/owners. The food in the restaurant. Cleanliness.
Review 20:Going back to La Casa is like a visit to see friends. Sarah, Karen and Neil are never less than completely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Love the place and love the people.
Review 21:A mistake, probably, but we had no hot water for a shower for an evening or the next morning...
Review 22:Great room Great views Very nice and helpful owners Lovely location in a proper Spanish town, but a pleasant walk to the beach!
Review 23:Nothing at all.
Review 24:Neil,Sara and Karen were very friendly and made our trip feel like we were visiting friends. Hotel refreshing and quite spacious for a small hotel. Food very good and great views from room and terrace.
Review 25:Very difficult to find anything we didn't like. If pushed, then the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the room, although this is fairly usual in Spanish hotels and didn't affect us as we took our own.
Review 26:Small but beautiful family run hotel, close to the centre of the village. Warm and friendly owners who couldn't have been more helpful. Fantastic food, very clean and comfortable. Beautiful views of the valley from our room and the terrace. An honesty bar with spirits, chilled soft drinks, water and beer available all day.
Review 27:400 metre walk to car park (can drop off luggage at the hotel door)
Review 28:Easy stroll to the lively plaza for the evening. Authentic village atmosphere with a mix of tourists. Very peaceful at night.
Review 29:Bed a little hard and a/c noisy.
Review 30:Great views, staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 31:everything! The question next says what didn't we like... we didn't like leaving!
Review 32:The hotel was decorated to a high standard also facilities where good, very friendly
Review 33:Superb hotel and very friendly helpful staff. Excellent restaurant with the best fillet steak I've had for a long time!
Review 34:nothing
Review 35:Excellent hotel, well run ,friendly capable staff, great location
Review 36:We had an amazing view from our room. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was excellent.
Review 37:n/a
Review 38:Facilities, food, drinks and staff first class nothing to much trouble.
Review 39:There was no terrace with the room, only a communal terrace.
Review 40:position of hotel with wonderful views over the mountains.
Review 41:Beautiful boutique hotel run by a lovely English family team. Lovely terrace with stunning views and an honesty bar.
Review 42:The owners were lovely, very helpful and considerate. The hotel is ideally placed in the village, near to main Plaza.
Review 43:wifi a bit in and out. no big deal.
Review 44:so nice and helpful. cant recommend enough.
Review 45:Everything
Review 46:No map of village provided. Staff indifferent to this need
Review 47:Availability of free parking Terrace
Review 48:Difficult to find
Review 49:Lovely small hotel in the centre of Torrox pueblo, modern feel to it, good food
Review 50:We stayed in the Toreador room, which was well appointed, very clean - but felt cramped. There was insufficient room to walk round the end and side of the bed and my husband kept banging his elbow on the bedside table. We thought the price (65euros) was about 15e too much especially as there was no breakfast included.
Review 51:The Owners of this small family run hotel gave us a warm welcome and were very attentive to our needs. The restaurant food was delicious and the portions were excellent - definitely worth future visits.
Review 52:We had some problems parking due to a new pedestrianisation scheme and parking restrictions introduced shortly before our stay, but these were resolved. Parking is now in a free car park located 5 minutes walk from the hotel - but be careful not to park in the area reserved for vans ('Excepto Furgonetas')
Review 53:Warm welcome on arrival. Beautifully designed small family run hotel, very tastefully decorated, with fantastic view over the valley from bedroom. Excellent location near the centre of the village, with easy access to bars and restaurants. Ideal place to stay for travellers who want to avoid big hotels on the coast, and for visitors wanting to experience real Andalusian village.
Review 54:The hotel boasts room service, and I'm sure the managers/owners would be happy to provide it, BUT - there is no 'phone in the room to order anything, so you have to go downstairs for it anyway. VERY English. Visitors from other countries might not feel they're really in Spain at all. Sound insulation could be better, but the traditional building style probably makes it difficult.
Review 55:This is a family run hotel, they take obvious pride in it and are genuinely friendly and helpful. For a small village like Torrox, their dinner menu is surprisingly good, so make a point of eating in at least once. They are English, and English seems to be very much the language of the hotel, which makes life all too easy for English guests who feel challenged by the prospect of Spanish customs and language.(I wonder - should that be a negative?) A very tranquil spot with wonderful views across the valley. We hope to return soon.
Review 56:Rooms are rather small - but well equipped. Some beds are quite narrowand matrasses rather firm. No parking in front of hotel - but within 500- 1000 meter you can park inside the village.
Review 57:Hotel La Casa is situated in the white village Torrox Pueblo - but stillquite close to the sea and beaches. You get the best of 2 worlds. Youstay in a cosy, traditional white village with local life with beautifulview of scenery and mountains in quiet surroundings - and are not faraway from both beaches and mountains. A good base for exploring the areawhich is less crowded and more beautiful than the busy tourist areas andMalaga. The hosts Neil, Sarah and Karen are very nice and take good careof you. Good in-house restaurant. Excellent roof terrace where we hadour breakfast ( October ) every morning.
Review 58:comfortable
Review 59:Excellent hotel, well managed serving great food in a quiet location in the village with great views from the terrace. Would diffinretly stay again
Review 60:Peace & tranquility Customer service & hospitality
