Reviews for Hotel Al-Andalus

Review 1:My stay was extremely comfortable. Astrid and Jan made went out of their way to make the stay an excellent one. Will definitely stay there again. They even made sure that I have fresh breakfast. Prepared it as I was ready to eat. Amazing service. The views from the hotel balcony were beautiful. Total experience 10/10.

Review 2:Would have liked a view of the mountains.

Review 3:situated right in the heart of this pretty village, close to bars and restaurants.Very nice furnishings in the room.

Review 4:What didn't I like!!! This is NOT a 2 star hotel, the place was IMMACULATE, very well serviced, the breakfast was excellent and the owners are just lovely people! 5 STAR SERVICE, should be at least a 3 Star Rating!!..at least!

Review 5:the shower was unusable but I understand that it is now being attended to. We were only staying two nights so did not say anything until we were leaving, which, perhaps, was wrong of me.

Review 6:The location is perfect to see the umbrellas and for the main square and cafes

Review 7:more information on parking would have been useful

Review 8:location is great. very near bars and restaurants but in a very quiet spot. owner and staff very pleasant and helpful. Very good value for money.

Review 9:When we arrived we were given no information about anything eg wifi, breakfast times, local info etc. There were no towels and when we asked for some we were offered damp towels. No hospitality at all.

Review 10:Really close to the local plaza.

Review 11:The car park is a bit of a trek especially with suitcases. But parking is free.

Review 12:The staff are welcoming and helpful. The continental breakfast was ample and varied and the self service made it possible to have as much, or as little, as you wanted. The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the main Plaza where there are bars and shops.

Review 13:One thing only - the parking rules had changed in the public car park so when we parked on the left as usual we were given a ticket

Review 14:The friendly atmosphere and the breakfasts. Loli especially went out of her way to find us leche fraise in the morning. The view across the mountain and the night time star gazing from the patio were lovely.

Review 15:Have been before so are used to the very narrow streets and the parking problems. This year found a free car park very close by so a whole lot easier

Review 16:Balcony looking out to hills and mountains beyond at sunrise. Lift always a bonus Wonderful square for meals and tapas at night, very lively and good atmosphere

Review 17:sweet little hotel run by a lovely couple !!!!

Review 18:It was in a very quiet location and the staff were great and very flexible as we arrived late. Very good value for money

Review 19:Fine location for us touring around. Hosts Jan and Astrid very genial and helpful

Review 20:lovely couple. Ideal location, Parking in car park down road Comfortable in every way

Review 21:Close by our home ;-)

Review 22:I wanted to stay in the village as I have family there, & I also wanted a Spanish hotel . I enjoyed my stay there & hope to stay again.

Review 23:The bathroom smelled of smoke every morning.

Review 24:Location was good for my needs. Room faced the valley and was very peaceful.

Review 25:Supply of Bath and Hand Towels was hit & miss. Two some days, three or four next days.

Review 26:Small friendly hotel in good location.

Review 27:Minor points; No soap in bathroom Coffee/tea making in room would be appreciated

Review 28:Excellent value for a 2 star hotel

Review 29:Small hotel, very clean, friendly / welcoming staff.

Review 30:Wi-fi was a bit doggy and it would benefit form some extra hooks in the en-suite for your towels to dry up.Not a big problem any of those though.

Review 31:The entrance, the surroundings, the size of the room, value for money and above all the friendly and generous attitude of Carmen and her husband the owners. We will certainly recommend it!

Review 32:Everything was excellent.

Review 33:This is an amazing little hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were of a very high standard, much better than some 4star hotels we've been to. Continental breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly. Would definitely go back to this hotel. The village (Torrox Pueblo) had everything you need, shops & excellent restaurants. Lots of great walks & only a few minutes to the coast at Torrox Costa, it's a lovely walk to the coast or you can take the bus from the village. Highly recommended this hotel & amazing value. £138 for 4 nights! (for 2 people) in June

Review 34:There was only one extra blanket and no extra pillows. Used the blanket to roll under pillow and would have expected the staff to pick up on this. Had to ask for extra pillow.

Review 35:Ideally placed, within 5 mins walk to Torrox Pueblo Plaza. Staff were very helpful and tended to our needs. Rooms had Air Conditioning which made it a very comfortable stay.

Review 36:Breakfast room was cold. It could maybe do with some quite music in the background. No hot breakfast. No soap in room, only small liquid shower gel- no good for washing your hands.no problem though to buy a bar of soap

Review 37:Staff wete very friendly, we wete given a warm welcome, a bottle of wine & 2 glasses, that was a nice touch. Hotel was very homely and decor was really nice, authentic andalucian. Little terrace looking into mountains was lovely. I Would certainly go back again.

Review 38:The breakfast room was in the lower floor. It would have been great if they had a terrace outside, so we could have eaten outside in the nice September wheather. We missed a sunshade on the terrace on the 2nd floor, as it was impossible to sit there in the mornings.

Review 39:Very nice owners, in the centre of Torrox Pueblo. We were a group of friends who staid at the hotel in connection with a celebration of our friend's 60th birthday. The owner was so impressed about all us Norwegians coming to Torrox to celebrate our Norwegian friend, so they placed a bottle of red wine in each of the rooms. We found this to be a very gentle gest. The female owner was also very interested in what our plans were each day, in order to help us have a nice stay. The aircon was fine and the free WiFi, too. The breakfast was good with a choice of cheese, ham, serrano, jam, eggs and fruit. Good choice of juices also and good, strong coffee. They also have a terrasce on the 2nd floor, which our group of friendes used before going for dinner on one of the nice restaurants on the plaza.

Review 40:No garage facility meant a 10 minute walk to the village multi-story carpark. The public balcony area was taken by a group of rather noisy people and there was no other lounge area to sit if you don't want to stay in the bedroom.

Review 41:Clean and well appointed room decorated in a modern but with a Spanish feel. The staff were friendly without being gushy. The hotel was ideally placed two hundred metres from the popular Torrox Plaza.

Review 42:The only very small problem was the noisy extraxtor fan in thebathroom, use the light over the mirror only and it does not comeon!!Had a fair walk from car park to get up to hotel, would not be easyfor older people

Review 43:The situation in the hills was perfect for us,a small white"town" very typically Spanish, friendly locals, did not feelthreatened at night, narrow streets, plenty of ventas and good food andwine.Wi Fi was very useful

Review 44:The bed was a bit hard and noise carried.

Review 45:The breakfast was fresh and very good. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and courteous. The location was just what I wanted.

Review 46:I liked the location of the hotel and it was spotless. The owners werefriendly and althought they spoke a little English, I enjoyed trying toconverse with them in Spanish!

Review 47:Nothing I did not like.

Review 48:Location in lovely village, made to feel very welcome by the family owners, travelled on my own this time to see what the area was like in December (not dissapointed) felt comfortable in hotel never felt I had to go out, lazy morning on the terrace with a coffee and paper/ ipadi the sunshine, relaxed. Very clean and tidy

Review 49:I can't really find fault with the hotel. It would be nice to have a safe in the room, but with such value for money it is unfair to expect more!

Review 50:The Hotel Al-Andalus is situated in a convenient position close to the main square. I first stayed there in May when in Torrox on a painting holiday. I loved the quirky Spanish atmosphere. It is very reasonably priced with clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast is simple but plentiful I returned for two nights last week with my husband. He fell in love with it too. If we are in that part of Spain in the future we shall certainly try and spend some more time at the Al Andalus.

Review 51:Mattress quit hard. Shower head needs replacement. No hair-dryer. A bit far from parking but had a few nice walks thru the beautiful town and we did know this when we booked at this hotel.

Review 52:Nice breakfast included. Great charm and nice little details. Good price. Good functioning air-conditioning.

Review 53:Great spot and very nice room. Minimal extras (toiletries, hair dryeretc) but spotlessly clean & tastefully furnished. Good breakfastselection and stunning views from the terrace. I would stay here again.

Review 54:I have the same problem with this hotel in Spain as I do with them all. Coffe and tea making facilities should be made available in the rooms, but then I'm British and it seems to be a British thing. Still searching for the one hotel in Spain that provides this...if there ever is one to be found.

Review 55:What a fabulous find!! This place may not have close parking but the place itself makes up for that in spades!! The attention to detail is just amazing. Very comfortable room. Very soothing atmosphere, great continental breakfast. very close to the main square of Torrox Pueblo, so easy to get in amongst the thick of it all. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to get away to a peaceful place and just relax. Go on, give it a try. Would definitely use this hotel again if ever back in the area.

Review 56:We had a room at the front on the first floor. However the noise from occasional cars and motor bikes late at night was very disturbing.

Review 57:It is located in an old Spanish village with some tourist interest and about 10min drive from the local beach. The room was clean and a good standard for the price (~55Eur).

Review 58:It is a small hotel in an old arabian village, narrow streets and white houses. That's nice. People you are meeting are very kind.

Review 59:The friendly staff The quiet relaxing atmosphere

Review 60:מגרש חניה רחוק, 300 מטר מהמלון. הצוות נחמד אך אינו מדבר שפה זרה.

Review 61:ביחס למחר המלון מצוין.

Review 62:Nothing

Review 63:The terrace was lovely as was the staff

Review 64:Friendly, clean and very central hotel. Quite basic but great for a couple of nights.

Review 65:Towels were poor Lack of drawer space

Review 66:The owners/staff Position/location Comfy bed Plenty of hot water OK breakfast

Review 67:Very traditional Spanish but modern facilities. Great value for money.Spotlessly clean. Good breakfast, great coffee.

Review 68:Nothing!

Review 69:The owners. Breakfast. Excellent airconditioning/heating. Strong wifi signal. Position.

Review 70:A liitle more lighting in the room

Review 71:Location Staff Room

Review 72:Great!!!!! What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful village with beautiful views and a beautiful service.
