TRH Ciudad de Baeza descritpion

Originally a 16th-century convent for The Nuns of the Carmelitas order, this hotel rests in the historic quarter of Baeza, a dreamlike place where time seems to stand still.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Baeza has preserved the Renaissance-style architecture which flourished during the city's prosperity in the 16th century. El Palacio de Jabalquinto was built in this period. A decorative facade contains an attractive inner courtyard with baroque-style marble columns and intricately decorated stairways.
Rooms at TRH Baeza surround the cloister of the former convent, quiet, peaceful spaces with elegant decoration and modern facilities. At Señorío de Baeza restaurant, enjoy international cuisine infused with the traditional ingredients of Jaen. Gluten-free menus are available on prior request. The hotel also has a cafeteria and meeting rooms.

Reviews for TRH Ciudad de Baeza

Review 1:The perfect example for mass-tourism: impersonal rooms, bad services, poor breakfast, no charm. Only the dimension of the rooms qualifies this hotel to be 4*

Review 2:Location, the dimension of the room, average cleanliness.

Review 3:Like most TRY facilities it is in need of upgrading it's maintenance. High whining noise in room, unable to locate, had to switch rooms. Came for hot tub, not working. Reasonable value for the money.

Review 4:Great location although a bit hard to find. Facilities are good. Breakfast is excellent.

Review 5:Hotel was very "standard" in all respects; rooms a little uninspired and dingy (but clean), bar and restaurant just OK and not encouraging relaxation and enjoyment for their own sake; nothing to differentiate the hotel from any other in its class.

Review 6:Decent hotel in very good location, close to the centre of town, plus a garage. Bar and central courtyard is right by reception area. Our bedroom was fine, reasonably large and had the plus of a separate dining/lounge area, not that this was of any use for a one night stop. Staff were helpful and friendly. Fairly poor English at reception (in comparison to most Spanish hotels - far superior to my Spanish)

Review 7:The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of town in easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Reasonably priced offering modest, but none the less clean, comfortable accommodation with helpful staff and an adequate breakfast. Extra charge for underground parking on-site, but beware it's a very tight squeeze!

Review 8:Loose wooden floors caused noise. My room very small with little storage. WiFi not reliable in the room or at reception. I thought it expensive.

Review 9:Secure parking and excellent central location in beautiful city. Easy to find with Satnav. Breakfast looked good although I didn't have it. Plentiful hot water and nice towels.

Review 10:The awful coffee machine. Luke warm coffee, that was reasonable in taste, but cold in seconds.

Review 11:Big comfy beds in spacious quiet rooms let me sleep like a baby. Big chain buffet breakfast, shame about the coffee machine. Excellent staff, there when you needed them. The quality local artwork displayed helped remove the corporate chain feel. Good stuff it was too.

Review 12:nothing to report

Review 13:A good welcoming hotel, with large rooms and big bathrooms. I loved the hot baths after cold days travelling and sightseeing. Receptionists all helpful. Free wifi works well. Clean everywhere, big garage (best for small cars though, since the entrance is on a fairly narrow side street and it's a hard turn to get in). I didn't use the cafe or restaurant so cannot comment. Baeza (and nearby Ubeda) are charming cities for a 2 day visit, and welcoming everywhere. They are quite safe and easy to move around. However, don't drive in them; walk and take the frequent bus between the two cities. The medieval streets are complicated.

Review 14:All was good

Review 15:Fantastic courtyard for enjoying a drink. Good central location some parking on street but for a small charge the hotel has its own parking. Interesting town but can be seen in a day. Good buffet style breakfast included.

Review 16:Hotel entrance area very cold and not at all welcoming. Having an empty minibar with a note saying if you want anything contact reception is a bit silly. Either provide a stocked bar or don't bother at all.

Review 17:Excellent location within easy walking distance of the main sights. Very spacious room with very good bathroom facilities. Beautiful central courtyard area. Good selection of both hot and cold dishes at breakfast.Hotel parking at a reasonable rate was a bonus.

Review 18:The access in was blocked by reconstruction in the side lane but we realise that it was not a long term problem and beyond the control of the Hotel.

Review 19:The receptionist was very friendly and took time to explain the places we should see in Baeza. It is very well situated within a few meters of the centre of town. Having their own secure car parking underground was very good. A very friendly, clean and convenient place to stay.

Review 20:Road works affecting access (during our stay), having to vie with coach groups at buffet breakfast

Review 21:Modern well equipped rooms (we did opt for the larger room); comfortable; early breakfast; underground car parking; attractive public areas such as courtyard

Review 22:It is situated within walking distance of all the historic sights. Although t the hotel has a restaurant there are bars and restaurant close by. There is on-site parking so no need to use the car unless you are visiting nearby Ubeda. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Buffet style breakfast had plenty of choice - though no hot food. The staff were welcoming. Overall there was nothing negative to say about this hotel.

Review 23:The whole experience was like a new adaptation of "The Shining". The hotel seemed to be completely empty, yet the staff informed us that there is only one other room available. Add to this the tiny windows, the wi-fi going on and off and a forever empty patio and you have an unforgettable visit... Plus, absolutely terrible coffee in the mornings.

Review 24:it is very quiet; big bathrooms with a great selection of toiletries; comfortable beds; not far from the bus station or the main attractions, but might be hard to find

Review 25:We were driving in our own 4x4 but the underground garage, whilst very secure, was extremely difficult to turn into from a narrow one way street.

Review 26:Very central position but rooms a bit dated. Excellent bathroom and restaurant. Helpful staff but not all english speaking.

Review 27:clean convenient professional

Review 28:Wi-Fi slow or non-existent. Expensive compare to some other hotels we booked with you

Review 29:Location. Nice staff.

Review 30:Wifi pretty pathetic Push button coffee machine at breakfast - nothing like the coffee you can get on the street

Review 31:Comfortable room Garage parking

Review 32:Location

Review 33:no table prepared for breakfast no cutlery no staff had to go to look for staff no wwifi in room very poor to last stay

Review 34:staff very good on reception

Review 35:Entrance to car park very difficult to get out.

Review 36:Beautiful buildings and history of town.

Review 37:drain smell in the bathroom which permeated the bedroom.

Review 38:Spacious suite, large balcony, good breakfast

Review 39:Found the bed a little on the harks side.

Review 40:Provided me with Gluten Free baguette for breakfast. Car parking on site, free Wifi

Review 41:Room very warm, noisy with window open, slow internet, rest of room basic

Review 42:Location, building set-up. The place has potential. Friendly staff, clean.

Review 43:I had no dislikes

Review 44:We had a wonky shower that cleaned the ceiling

Review 45:The situation was perfect. Breakfast was good and the room comfortable. The staff were very helpful.

Review 46:The quality of breakfast (coffee, juices, cakes, etc.) could be a bit better

Review 47:Location - superb. Breakfast - abundant. Quiet and clean.

Review 48:lots of places to visit fab tapas bar LA PENA BAR EXCELLENT TAPAS 5 STAR ON SQUARE

Review 49:Parking was a disaster.

Review 50:Easy to walk to sights.

Review 51:Very hot room. AC did not work....

Review 52:Parking under the hotel and central location

Review 53:Beds were very uncomfortable. It's not a four start hotel.

Review 54:Good location.

Review 55:Location Value for money

Review 56:access to parking was difficult

Review 57:Good central location with on site parking. Comfortable room with good breakfast included in price

Review 58:Problem trying to find the entrance for the garage complicated

Review 59:We were upgraded to superia room after a long journey from uk it was abonus to relax and HAve the massage bath

Review 60:The receptionist wasn't sure if they had an iron, which we did get eventually, but we didn't get an ironing board. Otherwise, the staff was helpful and very welcoming.

Review 61:We loved the air conditioning and WiFi which worked without a hitch. The bathroom had awesome hot water and the beds were comfy.

Review 62:Absence of tea and coffee facilities in room. No English TV channels.

Review 63:We liked the Menu del dia in the evening. We liked it's central position in the town. The pictures on the walls, by a local Artist were very interesting. Huge, comfy bed.

Review 64:nothing

Review 65:Very comfortable hotel in the heart of this quiet small town surrounded by olive plantations. Tasty food, OK breakfast. Friendly staff. We found Baeza an interesting place to visit (preferred it to its slightly bigger neighbour Úbeda). For a town of this size Baeza has to offer a considerable number of historic buildings. However, most of all we trasured that it still has maintained its original charmes and does not try to be like any other town full of chain stores. Great views over olive tree landscapes from the edge of the town.

Review 66:Room was very small, especially for a family. Expected much bigger room based on Booking.com description

Review 67:Location just around the corner from main town square and main attractions.

Review 68:nothing to dislike

Review 69:general appearance of the hotel, the clever preservation and adaption of the ancient monastery. rooms and staff 1st class. Baeza is a gem, not to be missed.

Review 70:The room was quite dark and sparsely furnished No tea/coffee making facilities in the room We went in early November and so probably did not see it at its best as it is the end of the season. It was very quiet which we liked.

Review 71:The central location was excellent. The restaurant was very good value for money and the staff extremely attentive and helpful

Review 72:Hard bed. No chair in room. Breakfast poor. Coffee machine delt out hot water and milk but without coffee. It needed filling up. Very cold hard boiled eggs. Bar staff talking to friend at bar instead of looking to see who wanted serving.

Review 73:Very poor accessibility. Approach by road through one-way narrow streets with no clear drop-off area at the hotel. No street-level access, steps up from street.

Review 74:Good location for nearness to tourist sights, i.e. Renaissance architecture and churches

Review 75:On arrival in our room we went to have a glass of water and one of the glasses was dirty. The mini bar fridge was empty. We went for the beer and tapas as offered on menu on tables in bar and were told there was no beer on tap (only bottles) and the chef was not there till 8.30 so no tapas. Staff were polite but not friendly. We arrived for breakfast at 8am and it was a shamble only one table left set and it was for eight. We placed our drinks on this table and went to get breakfast from the buffet. When we went back to the table our drinks had been cleared away even although the tables around were vacated but used utensils had not been removed. The service was poor with most things being automated especially the drinks. For a 4* hotel it was very poor. All in all we were very disappointed with the hotel.

Review 76:We liked the town of Baeza and the hotels location in the town was very good. We also liked the fact that the hotel had parking and a free safe deposit box in the room. The beds were comfortable.

Review 77:Nothing.

Review 78:Baeza was a lovely little place and worth a visit. The hotel is a converted monastery and very tasteful. The meals and drinks are very reasonably priced for a hotel.

Review 79:They had a scary parking garage that was not easy to access . Recommend night parking in the underground parking near the Plaza de la Constitution, even one euro cheaper and close to the hotel.

Review 80:The hotel was in a perfect location, the staff was friendly, the decor very tasteful, the bar was very nice and the breakfast was fabulous. Much better to stay there than in Ubeda.

Review 81:It's below the standard of cleanliness required. The room smelled as cleaned with a dirty cloth (humidity). For sure it wasn't cleaned througtly. I found dirty clothes of previous guests. Towels, bed sheets and cover are below standard for a budget hotel.

Review 82:I like the staff friendliness.

Review 83:Entrance and exit from the car park was extremely difficult and narrow.

Review 84:Good bar/restaurant for lunch or evening meals and drinks at fair prices. Underground parking as street places were very scarce.

Review 85:Hotel is/feels old despite the recent renovation, there was no sound isolation at all; i could hear the ppl in the next room. the cleaning stuff was not doing its work properly.

Review 86:the location, very close the the beggining of the city's square. room was very big. the inside patio was nice.

Review 87:Only one member of the staff good speak English.

Review 88:The location was great, but a bit far from the bus station to walk as it has been transferred 300 m towards the other direction. Nice big room and the breakfast was good.

Review 89:Small TV and a chair to sit in would be nice

Review 90:Location and an excellent buffet breakfast

Review 91:Good Location & Great City Staff very warm and welcoming

Review 92:Really helpful reception staff

Review 93:Excellent choice. Good service and very good location. Employees were very helpful and in a very positive disposition.

Review 94:For such a lovely building, the interiors lacked charm.

Review 95:Location and cleanliness

Review 96:I found the pillows to be most uncomfortable.

Review 97:Central location. Could walk everywhere around the town. Superb hot chocolate at breakfast

Review 98:Garge was very narrow and hard to enter even with a small car. Very hard beds

Review 99:Hotel is cituated in the city center. Large nice rooms

Review 100:Poor access to under ground car park.

Review 101:Excellent location, with good road links to surrounding towns.

Review 102:The wi-fi was unstable for a while. The manager had to reset the routernear our room. After that it worked ok

Review 103:the location was excellent, really at the center of the city. The breakfast was very rich!
