Reviews for Maisonnave
Review 1:The price of breakfast and dinner was on the high side which encourages you to eat outside
Review 2:Excellent location with easy access to the city centre and the historic old town. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the car parking was convenient and secure with plenty of space
Review 3:The parking is an extra €15 Euros and you to get to it you have to go around the one way system again to get back to the hotel.
Review 4:Friendly English speaking staff, comfortable quite room. Great location in the old town, friendly tapas bar on site.
Review 5:There was no view, only an internal courtyard. The room was very hot and I could not control the temperature.
Review 6:The location simply cannot be better. The underground car park was safe and reasonably priced. Breakfast was excellent with a very wide range of fayre. The rooms were very comfortable and the giant shower head and walk in shower was an added bonus. The fridge and mini-bar was good and the beds were really wide. Best of all was the friendliness and welcoming attitude of the staff. The receptionist even printed off our boarding passes for us.
Review 7:Was easy to find due to street signs. Its location was located a few yards from parking. The location sets you right in the central part of Pamploma close to all tourist sights. Walking around felt safe.
Review 8:The street noise can be a bit loud but that comes with having a great location. Also, for a four star hotel, the bathroom, although very clean, did have a little bit of grim along the corners of the shower walls. Finally, given that this is a four star hotel, it would have been nice to have wash cloths and an iron.
Review 9:Loved it here. Super nice room, comfy bed, great location and friendly staff.
Review 10:I requested a room change due to noise from breakfast area & was given a great room with a lovely view. Very kind & helpful staff. Excellent central location.
Review 11:Once again we felt very welcome at the Maisonnave Hotel. Love the central location and restaurants nearby . Great desayunos in the adjoining cafeteria!
Review 12:Location is perfect on the edge of the Old City. Their parking garage is very convenient and they allow luggage drop off at the door. Breakfast buffet is extensive tho expensive. The bar/cafe is convenient and a value. Fabulous view from our room.
Review 13:Very dark. room with small window that looked out to rooms on the other side. no outlook at all. Felt more like a motel room than a hotel.
Review 14:Very Clean.. Staff friendly. Good location. Looks like it has been renovated fairly recently
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:As it was our honeymoon we were upgraded to the suite. This is not obvious as we stayed at seven hotels during this trip and this was the only one to do so. We appreciate this very much. Also, the hotel restaurant is just outstanding - you shouldn't miss it.
Review 17:Hotel centrally located. Allocated a very nice room on a newly refurbished Floor. Bed very comfortable. Hotel very clean, with a nice restaurant/bar/cafeteria. Staff very polite and friendly.
Review 18:This hotel is located in the old town very close to all the sites. We enjoyed exploring the old town and the museums. Part of the old fort was still there overlooking the river.
Review 19:V noisy I had lots of other guests talking till late at nite 1-2am also water running through pipes in bathroom even with door closed was loud and also was ? Every room on floor so only from 2-7 was no noise
Review 20:It was nice and clean with somewhere helpful staff
Review 21:Rooms were large with a queen bed and big comfy pillows. Room and bathroom were very clean. Shower excellent with good pressure and lots of hot water. Large thick bath towels. Room temp. individually controlled. WiFi connection excellent. Strong signal and auto connect when you arrived in your room. Location- easy walking distance to Pamplona attractions. Parking very secure and close to hotel at a reasonable price of 11euros. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 22:Biggest problem is the WiFi, which is horribly slow, disconnects often and is generally unusable.
Review 23:Location is excellent, secure underground parking, very good breakfast. Staff could do better on few issues, but it's good anyway. Rooms very clean, large, comfortable.
Review 24:Nothing.
Review 25:Excellent location. In the city center but still very quiet and calm. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Breakfast buffet was freshly prepared and delicious!
Review 26:Nothing - a fantastic stay!
Review 27:Beautiful property inside and out in a quiet little street in the centre of Pamplona, close to everything. The hotel has everything you could need: its own restaurant, its own bar, and a fantastic buffet breakfast which sets you up for the whole day. Rooms were spotlessly clean, so comfortable, quiet, and the décor is beautiful. Satellite tv in rooms and wifi throughout. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 28:Car park is 150m before the hotel, in a one-way system. Better (and cheaper) food options within 5 minutes of the hotel.
Review 29:Excellent location, within easy walking distance of the old town. Excellent value for money for the room, but food expensive.
Review 30:Room was stuffy. Air con didn't seem to work. Slept better after opening the window during the night
Review 31:Staff were extremely helpful in booking rail tickets for me.
Review 32:A long walk (30mins) to the old town, no good for the elderly. Beds very uncomfortable and car park super tight, small cars only.
Review 33:There was a festival in town when we arrived so accomodation was hard to find and very expensive $1,000 per night for 4star. This was the most recommended 3 star. We had "the best room" 704 which has s great view and a large terrace. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 34:There was a bit too much overstated warning about the security in the hotel which left us feeling a bit uneasy.
Review 35:The bar attached to the hotel was really good for convenience and value for money. The location was great and we appreciated the closeness of the parking underneath the hotel. Pamplona itself was a great stopover, would definitely recommend a visit.
Review 36:Strangely they put two single beds with since mattresses together to make our double, meaning the beds moved apart.
Review 37:Location was very good, staff very friendly. Would definitely visit again.
Review 38:No bad experience! Wifi was a bit weak in the room at times but fine in the hotel lobby. Other than that I cannot criticise anything in this hotel.
Review 39:The stff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and location also excellent with easy parking close by
Review 40:If I had paid for parking it would have cost €14 per night, a bit pricey in my view but parking on the street is prohibited.
Review 41:Hotel Maisonnave is in an excellent city centre location, less than 5 minutes walk from the main square of Pamplona's old city. The staff were freindly and helpful and, due to a mix up with my booking they offered me free parking and breakfast. My double room was at the rear of the 4th floor and I would consider it adequate. It was quiet, but a little on the dark side and the decor definitely did not match the publicty photographs. The breakfast featured a good selection of hot and cold food.
Review 42:Basic price doesn't include breakfast
Review 43:Absolutely great! Friendly and English-speaking staff, wide range of free toiletries, very good air conditioner, location in the very heart of the city
Review 44:That the photographic exhibition did not extend the common areas of the hotel.
Review 45:The location and the approachability of the staff. The hotel has implemented a photographic exhibition throughout the building which adds interest to an otherwise functional building.
Review 46:Wi-fi could be a bit stronger in the room, but is fine in the large lobby.
Review 47:Location, location, location! Own parking space. They have a bistro next door for who wants to enjoy a cheaper and simpler breakfast.
Review 48:Very close to the centre of Pamplona but in a street with very little traffic. Excellent breakfast buffet. Comfortable room with effective air-conditioning.
Review 49:WLAN was not really stable.
Review 50:Location is almost in the middle of the historic center, most interesting places are in walking distance. For the ones not wanting a full buffet breakfast, the hotel bar offers great alternatives.
Review 51:Very convenient location in Pamplona. Good parking facilities (much needed in this city) even if you have to walk a short distance between the hotel and the car park. The bar is lively and serves excellent draft beer and tapas!
Review 52:Accept that during St Fermin price of hotel is going to increase, I would not normally pay close to €1000 euro for 2 nights at a hotel without breakfast, no spa, swimming pool or water in room replenished. But during festival seemed reasonable. Wifi was dire probably due to number of people in the hotel.
Review 53:Great place to stay for St Fermin. Bad was heaving with locals for the whole time we were there which really added to the experience. If you are a light sleeper ask for room away from road side as above bar and and where all the partying was going on.
Review 54:Wifi didn't work in Room. Had to go to lobby. Staff was indifferent.
Review 55:Location got us permission to enter to parking during Running of the Bulls when the city center was closed to cars. Very nice.
Review 56:under ground parking height restriction, not a problem we were able to park our high van 10 min walk away. 2.1m is the restriction
Review 57:location location location!!
Review 58:Nothing, great experience all around
Review 59:We arrived early, they allowed us to store our luggage until we checked-in. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, especially considering it was during San Fermin and the lobby was packed with people. Once in our room we could not have been happier. Great bed, modern bathroom, wonderful view from the window and everything was so clean and spacious.
Review 60:The view from the window on the other rooms.
Review 61:Confortable and modern big room in a very central location. Helpful staff who arranged late check-out for us,
Review 62:Great Location. Nice place. Excellent Breakfast. Stayed here for the bull run but this hotel would be a good choice anytime. Great parking facilities.
Review 63:The price was obviously inflated due to the San Fermin Festival.
Review 64:Location perfect for exploring the old town and being central to the activities of the San Fermin Festival.
Review 65:If you want some sleep during the San Fermin festival I wouldn't recommend you stay here!
Review 66:Amazingly comfortable beds and super access to all the parties and fiestas during the San Fermin festival. The Cantina downstairs is also a great facility - very reasonably priced and full of music and singing!
Review 67:Way over priced. For a single room with a twin bed for two nights was about $900. Its a shame that they price gouge because of the festival but with a town like Pamplona, I can see how the festival is a main source of income for the rest of the year. It wasn't a five star hotel but it was what we needed for our two night stay.
Review 68:The hotel was located right in the heart of the festival so you could walk to it daily. The room was clean and the shower was great. We were on the second floor so the sound of the festival, that literally went on all night long, was loud but that's not the hotel's fault.
Review 69:everything, the staff were excellent, very friendly, helpful and provided very good advice re restaurants and things to do and see in Pamplona. Breakfast was amazing, far surpassed anything we have eaten in a luxury hotel in the past year.
Review 70:Our room was somewhat small. The hotel was completely full during our stay and the breakfast room was too small to accommodate all the guest comfortably. The parking was very expensive (about 14 euros).
Review 71:Nice location, right in the middle of the old town. Comfortable and clean room. Helpful staff. Quite good breakfast. Convenient private parking nearby.
Review 72:nothing I didn't like. Except maybe they forgot to replace the nespresso pods for our second morning there.
Review 73:Everything. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully designed. The staff were friendly. The bed really comfortable. The airconditioning very efficient. And there was an in room nespresso machine.
Review 74:rooms are a little on the small side, but they do not feel too small.
Review 75:Excellent location, comfortable beds, great bathroom and excellent shower, very good buffet breakfast, quite location, spotlessly clean
Review 76:No es un hotel de 4 estrellas Las habitaciones no son como en las fotos, son pequeñas con poca luminosidad y poco color El baño no estaba muy limpio
Review 77:La gente es muy amable La ubicación
Review 78:Breakfast spread was good, however eggs were already cooked and just sitting on a plate, so consequently cold to eat. Likewise for the bacon.
Review 79:Clean, comfortable central location.
Review 80:Overall everything perfect value for money.
Review 81:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The coffee in the bar downstairs fabulous and loved the little orange juice shot served with it.
Review 82:Staff all very friendly and helpfull except perhaps the barman in the Cafe
Review 83:Brilliant Location Super Modern rooms Parking is listed as nearby but actually controlled by the hotel. best to drive up to the hotel and unload in dedicated loading zone then ask staff for directions to parking rather than park before checking in. Easy lift access from street level
Review 84:Room was very hot - air con didn't make much difference.
Review 85:Great location. Had everything we needed for a much needed rest from the camino. Staff were extremely helpful and we weren't charged when we cancelled our booking for a second night as we were ready to continue on the camino.
Review 86:Staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was very good and there is a very pleasant bar attached to the hotel. I would stay in this hotel again if visiting Pamplona.
Review 87:More clarity in the instructions to find car park Satnav had difficulty finding it
Review 88:Central to all amenities Friendly Staff very helpful Very clean The room was to a good standard
Review 89:No problem with anything.
Review 90:We left a pair of glasses there and called the hotel. They sent thenimmediately to our next hotel which requires them to look up the addressand pick it with bubble wrap. We were very impressed with their serviceand really were helped. Comfortable quiet hotel. All was grand
Review 91:Very friendly personnel. The hotel is located within the Pamplona old city centre, 300 meters from Estafeta street where you will find fantastic restaurants to enjoy pintxos with a glass of wine :) We will be back in 2016 for the next international congress on rural tourism.
Review 92:Nothing comes in my head
Review 93:As traveling for business, I was more demanding than usual (printing, working space etc..) and all the members of the staff really eased my comfort. Room was renovated, very clean and quiet. Breakfast is of very good standard.
Review 94:Cafe next door very busy, food expensive and average quality.
Review 95:Superb place to stay. Friendly staff large rooms and pet friendly. Great for seeing all the old town has to offer. Truly enjoyable will use again.
Review 96:The hotel was comfortable, clean and (in freezing cold weather) warm. But the standout for us was the first class service. All the staff were incredibly helpful, courteous and friendly, especially on the front desk. And when I got a parking ticket, the manager Esther insisted on accompanying me across the old town to and from the office where I had to pay the fine, translating for me and easing me through what could have been a complicated situation. Now that's service with a plus!
Review 97:Nada / Nothing
Review 98:Personal extremadamente atento y profesional. Gran hotel y muy buena situación. / Staff was extremely proactive and outstanding. Great hotel, taking so carefully small details that makes you comfortable. Walking distance to all interesting in Pamplona.
Review 99:Hard to fault.
Review 100:First, the location is great - straight out of the door into town. Staff really helpful and rooms modern and spacious. Great little bar restaurant downstairs - and not expensive.
Review 101:Our GPS couldn't direct us to the hotel. Directions to underground car park and hotel would have been very helpful.
Review 102:Welcoming staff, clean and comfortable. Appealing art murals on the walls. Large room, large shower. Great breakfast. Lovely staff member in breakfast room, very helpful with a smile. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants.
Review 103:Parking was not obvious, or I just misread the notes.
Review 104:Pleasant staff, huge comfortable bed, central location, easy walking to sights, bars & restaurants
Review 105:- Better sound proofing of the room. I'd wake up to the noise of the cleaning lady outside my door, some banging and tv sounds next door - More equipment at their gym
Review 106:- Location was perfect. It was where things generally happens in the small town of Pamplona so it was much easier to cover the 'touristy' side of the town. - Room was spacious enough and was cleaned daily - Staff spoke english so it was also a big plus for someone who doesn't speak Spanish at all
Review 107:nothing
Review 108:thought that the bar/restaurant at ground floor level gave the Hotel a vibrancy and vitality. Staff were efficient courteous and always willing to help. Nearby safe parking was a 2 min walk away and very efficient.
Review 109:Was perfect
Review 110:This is really a great hotel for a "wow" price - we paid around 60€ per night, what could you ask more? The hotel has a great bar, restaurant and located in the heart of things, walking distance to anywhere in the city
Review 111:There was nothing that we did`nt like.
Review 112:The hotel is very near to the centre, walking everywhere a pleasure, not too far to see the historic sights and town. Shops and restaurants were lovely. Food excellent.
Review 113:Hotel Restaurant was not good quality and did not offer Vegetation Options. Also, restaurant did not open until late, which is not good for travelling people who may need food as soon as they arrive. Breakfast was over priced.
Review 114:Location
Review 115:Wifi was weak so had to ask for a password to get a stronger signal. It was fine after that. Thought that there should be facial tissues provided in bathroom.
Review 116:Towels and bedding were very nice! Large bathtub was a treat. Bed was very comfortable.
Review 117:parking was a bit expensive. wifi was working poor.
Review 118:Clean, Easy acces to all sight seing (5 min away from main catedral and Street ). Breakfast is rich , Stuff is helpfull and rooms are new and good smell.
Review 119:It was a little expensive and not sound proof. I could hear my neighbors yelling late at night.
Review 120:The beds were soft and nice, bathroom immaculate, a/c working, very central if you're interested in visiting the old city, and had a nice view
Review 121:Staff were most helpful, both with checking in and assisting me in getting a replacement GPS. the hotel is in a good location, has an interesting history and the staff in the cafeteria were friendly and cheerful. Most enjoyable stay.
Review 122:This is a wonderful hotel right off the camino. I stayed here last year as well and left my passport and money in the safe. I called and they held it at the front desk for me. Very honest people working in this hotel. Cafe is great too.
Review 123:Couldn't get wifi in room
Review 124:We loved everything about the hotel and would stay here again. Wifi did not work on our floor so we sat downstairs to use it . Central location, quiet, dining options, helpful staff. We were walking the Camino and it was perfect for exploring the city and silence at night. Highly recommended by Australians
Review 125:The fact you could hear people using bathrooms in adjacent rooms. The internet was a bit patchy.
Review 126:The hotel is right in the centre of the historic old town - the location could not have been more perfect. It is an older building and feels quite dated but the rooms are nice and comfortable (if just a bit business-like). The shower in the bathroom was amazing though you could hear people using other bathrooms in the adjacent rooms. Overall, highly recommended.
Review 127:We really enjoyed staying at Maisonnave for four nights in September 2014. Our standard double room was a good size and attractive, with lots of natural light and a lovely spacious bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent for exploring the old town. The bed was extremely comfortable and the windows had very effective double glazing so it was very quiet. We'd happily stay there again.
Review 128:confusion reg parking garage. garage door broken. garage security non-existent. but the hotel still charges full price for parking.
Review 129:Room and hotel was Clean
Review 130:Stayed at this hotel for one night with my 19 year old son as part of a motorbike tour thro France, Andorra & Spain, hotel easy to find and although the hotel charges for parking we managed to find free motorcycle parking no more than 100 metres from hotel main entrance, food and drink served in cafe joins with hotel reasonably priced and good quality. Breakfast was superb, used sauna whilst here as well, highly recommended and I will be returning with my girlfriend in the future!!
Review 131:The hotel restaurant was closed for a private function.
Review 132:Good room size and all in very good condition. Very comfortable and well equipped. Secure underground parking about 50 m away was ideal for our motorbike. Breakfast was excellent. The location was ideal being on the edge of the old town and close to the main places of interest.
