Reviews for Hotel Plaza

Review 1:the lighting is poor. But without asking we were offered a reading light

Review 2:Clean, good beds friendly service giving useful advice. Nearby free parking and bus stops. Plenty of shops, local restaurants and bars around

Review 3:no hairdryer in the room, the view was also not impressive. the window was on a ground level which was not very safe.

Review 4:the staff was amazing and helpful. they provided us with a map and marked all the routes and points of interest for no extra charge. wifi was working properly, everything was new and clean. the shower was spacious and the bed comfortable.

Review 5:No minibar which I suppose is okay for a basic hotel but we had insulin to keep cool. Hotel staff were helpful though and put it in the fridge.

Review 6:Clean and comfortable. Interesting furniture. Staff were really friendly and as helpful as possible but they didn't speak any English and unfortunately we don't speak Spanish. Easy to park. Mcdonald nearby! Area looked a bit industrial/scruffy during the day but improved during the evening when the shutters went up, bars opened and everyone came out. Fabulous coffee house just round the corner. Breakfast cheap and basic in the cafe /bar adjoining but unfortunately it wasn't opened when we arrived on Sunday. Quite a way from the historic old town,

Review 7:Nothing bad to report at all. 10/10

Review 8:Incredibly warm welcome and the decor is original and a great change from the usual neytral stuff. This really is a family-run hotel, ao if you want impersonal and neutral, don't go for it. But we loved it!

Review 9:Lack of fridge in the room and no drink dispenser in the building. Poor facilities for storing clothes The attached bar closes Sunday and Monday afternoons and evenings.

Review 10:The most helpful reception staff I've encountered in a long time. An air con that really cooled the room. Easy on street parking.

Review 11:Being woken at 6.30 and asked to move our motorcycles from where we'd been told to park, especially as they weren't actually in anyone's way. Quite a walk from the old town. Breakfast comprised one cup of tea/coffee and toast or croissant, served in the adjacent bar.

Review 12:Of all the hotels on our tour this was not the best (or worst!) but it was the best value.

Review 13:Having to go home!

Review 14:The staff were friendly and always happy to help. The hotel, though basic, was clean and comfortable. The rooms were equipped with powerful air conditioning that worked well. Adjacent to reasonably priced restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. Near bus stop where frequent buses to Old town and AVE station depart.

Review 15:Noisy plumbing, thin walls. I could here the man in the next room snoring.

Review 16:The room decor & location. The very helpful man on reception when we arrived

Review 17:Air freshener spray used excessively in bedroom and corridors in hotel. My wife and i coughed most of the week. But hotel did agree to stop using the spray in the room.

Review 18:Parking easy in street outside

Review 19:WiFi hit and miss

Review 20:Everything .Location good for local autobus No1 to top of old city. Local square very close with 4 eating and drinking Flora and Marie Luz both receptionist very pleasant and helpful with tourist information

Review 21:The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to help us find our way around the city and to give us suggestions on visited tours and other things to do. It was an easy 20 minute walk into the old town.

Review 22:The room was somewhat dark; the lighting could be improved. Access could be hard for disabled people.

Review 23:Good location, near to rail station. Staff were very helpful, especially the lady receptionist, who showed us on a map how to see the many sights of this historic town. Also, allowing us to leave bags for a few hours after checking out, which enabled us to walk unencumbered to the old town.

Review 24:If only it had been a little nearer town. After a hard day's sightseeing we didn't have the energy to walk back to the recommended tapas bar.

Review 25:Its amazing how much Flora communicated to us when neither spoke the other's language! She was so helpful. She drew on a map all the places we should go to and we did! All in one afternoon and evening.

Review 26:Too much noise in the hotel's corridor, you can hear everything. It's not located in the center of the city, but it takes only 15mn walking to ge there.

Review 27:The staff was really helpulf and caring. Everything was clean and confortable. I like the decorations. Good value for the price.

Review 28:Noting at all.

Review 29:Although our spanish was poor, the lady at reception persisted in explaining to us where all the main sights were and recommended restaurants. Very helpful. The bed was comfortable and adjoining bar was good.

Review 30:Noise through wall from adjoining room disturbing.

Review 31:Helpful staff easy street parking just outside hotel comfortable room with good bathroom. Easy walk to commercial centre. Walk to old city is certainly worth the effort up the hill. You can take the No.1 bus from very near the hotel to the castle at the top of the hill for 1.05 Euro and walk down. Worth the trip to the very top at night to see the gorges lit up by spotlights.

Review 32:The only drawback was the poor sound insulation in the stud partition walls, and the composite flooring in the corridors was very squeaky. However, would definitely stay there again if in Cuenca.

Review 33:The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, did everything they could to make our stay a pleasant one. The Bar/Restaurant had excellent food at lower prices than in the old town, and lots of it. The African decor is amazing, too, and so much nicer than the usual bland hotel decor! Booking.com are so easy to book through.

Review 34:Nothing not to like. A 15 min walk into old town but not a problem at all.

Review 35:Comfortable room. Easy and free on street parking Easy to find Fantastic staff - really warm welcome and very helpful suggestions on how to get most out of trip to Cuenca. Bar attached to hotel also very friendly and good value

Review 36:Room should be bigger, missing place for luggage and cloths. Thin walls, noisy beds, no good lights. But we were very satisfied.

Review 37:Very friendly and helpful stuff, very nice cosy room. Recommended tapas bar Bodeguilla de Basilio on Calle Fray Luis de Leon. Best beer ever! - Pilsner Urquell on tap - you can find on Calle Colon, next to rest.El Horno Asador. Long boring walking distance to old city, better to go by bus for 1,20 euro.

Review 38:Staff speak near-to-none English (although since they are in Spain, that is expected). Be polite and learn some Spanish before your trip. A little out of the town centre. About 15 to 20 minute walk. So is essentially still quite close. However, the breathtaking buildings of Old Cuenca are perhaps around 30 mins away.

Review 39:The Decor- warm, comfortable, inspired colours and home decoration. Very clean, spacious ensuite double room for a ridiculously cheap price. Also a very clean, and even beautiful, bathroom. Very friendly staff. Attached to a bar, café.

Review 40:The hotel doesn't have its own parking, but there was always place in the street within 100m.

Review 41:The lady who runs the hotel is an incredible source of touristic and practical information. Laundry within 24 hours at a reasonable price.

Review 42:Everything, manageress gave us full guidance to town and local area. Adjacent bar very good and prices competitive. Will certainly stay there again when we return next year. Immediate locality safe and pleasant. Within easy reach of historic town and local National Park.

Review 43:Nothing to dis-like

Review 44:The hotel was all round excellent. Very pleasantly surprised by the decor, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Also hotel bar prices were very chesp

Review 45:Lovely staff; really helpful and gave us a fossil as a gift when we checked out!

Review 46:Hotel excelente

Review 47:A long walk 50 minutes to the old town

Review 48:Clean modern room with the most comfortable bed and pillow ever

Review 49:had to pay €10 for 1 night with a pet

Review 50:friendly staff, good location though rather far from the historic part of town has its own bar/restaurant

Review 51:nothing

Review 52:hospitality. fossil basin. price. free parking.

Review 53:No parking,noisey

Review 54:Good quality with good price. Easy parking. Good kafes around.

Review 55:Not near the old town. Dead on Sunday. No breakfast. Peculiar layout.

Review 56:Pleasant enough. Receptionist has great legs.

Review 57:Parking difficulties for luggage handling. Dodgy airconditioning

Review 58:Very friendly staff and the old town

Review 59:Wifi wasn't so good

Review 60:Pretty far away from the centre. The room had a small window with a bad view. Overall a good stay but too expensive.

Review 61:What can I say

Review 62:Dark furniture and fake antiques. Scanty furniture. Poor lighting.

Review 63:It was quiet and the bar was nearby. Excellent shower.

Review 64:Room too small. No wardrobe, no room for luggage.

Review 65:Parking is convenient

Review 66:A bit out of the way. No iron.

Review 67:Staff were very helpful. The room was very clean. A basic breakfast was provided.

Review 68:There was nothing about this Hotel that I did not like.

Review 69:A fair walk to the old town

Review 70:Staff were great

Review 71:Very stylish place, good price and location, friendly staff and clean rooms.

Review 72:Nowhere to unpack belongings if staying for more than one night

Review 73:Location and helpfulness of staff

Review 74:You need to walk 20 min. to the old city but there's also bus.

Review 75:The staffs don't speak English but they do their best to help us and were especially friendly to our little daughter:) The room was very clean and had nice decoration. Parking directly in front of hotel. The hotel has own restaurant where you can eat and drink nice things for good price, and there's a park with children's playgrounds in the near.

Review 76:The food we had for both dinner and breakfast was not what we expected, quite greasy.

Review 77:Designer furniture brought from Morocco. Very comfortable bed. Nice owners, ready to offer support. Parking just outside the hotel, in the street.

Review 78:The room was very dark, even with all lights on.

Review 79:Although the hotel is located away from the old city center, there is a perfect public transportation (bus) 3 min from the hotel that brings you to the heart of the city (Castello and hanging houses). Great friendly staff. Close to many restaurants (including one in the hotel), bars and shops. Easy free parking on the street in front of the hotel.

Review 80:the walls are very thin, you can hear everything the guy from reception didn't know the internet password for the room connection, but in the end another wifi worked in the room, for which he knew the password.

Review 81:very clean and cosy hotel room, quite charming

Review 82:Nothing

Review 83:We had a great time at Hotel Plaza, Cuenca. The owner is a lovely lady named Flora and she she is always willing to help with all your needs in town, all the employees at the hotel are very nice and the cleaning lady kept our room immaculate. Cuenca and the surroundings are spectacular! I highly recommend this place!

Review 85:Location was good , bus station 1 minute walk & only1 euro to the top of the old town .The rooms were excellent , first class furnishings & decor , comfortable beds , air conditioning/ heating & TV that actually worked , the bathroom & shower straight from a 4star Hotel suite . Review 89:Very friendly and super helpful staff (seemed genuine and not because they are aware they may get reviewed). Very comfortable bed. Very clean. Excellent value for money. Lovely decor in rooms.

Review 90:This is an excellent little family owned hotel about a 15 minute walk from the old town and very convenient to the train station. The family that runs it is awesome!
