Reviews for Parador de Jarandilla de la Vera
Review 1:That I couldn't stay two nights.
Review 2:The beauriful architecture of the Palace and the history and grandeur of it. Holy Roman Emperor Charles V stayed here for 3 months in 1556, while waiting for his annex in the nearby Monastery of Yuste, where he retired from the world after abdication, was completed.
Review 3:Can't think of any negatives
Review 4:The building is awesome. The surroundings are very peaceful, and at the same time there are stores, and cafes, nearby. I have to say that I liked it better than in the pictures. Breakfast was very good. Very convenient to historical places like "El monasterio de Yuste"
Review 5:The WI-Fi did not work during our stay and the walls are thin between the rooms.
Review 6:The castle and its location, especially the floodlit courtyard in the evening.
Review 7:The restaurant is pretentious and over priced. A 5 minute walk in to town and there is any number of bars and restaurants.
Review 8:Beautiful building and surroundings. Best wi-fi ever. Lovely pool. Even had facilities to assist less able into the pool. The courtyard was like a hollywood version of a French Foreign Legion fortress. Beautiful.
Review 9:We enjoyed the historical building in a spectacular mountain setting. The room was comfortable and quiet. Good internet.
Review 10:Room was artificially warmed too much and we were unable to control it. There ws no ability to cool the room.
Review 11:Courtyard

Review 15:Nothing

Review 19:castle is lovely, and very comfortable. great location in town.
Review 20:The courtyard was overrun by children , it was like having a drink in the middle of a kindergarten.
Review 21:The building and the courtyard are beautiful
Review 22:Food not outstanding.
Review 23:Overall setting in and out. Beautiful.
Review 24:the breakfast is very exspansive, noy worth what they offer - we ate in the village
Review 25:Would have been nice to know date of swimming pool opening (15th June) as kids disappointed as was very hot but no pool. Had to book 2 rooms as no family rooms.
Review 26:Beautiful location, kids loved staying in a castle, courtyard restaurant space great for noisy and restless kids, adventure play park next door. Emailed us to let us know about noisy fiesta taking place close by in case wanted to cancel.
Review 27:The rooms are small, hot (no aircon) and noisy. The service is very poor. The man at reception was wearing a red rugby shirt and the bar staff were very disinclined to serve in the parts of the hotel reserved for guests. Stay somewhere else and go to the Parador for a drink to take advantage of the beautiful building. The wifi does not work in the rooms.
Review 28:The building and common parts are beautiful.
Review 29:Prices for the food too high for the quantity and quality of the food (16 euros for a breakfast; 33 euros for a dinner). Good alternatives in the town, however.
Review 30:Very nicely situated hotel in the Vera region, with great views of the mountains from our bedroom window as well as other windows in the parador. Good parking arrangement, courteous staff. Wish there were a second entrance so the trek to the car would be a little shorter.
Review 31:The charges for the bar were quite high. The bed was too hard.
Review 32:We loved the peaceful lounge areas designed only for the guests. Thiswas relaxing and calming. Especially the terraces.
Review 33:The magical castle fortress itself, especially at night! We went in the Fall (for Thanksgivings) so we pretty much had the "castle" for ourselves. The weather was cool and the leaves were allready changing. The heating system was uniform and worked very efficiently . La Vera, a quiet region composed of many small towns that offer natural regional cooking complemented by the everpresent PIMENTON (paprika).and a place where you admire natural streams running under ancient roman bridges . Each town is about 10 minutes apart and easy to explore.
Review 34:Location is too off town. There is only 5 bars/ eateries around thehotel. Hotel own restaurant serves excellent quality meal at a greatvalue, though.
Review 35:The beauty and charm of its historic grounds, garden, yards, pool.Bedroom looks so much better than in pictures. Bed is soft comfy, a/c iscooling in the scorching summer. Bathroom is perfect for honeymooncouples with its double sink. Toiletteries amenities are plentiful.Breakfast selection is like a feast. My only wish is for more hot foodavailable.
Review 36:The staff stays in the reception, They do not offer to take tour luggage to your room.
Review 37:The castell is à verf specialmplace to stay, with THE court yard and lounges.
Review 38:I liked everything! The building was out of this world, so beautiful and well kept. The surroundings were a hiker´s paradise, and the food served at the restaurant was gourmet.
